Time Warp Radio: The Rocky Horror Picture Show Movie-by-Minute Podcast
We are discussing our most recent movie minutes with John Flynn and Mark Rennie, the incredible hosts of one of our favorite pods TWO OLD QUEENS. Mark and John’s show pegs the question: “What is the gayest movie ever made?” and we were thrilled, chilled and fulfilled to argue our obvious choice, the Rocky Horror Picture Show. We had the best time EVER (seriously: listen to our episode here https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/two-old-queens/id1469312045?i=1000508461864) so we HAD to have them on to continue our conversation! We talk Rocky Horror as astrology (is your sun in Frank? Or do you have a Magenta rising?), how you never really retire from shadowcasting, the film as a gateway for other queer, culty media, and *is* Mark related to Michael Rennie aka who was ill the day the earth stood still?? Listen to find out! Thanks so much to John and Mark for talking with us, and thanks to you for tuning in to this special presentation! And don’t forget, on Wednesday’s we watch Rocky!✨

This week, Nadia and Steve welcome back writer and host Mark Rennie (@markrennie) about the specific topic of the Winchester Mystery House, a sprawling mansion under constant construction built by the widow and heir to the Winchester rifle fortune. Is this San Jose historic landmark actually haunted? What's with the staircases to nowhere? Is $9 a good deal for a virtual tour? Should more religious folks buy a boat? And is Mr. Holland's opus any good?! Let's do this again some time!
You are going to have so much fun with the amazingly hilarious Mark Rennie (TWO OLD QUEENS podcast) Stanger and special guest host Erin McGown get Mark involved early when they answer a listener question about the right approach to exercise as an expecting father and what to do when the baby shows up? The group has a good time roasting the question but also legitimately answering it - ask a question and you'll get a complimentary roast from time to time! Beyond that, Stanger, McGown and Rennie talk about the real reasons we should take care of ourselves as well as how they plan to indulge this holiday without taking it too far. Also - you better believe movies are discussed a lot this episode and Stanger may or may not do a Stallone impression.

Finally, the sweet relief she’s been looking for! They discuss their last hang before the shut down which was, you guessed it, a double date with each other. And finally, Mark and Alana talk about how their minimal workouts and routine have had a maximum effect on their self esteem. Seems like things are really turning around for Alana except in her intro where she literally flies off the handle and cusses out the world. On this week's episode, Alana and her guest Mark Rennie (Two Old Queens podcast) discuss all things Pandemi! Mark admits the Pandemi is absolutely not his fault and convinces Alana to think the same. Finally, the sweet relief she's been looking for! Producer/husband/roommate Norm Sousa has HAD IT with the Pandemi and the fires and makes sure the entire world knows it in his own weird, quiet way. Oh Norm, could you be any cuter? NO.

This week on Food Court with Richard Blais the hosts of the podcast Two Old Queens have brought a fast food case fit for a drive thru. Comedian and writer Mark Rennie believes that McDonald's is the iconic choice whereas actor and writer John Flynn would rather have it his way over at Burger King. Hi everyone! We hope you're all staying safe and healthy at home! a week or two before we locked down, we had special guests John Flynn & Mark Rennie (Two Old Queens) join us to talk about the 2009 vampire flick, Daybreakers. We do kind of categorize this as a zombie/plague kind of movie, so if you don't really want to hear about that right now, we totally understand and we'll see you all next week! That being said, we had a really great time talking about this pretty bonkers movie starring Sam Neill, Willem Dafoe, and (of course) Ethan Hawke! Let us know what you think of the episode or the movie or whatever you want on any social media platform @hawkeyespod. Cacaw!

You're trash! Let's do this again some time!

We find hilarious writer and comedian Mark Rennie (@markrenie) in the Pixar vault and chat about new and GROUNDBREAKING TECHNOLOGY! These the little films paved the way for the innovative films we now demand excellence of before our Pixar features we ALSO demand excellence of. The Adventures of Andre and Wally B (1984), Luxo Jr. (1986), Red’s Dream (1987), and Tin Toy (1988), are four little adventures that seem simply by today’s standards, but oh BOY were they standing ovation worthy back in the day! Luxo Jr.’s even stood the test of time and become synonymous with the quality we’ve come to expect and trust from Pixar. Would you rather be a lumpy baby or a creepy clown? Tell us @ITDVPodcast!
There's two guest on today's episode! Mark Rennie talks about the time he got shot at and Jennie Pierson talks about her first date. They had to share a mic, so bare with the sound issues!

Mark plays some games with us and is playing for The Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25. Ryan Meharry (Bangarang!, Black-ish) and Mark Rennie (Gay of Thrones, All Access Avery) were once teammates on a UCB sketch team called Goodman, but today they are improvising together on The MEAT. This week, we keep the summer spirit alive with Jess back from Hawaii and special guest Mark Rennie (FunnyOrDie's "Gay of Thrones," The Onion) sitting in! There's SO MUCH MORE Rob and Chyna drama to dissect, even after last week's emergency ep devoted to it all. Also, we speculate about how truly terrible Life Of Kylie is rumored to be and have a blast testing Mark's admittedly spotty knowledge of the sprawling Kardashian clan.

Mark Rennie is the director of UCB Maude team "Karate Karate" and he is also one of the creators of the popular web series "Gay of Thrones" on Funny or Die. Mark was kind enough to come in and meet with us and talk about finding our personal voices. It was a good discussion about how we should be writing what makes us laugh and writing what we want to see on a stage. He has many great ideas about comedy and my personal favorite was "who cares what assholes think?" Who cares, indeed Mark. Who cares indeed. This week we talk to the comedy black belt champion, Kerry O'Neill, from the UCB Maude Team Karate Karate. Kerry brings a sense of realness and honesty to this episode. She's from NYC and moved to Los Angeles twice, which in itself is a real feat. We talk about everything from working at a wing restaurant, to Harolds, to the importance of never underselling your pitches, which may be the best lesson one can take away from this podcast. We pitched off of 3 short but true monologues about ourselves and brought in one pagers from last week's episode with another great Maude writer, Kale Hills. Kerry was generous enough to help us extrapolate on our brief ideas and give us some great advice on how to move them forward into a full length sketch which you will hear next week. You can watch Kerry's sketches on Karate Karate during Maude night (next show March 22nd) Get tickets HERE: https://www.ucbtheatre.com/show/1684 Follow Kerry on Twitter: @iamkerryoneill Follow us on Twitter: @FOOWpod @imtweedy @jeremiahburton1 See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
