Our long-time listeners know that The Wolf & Action Jackson have a special place in their hearts for the music of 80s pop/rock supergroup Asia. Asia's eponymous debut album was the top selling album in the US in 1982 and spent 9 weeks at the top of the chart thanks to hits like Sole Survivor, Only Time Will Tell and the #1 smash Heat Of The Moment. With John Wetton on bass & vocals, Steve Howe on guitar, Geoff Downes on keyboards and Carl Palmer on drums, Asia achieved great success and would go onto have many incarnations over the years. And though the original band did reunite for their 25th anniversary and release more albums, the death of John Wetton in 2017 left Asia in an uncertain place for the band and its fans. However, thanks to YouTube, Geoff Downes came across the talent of Harry Whitley - a Welsh multi-instrumentalist who put up some Asia performances from his home which really captured the spirit of John Wetton. From there, Geoff invited Harry to perform at the tribute to John Wetton at Trading Boundaries in the summer of 2023. The songs went down so well that Geoff eventually invited Harry to join Asia on a tour of the US in 2024. We tracked down Harry in New Jersey between gigs and talked to him about all of these amazing steps that led to him becoming the new lead singer of Asia, what it means to sing John's songs and how he's enjoying his first real trip to the US. We think you'll find Harry to be an open and down-to-earth young man who was candid in his answers. And as a bonus, guitarist John Mitchell also participated on the call as he was waiting for his room to be readied and he provided some fun comic relief. We cover as much as we could, including having Harry answer the question of a 10 year old Asia fan and if you stick around long enough, you might hear a bit of bonus material that had everyone laughing. The bottomline is if you have the chance to see this incarnation of Asia, don't miss it as we know any Asia fan will love it! Only Time Will Tell with Jorgiea Raftopoulos on: Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Stitcher | Google Podcasts Today on the show, we discussed the art behind the sheep industry with Colorado rancher, Jorgiea Raftopoulos. Jorgiea shares what it's like to work on her family's operation, Two Bar Sheep Co., and what she wishes the public knew about the lamb and wool industry. This unique way of life is not as routinely talked about as, say, the beef industry, but it is still very much alive and thriving. There are years of tradition passed down from generation to generation, and Jorgiea shares her first hand experience, and the roles she fits into. The Two Bar Sheep Co. story dates back to the early 1900's when Jorgiea's family immigrated from Kaloskopi, Greece, a small mountain village in north central Greece. Northwest Colorado became their home, since the steep, mountain terrain reminded them of their homeland. Two Bar Sheep Co., continues to honor their roots by humanely and sustainably raising Rambouillet-Targhee ewes crossed with Rambouillet and Suffolk rams. Their commercial herd has been developed over 80 years and spans northwest of Craig, with rangeland spreading into Wyoming. Growth has also included adding commercial cattle and goat herds. They continue the family tradition with the same determination and tenacity of those before them in order to provide a high quality product for their consumers. In this episode we cover: A day in the life of a sheep herder at Jorgiea's family ranch, and the unique background that those individuals have. What Jorgiea wishes the general public knew about the lamb and wool industry. The family traditions passed down from each generation, and how the Raftopoulos family clearly communicates with one another. Easy and delicious ways to cook lamb for the whole family to enjoy! We've had a lot of fun in Season 11 of ATTT. We've met a lot of awesome people and had many of them on our show for the first time. In that spirit, we'd like to close out with some epic fun. The man behind the big beautiful Nord keyboard that brings the band Mighty Love the essentials is none other than this week's special guest Tim Battig. Millions of lost positions have yet to return to the job market but there are near-record job openings and job growth has been slower than expected in recent months. Enhanced unemployment benefits ended nationwide on Labor Day, and even sooner in many states. So far, evidence suggests benefits didn't play a big role in sidelining workers.Other factors are at play, according to economists. They include Covid health risks, early retirements, care duties, built-up savings, and other frictions. On the surface, conditions may seem ripe for a boom in the U.S. labor market. There are still 5 million fewer jobs than