Today's broadcast is C1E95 for VibeOff Vrijdag, May 9th, 2025. Today's broadcast will be a one-time-only special twist on a FaceOff Friday, where, instead of comparing different versions of the same track against each other, we're comparing pairs (and occasionally trios) of different songs against each other which either have similar movements, or melodies, or instrumentation, or simply just vibes and asking you, the listener to not only tell us which one you like better, but whether or not the comparisons are even valid, and how strongly or weakly if so. So, in lieu of an 8th and final FaceOff Friday episode, Nerd Noise Radio is pleased to present: VibeOff Vrijdag (Vrijdag = the Dutch word for Friday). See the show notes for a link to a document which will allow you to grade me on these comparisons if you so choose!    Tracklist: Vibe-Off# - Timestamps  Track# - Track - Game - System(s) - Composer - Like many of Square's RPGs of the late 90's and early 2000's, Vagrant Story is an ambitious, flawed, divisive and fantastic RPG, full of big ideas that didn't get a chance to full develop into what was planned. What we got was only one part of a larger saga (see also: Xenogears from just a few years prior), a game that stands on its own, proudly displaying all of the rough edges and brilliant ideas for all to see. As per a listener request, let's talk about a schmup ship, and... ok well, I guess we don't really compare it to robots much. Except the one that is a robot! Or two. Two that are robots. It's time for another composer spotlight on Rhythm Encounter, and this time we're celebrating the works of Hiroki Kikuta. Many RPG fans know his work on the Mana series — particularly Secret of Mana and Trials of Mana — but there's much more to Kikuta than many people know. From a PSone game that never left Japan to his contributions to many indie games today, today's episode digs into the many hats Hiroki Kikuta has worn over the years. We hope you discover new facets to his work as some of us did on this episode! If you want more composer episodes when you are done, check out episodes 108 and 61, where we spotlighted Hitoshi Sakimoto and Yoko Shimomura, respectively.Featuring: Mike Salbato, Hilary Andreff, Patrick Gann, Greg Delmage; Edited by Paul DennisLinks for this episode Valiant Mirror Website Soukaigi - Fire Wire TracklistFiji Block0:08:13 - Where Angel Fear to Tread (Hiroki Kikuta, arr. I got the idea for the playlist when doing the Hitoshi Sakimoto episode because I have a ton of these games that I wanted to talk about and while some of them will definitely get full episodes in future, and there's plenty of games not on this list I can talk about, it seemed ilke a fun excuse to nerd out about some classics as well as a few deeper cuts. Hailing from the East Bay, Oddity is a sonic storyteller seeking refuge in the intersections of jazz, hip-hop, and neo-soul. With influences ranging from Billy Strayhorn to D'angelo, Oddity can be found wherever inspiration strikes - be it a tender touch on a warm Rhodes, a heavy dilla-style backbeat, or a bluesy trombone melody. Oddity's story is one of resiliency and rebirth, of toeing the precipice of the abyss and returning with an open heart and a present mind. Her experience as a transgender woman of color is inextricably woven into the music: at once an affirmation of life, a tear-streaked lament, a desperate call to action. Join Oddity as she discovers the beauty and cultivates peace by centering love, against all odds. Joey Escobar is a pianist, teacher, composer, and arranger with a degree in music from UC Berkeley. Growing up with 10 siblings, Joey's upbringing gave him a strong appreciation for both community and diversity. Oops, I did it again! I missed my window to upload a rerun for last month. So, what I'm going to do this month is share two reruns instead. And not only that, but I will do the same in October as well. So you come out, net, one episode ahead!Since we're coming up fast on the end of the dedicated reruns feed on Buzzsprout, October and November will be "beginnings": Episodes 1 and 2 of Channel 1 in October, and Episode 1 of Channel 2 in November. And then.......in December.....as our final send off to close out this dedicated reruns feed and send it off with a bang? Not only will it NOT be a rerun, but it'll be a farewell episode that shall be EXCLUSIVE to listeners on the reruns feed! Sure, it'll eventually make it to the main feed too, of course - ironically (or perhaps "poetically" is the better word), through the mechanism of, of all things, a rerun. But not for months, or even years. And until then, it will not be heard by a soul not subscribed to this feed! It will be all yours, as my gift to you, my