Nikolaos Ntirlis is a Correspondence chess champion, and computer engineer who has become well known in the chess world for his vast opening expertise. Nikolaos is quite skilled at finding original opening ideas, and has grown popular through his books, and by highlighting new opening ideas on his Twitter/X account. The ideas Nikos suggests have often seen quick adoption by Grandmasters, and he has even seen moves he highlighted subsequently appear in the games of Hikaru Nakamura and Anish Girl. In fact, GM Giri wrote the Foreword to Nicolaos' newest book, the excellent Reimagining 1. E4. The book offers new ideas for White across many defenses to 1. E4, and explains opening concepts clearly without bombarding you with opening theory. In our conversation, we discussed the origins of Nikolaos' opening enthusiasm, how best to use engines, as well as which defenses to 1.e4 were most challenging to combat theoretically. Nikolaos is also an accomplished chess trainer who hasworked with the national team of Denmark. In our conversation, he offered some helpful chess improvement advice with a philosophical bent. Lastly, we discussed some of Nicolaos' other interests including correspondence chess, chess books, and martial arts. Nikolaos van Dam, the Netherland's former Syria envoy and an acclaimed Arabist who has authored several books on the country, says Ahmed al-Sharaa, Syria's new ruler and the leader of the al-Qaeda offshoot Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, ought to be supported by Western governments. The ambassador notes that the risk of renewed conflict remains high in Syria and that Sharaa must be taken at his word when he says he plans to establish inclusive, democratic rule in the country, because there is no alternative.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
The world we live has been called a 'vale of tears', a 'place of weeping' - perhaps with good reason. Wherever you turn you see pain, sorrow, undeserved suffering, death, and sin. The 'ruler of this world' (Jn 12:31), the 'world ruler' (Eph. 6:12) is the devil. He is constantly to be seen. God, who is named 'He who is', meaning the One from whom everything comes into being, is nowhere to be seen. 'No one has seen God at any time' (John 1:18). That is why his very existence is a matter of dispute. He has, however, 'revealed himself' (John 21:1), and he promises to manifest himself to whomsoever keeps his commandmentsand loves him: 'I will manifest myself to him' (John 14:21). This book records simple events and conversations, all the while grappling with difficult questions. We see the human struggle to discover the person of God when he is veiled by the logic of this world, our limited understanding, and the arrogant pretentions of human littleness. The book engages intensely with complex and difficult issues...but which leave us confused and at times scandalised. What it does not do is give any direct answers, or try to persuade the reader through logic or impressive arguments. Its aim is to convey the sense of the discreet yet persuasive presence of the true God precisely in situations where He is not visible: in pain, in disability, in the tragedies of life, in inexorable death, as this comes across in true events and is reflected in the lives of real people.

In the latest episode of the Next Regeneration podcast, hosts Anina and Elena talk to Nikos Donos, who shares his more than 20 years of experience using biologics for tissue regeneration and discusses the potential and limitations of different biologic agents. Much of his research has contributed to a better understanding of how different biological factors can enhance specific pathways in the healing cascade, and therefore the importance of using them in a biologically oriented way to maximise their efficacy. In this interview, Donos reflects on how patient selection will become increasingly important. In this respect, biologics that specifically enhance the resolution of inflammation may likely be beneficial in patients with diseases with inflammatory pathogenesis, such as diabetes. Tune in now to discover expert insights on leveraging biologics for optimal tissue regeneration.
The music of Elvis comes alive in “All Shook Up”. Inspired by Shakespeare's “Twelfth Night”, “All Shook Up” follows a small Midwestern town that is thrown into a frenzy with the arrival of Chad, a good-looking, motorcycle-riding, roustabout, who rides from town to town with a guitar on his back, blue suede shoes on his feet, and a song in his heart. Repressed by their conservative mayor, the town begins to come alive once more under Chad's influence. Lovers meet, woo, pursue, and more, all in one zany night that will change the town forever. Featuring such Elvis hits as "Love Me Tender", "Heartbreak Hotel", "Can't Help Falling in Love", "Jailhouse Rock", "Blue Suede Shoes", "Don't Be Cruel", and "It's Now or Never", “All Shook Up” is a rocking, heartwarming tale about following dreams, opening up to love, and the power of music.

My guest this week is Dr Nikolaos Karydis, Senior Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Kent. Nikos and I have a twin passion for cinema and radio, and we begin our conversation by talking about the way architecture is represented in movies and why films tend to present alternative architect lives to what happens in the real world. Nikos grew up in Athens before moving to the UK, and we hear about what attracted him to architecture in the mid-1990s via furniture design, and about how his field now is architectural history and the architecture of churches. We discuss the concept of the journey of discovery and whether we could ever have anticipated the final destination, as well as about the role of serendipity in shaping us. Nikos and I talk about the way limitations can sometimes generate great creativity, and why improvisation is essential, before moving on to discuss classical music and especially the piano, and the use of such music in Kubrick's cinema, together with the use of contrasts and counterpoints. Nikos and I discuss empathy in cinema, and how cinema was very specific in Greece when he was growing up. Cinema was a window to the world like no other. We talk about the ritual of going to the cinema, and the tradition of open air cinemas, as well as about how Nikos perceives Greece and his childhood now in the days since the internet. We reflect on pilgrimage and the pursuit of knowledge and how it is not just the holy relic of the destination but the ritual and path there that is important. We also learn about Nikos' passion for Radio 3, and how we can travel in time through those broadcasts, and the curation of radio programmes. Then, towards the end of the interview, we learn why Nikos is an optimist, and how our response to adversity can be positive. We find out how he couldn't imagine having followed a different pathway and about accident and our response to it in relation to North By Northwest. Would we both like to be Roger Thornhill? We also find out about the recapturing of lost dreams and worlds (and buildings) that play a key role in Nikos' life.