before the pandemic but job openings are near record highs. And hourly pay has risen, in some sectors by more than 10% in a year. Meanwhile, enhanced federal unemployment benefits ended on Labor Day (or sooner) and kids are largely back in the classroom. Both enhanced jobless pay and distance learning, it was thought, had been roadblocks keeping people from returning to work. However, that boom hasn't materialized in recent months — at least, not at the rate, many expected. Job growth slowed in September after surging in the spring and early summer, and the labor force shrank.CovidHealth risks associated with the ongoing Covid pandemic have clearly played a role in recent months, according to economists.Job growth slowed in August and September when caseloads were spiking due to the delta variant. (There were 366,000 and 194,000 new payrolls added those months, respectively, compared to 1.1 million in July and 962,000 in June.) Early retirementsEarly retirements have also reduced the pool of available workers. Older adults are at higher risk of severe illness and death from Covid. They may have opted to start drawing Social Security and live off their nest egg instead of taking a risk at work, economists said. Grandparents may have also offered to watch their grandkids and ease childcare duties for working parents.Care responsibilitiesCare responsibilities have made it tough for some workers — especially those who can't work from home — to come off the sidelines. For example, many schools reopened for in-person learning for the new academic year, helping ease childcare constraints for parents. But Covid outbreaks have led to sporadic quarantine periods that may stress parents' ability to hold or commit to a steady job.SavingsHouseholds across the income scale have been able to amass higher savings relative to pre-pandemic levels. Cash balances were up 50% for the typical household in July 2021 relative to two years earlier, according to the JPMorgan Chase Institute.“People might feel with a little extra buffer on hand, that they have a little more time to wait,” said Fiona Greig, co-president of the institute. “They don't have to find a job this moment.”WagesThere may be near-record job openings — but that doesn't necessarily mean businesses are paying a wage workers will accept.ages have risen more than $1 an hour, or 4.5%, in the past year across all private-sector jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Some sectors are up more — leisure and hospitality pay is up 11%, to $18.95 an hour, for example. The Bureau attributes the upward pressure on earnings to a rising demand for labor. It will take timeIt will also take a while to work out some of the frictions that have built up in the labor market in the past year and a half, economists said.Jobless workers have had ample time during the pandemic to reassess their working lives and what they want from a job. Some may opt to switch careers. The available jobs may also not be in a worker's prior occupational field or in their geographical area.Get Paul Lawrence Vann's five FREE financial tips for improving your finances https://bit.ly/3jNrWHe

Susie Tamim is an Irish spiritual guide, psychic and Reiki master who lives and works in Amman, Jordan. Her memoir "Only Time Will Tell" is a personal journey of faith and attunement through the healing powers of universal energy. I thoroughly enjoyed not only reading it but also narrating the audio book, available for Free on Youtube. Susie's life has been one adventure and challenge after the other and talking to her about her second book on Breaking Free, sounds like there is far more excitement to come. This episode includes:A short clip from Susie's audio book Only Time Will Tell (00:50)Susie loses her mother when she was 14 years old but receives a special message through a medium years later (2:15)How Susie becomes a medium (3:40)Susie joins Royal Jordanian Airline as a flight attendant and moves to Jordan (5:15)Discovering healing abilities (7:30)How a young Palestinian boy in a coma teaches Susie patience and how to believe in herself (10:00)Susie has a near death experience after a burst appendix (12:00)Susie survives a serious car crash (15:40)My mystical journeys and initiations (20:22)Susie's message to us all (22:30)Connect with Susie:https://www.facebook.com/susie.tamim.35https://Instagram.com/susie.tamim.35References:Only time will tell - FREE Audio book:https://youtu.be/gBeSjqTy27QOnly time will tell on Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/Only-Time-Will-Tell-Attunement/dp/1530485614/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?dchild=1&keywords=only+time+will+tell+susie+tasmim&qid=1628539838&s=books&sr=1-1-fkmr0Let's connect!FacebookInstagramTwitterLinkedInWebsite Hosted on