After spending 10 years in equestrian show jumping competition, Taylor Hagler traded in the horse for horsepower in 2018. This was a natural progression, as Taylor and her father have been lifelong sports car racing fans. Taylor moved into Spec Miata in NASA Texas and has proven to be a quick study in sports car racing. In her first season of competition, Taylor worked up to 5th place of 69 drivers in the NASA Texas Spec Miata championship. These strong performances caught the eye of the X-Factor Racing team who was plotting a return to professional racing. With this deal, Taylor began testing in the potent Honda Civic for her professional debut at Circuit of the Americas in March of 2019.In her debut weekend in TC America, Taylor was able to earn her first podium finish in front of family, friends, and a home crowd at Circuit of the Americas in Elroy, Texas. She followed up her early season success with another podium finish and her first career pole position at Watkins Glen. As a result of her consistent improvement throughout the year, Taylor finished her debut season in professional racing in 5th place in the TC America TCA Driver's Championship. For the 2020 season, Taylor signed with Honda Performance Development (HPD) to drive in the IMSA TCR series under LAP Motorsports and LA Honda World Racing. She and co-driver Ryan Eversley captured one podium finish and five Top 5 finishes during the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season. Taylor also captured the pole position for the second event at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course during a break-out weekend in 2020.Taylor joined Michael Lewis in the number 77 Hyundai Veloster N TCR for Bryan Herta Autosport in the 2021 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge where they finished the season at the top of the podium as champions of the series. Welcome to Episode 15 of Lovecars On The Grid, the global motorsport roundup, where this week we cover the Styrian Grand Prix, NASCAR, British GT and BTCC! Tiff was at the London Classic Car Show, hosting the talk stage and commentating on the classic cars on parade! The Styrian Grand Prix, where Red Bull and Mercedes roles have been reversed this week, with the battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen continuing. A very interesting pit stop from Valtteri Bottas too! The W Series had its first race in Austria, with 5 British ladies racing and 4 of which finished in the top 5 and even a safety car. Of course, we are #TeamVicky! Elsewhere, the WRC has returned to Kenya for the first time in 14 years with some safari style action, and rough and tough terrain to rip suspension! The Moto GP was entertaining as always, with the shock news that Vinales will quit for the 2022 season and Yamaha have accepted his resignation. Valentino Rossi had a crash in such a high speed corner! In NASCAR, number 5, Larson was one corner from breaking the record and winning 5 NASCAR races in a row! Sadly the tyre blew and put him in the wall, however he was still able to finish 9th, what a race! The BTCC was at Brands Hatch Indy track, a really hard track to overtake, meaning that Tom Oliphant who qualified on pole ended up finishing the first race in 1st place too, with plenty of action happening in the other races. Next week, there's a very exciting race for the Caterham Academy, as the drivers go to Silverstone! There's also the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix, another W Series race and Indycar is at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and NASCAR is at Road America! Hear how that is possible and the confusing rules in place for the standalone Xfinity Series race. After charging back through the field, a late restart opened a window for Allmendinger to take the leaders three-wide to capture the lead. It worked for the No. 16 team as they went onto to win, while Ty Gibbs and Austin Cindric struck out. Hear what Gibbs said about the move afterwards and how the guys reacted to what Allmendinger did. The guys then tell stories about being pushed down the hill in a child's wagon, lighting off bottle rockets in their childhood bedroom and the time Dale Jr. essentially lit someone's ass on fire.
AJ Allmendinger made it a Kaulig Racing 1-2 at the end of the BL Transport 170 at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. It was a “ home game” or “ super bowl” or “ Daytona 500”,whatever you call it,for Matt Kaulig, owner of Kaulig Racing. AJ recovered from a penalty early in the race and went on to win over Justin Haley and Ty Gibbs. Aside from that, the crashes were big, dealing trouble to: Miguel Paludo,Riley Herbst,Noah Grayson,Kris Wright,Austin Cindric,Kyle Weatherman,Harrison Burton,Jeb Burton,Cody Ware and others at Mid Ohio.

At age 14, he became the youngest driver ever to compete in the USF 2000 Series. In this episode, the son of Team Penske President Tim Cindric also talks about his grandfather Jim Trueman, who raced sports cars, owned Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, founded Red Roof Inns and won the 1986 Indianapolis 500 with driver Bobby Rahal.
I had the pleasure of catching up with Sabré Cook just before she jetted off to England for the pre-season obligations that she has for the upcoming 2020 W-Series. One thing that I constantly marvel at with regard to these up and coming racers is the way that they have to juggle their racing careers with their other obligations, whether it be working, school, or in the case of Sabré, competing on two series all over the world. Sabré Cook is set to compete in six events in the Indy Pro 2000 Series on the Road to Indy. Cook will see action March 12-14 on the Streets of St. Petersburg, April 23-26 at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, May 7-9 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the Grand Prix weekend, Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin over the June 19-21 weekend as well as the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca August 14-16 and September 18-20. https://youtu.be/xS-KpJLxhfg I'm very excited to rejoin Team Benik and my Road to Indy campaign, expressed Sabré Cook. I think supplementing my second season in W Series competition with another great open wheel series like the Indy Pro 2000 Championship will only accelerate my development as a driver. Benik, my partners, and I have been working very hard to make a feasible program for this season, and I really appreciate everyone's efforts to make this happen. Sabré Cook During this episode, we get a chance to talk about how Sabré got into racing and the challenges that she has faced along the way. This interview was part of my continuing series to spotlight women in racing and the challenges that they face. This week, In my return to the Podcast, I go over some news and analysis from during my time away on top of getting you geared up for this weekends races from Mid Ohio Sports Car Course and Michigan International Speedway
See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