token of appreciation, my way of THANKING YOU for having stuck around this whole time, even when you've known it was winding down, and even when I've missed episodes a handful of times. :-)In any case, my apologies once again for missing last month's rerun, and may I present to you our first of two reruns this month: C1E22 - Mishmash Monday - vol 3 from January 22nd, 2018: early in Season 2. Not a particularly "standout" episode in the grand scheme of the show, but one that I'm still personally extra fond of, and even more importantly, one that's short enough that I'll still have room under the 2hr max monthly upload constraint of Buzzsprout's free tier service to provide you a much more substantial 2nd episode this month, and another early and much more "important" episode: C1E4 - TwoFer Tuesday - vol. 1.And now, for the tracklist:Track#, Game, System, Track Name, Composer, Timestamp:  01: Intro - 00:00 02: Gran Turismo 5 - PS3 - Current of the Times - Yudai Satoh - 02:06 03: Tobal No. 1 - PS1 - Aqua and Trees - Yoko Shimomura - 07:13 04: Fantavision (US) - PS2 - Vs. The story of Vanillaware, an Osaka-based Japanese game developer, is one that could've been showcased in failure. The company's first game almost shut down the company, but they later would regroup and continue working on video games, putting out some of the most original and interesting titles on more recent generations of consoles. Singing Mountain is back. I said it would be back and I meant it. And to contrast this new run of the show from what I left you all on months ago, I decided to put out something a little more hopeful. Do you know that particular kind of video game ending where you see your character cruising toward the horizon, bad guys vanquished in their wake, and there’s maybe a sunset or something, and the music sounds like the end of an 80s movie? Today's Rerun is C1E35: "The Floppy Show", originally released Sept 20th, 2018, it was our focus on music from games from Computer systems (as opposed to conventional game consoles). The episode was named after a local Des Moines-area kid's show from the 1950s-1980s, and features clips of the show in both the intro and the outro (as well as a little Kraftwerk and Sonic CD).   Please note that due to the attached ear catcher at the beginning regarding Best of 2019, the time stamps in the track list will be off by a minute, minute and a half. Up against a deadline to put this down for a couple months, I did not have time to update the time stamps accordingly. Hi hi hi. Before you knew it, it was time for another podcast, and here we are!  In our weird synchronistic way, we cover a couple of picks this episode that have at least one thing in common: they make Jeremy a little angry. We open with the soundtrack to (of all things) the pinball game Black Knight: Sword of Rage, and we discuss some of the history of video games through the perspective of pinball, and how the two mediums comingle. The soundtrack by Scott Ian thumps and marches to a metal beat as the pinball machine mercilessly takes your money, and we explore the mingling of the musical and mechanical in this very special release. Then Anthony brings the vertical shooter oddity Radiant Silvergun and its recent Data Discs release, which currently represents the ONLY extant vinyl release for music by Hitoshi Sakimoto. We reconcile our "Yasumi Matsuno" expectations for the soundtrack with the fact that Sakimoto is a big shooter fan, and we discuss Radiant Silvergun's place in the pantheon of shooters, and why this one is practically custom-made for frustration. We then cover the recent news in the world of video game soundtracks on vinyl record with some new releases, announcements, and lots of opportunity for money spending! What kind of podcast would we be running if we didn't cost you some money? Finally, we discuss the phenomenon of the "B-side" and whether it has a place in the world of video game soundtracks, and what it might take for a consumer to make some room, so to speak, on the releases we have now to allow for oddities and more raw creativity on our shelves versus the "as-seen-in-game" soundtrack reproductions. What do you think? Join us and weigh in! Feed will include Channels 1, 2, 3, and any future channels not yet planned. Feed will also include podcasts in high quality, stereo where applicable, and episodes will never expire off the feed. Therefore it is STRONGLY recommended that you subscribe to this Nerd Noise Radio feed and bypass all others. This one will contain all their content anyway.   