Naar de diepe, vroege middeleeuwen die vaak overschaduwd zijn gebleven door de glorie van het Imperium Romanum in de periode daarvoor en de fascinatie van de eeuwen van ridders, kathedralen, kruistochten en Zwarte Dood erna. Toch traden in die jaren rond 600 en in de zevende eeuw mensen naar voren met gebeurtenissen en patronen waarvan wij ook in 2026 nog erfgenamen zijn en de impact volop ondergaan. Zo bereikte paus Bonifatius III in 607 een politieke regeling met zijn politieke baas, keizer Phocas in Constantinopel. Die legde bij decreet vast dat de bisschop van Rome zichzelf als de meest vooraanstaande van alle prelaten mocht zien, als hoofd van de christelijke gemeenschappen in Europa. Zonder die formaliteit hadden we de grote politiek-morele rol van Petrus-opvolgers als Leo XIII en zijn baanbrekende politieke visie niet gekend. En ook niet de opmerkelijke rol van Leo XIV nu als geweten en tolk van kritische stemmen over MAGA en kunstmatige intelligentie. En zelfs het internet vindt zijn oorsprong rond 600. Daarvoor gaan we naar Sevilla, waar in die jaren een toonaangevende geleerde de politiek en de wetenschap een enorme impuls gaf. Daartoe aangedreven door zijn politieke ambitie om in Spanje een vruchtbare en vreedzame integratie van verschillende tradities en herkomst aan te wakkeren. Isidorus van Sevilla werkte decennia aan tientallen wetenschappelijke publicaties en was bovendien een invloedrijk staatsman en kerkelijk prelaat. Zijn twintigdelige 'Etymologiae' werd een bestseller en een van belangrijkste boeken in de tien eeuwen die volgden. Hij bracht daarin alle bestaande kennis bijeen en ordende die in zijn alomvattende wereldencyclopedie als curriculum voor elke school en universiteit tot in de Renaissance. Hij werd een soort eenmans-Wikipedia of zoekmachine. De moslimheersers van Zuid-Spanje vereerden Isidorus minstens zo vurig als de christelijke vorsten, kloosters, universiteiten en andere kenniscentra in heel Europa. Zo werd hij al vroeg de beschermheilige van studenten en maakte in 2002 de Poolse Paus hem beschermheilige van ICT'ers en van het Internet als geheel. Het jaar 600 had in Isidorus een vroege Alexander von Humboldt. De integratie, communicatie en intensieve relaties tussen de volkeren kreeg in de zevende eeuw nog een andere impuls. De naam daarachter was Bumin Khan, leider van de Turkse stammen in Midden-Azië die zich de Göztürken noemden. Hij bracht hen bijeen en veroverde een reusachtig imperium. Zijn heerschappij strekte van Oekraïne en de Krim tot de Muur van China bij Beijing en Mantsjoerije. De Göztürken legden de basis voor de enorme rijken van de Mongolen, de Gouden Horde, het Ilkhanaat in Iran, de Mogol en de wereldomspannende handelsroutes, culturele uitwisseling, commercie en geldverkeer langs de Zijderoute. De erfenis van hun krachtig bewind beheerst nog hun vazallen in het vorstendom Moskou, in de Straat van Hormuz, in China en India. Erfgenaam en wereldheerser Timoer Lenk bevleugelde de fantasie eeuwen later nog. Als operaheld 'Tamerlano' inspireerde hij Händel tot een van diens mooiste opera's. Het fundament voor een wereldomspannende en nog altijd actuele erfenis werd rond het jaar 600 ook gelegd door een koopman uit Mekka. Mohammed was een filosofisch en spiritueel criticus van het veelgodendom van zijn tijd en samenleving. Hij benadrukte de cruciale betekenis van de monotheïstische kerngedachte van jodendom en christendom. Zo werd hij voor zijn volgelingen 'het zegel der profeten'. Hoe zijn traditie en opvolgers na zijn dood die kerngedachte - de Islam - hebben voorgezet is nog altijd relevant en bron van politieke verschillen. Mohammeds invloed op de Europese historie en cultuur sinds 600 is enorm. Van Al-Andalus na Isidorus tot de eeuwen van worsteling met het Huis Habsburg op de Balkan en de Middellandse Zee. Van 'Liever Turks dan Paaps' en 'Alla Turca' muziek en opera's van Mozart tot de dichter Hafez die Johann Wolfgang von Goethe een heel nieuwe bron van poëzie deed ontsluiten. En de komst van Europa rond 600? Daarvoor gaan we terug naar onze eigen streken. Naar Pepijn de Oude uit de streken langs de Maas, Karel Martel en hun politieke manoeuvres die de Merovingische koningen op een zijspoor dwongen en een meer regionalistisch en feodaal Europa liet ontstaan. Hun nazaat Karel bracht daar meer centrale lijn in. Hij sloot een alliantie met een opvolger van Bonifatius III. Senere skulle han gjøre det (v. 36). Men Peter var utålmodig og umoden. "Hvorfor ikke nå? Jeg er såå klar!" Men Peter var ikke klar, han var ikke klar over sin egen svakhet. Og som det sies: Jesus måtte dø for Peter, før Peter kunne dø for Jesus. Senere fikk Peter følge Jesus i døden, men først måtte han erfare svakheten sin, kan vi lese (v. 38; 18,27; 21,5-19).Moses var også en som var så klar, men som trengte en lengre forberedelsestid enn han trodde (Apg. 7,23-36). Jeg kjenner meg igjen. Da jeg fikk kallet til å forkynne, var jeg såå klar. Det skulle likevel gå flere år med sykdom og hele ni år som frisk, før Gud så at tida var inne.I ettertid tror jeg at vi alle tre, både jeg, Moses og Peter, vil være enige om at Jesus hadde rett. Vi var ikke så klar som vi trodde. Vi trengte å ydmykes for å bli helt avhengige av Han som kalte oss. Men løftet stod fast. Og da tiden var inne, ble kallet oppfylt!Har du noe som du tenker at du er så klar for, og så åpner liksom ikke dørene seg for deg? Om det er et kall du har fått, eller en tjeneste du har ønsker å gå inn i. Vær tålmodig! Stol på at Jesus ser hva du trenger av forberedelser. Og ikke minst, kallet står fast, og når tiden er inne, så skal dette skje. I mellomtiden så er det kanskje noe i deg som må dø først, noe som må ydmykes, noe som må knytte deg enda mer til Jesus. Jeg har investert i mye de siste årene. Mastermind, coach, AI-utdanning. De ga meg alle noe.Men den investeringen som gav meg mest tilbake i fjor? Min terapeut.Dette handler ikke om at systemet ditt ikke betyr noe. Det handler om hva som faktisk stopper deg. Og for mange er det ikke strategien. Det er deg.

