Dave Mustaine is the co-founder, frontman, primary songwriter, and sole consistent member of the thrash metal band Megadeth. A pioneer of the American thrash metal movement, Mustaine formed Megadeth in 1983 after his departure from Metallica, where he served as lead guitarist and co-songwriter. With Megadeth, he has released sixteen studio albums, sold over 50 million records worldwide, earned six platinum certifications, and won a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2017 for the title track of Dystopia. Known for his intricate guitar work, snarling vocal style, and lyrics exploring war, politics, and personal struggles, Mustaine remains a towering figure in heavy metal. Despite overcoming challenges like substance abuse, a 2002 arm injury, and throat cancer in 2019, he continues to tour and create music, with Megadeth's latest album, The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!, released in 2022. He is working on his 17th album. Mustaine is also expanding his family's wine venture, House of Mustaine, and mentors emerging artists. How should you count The Police's "Bed's Too Big Without You?" Why do so many people revere Marty Friedman's solo on Megadeth's "Tornado of Souls"? What's going on with those pauses during the Bluey theme? And what the heck is that sound on Sly and the Family Stone's "Sex Machine"? The gang has swapped places, Alan is back in Perth and now it's Thom's turn to hit Antarctica. He's out with the Schmidt Ocean Institute on the Antarctic Climate Connections expedition to the Bellinghousen Sea, to the west of the Antarctic Peninsula. He will record, edit and upload a podcast from there… somehow. This episode may sound a little rougher as a result, but the content is gold as ever… Underrated belter alert. The Prof managed to have some downtime with the family in Antarctica and has some great stories to tell, he's a chopper guy now. He's over subs and only into helicopters now… the subs of the sky. We talk to Antarctic fishes expert Thomas Desvignes about the fishes that are only found there and their amazing adaptations. Of course, we also have a remote coffee with Andrew. We're really trying to make this project self-sustaining so we have started looking for ways to support the podcast. Here's a link to our page on how to support us, from the free options to becoming a patron of the show. We want to say a huge thank you to those patrons who have already pledged to support us: Thanks again for tuning in, we'll deep-see you next time! Check out our podcast merch here! The stunning conclusion to the Birds of Prey Megadeath series is in! What are your thoughts? Let us know at www.thehuntresspodcast.com X @HuntressPodcast feathersandfoes@gmail.com We enjoyed this introduction to volume 5 of Birds of Prey and over the moon about what's to come in the ongoing adventures of the Birds of Prey!
In Tyson's own words: “I have been playing professionally in clubs and venues all over the US and Globally since 1988. Originally from Kansas City, I migrated to Nashville to pursue my dream further to be in a touring act, Upon living here for three months, I landed the keyboard spot for 90s country superstar Tracy Lawrence. Previous to my tenure with Lawrence, I performed with Corey Taylor of the heavy metal juggernaut Slipknot and Stone Sour in the short-lived band Corey Taylor and the Junk Beer Kidnap Band. Essentially it's the prequel to his current solo outing CMFT. In 2017, I was hired as the keyboardist for late 80s hard rock all-female sensation Vixen and am still touring the world with them. In addition to touring work, I've been a Dueling pianist since 2012 working at venues like Howl At The Moon and currently The Big Bang in Nashville, TN. I've also performed on the Kid Rock Cruise. The KISS cruise. The Megadeth cruise. Monsters Of Rock, Shiprocked, The 80s Cruise, and the Rob Gronkowski cruise among others. I released a solo album in 2013. In 2016 I released a follow-up single titled “Cradle To The Grave”. In 2020, I produced a country album for Singer/Songwriter Dew Pendleton called “Might As Well Be Me”. And on New Year's Eve, I released a hard rock single called “Burning Time” which featured members of Queensryche, Vixen, Mr. Big, and Autograph. When I'm not on the road you can often see me performing between 6-7 nights a week on lower Broadway in Nashville or performing at a Dueling Piano bar somewhere in the country. I've also recorded for 80s sleaze rockers Faster Pussycat and David Ellefson of Megadeth, Enuff Z'Nuff, blues artist Amanda Fish, and numerous independent artist releases for artists of various genres. In January when the last chime on the clock ceases to vibrate at midnight, some people believe that 2022 will be secretly known as Year Zero. What we will be seeing in the future are a number of preparatory events, all pointing into the direction of a worldwide monumental historic disaster. They will be used as an excuse to reverse all previous normality into a new normal, a new order and a new year free of the spiritual and transcendent nature of humanity. Tonight on Ground Zero, Clyde Lewis talks with the founder of Reverse Speech, David Oates about THE MEGADEATH NARRATIVE - NORMALCY IN REVERSE.Originally Broadcast on 12/30/21
