Forget mere tombs—these monolithic marvels were plasma-scalar powerhouses, engineered to shatter Ice Ages, harness cosmic energies, and ignite humanity's latent potential. From Giza's stellar alignments to Nazca's Tesla-encoded lines, Walton unveils a global grid of forgotten tech: Osiris chambers as sun-reviving generators, retranslated Egyptian papyri as energy blueprints, and even America's pharaonic origins. GUEST: Captain Leo Walton is a retired USCG Merchant Marine Captain, marine forensics expert with over 2,500 investigations, and lifelong explorer who's sailed 25,000+ miles. From nuclear engineering on Navy vessels to inventing critical infrastructure like 9/11's life-saving fire systems, his career spans firefighting, corporate management, and global adventures in Egypt, Central America, and Bosnia. A 2007 near-death experience sparked a Kundalini awakening, redirecting him to pyramid research—positing them as advanced energy and climate devices, not tombs. Author of "The Giza Park Protocol" series and lecturer for Near-Death Studies groups, Walton blends science, consciousness, and ancient mysteries to rewrite humanity's dawn. Elephants are the largest living land mammal and today our planet is home to three species: the African bush elephant, the African forest elephant, and the Asian elephant. But a hundred thousand years ago, in the chilly depths of the Ice Age, multiple species of elephant roamed the earth: from dog-sized dwarf elephants to towering woolly mammoths. These gentle giants' evolutionary story and its parallels with that of humankind has long fascinated Dr Tori Herridge, a senior lecturer in evolutionary biology at the University of Sheffield, where - as a seasoned science broadcaster - she's also responsible for their Masters course in Science Communication.Tori has spent much of her life studying fossil elephants and the sites where they were excavated; trying to establish facts behind relics that are far beyond the reach of Radio Carbon Dating. To date she's discovered dwarf mammoths on Mediterranean islands, retraced the groundbreaking Greek expedition of a female palaeontologist in the early 1900s, and even held an ancient woolly mammoth's liver. (Verdict: stinky.)But as she tells Professor Jim Al-Khalili, this passion for fossil-hunting is not just about understanding the past: this information is what will help us protect present-day elephants and the world around them for future generations.Presented by Jim Al-Khalili Produced for BBC Studios by Lucy Taylor Reversion for World Service by Minnie Harrop

There are periods where certain characters have more of a spotlight than others. Sure, there are always a lot of Batman stories, Joker stories. But then there are pockets of time when we get lots of stories focused on Jim Gordon or the Riddler. Between 2003 and 2006, Mr. Freeze had his day. He appeared in major stories like "Under the Hood" and "City of Crime" in supporting roles, and was central to other stories. This week, John Wickham joins us again to talk about three of these stories: the final arc of the first Batgirl series where Freeze is a small player, a one off fill-in issue and a Legends of the Dark Knight arc with a different vision of Freeze's origin. Destruction's Daughter (Batgirl V.1 #66-73) Fire & Ice (Batman: Gotham Knights #59) Snow (Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #192-196) Check out our current ranking list at www.comicsxf.com/batchat-rankings/ Thanks to Geri Nonnewitz for our podcast logo Support the show on Patreon at www.patreon.com/batchatwithmattandwill

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesWhile speaking with Variety for a cover story, Gambit actor Channing Tatum revealed that he will be toning down the intentionally unintelligible Cajun accent he used in Deadpool & Wolverine for Avengers: Doomsday, as the Russo Brothers want to "keep the drama" and avoid going "full Deadpool" with the character. The actor also confirmed he suffered an on-set injury that required pain medication and will need six months of physical therapy as production on the film continues.Star Wars: Starfighter has officially locked in its ensemble cast, with Amy Adams, Aaron Pierre, Matt Smith, who will play a villain according to sources at Deadline, Mia Goth and newcomer Flynn Gray among the latest to board the space opera alongside Ryan Gosling in the lead. The trailer showcases tons of undead violence and features the debut of Blade Knight, a Moon Knight and Blade variant who slices up zombie Avengers in spectacular fashion.Disney Animation Studios' next original film will be titled Hexed. The official logline reads “Disney's Hexed is an all-new original film that follows an awkward teenage boy and his Type A mom, who discover that what makes him unusual, might just be magical powers that will turn their lives and a secret world of magic, upside down.”Warner Bros. has pushed back the release date of Mortal Kombat II to May 15, 2026, after it was previously slated for release in two months on Oct. 24.Ice Age 6 is officially titled Ice Age: Boiling Point and will debut in theaters on Feb. 5, 2027.HBO has announced casting news for several Hogwarts professors and students for the upcoming Harry Potter adaptation series including Warwick Davis who will play the role of Professor Flitwick, a role he played in the original films.Weapons, which lost its No. 1 position last weekend to Netflix's K-Pop Demon Hunters, reclaimed its crown, earning an estimated $12.8 million over the four-day holiday. Scientists are working on some amazing projects to bring extinct animals back to life by 2028! The woolly mammoth, a giant furry elephant-like creature that roamed the Ice Age, is one of the top candidates. Using DNA from frozen mammoths and mixing it with modern elephant DNA, researchers hope to recreate a living version of this long-lost species. They're also trying to bring back the Tasmanian tiger, a wolf-like marsupial that disappeared in the 1930s. These "de-extinction" projects could help restore ecosystems and teach us more about conservation, though some people worry about the risks of playing with nature. If successful, these animals might walk the Earth again in just a few years! Encore | Why Agriculture? Climate Change and the Origins of Farming ~ Andrea Matranga