Option 2: If you're ONLY interested in Channel 1 ("Noise from the Hearts of Nerds") episodes, and not in any of the other content that is or will be offered by Nerd Noise Radio, there is a Channel 1-specific feed. But it's hosted on a free account, rather than an upgraded account like the "All Channels Feed" with lower quality sound (mono, I believe), a maximum 2hrs per month of content (so if the month's episodes run longer than that, they may need to be trimmed), and episodes expire off the feed forever after 90 days. It is STRONGLY recommended for most listeners to subscribe to the All-Channels feed instead. However, if you really are only interested in Channel 1 content, here's the RSS:    http://www.buzzsprout.com/77944.rss   Our episodes will also appear on our Nerd Noise Radio YouTube Channel - just search for Nerd Noise Radio, you'll find us! Ultima Final Fantasy | The Ultimate Final Fantasy Podcast

Development - Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is a tactical role playing game developed and published by Square Co for the Nintendo Advance. Released on February 14, 2003 in Japan and September 8, 2003 in the US. It was also released on the Wii-U Virtual Console on January 28, 2016 for Europe, and on March 30, 2016 for US and Japan, but you would have to be one of the thirteen people who had bought a Wii-U by that time. The game isn’t a direct sequel to Final Fantasy Tactics, which is something neither of us knew coming in. It does share several themes and gameplay traits, while bringing a few new ones to the table as well. The game’s development began when Square announced it’s publishing agreement with Nintendo. Advance was developed by recently acquired employees of Quest Corporation. You may recognize them from the famous Tactics Ogre series. The game was initially thought to be a port of Tactics, but features a completely separate storyline. Japan players received a radio drama that broadcast an expansion to the story on Japanese radio stations from January 2003 to late March 2003. The game was mainly scored by Hitoshi Sakimoto, Kaori Ohkoshi and Ayako Saso. You’ll remember Sakimoto from Final Fantasy XII, Tactics Ogre, and Vagrant Story; oh, and a little game called Revenant Wings. The game’s soundtrack was made purchasable on February 19, 2003, and features a whopping 74 tracks. Tactics Advance has sold more than one million copies between NA and Europe, and netted Square 22 million dollars by August 2006. The game received positive reviews, and has an 87.64 percent on Metacritic. It is hailed as one of the best games on the Gameboy Advance.   Setting/Story - Final Fantasy Tactics Advance centers around four children, named Marche, Mewt, Ritz, and Doned, who live in a town called St. Ivalice. They are transported to a realm called Ivalice after discovering a magical tome. The story follows Marche as he navigates the dream world of his friends Ritz Malheur and Mewt Randell. Let me repeat that; You follow TWO PEOPLE’S BAD SUSHI DREAMS AT ONCE. Your little brother Doned is also here, and I always voiced him as Jimmy from South Park whenever he was on screen due to his wheelchair. Good times. Mewt is basically scarred from the death of his mother, and upon having a bad bit of curry from his local Indian Restaraunt, changes the world for his friends upon reading the aforementioned book. Ritz is a platinum blonde who absolutely hates being called blondy locks or whatever. Your younger brother is also a super large fan of Final Fantasy, which is super meta and something the game suffers for in my opinion. Fantasy Ivalice is a reincarnation of Mewt’s memories from a Final Fantasy game. Marche wakes up alone, and begins his quest for home posthaste. He eventually realizes that life is way better managing a war tribe known as Clan Centurion, but is still longing for home. Marche soon realizes that his entire town has been dragged into this new world which is dominated by adventuring clans and his buddy Mewt, who has somehow managed to become king. (His dream, but come on).  Mewt isn’t teased like he is in real life, Ritz isn’t an albino, Doned is still Jimmy/Timmy but he can walk, and Marche is a beast. Cid, Mewt’s Father, is the Judge Master of the region. Marche then sets out to destroy the crystals that bound this imaginary world together. These crystals are bound by summons called Totema, and feature unique battles to defeat. One of the final bosses, named Llednar Twem, is an actual manifestation of all of Mewt’s Negative Emotions, or Recessive Genes if you’re a fan of Metal Gear Solid. In the end, we find out that Mewt’s mother is really Li-Grim, which comes from the book they had read that later manifested itself as Mewt’s mother, Queen Remedi. Apparently there are a couple side plots, one including a foreign crime ring and another where Marche never leaves Ivalice and becomes the next in line for Judge Magister Cid’s sword.