The Feathers and Foes crew are back to talk about Birds of Prey issue 4: Megadeath part 4, where we are getting some plot and a lot of action! The away team, Birds of Prey, are taking on the Amazons toe to toe. Leonardo Romero's pencils are smash mouth in your face pop art fun. Kelly Thompson's writing as far as plot, blocking and character moments are more than commendable. And Jordie Bellaire's writing is just a perfect complement to the tone of the book as a whole. The only shortcoming of the issue is the length. We want more, darn it. ESP was founded in 2015 by Timothy Moss. The band's concept and music was inspired by Timothy's travels in the Middle East and events in the US. The band's first release, “Call To Arms” was produced by Wyn Davis at Total Access Recording Studios in Redondo Beach, CA . The release on Starwest Entertainment Records was well received and garnered industry interest. After the pandemic it was decided to reconfigure the band with top industry talent for the next release. With help from Wyn Davis and Steve Ornest, Tim “Ripper” Owens (vocals formerly with Judas Priest), Vinny Appice (drums formerly with Axis, Dio, and Black Sabbath) and Jo Jo Brown (guitars) joined Timothy in California to record “Digital Soldiers”. The songs written by Timothy Moss and Jo Jo Brown were greatly enhanced with the addition of Ripper and Vinny. Their professionalism helped take the band to the new level the group was seeking. After the release of “Digital Soldiers” a new touring line up was needed. Sean Salinas, a multi-product endorsed artist (Promark Drumsticks, Evans Drumheads, and Diril Cymbals) and former drummer for two productions with Cirque du Soleil (KA and Zumanity) joined the group. The combination of Sean's incredible drumming with Timothy's bass playing provided the solid foundation. Jo Jo Brown's unique signature playing and writing style was a catalyst and perfect fit for the band. Kris Keyes, formerly with Gargantua Soul and Dive Bomber, joined as lead singer. Kris has appeared with his band on the Rage Against the Machine tour and performed at Woodstock 1999 . At different times these artists have appeared on shows with Korn, Megadeath, and Stone Temple Pilots, to name a few. Feathers and Foes discuss the Birds breaking into Themiscara, Wonder Woman's homeland, in order to get Black Canary's little sister, Sin. Amazing art, cool plotting and writing, and some great character moments. And the action scenes in this one are more than special and extraordinary. www.thehuntresspodcast.com Twitter @HuntressPodcast Threads and Bluesky: @Huestone44 www.patreon.com/wrightonnetwork

Writer: Kelly Thompson Penciller: Leonardo Romero Colorist: Jordie Bellaire Letters by Clayton Cowles Editor: Ben Abernathy In Megadeath 2, Black Canary's "ad hoc" team has accepted their mission to go on a hopefully clandestine operation, entering Themyscira, rescuing Black Canary's sister, Sin, and exiting the premises without having a showdown with an Amazon. If it doesn't sound easy, it isn't. Even Zealot, a fierce warrior, wants no part in killing Amazons. Dinah reassures everyone that no one is killing Amazons. After the meeting is adjourned, the Birds of Prey disperse in different directions to carry out the mission, yet somehow dovetailing back as a unit in an incredible fight scene pencilled by Leonardo Romero. Shady Magicians and Talking Sharks are just the tip of the Spear when it comes to the fun that is Birds of Prey 2: Megadeath 2. Writer Kelly Thompson brings the pain with issue 1 of Birds of Prey: Megadeath Part 1. Her debut to Birds of Prey and DC Comics all together is spectacular. Characters are well defined enough to help you understand who they are or make you intrigue enough to make you want to come back. Artist Leonardo Romero's pencil work breaths life and light to each one of these heroes, displaying the most nuance countenances that can only be described as master class. Jordie Bellaire's colors add to this lo-fi atmosphere of the book, which add value to this loud, stealthy team. The Mall of America, in Bloomington, Minnesota, opened on 11th August, 1992, with more than 10,000 employees, 330 stores, and a Camp Snoopy theme park. With a gross area of 4.8 million square feet, the mall remains the largest in the United States; its roughly 40 million annual visitors equal to around eight times the population of the state of Minnesota. In this episode, Arion, Rebecca and Olly reveal how the mall is heated, despite having no central heating system; explain how the modern American shopping mall was, bizarrely, derived from Victor Gruen's socialist utopia; and consider how it overcame the ‘Megadeath' label to become one of America's top tourist attractions… Further Reading: • ‘Why You Should Visit Mall of America for Its Experiences Over Shopping' (Business Insider, 2022): https://www.businessinsider.com/photos-mall-of-america-experiences-better-than-shopping-minneapolis-2022-4?r=US&IR=T#away-from-the-big-attractions-that-make-it-unique-mall-of-america-just-felt-like-any-upscale-mall-35 • ‘The Unofficial Guide to Mall of America - By Beth Blair' (Unofficial Guides, 2016): https://www.google.co.uk/books/edition/The_Unofficial_Guide_to_Mall_of_America/U4wWDgAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=mall+of+america&pg=PA12&printsec=frontcover • ‘Mall of America Preview' (WCCO 4 News, 1992): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PZcP4A5CkQ #80s #US #Business #Fashion #Architecture Love the show? I finally got the chance to speak with the bass god himself - Steve Digorgio before a show for Death to All. I stuck with the Death theme for this one so we went way back to how he met Chuck, how he was in and out of the band even from the early days, writing/recording Human & Individual Thought Patterns, his friendship with Chuck, what it was like working with Chuck near the end of his life, working on Control Denied, & even his experience working on the latest Megadeath album.