Climate. Weathers. History. Here's an encore episode to wrap up the mini-series on these themes! This episode on the puzzling origins of farming is one of my all-time favourites on the show. I thought it was a good time to put it out again. You can also read my essay on the topic here.Enjoy!~ORIGINAL SHOW NOTESAgriculture changed everything. Traditionally, this “Neolithic Revolution” was celebrated for opening the gates of civilisation. Recently, it has been compared to the original sin. But whatever our take on agriculture, we should be puzzled by one thing: Why did our ancestors start to farm in the first place? It's not like early farmers had improved lives. Quite the opposite, they worked harder and suffered from worse health. So why did so early farmers stick to it? And why did farming spread so far and wide?Andrea Matranga thinks he has the answer. An economic historian at the University of Torino, Matranga links agriculture to climate change. This is not a new idea — not as such. After all, agriculture developed in lockstep with the end of Ice Ages. For years, this vague link has formed my own pet-theory on the matter. But I never paused to reflect on the obvious problem with it. There was never an “Ice Age” in Sudan. Why didn't humans just farm there? Matranga has the answer to this and many other puzzles. And surprisingly, his answer is linked to the movements of Jupiter. I will let him tell you why.We begin this episode covering some previous theories on the origins of agriculture. Next, we dissect Matranga's theory and the evidence for it. Towards the end, we talk about the spread of farming — peaceful and violent — and note a neglected downside to the hunter-gatherer lifestyle. As always, we finish with my guest's reflection on humanity.LINKSYou can find my summary of Matranga's theory with links to academic articles at OnHumans.Substack.com.Do you like On Humans? She shares insights into the types of tools, bone modifications, and site features that point to deliberate human activity—offering a glimpse into the complex and skilled lifeways of Paleoindigenous peoples. The discussion also highlights what these mammoth kills reveal about how early humans adapted to shifting environments at the end of the Ice Age, providing crucial context for understanding the transition into the Archaic period. Dr. Mackie closes with a call to action: the Plains needs more archaeologists dedicated to uncovering and interpreting the Archaic period—one of the most understudied and dynamic chapters of Indigenous history.TranscriptsFor a rough transcript of this episode, head over to https://www.archaeologypodcastnetwork.com/great-plains-archaeology/24LinksThe Archaeology of the North American Great Plains by Douglas B. Send us a textWhat happens when someone who once hated running decides to lace up their shoes at age 32? Ben Bloedorn's transformation from self-proclaimed non-athlete to ultramarathon finisher reveals the profound parallel between running and life's broader challenges.Beginning with his first painful 5K in 2019, Ben shares how completing that initial race ignited something unexpected - the question "what's next?" That curiosity propelled him from suffering through shin splints to conquering a 50-mile ultramarathon at the Ice Age 50, despite significant setbacks including knee injuries and failed race attempts along the way.Ben's evolution mirrors what many reluctant runners experience - that moment of looking in the mirror, not liking what they see, and deciding something must change. His candid insights about training mishaps (like the snow-covered 20-hour Arctos race he abandoned) offer valuable perspective for new and experienced runners alike. The conversation explores the psychological aspects of progress, including the counterintuitive value of rest periods and how training data can sometimes become an unhealthy obsession. What makes this episode special is Ben's authentic reflection on how running becomes more than exercise - it transforms into a practice that builds discipline, resilience, and self-knowledge applicable to every area of life. As he beautifully notes, "I have never come back from a run and felt worse than before I left." It's this simple truth that keeps runners returning to the roads and trails despite the inevitable suffering that comes with pushing physical limits.Whether you're contemplating your first 5K or training for an ultramarathon, Ben's journey offers both practical advice and philosophical perspective on embracing discomfort as the pathway to growth. For fans of the compelling critical and investigative style of best-selling authors Graham Hancock and Brian Muraresku, the first detailed account of the history and science of the world's strangest and most mysterious drug - DMT.DMT is the world's strangest and most mysterious drug, inducing one of the most remarkable and yet least understood of all states of consciousness. This common plant molecule has, from ancient times to the modern day, been used as a tool to gain access to a bizarre alien reality of inordinate complexity and unimaginable strangeness, populated by a panoply of highly advanced, intelligent, and communicative beings entirely not of this world. In a story that begins in the Amazonian rainforests and ends somewhere beyond the stars, Andrew Gallimore presents the first detailed account of the discovery of DMT and science's continuing struggle to explain how such a simple and common plant molecule can have such astonishing effects on the human mind. The history of the drug involves many fascinating characters from the scientific and literary worlds ― including legendary ethnobotanist Dr. Richard Schultes; renegade beat writer and drug aficionado William S. Burroughs; philosopher and raconteur Terence McKenna; and the high priest of the 1960s psychedelic revolution, Dr. Timothy Leary. In the end, the story of DMT forces us to reconsider our most basic assumptions about the nature of reality and our place within it.ANDREW R. GALLIMORE is a chemical pharmacologist, neurobiologist, and writer, and one of the world's leading experts on psychedelics. He is the author of two books on the science of psychedelics, Alien Information Theory: Psychedelic Drug Technologies and the Cosmic Game and Reality Switch Technologies: Psychedelics as Tools for the Discovery and Exploration of New Worlds.