Ultima Final Fantasy | The Ultimate Final Fantasy Podcast

This week, we discuss Masayoshi Sokens history within Square Enix. Enjoy! Spotlight: Masayoshi Soken By Joseph DeGolyer   Look, it’s hard to follow up after a huge success.   To every first generation of Saturday night live hosts, there’s always a second generation. Like Irvine Kershner after George Lucas. Like Jason Newsted after Cliff Burton. Like Andrew Johnson after Abraham Lincoln. Like Commodus after Marcus Aurelius.   Some, like Kershner, rise to meet the challenge. Others, like Andrew Johnson, do so terribly their effects sour generations. Even more are just forgotten with time.   For Example, Can you name the musical composer for Final Fantasy 12? How about 13?   For most of us, these names probably don’t pop so easily into our heads… (They are Hitoshi Sakimoto, Hayato Matsuo, Masaharu Iwata for FF12 and Masashi Hamauzu for 13 By the way---and yes, I did have to look those up.)   How can you possibly follow a legend like Nobuo Uematsu? With 12 main series Final Fantasy games composed primarily by him. With pieces like “theme of Love” from FF4 being taught to schoolchildren in Japan, and having the second-highest selling video game single ever (Eyes on Me, yes I still hate it, although I won’t deny the accomplishment), how can someone possibly fill his shoes.   You’ve heard the rumors… Is the next Uematsu here?   HAS THE CHOSEN ONE ARRIVED?   On that, who knows?   But let’s talk about him anyway.   This is our special Spotlight on Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn composer, Masayoshi Soken!!!   ----------------------------small musical interlude----------------------------------   Masayoshi Soken was born on January 10th, 1975 in La Paz Mexico. His father was a Trumpet Player in the NHK Symphony Orchestra for many years, as well as a professor at the Okinawa Prefectural University of Art. Why was his pregnant mother in mexico at the time of Soken’s birth? Who knows! Because he went straight from Mexico to Tokyo, Japan. There he grew to love music, learn piano, learn the guitar, and get into the Tokyo University of Science.   Now I’ve desperately been searching for what he got his degree in at University… There are departments there in Science, engineering, innovation studies, chemical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, management, fire science, math, technology, and biology….   Basically, no music or sound design school.   Students are required to take some liberal arts stuff, according to the university’s website.   I figured, for fun, I’ll list off their principles on liberal arts-supplemented education:   “Leaders in science and technology are required to remain motivated to tackle, in cooperation with like minded people from different fields, cross-sectional and complex issues that transcend the borders of specialties, while maintaining a foothold in science and technology. We believe that cultivating such ability and supporting outstanding specialized skills are the role of liberal arts education. For this purpose, organizing a curriculum for liberal arts education should aim to cultivate the following types of ability. Ability to adopt a bird’s-eye perspective of nature, people, and society Ability to think logically and critically Communication skills Internationalism (ability to understand different cultures, languages, ethnic groups, and international issues) Self-management ability”   ----------------------------small musical interlude-------------------------------------   Whatever it was that he learned from University, be it Biology or his skill in “Internationalism”, he was able to get an interview at Square in 1998 to work in the sound department.   Apparently, his enthusiasm for rock and roll is what got him the job, as well as his sick skills on the guitar.   And he put that guitar skill to work with his first video game soundtrack credit for the game “Gekikuukan Pro Yakyuu At the End of the Century” in 1999. The game features his punk rock music tracks, as well as some of his sound design… Let’s take a listen to one of his first video game scores….   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zyj_AjLK7E8   Soken would continue to work on sports games for Square, until Square decided that they were done making them. Before that time, would compose tracks for the games  Nichibeikan Pro Baseball: Final League and the soccer simulator World Fantasista…   Here’s a bit of sound from that game:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IphGvVxw9x8   ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Now, Soken stayed quiet after the Sports Team was dissolved at square. My only assumption was that he was just lurking in sound design for various games, and not given any more opportunities to compose any music until 2005. There is some confusion regarding his credits, as Soken often went by pseudonyms during this time. It is believed that he co-created the piece "Endless Love, Endless Road” with Masashi Hamauzu and Tsuyoshi Sekito from a Final Fantasy X Tribute Album called “Feel/Go Dream Yuna & Tidus”in 2001. I don’t see any proof of this anywhere, but if Wikipedia says it, you know it’s true!!!!   I think it deserves a bit of a listen though, don’t you?   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqID7jQwnLQ   If you want more information on that album… It’s supposed to be songs about Tidus and Yuna… You can look up more if you want.   His next piece that we know of was the beginning jingle for the show “Square-Enix music TV” where Square’s video game composers would be interviewed and promote their music.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6hsXHXOEn8   On this front, in an attempt to promote himself, apparently he showed up at some kind of fan convention and fought some robots half-naked for Square-Enix players…   Perhaps this paid off, he got to compose one spoof soundtrack for Front Mission 5 called “Blue Stream”...   http://downloads.khinsider.com/game-soundtracks/album/front-mission-5-scars-of-the-war-original-soundtrack/321-blue-stream.mp3   And so his return to Composing was complete.   He would next go on to do the entire soundtrack for the Square/Nintendo collaboration Mario 3 on 3. Here’s a taste of that...   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehAZmNS6BPI&list=PLBBD787E4AD05D073   Now, as you can see, a lot of this stuff is more poppy in tone, and far from anything you’d hear in let’s say Final Fantasy 6, but I think that soken was just going pretty much where he was told. He contributed a remix for The Bouncer’s main theme, and he worked on Square-Enix’s web-based games Elebest, Game Brain, and Zenobuster.   He was moving up the ladder.   In 2007 he got the opportunity to play second fiddle to Kenji Ito on the score of Dawn of Mana in 2007.   Here’s his biggest contribution to that game, a track called “Sanctuary”... Sit back and relax for this one...   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDbxqrcxSkk   Now, that’s more like it, am I right?   Mr. Soken was still considered a mid-level composer in the company, and his next two projects “Nameless game” in 2008 would be a minor release on the DS, a Video Game adaptation of The Ring. The theme here, I think, shows that he can do more than pop, rock, and pretty piano pieces… He can create something epic...   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_8YugTt-Bc&list=PLfSOLl6OGya6nIZomTmyNp7MZaPnkt2f1&index=2   The last major game he’d work on before Final Fantasy XIV would be the game “Mario Sports Mix” in 2010.   I’ll play a bit of one of the pieces that showcases Soken’s punk rock style the most from this game…   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqjH20atoNE&list=PL8827B3786F638845&index=5   So, at some point he got hired on to do the sound direction for the 1.0 version of Final Fantasy XIV after this (Which, considering how huge the series is, that is still a massively important job in its own right). Nobuo Uematsu was making a one-off return to the series after going solo, and his shoes wouldn’t need to be filled until 1.0’s massive failure.   During the 1.0 to 2.0 debacle (you can listen to our FF14 review to learn all about that), Soken was given the double duty of directing the sound of both games. With no Uematsu, Soken had to fill in much of the soundtrack himself, eventually creating over 100 tracks for the new game, and later creating another 60 tracks for the Heavensward expansion.   Let’s go through a few of his most popular tracks from FF14. We’ll be putting up piano remixes these pieces, as I think that that may be the best way to truly appreciate the musicality of Soken--check the description for the links and check out the channels. For the true Soken audio, consult the game, or buy the albums.   This first one is called “Wailers and Waterwheels” arranged by Matt Fuss...   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmZRCxdvSvU&list=PLBEaChoG50t4iyMscJ9mwMc0fCEK2MNh3   Here’s a pretty cool version of “Leviathan” from Husky By the Geek...   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h37r9S0GdIs&index=13&list=PLpamuGhPkpi5sSydUiEYpP3FDpgeGdTP7   ...and we’ll play one more by the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra. This is “A New Hope”...   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p97GPoQDXfc   ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   For our closing statements on Masayoshi Soken, I’d like to say that I think he’s got incredible potential as far as his future work is concerned. Many FF14 players have gathered around his music in particular, praising it over Uematsu’s work on the same game.   I think the Jury’s still out on this one, but I sense great things from Masayoshi Soken in the future.   Let’s fade out with my favorite piece from Heavensward that I’ve heard so far… This is “Contention”. A remix by Benjamin Antony James…   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-9WEwgevEg

Ultima Final Fantasy | The Ultimate Final Fantasy Podcast

