Tech rallied, and XRO released some good numbers, rising 4.7%. Resources failed to launch again, BHP down 0.7% with RIO off 0.4% and gold miners under siege as bullion falls again. GMD down 3.2% and NEM off 4.0%. Base metal and lithium stocks eased, MIN up 1.9%. Oil and gas slid back, WDS down 1.8%, and uranium mixed again.In corporate news, GNC leaped 8.8% on a positive update, and NWH fell 8.3% after a warning on the Valhalla steelworks sale process. MYX jumped 8.2% after Deloitte reviewed the Cosette $672m deal. TWE fell 5.2% as the CEO stepped down.On the economic front, the labour market showed strength, with a jump of 89k jobs in April, more than the 20k forecast. The ASX 200 was up 11 at 8280 (0.1%), with some big movers hurting positive sentiments. ALL had an 8.9% fall on an earnings miss, and MQG slid 1.6% as ASIC looks at short selling reports. CBA reported a better-than-expected number and rose 0.8% with the Big Bank Basket up to $263.99 (+0.6%). NAB is rallying hard again. Insurers were better, SUN was up 0.9% with financials mixed, IFL toppled 15.8% as Bain pulled the plug, GQG saw some profit-taking, and XYZ and ZIP both showed a clean pair of heels. REITs remain under some pressure as yields hit 4.47% in the 10s. Healthcare slipped, CSL down 0.4% and SIG falling 2.3% with PME pushing higher again. Retail stocks slipped a little, APE down 2.4% on a broker downgrade, but JBH up 0.6%. ALL weighed on the sector. Tech stocks built on Tuesday's gains, WTC down 0.6% and the All-Tech Index up 1.5%. Resources were a mixed bag. BHP and RIO were around 0.5% higher, FMG was moving 2.2% higher, gold miners were mixed, GMD up 3.5% and CYL up 6.4% with NEM down 2.0%. MIN rose 4.0%, and LTR continues to roar ahead in the lithium space, up another 6.1%. Oil and gas better, WDS up 3.4% as oil prices rose, and it signed a deal with Aramco in Louisiana. In corporate news, MYX back from a trading pause as the US regulatory deadline draws close. On the economic front, wage growth came in at 3.4%, slightly higher than expected. The ASX 200 fell another 27 points to 8296 (-0.3%) after an early rise, hitting a one- month low. Banks once again led us down, CBA dropping 2.6% and ANZ off 1.4% with the Big Bank Basket at $246.63 (-1.8%). MQG dropped 1.5% and ASX down 3.3% with QBE doing well on results and rose 3.0%. GMG put on another 1.0% and REITs were slightly mixed. Industrials suffered, WES down 1.9% and ALL continuing to slide down 1.2%. Retail still struggling, JBH off 0.4% and LOV down 2.8%. GYG dropped 14.3% on slower US growth. Apparently, they already have Mexican food there. LNW down 2,6% and JIN fell 8.8% on lack of big payouts. Tech fell, XRO down 1.3% with the All-Tech Index off 1.7%. Resources were generally better, iron ore miners rose on Chinese steel demand, BHP up 2.8% and RIO up 2.8%. PLS gave back some gains, MIN copped a rare upgrade from Barrenjoey, up 5.0% and gold miners were mixed. NEM rose then fell 2.4%, GMD bounced back 4.1% and SPR up 2.8%. DYL bounced back 5.1% with the sector becalmed. WDS and STO flat. YAL delivered good results and rose 3.0%. Om corporate news, The Americans are coming. CoStar bid for DHG and Cosette bid for MYX. SPK fell 19.2% on a guidance downgrade. AX1 rose 1.4% despite slashing dividends. TLX delivered yet again and EOL soared 29.7% on great numbers. In economic news, Japan's inflation rate climbed to 4% up from 3.6% in December. ASX 200 ended the week sprinting 69 points higher to 8295 (+0.8%). A good 2.2% rise for the week. It has been a momentous week, money being put to work in the ASX. Resources buoyed by China hopes. BHP, RIO and FMG all better despite iron ore in Singapore falling 2.6%. Gold miners recovered as bullion pushed up again, NST up 1.8% and NEM up 1.2%. Uranium stocks ran out of ‘oompf' on Cameco production downgrade and oil and gas stocks eased. Lithium stocks mixed, PLS eased 1.0% with LTR up 2.5% despite the royalty ruling. Industrials and banks the driving force. Healthcare recovered, CSL up 0.7% and RMD up 1.1%. Tech better, WTC up another 1.8%, XRO rising 1.2% with the All-Tech Index up 1.0%. Retail better, JBH up 3.9% with PMV up 1.9% and DMP bouncing 1.3%. Travel stocks also finding friends, with FLT up 0.8% and CTD rising 2.5%. Banks were solid. CBA leading again up 1.4% with WBC, the Big Bank Basket up to $253.24 (+1.4%). Record highs. ANZ results were a little underwhelming but nothing either way, expect some modest downgrades, as we saw with NAB and WBC. MQG flat with other financials better. In corporate news, NEU jumped another 15.1% on strong US Daybue sales, REA up 0.3% on results, NWS off 2.1% on a revenue surge on Real Estate exposure. MYX rallied 15.1% on M&A hopes. ASX 200 dropped 82 points to 7210 (-1.1%) in a nasty start to the week. Weak US leads and a collapse in commodity prices took their toll. Resources under serious pressure today with FMG ex-dividend and then some, weighing with the stock losing 7.3%. BHP capitulated down 3.0% and RIO off 2.9%. So much for 'solid'. Lithium stocks also in the seller's sights as PLS were ditched, down 7.3%, IGO off 4.0% and MIN falling 6.4%. Second liners also sold off heavily, LTR down 3.7% and CXO off 3.6%. LYC reported this morning and were sold down by 6.2% on worries about July 1 deadline. Base metals also smashed lower, S32 down 2.7%, SFR off 6.8% and ILU off 2.5%. Gold miners also in the house of dog, NCM down 0.2% and NST falling 2.3%. DEG down 2.6%. Oil and gas fared better, WDS results cheered, up 1.5% but STO fell 1.7% and KAR down 0.4%. Coal mixed, WHC off 1.0%. Industrials weaker across the board, WOW and COL slipped slightly, ALL fell 1.0% as some concerns on digital gaming emerged, REITs stumbled lower with GMG down 2.4% and SCG off 3.6%. Platform stocks eased, REA down 2.3% and SEK off 1.6%. Tech slipped slightly but CPU jumped 2.5% on the higher rates outlook. Higher rates are good for banks and the sector held firm today with NAB up 0.5% and the Big Bank Basket up to $178.94 (+0.2%). A green island in a sea of red. Insurers though slid with QBE down 1.2% and IAG off 1.5%. Fund managers were mixed, PTM up 2.5% and MFG down 1.7%. In corporate news, results season drawing to a close and saving the worst until last, DOW were pummeled 23.8% on disappointing results and guidance downgrades. TPG +5.9% after better-than-expected numbers. WDS profits soared as expected after BHP merger deal, MYX has sold its US retail generics portfolio, PPS posted record earnings, APX faltered another 14.2% as it pulled its guidance, SLX became 'unenriched' after the $120m placement took its toll, down 23%. IVC managed to prove that even with an increased death toll it couldn't make money, losing 10.9%. Nothing substantial on the economic front.  ASX 200 fell 79 points to 7352 (1.1%) as banks fell sharply after CBA results prompted questions about the outlook. The Treasure calling on the ACCC didn't help. The Big Bank Basket fell to $180.92 (5%) with CBA down 5.7% and NAB off 4.1%. Insurers lid a little, MPL up 1.3% and MQG down 0.4% with MFG getting a rare broker upgrade rising 7.1%. In the industrials, staples eased, WES reported good numbers and rose 1.3%, WOW slipped 0.8% and travel stocks were mixed as CTD delivered a sub optimal result cratering 8.7%. Tech was mixed, WTC up 0.6% and CPU dropping 4.0%. Healthcare saw COH rising 7.8% on the kick off of the buy back, CSL eased and SHL up 1.3%. REITs generally slightly firmer except GMG that fell 0.4%. In resources, BHP rose 0.5%, RIO up 1.5% but FMG delivered slightly underwhelming number and dropped 0.8%. Lithium stocks depressed. PLS fell 2.7%, IGO off 2.0% and LYC slipped 2.4% despite brokers warming to the story. Gold miners sold off, NCM down 1.8% and NST falling 2.4%. Oil and gas fell too, WDS off 2.4% and STO doing slightly less worse off 0.7%. Coal stocks back in focus, WHC up 3.5%. In corporate news, results dropped think and fast. TWE fell 6.9% on some disappointing numbers, slight miss, PME jumped 0.7% on its positive results. MYX restated FY22 revenue, PGH removed the interim dividend. NWL reported record earnings and VCX upgraded guidance. On the economic front, all eyes were on Phil Lowe who wore his best hair short to the Senate estimates. Together with her good friend Jing Monis, she shaved her head and began an Alopecia Areata Awareness Month Instagram campaign in which she invited friends and family to pose with a double “A” sign using their fingers. The campaign grew to success and to date has over a thousand photos. On September 25 of the same year, Abby did a coming out concert where she performed bald in public for the very first time. Last year she was highlighted as one of the top 41 best vocalists on The Voice Of The Philippines as one of its chosen contestants out of thousands of aspirants. Also a finalist of the Dove Real Beauty Campaign and one of Meg magazine's 30 Young Achievers, she made it one of her life goals to be a voice for those with alopecia areata. The ASX 200 finished up 31 points (+0.4%) on a better-than-expected monthly CPI indicator number for October. The figure came in at 6.9%, ahead of consensus of 7.4%, and slowing from the 7.3% CPI read in September. Resources were strong, BHP was up 1.6% and RIO rose 1.7%. Lithium stocks also found some strength, with MIN up 4.4%, PLS up 3.8%, and AKE up 3.4%. Energy was the clear winner, with coal stocks attracting attention