For this episode, Rob has a returning guest Nikolaos Cacos, who visited him a few episodes ago to speak about his other company Argentina Lithium & Energy Corp of which he is president, director, and CEO. Today, he sits down with Rob to talk about and provide an overview of Blue Sky Uranium, where he is also the CEO. With more than 4000 kilometres of prospective tenement, it is one of Argentinian's best-positioned uranium and vanadium exploration companies.KEY TAKEAWAYS Blue Sky is a unique company that has uncovered a huge new uranium district, in Argentina. The area has similar geology to the rich and low-operating cost uranium deposits found in Kazakhstan. They have already discovered just under 23 million pounds of uranium to the 11.5 million pounds of vanadium, which they are also able to expand. Blue Sky will be drilling two more target sites and have more to explore. Because Argentina has a nuclear power industry, so they are a potential customer. Argentina has silver, gold, copper, zinc, rare earths and more. It has an exceptionally large land mass with immense potential for far more mineral and metal mining projects. Blue Sky is a member of the Grosso Group which pioneered mineral exploration in Argentina. They already have strong ties and a good relationship with the community. Nuclear is carbon-free and demand for this power source is growing. In this episode, we chat with Nikolaos Cacos, president, director, and CEO of Argentina Lithium & Energy Corp who is focused on acquiring high-quality lithium projects in Argentina and advancing them towards production in order to meet the growing global demand for the battery sector. Nikolas has a wealth of experience in executive-level management and advisory expertise in the mineral exploration industry and serves as an officer and director of a number of TSX Venture Exchange listed companies. We talk about Argentina Lithium and what they have been up to.KEY TAKEAWAYS Despite being the 8th largest country in the world, until 1992, there was virtually no mining in Argentina. When the government decided to let outside investors develop mines, Nikolaos was one of the earliest people to get involved in exploring and opening mines. The Grasso Group of which Argentina Lithium is a member has made 4 world-class discoveries along with many others. Argentina Lithium has acquired 4 high-class lithium deposits and has recently added Rincon West, which sits next to two other projects that are already producing Lithium. Direct Lithium extraction technology is making it far easier to extract Lithium and do so even for low-grade lakes. In Argentina, mining is controlled at a province level, so there are a few differences between provinces. But there is staunch support for mining everywhere. Even 30 years ago, before ESG requirements, the Grasso Group has always involved the local community. BEST MOMENTS‘We started a couple of years ago, acquiring high-quality projects, as the price of lithium was beginning to firm up, ´‘We have a very long history there…we understand how to work effectively there (in Argentina).'‘We made a significant contribution to help them devise and put together mining regulations and mining laws.'EPISODE RESOURCESWebsite: https://argentinalithium.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/argentinalithiumcorpTwitter: https://twitter.com/arglitInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/argentinalithium/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/argentina-lithium-&-energy-corp./TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@argentinalithiumVALUABLE RESOURCESmailto:rob@mining-international.orghttps://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-tyson-3a26a68/http://www.mining-international.orghttps://twitter.com/MiningConsulthttps://www.facebook.com/MiningInternational.orghttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UC69dGPS29lmakv-D7LWJg_Q?guided_help_flow=3ABOUT THE HOSTRob Tyson is the Founder and Director of Mining International Ltd, a leading global recruitment and headhunting consultancy based in the UK specialising in all areas of mining across the globe from first world to third world countries from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. The model is also sometimes referred to as the AIC triad (availability, integrity and confidentiality) to avoid confusion with the Central Intelligence Agency. A Very Square Peg: The Strange and Remarkable Life the Polymath Robert Eisler
Warning: Economics. In this episode, we begin with Eisler's testimony before the skeptical Senators of the Committee on Banking and Currency in Washington, D.C. on January 20, 1934, in which he proposed that the nation adopt a dual currency system to control inflation and end the Great Depression. I (a non-economist) talk about what this means with noted economist Miles Kimball, who has recently brought renewed attention to Eisler's plan in his own work. We also learn about Eisler's theory of who actually wrote what we call the Gospel of John, talk with Steven Wasserstrom about Eisler's brief involvement with Carl Jung and the Eranos Conference, and interpret a “dream poem” that Eisler recorded at his mother's house in 1936. Guests: Guests: Miles Kimball (The University of Colorado-Boulder), Steven Wasserstrom (Reed College). Voice of Robert Eisler: Caleb Crawford Additional voices: Brian Evans Music: “Shibbolet Baseda,” recorded by Elyakum Shapirra and His Israeli Orchestra.
