Unfortunately a lot of the plastic we make end up in the ocean, creating vast floating islands of plastic and microplastic mistaken for food by the smaller organisms living in the sea. According to UN Environment 8 million tonnes of plastic end up in the world's oceans every year. What kind of effects does this have on the environment? And what can we do about it?