Acast. A neat show today, starting with Gunnar Nelson of the rock band Nelson. Gunnar & his twin Matthew broke on the scene in 1990 with their "After The Rain" album (which came out during my DJ days at "The All-New, All-Hit B-103" in State College, PA). Their first single "(Can't Live Without Your) Love & Affection" went to #1. Other singles included the title track, "More Than Ever" and "Only Time Will Tell." Nelson is at the Sellersville Theatre this Friday 7/16 (6pm & 9pm) for "Ricky Nelson Remembered Starring Matthew & Gunnar Nelson" (info at st94.com). Ricky was their dad who had two #1 songs (Poor Little Fool in 1958 and Travelin' Man in 1961) and another 16 Top 10 songs. Nelson's grandparents were none other than Ozzie & Harriet Nelson of "The Ozzie & Harriet Show" which started on the radio in 1944 and added TV to the mix in 1952. It remains the longest-running live action sitcom in U.S. history by number of episodes aired. Ozzie Nelson was a bandleader and had a #1 hit entitled "And Then Some" in 1935. That #1, along with Ricky's two #1 songs and Nelson's #1 make them the only family to have a #1 song in each of three consecutive generations. Former NFL player & longtime Philadelphia broadcaster Garry "G" Cobb also checks in to talk Eagles football just ahead of training camp and to share thoughts about & life lessons learned from his father Jesse aka "Pops" who passed away recently. Whenever Garry joins the show, he always shares not only good football & sports knowledge but also insight and encouragement pertaining to family, character, and faith in God--all usually with a humorous tone woven throughout. We're glad for Garry's friendship and willingness to hop on the air periodically. You can check him out at www.gcobb.com. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On this week's episode of The Mad Scientist Lab Podcast, we were very flattered to have none other than local pizzamaker and businessman Micheal Bozzelli join us!! From his father's humble beginnings in Italy all the way to opening his shop right down the street on Alban Rd. Mike goes into detail about his passion and struggles in the restaurant business. Mike was an intern on Capitol Hill for 3 years and realized it wasn't for him so he decided to drop it all and continue his father's legacy. We ask how the Pandemic has affected his business and Mike's response is nothing short of amazing. He truly believes that it pushes him to be a better businessman. All this talk of Pizza has RJ looking back at his time in Pizza World as he trades stories with Mike about the business that gave RJ so much. Is The Pizza Business in RJs DNA forever ?? Only Time Will Tell. We discuss Mike's favorite films and music when Greg makes the revelation that Scarface is a good bad movie?? And From The East to The West Coast Mike talks about his love for wine and how he even once tasted a wine so good he compares it to “Gold” Last but certainly not least RJ asks the most important question when it comes to Pizza. Does pineapple belong on the beloved food? We want to thank Mike for taking time out of his busy schedule to come talk shop with us and we wish him nothing but the best. Please if you have not tried Bozzelli's their are 4 locations (soon to be 5) across the DMV area from Alban Rd all the way to Washington D.C. Brett Garsed is one of Australia's most cherished guitar players. Known to most for his long time work in John Farnham's band, playing on the 24 times platinum (and biggest Australian release of all time) release, Whispering Jack as well as a long list of other classic Farnham albums. Not familiar? Maybe songs such as You're the Voice, Two Strong Hearts, Reasons, Pressure Down and Age of Reason to name a few that might jog your memory! That could be enough to ride the wave of glory until the end of time, however after the Farnham album 'Age of Reason', Brett decided to take a shot at the US market, relocating to Los Angeles and joining the band Nelson which subsequently lead to the release of the US double platinum album, 'After the Rain'. Not familiar? I Can't Live Without Your (Love and Affection), More Than Ever, Only Time Will Tell and of course the title track can't be forgotten! Hit after hit, after hit. By the early 90s, Brett had already worked with some of the world's very best. After Nelson fizzled out by the mid-90s, Brett went on to stay in Los Angeles for a total of 14 years contributing to various projects with some of rock's elite such as Derek Sherinian (ex-Dream Theater) playing on several Planet X releases, and embarking on a long run with guitar freakshow (I say that with endearment!), TJ Helmerich. In the early 2000's, Brett made the decision to come back to Australia and return to regional Victoria where he grew up as a child. