Welcome to Episode 32 of the Lovecars On The Grid Podcast! Our hosts Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman bring us another roundup of motorsport events from the past week. Paul joins us from a secret location where we are looking to do some filming! This week, we've had lots of exciting racing in the UK, NASCAR and more! The Formula 1 drivers are on their Summer break. If the FIA admitted human error in the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, why have Mercedes let it go? Toto Wolff has been accused of being 'too powerful' in the World of Motorsport by Mario Andretti. Lewis Hamilton was seen in the W Series paddocks, stating that the drivers need more support to get into the sport. With Paul being away, he wasn't present at the Caterham Race at Anglesey, where friend of the channel, Charlie Lower took another win! The British Superbikes were at Thruxton, with some of the best racing Tiff has ever seen! Jason O'Halloran took the win in the first two races, but Tarran Mackenzie took the lead in the third race with just a few corners to go! Very exciting racing. The other British racing this weekend was the Touring Cars at Snetterton. There wasn't much overtaking at this circuit, with a great weekend for BMW as the heat affected the FWD cars. Colin Turkington won the first two races, with Ford's Ashley Sutton taking the third win. The BTCC was supported by some amazing racing in the Ginetta series. Internationally, the NASCAR boys were racing at the Richmond Raceway in Virginia, with a second win on the trot for Kevin Harwick. Just two races to go before the playoffs! Watkins Glen is coming up, with Formula 1 driver, Kimi Raikonnen making a debut! The first race of the World Rallycross Championship also took place this weekend, the electric rallycross series. The series was in Norway, with just 8 cars on the grid. We had the last round of the Formula E Championship at Seoul in South Korea, with a win for Edoardo Mortara, with Stoffel Vandoorne securing second place and winning the Championship. Next weekend, we have Indycar at Gateway Oval as we have some the last three exciting rounds coming up. WRC is in Belgium, plus Moto GP at the Red Bull Ring. Plus, we have Kimi Raikonnen at Watkins Glen in NASCAR!

Adam made the step up into the Ginetta GT5 Challenge championship in 2019, he had a great season learning the new slick-tyres which saw him take multiple wins and podiums throughout the year. Back in October 2020, Ginetta and I launched our first ever Podcast series. We kicked off with our episode 'Questions, Fun & Fears' that involved a really fun and interesting conversation with Carolyne and Kelly, two complete newbies to Canicross. We chatted about those first steps to getting started and then gaining confidence on the trails. Carolyne had just completed the DogFit Couch to 5k programme with her Vizsla Ted and she shared her experiences with us and told us how, as a non-runner, she had completely fallen in love with Canicross. For anyone new to the sport we highly recommend you take a listen to it as it is as relevant today as it was back then. We are so pleased that we have Carolyne with us today and we are really excited to find out what she and Ted have been up to since we last caught up with her. We didn't rush this one out at the end of 2021 because so much of our time was spent with the incredibly late running F1 calendar, plus we knew that we had a healthy gap before these series started again. It's still around a month before we'll even see some F4 or Ginetta testing. And a couple of months before the opening round at Donington Park. It's like any other sport really, with so much to learn. When you first take it up and you're a complete beginner, it might seem quite straightforward to just get your dog in a harness, put on a waist belt and go off for a run. Actually, there is so much more to it, as we have discovered in the years that we have been Canicrossing. We hope you find the following useful. This episode is featured here on our blog. For more information about Canicross equipment including our popular starter kit visit our website.

The CX Goalkeeper had a smart discussion with Daniel Jordi Daniel Jordi is connecting Switzerland's Digital Leaders to accelerate their Digital Transformation. He is client partner at Ginetta, founder at LeadersBridge GmbH and the podcast host of “The Aligned Leader Show”. My learnings: A) The Aligned Leader Show It is an interview series on YouTube (with more than 130 episodes). The show is lasting since more than 8 years as Daniel has not a commercial purpose. People like the show for its inherent value. Companies' names and job titles are not relevant on his show. What really matters are the human beings behind the stories. It was created to connect people, share great stories and to fulfill Daniel's own need to connect with people. B) The CEO Collaboration Day It was created to enable Switzerland Leaders to get closer together. Participants use their first names to introduce themselves and not their job titles. Also in this case, leaders come together because they believe that there is a true value in investing one day with other leaders. Speaking about Human-to-human interactions, Daniel clearly states: “digital is good, physical is better”. His book suggestion: Simon Sinek “Start with why” Seth Godin “The Dip” Daniel's gold nugget: "Understand the why behind everything. It is difficult to connect with somebody if you don't understand the why" How to contact Daniel: https://www.linkedin.com/in/danieljordi/ Thank you Daniel! #customerexperience #leadership #innovation #transformation

Esmee Hawley chats about the Porsche Carrera Cup GB with championship winning outfit Team Parker Racing and a few days at Goodwood Speedweek. Esmee began racing in karting at the age of 9 and moved up to racing cars aged 15, racing a Ginetta junior. In 2016 she progressed to GT racing, driving a Porsche Cayman GT4, becoming vice champion in her very first year. In 2017, she continued to race a Porsche Cayman GT4 and had multiple wins and fastest laps, as well as winning the Brighton Speed Trials for Porsche GB. At the end of 2017, she was chosen as a finalist in the Porsche GB Junior shootout. After a close fought battle, she was highly praised by Porsche GB Motorsport Management. In 2018, Esmee was the Brand Ambassador for the Jardine group's Porsche Centre South London. Following on the path of the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid, Esmee moved up to compete in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship. The fastest one make series in the UK. 2019 was a busy time for Esmee as she took part in the W Series, her first time racing a single seater of any type. Learning lots and demonstrating her raw ability with a superb qualifying session at Brands Hatch, where she qualified third fastest, she narrowly missed out on automatically securing a spot in the series again for 2020, but for now is happy to put her full focus into GT racing.

My guest this week is 18 year old Scott Mckenna. If asked at 14 what his dream was, it would have been 'racing driver', but asked what he thought his reality was likely to be, he'd have probably said "Ummm, working for Mum and Dad in Norway probably". Yet Scott is the 2019 British Ginetta GT5 Champion and one of only 13 British racers under 24 to be selected as a British Racing Drivers Club "Rising Star.' These young racers are chosen by the BRDC because they have achieved success in the upper levels of motorsport and are considered the ones to watch!.We chat about his very calm approach to his racing career - quite a different approach to other young drivers I have spoken to; we discuss how he stays focused over the season, how he deals with pressures and difficult hurdles; and we chat about how he juggles his racing career with his '18 year old world' which, certainly for me, would have been a hard one! Scott is taking every thing very much in his stride and I think you will agree after listening to this chat, why the BRDC have penned him as a rising star.Follow Scott's journey @scottkckenna27 and http://scottmckenna.net/author/scott-mckenna/.

In that role she managed the intellectual capital of the company ensuring that the relevant knowledge was accessible and to promote a culture of sharing that enabled teams to work more efficiently and effectively. After that, Ginetta joined Valore D, where from scratch she structured and implemented a Knowledge Management system designed to avoid the costly practice of re-inventing the wheel. It provided team members a way to find valuable information in unstructured shared folders. AIESEC (pronounced eye-sek) was originally an acronym for Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales. AIESEC is no longer used as an acronym but simply as the name of the organisation. Members of AIESEC are known as “AIESECers.” https://aiesec.org/about-us Recorded 24 May 2019 ______________________________________________________________ Edwin K.