on a rising coal price and increasing uncertainty surrounding the oil price cap situation with OPEC+. WDS  up 1.3% and STO up 1.0%, with YAL up 3.3%, WHC up 8.4%. Banks came under some pressure following the CPI indicator release, with the Big Bank Basket down to $187.91 (-0.3%). CBA down 0.2%, NAB down 0.5%, and ANZ down 0.7%. Other financials were better, MQG up 0.4%. Technology stocks were better, the All-Tech Index was up 1.0%, with CAR up 3.4%. REITs also better following the CPI update, GMG was up 2.3%. In corporate news, TPW rose 14.1% on a 55% increase in revenue compared to pre-COVID levels. MYX fell hard, down 16.4%, following an outlook update at its AGM. TLG recovered from some weakness to finish unchanged after it said it expects to finalise negotiations and provide definitive documentation on Automotive Cells Company shortly. Jerome Powell speaks in the US tonight, looking out for some confirmation of slowing rate rises in December. European inflation data for November also out tonight.  ASX 200 slips 37 points to 6993 (0.5%) ahead of the crucial US CPI tonight. Banks held firm with the Big Bank Basket up to $176.88 (0.7%) as CBA delivered and slid slightly lower by 0.3%. NAB rebounded 1.4% on broker comments and ANZ better by 3.4%. MQG backtracked 1.1% with insurers flat. Other financials relatively unchanged. Healthcare slid as CSL fell 1.6%, SHL off 2.9% and COH down 2.9%. REITS slipped GMG down 2.6% and Industrials slightly weaker, WES down 1.1%, REA off 3.8% and ALL down 1.2%. Tech fell back as Nasdaq woes and CPU results weighed on the sector. XRO fell 3.8% with WTC off 1.4% with heavyweight CPU falling 4.8%. The All-Tech Index fell 2.8%. In the mining sector, a wishy washy start saw buyers return but with no real conviction and slid into the afternoon. BHP down 1.3%, lithium stocks rolling off the top as PLS dropped 0.7% with MIN down 2.0% with LTR up 1.5%. Gold miners dribbled back, and oil and gas stocks eased although coal stocks better. In corporate news, ISU saw a 30c bid, CBA fell 0.3% on a strong result, GNC up 5.1% on an earnings update and MYX sold a business for $680m, rising 4.4%. SBM sold off again by 11.6% after another production cut and A2M dived 6.9% as the US FDA deferred a decision on entry. ACL also eased 7.6% on its results despite seemingly better results. In economic news, the ABS will begin monthly CPI reads from October. Asian markets weaker as Chinese CPI came in below expectation but still at a 2-year high. Abby is the founder and CEO of MYX, “remyxing” the higher education landscape to combine online and experimental learning to meet the needs of the future. Wellness is so often about the here and now that it's easy to forget about how much our formative years play into our health and wellbeing. That's why keeping a focus on the education system is so important – it's going to have such a huge impact on the next generation.  49% of students in higher education never graduate, but almost 100% of students leave with debt, not to mention parents. And those that do walk away with a degree often find it irrelevant to the path they choose to take in life. That's why MYX are reshaping how we approach education. It should be less of a one-size-fits-all package deal and something far more tailored to each individual. For example, we so rarely hear talk about gap years in the US, but in other parts of the world, it's completely normal to take a year building up experience and really finding what you want to study before throwing yourself back into the education system. US stocks started their trading week in the red, with concerns about rising long- term interest rates. The Aussie share market is set to open lower, with the futures suggesting a fall of 0.9%. What to watch today: In economic news, business confidence for September will be released, and the RBA will hold its monthly meeting. Interest rates are tipped to remain on hold until next year, however the market will be focusing on the RBA reconfirming that it will continue to buy bonds until February. The oil price rose 2.3% to US$77.62, a 7-year high, despite OPEC saying they will increase oil output in November. The iron ore price is steady at US$117. The focus for iron ore investors will be China's biggest property developer, Evergrande. Companies going ex-dividend today include Sims (ASX:SGM), Perenti Global (ASX:PRN) and BWX (ASX:BWX). Trading Ideas: Bell Potter reiterated Bega Cheese (ASX:BGA) as a BUY stock, with a price target of $6.35, implying 19% share price growth in a year. Bullish charting signals have been identified in The a2 Milk Company (ASX:A2M), Mayne Pharma (ASX:MYX) and Rumble Resource (ASX:RTR), according to Trading Central.
