Back in N-Space, we find ourselves in the very odd (but apparently extremely harmonious) society of Traken, ruled over by an apparently all-powerful Keeper in The Keeper of Traken! All is not as it seems, as an old, kinda crispy enemy lurks in the background, ready to steal all of our bodies in his quest to keep living… Join us as we discuss the clear influences of Shakespeare, how the Trakenites were able to procure weapons so quickly, the rampant use of ring tropes, how Adric calls the Doctor out on his nonsense, the issues with Trakenite architecture not being load-bearing, and the interesting story parallels between The Keeper of Traken and J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Welcome to the Crown & Anchor, Greyhounds! In this episode Marisa, Christian, and Brett have a conversation with Cinco Paul, the co-creator, executive producer, songwriter, and showrunner of Schmigadoon. In addition to Schmigadoon, Cinco Paul is also known for his work as a screenwriter for beloved films like Horton Hears a Who, The Lorax, The Secret Life of Pets, and the Despicable Me trilogy – all of which he worked on with his longtime friend and collaborator Ken Daurio. For the uninitiated, Schmigadoon is a musical comedy television series that centers on the relationship of two NYC doctors, Josh and Melissa – played by Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong, respectively. The show is a brilliant love letter to musical theater which also cleverly parodies many of the genre's most recognizable features through hilarious and heartfelt performances from the A-list cast of musical theatre stars. We here at Richmond Til We Die are huge fans of Schmigadoon. Luckily, Cinco's a big fan of Ted Lasso too, and so we were thrilled to have an opportunity to chat with the man who helped create another one of our favorite shows! And this is your official warning - there are some light spoilers for the first four episodes of Ted Lasso's third season as well the first three episodes of Schmigadoon's second season in this episode.More extensive show notes can be found on our website: https://www.tedlassopod.com/cinco-paul-schmigadoon-schmicago-ted-lassoRichmond Til We Die is an episode-by-episode conversation about the Apple TV+ show Ted Lasso, where we explore the characters, their relationships to each other, and how they're able to make us laugh until we can hardly breathe one moment and then feel with the deepest parts of our hearts the next. Webster's 1828 Dictionary defines forgiveness as “to pardon, to overlook an offense and treat the offender as not guilty.” We thought this was a very matter-of-fact definition for such a complex emotional process. Listen to Episode 31 of the Play Skillfully where Kathy and Lesli have a frank talk about what teaching children about forgiveness can look like in your home. 1. Examine your own family history with forgiveness. We don't want to parent on auto-pilot! Did your family easily forgive? Did your parents apologize to you and ask for forgiveness? How would you like to do things differently with your family? 2. Recognize that with small children, the foundation of forgiveness is developing the idea of inherent worth. Use stories such as “Horton Hears a Who” by Dr. Suess to develop empathy for others. After using stories to develop the idea of inherent worth, we want to move onto developing ideas of kindness, respect, and generosity. When a child is about 6 years old, they can developmentally begin to understand the causes and effects of people's actions. 3. Remember that forgiveness sometimes takes time! It does not always mean immediate reconciliation. Forgiveness is a choice and should never be forced on a child before they are ready.4. Always be there to help your child name their feelings. Validate their feelings of anger, sadness, or frustration without validating unwanted behavior that can come along with it. 5. Forgiveness demonstrates resilience, and this is a quality our children really need to take into their futures. They need the ability to repair, reframe and move on from conflict. Holding onto anger and resentment creates anxiety and depression. It is necessary for our mental health to learn to forgive.-Stories that build the foundation for forgiveness:Horton Hears a Who by Dr SuessMrs. Rosey Posey and the Yum-Yummy Birthday Cake by Robin Jones GunnThe Berenstain Bears and the Golden Rule by Mike Berenstain I Forgive You: Love We Can Hear, Ask For, and Give by Nicole LataifPunk the Skunk Learns to Say I'm Sorry by Misty BlackHow to Apologize by David LaRochelleThe Circles All Around Us by Brad MontegueThe Friend Who Forgives Storybook: A true story about how Peter failed and Jesus forgave by Dan Dewitt

Welcome back! In typical Shakespearean comedy fashion, when last we left our characters, everyone was in love with the wrong person and/or pretending to be someone they're not. Will Viola, Orsino, Olivia, and Sebastian ever figure this mess out?! Spoiler alert: yes. Join us as your hosts get a li'l wacky with it. Rachel doesn't suffer fools. Jackie finally comes to understand the true meaning of Theo leaving. Bekah declares the drama to be none of her affair. By far, our gayest episode yet. Topics include: sea plots, which characters need a hug, Dutchmen's beards, sugar babies, gay pirates (yes, Our Flag Means Death gets a mention), Stephen's pranks, the anti-insanity stone, Horton Hears a Who, Seussophobia, basilisk v. cockatrice, a wonderful boywife, and The Idiot Award. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
Let's get tiny, again. No but this time REALLY tiny. Like, Horton Hears a Who tiny. The whole Ant-Fam is coming on this journey, and we'll get to know another side of Jonathan Majors' compendium of charters, plus maybe we'll learn a little too much about Janet and Hank's "needs"...