Final Fantasy XII began development in the year 2000, after Final Fantasy Xi’s announcement, and would become the game with the longest development time in history when it was finally released in 2006. The development was a tumultuous one as well as an expensive one, costing 35 Million USD to create, an estimated 12 million more than FF10.   The game was to be co-directed with Hiroyuki Ito (of FF6 and FF9 fame) and a man named Yasumi Matsuno, who had previously helmed and penned the very popular game Vagrant Story as well as Final Fantasy Tactics. It was Matsuno who had come up with the story of FF12, and Ito, along with battle designer Hiroshi Tomomatsu, was well underway with the creation of his new FF battle system called the “Active Dimension system”, drawing inspiration from the plays in American football.   It was to be a truly glorious combination of Square’s creative teams.   And Square-Enix spared no expense. The art team was shipped off to Turkey to draw up design ideas for the game, and much of the early development of FF12 was based upon custom-creating the tools used to make the game, drawing upon the same game engine as FF11 to create a type of MMO experience in a single player game.   A couple things about the early iterations of Final Fantasy 12: There was a planned 2-player mode. There were plans to allow for recruitments of non-player characters to join in mob hunts. There was a job system. Basch was initially meant to be the main character of the story.   But, as I said before, FF12’s development was a troubled one.   Halfway through production, Hironobu Sakaguchi, series creator, quit Square-Enix altogether, taking a huge chunk of the Final Fantasy XII development team with him to his new company, Mistwalker. Devastated by this blow to the project, co-director Yasumi Matsuno refused to come to work for a month after the split.   Rumors are that Matsuno was extremely temperamental after that. And in 2005 Matsuno stepped down from his position, claiming illness as the cause. He has since stated that though he had in-fact been sick, he felt he had disappointed the staff, shareholders, and fans who were looking forward to the game. Matsuno would later follow Sakaguchi to Mistwalker to work on the game Terra Battle.   Series veteran Nobuo Uematsu would also bow out of this Final Fantasy, leaving Square in 2004, Uematsu’s only tracks appearing on FF12 would be Final Fantasy’s main theme and the ending song, fitting called “Kiss me Goodbye”.   Hitoshi Sakimoto was the primary replacement for Uematsu, with a handful of tracks created by Square-Enix composers, Hayato Matsuo and Masaharu Iwata.   To finish up the game, Matsuno was hurriedly replaced by Hiroshi Minagawa to salvage the game. Later, that same person would be one of the staff members sent to save another troubled FF game, FF14.   Within this environment of ever-changing staff members, there were some ever-changing aspects of the game tacked on: The planned 2-player mode and NPC recruitment were dropped from FF12 due to hardware limitations, and the fact that trying to implement those systems would cause too many delays. The Job system was dropped as Square-Enix decided that such a complex system would “confuse the players” as well as make the game’s development even longer. This would later be put back in, in a way, with the release of a game called “Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System” in 2007. And lastly, Basch was deemed as too old and too tough of a character for the target demographic of the game, and in order to make up for this, the characters Vaan and Penelo were created. Vaan starting out as a tough guy and ending up an outgoing, spunky kid.   In 2005 a playable demo of FF12 was released with the game Dragon Quest 8, and in March of 2006 the full game followed in Japan. In october of 2006, North America received the game, and in February of 2007 it was released in Europe and Australia.   Despite all the setbacks, FF12 was a large commercial success, selling over 5 million copies and becoming the 4th biggest Ps2 game of 2006. It was also a mega-hit critically, winning multiple game of the year awards, and recieving top scores by many critics.   Yet, a few years later and FF12 is nearly forgotten. Often seen as a low-point in the series, many fans of the Final Fantasy series see 12 as a disappointment. In one of the reviews for the game, Gamespot criticized it for having the weakest soundtrack in the series, and many a youtube reviewer have expressed disinterest in the weak characters of Vaan and Penelo, saying that they had nothing to contribute to the story. Series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi said he couldn’t play more than the first 20 minutes, and executive producer Akitoshi Kawazu stated that although he was happy with the perfect famitsu score of 40/40 for the game, he felt that it was far from perfect, and that the storyline did not meet expectations.   The legacy of FF12 is a conflicting one indeed…   Remixes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pCzY801ZHE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHSpGvd-Jy8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsrgyCn8adU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWAJZ7rU2PY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv73PYw71rk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aX-wPtcq700

In this, our first episode with a title for the podcast, we discuss the strangeness of the Ouya and Penny Arcade Kickstarter projects, and wonder when exactly everything Kickstarter related is going to fall apart.  We also introduce a new segment of the show where we discuss games we are currently playing.  Sound quality is a bit better, thanks to Chris getting a new mic, but it's still a work in progress, and that's OK.