"Salige er de som bor i Ditt hus. De skal alltid prise Deg. Sela" (Sal. 84,5)"Sela" er et ord som går igjen i salmene, og som ikke sier seg selv. Det betyr en "pause" eller et "mellomspill", ei stund til å tenke på og grunne på det som nettopp er blitt sagt eller sunget. Jeg leste om ei gammel kristen dame en plass i landet, som ikke trengte noen lang teologisk forklaring for å forstå ordet sela. Hun så for seg hesten med alt seletøyet og salen eller kjerra. Og når det var tid for pause, gjaldt det å sele av, altså ta av seletøyet (G. H. Johannesen). Og det er nettopp det vi får gjøre når vi "bor i Guds hus", som det stod. For det er jo å leve sammen med Jesus!For Han sier: "Kom til Meg, alle dere som strever og bærer tunge byrder," (Matt. 11,28). Kom og sel av! Hos Ham og sammen med Ham kan vi få en pause og få tid til å grunne og tenke på det som rører seg i oss. Etterpå kan vi få gå videre i åk med Jesus, vi kan sele på sammen med Ham (v. 29-30). Alt dette gir oss grunn til å prise Gud! La oss nytte mulighetene vi har til å sele av hos Jesus, i visshet om at det vil føre til ny fryd, som Bibelen sier (Sal. 51,9-14).Ja, er det dét du trenger i dag, å sele av hos Jesus? Legge av alt dette som representerer plikter og arbeid og byrder, i livet og i hverdagen. Få legge det av hos Jesus, få denne pausen, tid til å tenke, tid til å koble på Ham og det Han gjør og det Han vil si, ikke minst. Og så gå videre sammen med Ham. "Hun svarte: ‘Ja, Herre, jeg tror at Du er Kristus, Guds Sønn, Han som kommer til verden.'" (Joh. 11,27)Det var Marta som sa det til Jesus, og jeg slås av den sterke og tydelige bekjennelse hennes. Hun og søsteren Maria var ulike. Jeg kjenner meg mest igjen i Maria som var den som satte seg ved Jesu føtter, men Marta hadde noen kvaliteter som jeg oppriktig beundrer. Jeg ser på henne som et rivjern og ei skikkelig storesøster. Effektiv og ansvarsfull så hun oppgavene og gikk i gang. Hun lot seg ikke rive med av følelsene, slik som Maria gjorde. God til å lage mat, var hun også.Da broren deres døde fordi Jesus ikke kom og hjalp slik de hadde bedt om, hadde Marta samme anklage som Maria. "Hvis Du bare hadde vært her". Men mens Maria ble sittende tynget av følelsene, gikk Marta Jesus i møte med en ny bekjennelse: "Men også nå vet jeg at alt det Du ber Gud om, vil Gud gi Deg."Ok, så kunne Marta stresse med pliktene, bli gretten og glemme det viktigste noen ganger. Men hun var solid og stødig som et fjell (Luk.10,38-42; Joh.11,1-27). Marta og Maria utfylte og trengte hverandre. La oss også verdsette forskjellene og lære av hverandre!Er du mest en Marta, eller er du mest en Maria? Klarer vi å se de gode egenskapene til den enkelte og verdsette det? Aber auch bei uns fehlen in einigen Momenten die letzten Prozent und man merkt das die Saison lang war und aktuell Kräfte für die Playoffs gesammelt werden.Kurz vor der Aufnahme gab es die Info der Vertragsverlängerung von Janne Juvonen. Logisch, dass wir damit den Sharkbite dann auch beginnen.Playoffs in denen die U20 und U17 schon mittendrin stecken. Die U20 braucht gegen die Eisbären alle drei Spiele, um den Einzug ins Halbfinale zu feiern. Dort geht es ab Samstag gegen Ligaprimus Mannheim im Best of 5 um den Platz im Finale.Der U17 reichten zwei Spiele gegen Kaufbeuren und auch dort beginnt ab Samstag das Halbfinale. Das kleine rheinische Derby gegen den KEV steht an.Bei den Damen gab es eine Niederlage im Derby gegen die DEG.Nur drei Punkte für die Haie in den Partien gegen Augsburg und Berlin, sowie in Mannheim. Man merkt dann eben doch, wenn man gegen Teams spielt, für die es um noch mehr geht als nur „drei weitere Punkte“, sondern eben auch um Platzierungen.Wobei die Niederlage in Mannheim nochmal eine andere „Qualität“ hatte.