In this episode of Joculation, LP shares his unique brand of comedy and satire on the news and headlines which matter most. The war in the Ukraine is ratcheting up, and leaders from countries around the world are bleating away in their United Nations knitting circles about the need for more effective diplomacy. You know, nothing says more effective diplomacy quite like swiping right on Tinder to fuck the war out of men on the frontline. In this episode, join LP as we discover how Russian soldiers invading the Ukraine are dressing up like missing members of The Village People band and feverishly updating their Tinder profiles on the front lines of the Ukrainian war - because somehow hooking up with someone before sending them to a re-education camp is the path to peace (https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/red-dawn-juan-russian-solders-trying-hook-ukrainian-girls-tinder). Forms and fields are the curse of the connected age because big data is big business, and nothing provides a such wonderful opportunity for responsive, eye-catching, and creative wordplay quite like the memo field for cash transfers from your bank, CashApp, Venmo and Paypal. Let's hear as LP regales us with the tale of just such a creative young man who decided to add a touch of distinctive word-play flair to his cash transfers to friends with payment memos labeled as, “jihad fees”, “Taliban Training”, and “ISIS Training” (https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/man-quizzed-bank-after-using-26249967). It's like a modern twist on the childhood classic “Horton Hears a Who.” The age of designer babies has descended upon humanity and through the miracle that is CRISPR, humans can design the sex babies with the same ease and comfort as designing a pair of custom Nike sneakers during Superbowl halftime. Yet, with all this ease and convenience, some people still wax nostalgic and prefer the old school method involving a Faith healer, a hammer, a nail, and the skull of the pregnant woman to guarantee the sex of their child (https://metro.co.uk/2022/02/11/faith-healer-hammered-nail-into-pregnant-womans-head-so-shed-have-baby-boy-16088206/). In this episode, LP fills us in on the faith healer who hammered a nail into the head of a pregnant woman to guarantee she'd have a baby boy. I mean, Jesus was a carpenter after all, right? In this episode of Journey to the Blue Sky, Arun and Patricia discuss about the 2008 Blue Sky Studios animated film Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who based on the 1954 book of the same name starring Jim Carrey, Steve Carrell, Carol Burnett, Will Arnett, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, and Amy Poehler. An elephant named Horton sees a floating speck on a pink flower hearing voices not knowing that an entire civilization of Whos living in a town called Whoville live there. The mayor of Whoville, Ned McDodd, notices earthquakes and weather changes happening all of a sudden. When Horton and Major McNodd learn about one another, Horton tries to take the speck to a safe location and Major McNodd tries to convince the Whos to postpone the celebration of Whoville with no luck. Both are trying to convince everyone of the situation, but they don't believe them. When the movie premiered in theaters, it made over $298 million dollars out of a $85 million dollar budget receiving positive reviews after both the disappointment of Ice Age: The Meltdown and the critical bashing of the previous Dr. Seuss movie adaptation, The Cat in the Hat. What did Arun and Patricia think of the movie? Listen and find out. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/old-school-lane/support

Derek Lundstedt founded symbiotic Cultures to strive toward sustainability while maintaining competitive quality. After seeing firsthand the lack of sustainable practices, unnecessary waste, and high carbon footprint in the commercial industry, Derek was determined to create a cultivation system that was less detrimental to our planet. This led him to his decision to grow in living soil using energy-efficient LEDs and environmental control equipment. He and his team also run greenhouses in the summer for water-extracted concentrates and are currently working on a new indoor facility powered by a solar field. Through their journey with living soil, they firmly believe it is the most effective cultivation technique for producing the cleanest and highest quality cannabis. Through Derek's long battle with chronic illness and relief from symptoms with the help of cannabis, he has become dedicated to providing clean medicine to his patients. Patient consultations are always welcomed, and more information can be found at Symbiotic Culture's website www.SymbioticCultures.me. You can also follow them on Instagram @Symbiotic.Cultures.
