After a quieter stretch, the transits come roaring back—14 this week alone. Don't worry, we've got you covered. We're opening with the Grand Water Trine that closed last week and continues into this one: Sun in Scorpio, Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Pisces. Mercury will trace this same configuration later in the week as it retrogrades back through Scorpio. Meanwhile, Mercury begins the week in Sagittarius sextile Pluto in Aquarius, then retrogrades into Scorpio to meet the Grand Water Trine—while the Sun does the opposite, moving from Scorpio into Sagittarius to pick up that Pluto sextile where Mercury left off. It's a clean handoff, the same energies passing between them.Adding to the intensity: the New Moon in Scorpio arrives conjunct Mercury retrograde—a cazimi moment that amplifies the potency of this cycle. And here's where it gets even more significant: Uranus retrograde in Taurus forms an exact sextile with Neptune retrograde in Pisces, and both align with this New Moon-Mercury conjunction in Scorpio. It's all converging. There's a lot of repetition and reinforcement here, all of it pointing in the same direction: honest communication, deep vulnerability, and the courage to either heal or sever the karmic connections that are no longer serving you. This is a week for saying what's been unsaid, for letting go of what you've been clutching, and for trusting that the truth—however uncomfortable—is the foundation for what comes next.(6:39) Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius Sextile Pluto in Aquarius 1° – November 15 – 18 (Saturday – Tuesday) – Exact Monday, November 17. Mercury is offically retrograde, but so are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. We're in a season of reflection and recalibration. If we were only to march forward, we'd never develop an appreciation for how far we've come. Use these next few weeks to reconsider where you've been this year, even simply how you've grown and expanded since June (thanks Jupiter in Cancer). This is a time for finishing up old business and if there is something that you know you've got to release, but it's just so dang hard to let go of… The New Moon at 28° Scorpio on November 20th will help. Jordan Sather and Nate Prince return with a packed episode of MAHA News, diving straight into winter wellness, immune support tricks, and the value of natural remedies before tackling the week's biggest health and agriculture stories. They break down Oregon and Washington's aggressive new regulations on small farmers, from redefining CAFOs to six-figure compliance demands and even satellite-based enforcement, highlighting how state governments are squeezing ranchers and threatening local food systems. Jordan and Nate also examine the booming GLP-1 weight-loss drug craze, Trump and RFK Jr.'s push to slash prices, and why these drugs should remain a last resort. The discussion expands to RFK Jr.'s announcement that mercury will finally be gone from vaccines, the upcoming overhaul of U.S. dietary guidelines, and the potential fallout of Congress closing the Delta-8 hemp loophole, putting much of the CBD industry at risk. Packed with analysis, personal insight, and forward-looking health strategies, this episode covers the shifting landscape of nutrition, policy, and natural living.
Greetings from Upstate New York — This episode tracks the Moon and (retrograde) Mercury through the formation of a remarkable New Moon in Scorpio on Nov. 20. The fancy flourish at the beginning of the retrograde was Mercury backing into a conjunction with Mars on Wednesday. This is a perplexing form of hot-headedness, potentially containing the ingredients of bad decisions and over-generalizations. Yet at its best, retrograde Mercury conjunct Mars gives rise to real questions, including questioning one's own opinion, or discovering that you overlooked a few things. Meantime, the Moon is waning toward the new phase, on Nov. 20. This is an impressive lunation with Mercury making yet another conjunction — this time to the Moon and the Sun. So it's a New Moon conjunct Mercury retrograde. Before that: the Moon entered Virgo Wednesday evening. It'll enter Libra at 4:43 am EST on Saturday, Nov. 15. Then it will enter Scorpio on Monday, Nov. 17 at 4:44 pm EST. The next day retrograde Mercury re-enters Scorpio, followed by the New Moon conjunct Mercury overnight Wednesday to Thursday, Nov. 19-20. So far, Mercury retrograde is off to a rollicking start. More on Starcast above, and on Friday's Planet Waves FM.Thank you for visiting. You are listening to Planet Waves. The Washington Monthly called him as "one of America's most important journalists." The Portland Oregonian said his work equals the original muckrakers: Ida Tarbell, Upton Sinclair and Lincoln Steffens. Johnston met Donald Trump in 1988 and in April 1990 revealed that Trump's was no billionaire. When Trump announced his latest run for the White House in June 2015, Johnston was the only nationally-known journalist who immediately said Trump was serious this time and might get the GOP nomination. His reporting over the next year led to the Making of Donald Trump, published around the world in English and German on August 2, 2016, by Melville House. The San Jose Mercury recruited Johnston when he was just 18 years old because of his reporting for two small weekly newspapers in Santa Cruz, Calif. At age 19 The Mercury hired him as a staff writer. Within weeks his byline made the front page. Over the next four decades his award-winning investigations appeared in that paper, the Detroit Free Press, Los Angeles Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer and The New York Times. Since 2009 Johnston has taught the business regulation, property and tax law of the ancient world at Syracuse University College of Law. He previously taught writing, reporting and magazine writing at the University of Southern California and UCLA Extension. In this episode of Run the Numbers, CJ Gustafson sits down with Colin Gardiner, General Partner at Yonder VC and former Chief Revenue and Product Officer at Outdoorsy, to unpack what really drives successful marketplace businesses. Colin shares lessons from scaling a peer-to-peer RV platform, where the biggest unlock came not from casual users but from power hosts optimizing utilization and yield through the SaaS tools they built. He introduces his “Marketplace Plus” investing framework—showing how layering SaaS and professional tools can transform a platform into an operating system—and where founders risk overreaching by taking on inventory or managing supply too tightly. The conversation dives deep into monetization, pricing psychology, take rates, and the fine balance between product-market fit and margin obsession, before zooming out to explore how AI and the decline of SEO are reshaping marketplace discovery.—LINKS:Colin on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/colingardiner/Company: https://www.yonder.vc/CJ on X (@cjgustafson222): https://x.com/cjgustafson222Mostly metrics: https://www.mostlymetrics.com—RELATED EPISODES:996 Culture, Exploding AI Bills & SaaS Chaoshttps://youtu.be/qhrxDL0gsRo“Keep the Take Rate Low” - Turo's Chuck Fisher on Scaling a Successful Peer-to-peerhttps://youtu.be/LKH8o1MjnZoThe Art of Stacking S-Curves: Olo's Winning Vertical SaaS Strategy with CFO Peter Benevideshttps://youtu.be/1X2VoYogj44—TIMESTAMPS:00:00:00 Intro and Guest Overview00:02:57 Sponsors – RightRev, Tipalti, and Aleph00:07:13 Outdoorsy and the RV Market00:10:33 Balancing Supply and Demand00:13:05 Marketplace Plus Model00:16:59 Sponsors – Fidelity Private Shares, Metronome, and Mercury00:21:45 Professionalizing Marketplaces00:24:10 Building Software, Insurance, and Financing Layers00:28:07 Avoiding Fully Managed Models00:32:34 Take Rates and Pricing Strategy00:35:00 Monetizing Both Sides00:37:06 Advertising and Marketplace Scale00:39:48 Marketplaces Meet Social Platforms00:42:36 AI and Marketplace Distribution00:45:54 AI Agents and Matchmaking00:47:03 When AI Becomes the Supply00:49:09 Negative Gross Margins and Scale00:53:04 Picking a Side – Supply or Demand00:54:35 Branding, Utilization, and Growth00:55:42 Closing and Credits—SPONSORS:RightRev automates the revenue recognition process from end to end, gives you real-time insights, and ensures ASC 606 / IFRS 15 compliance—all while closing books faster.
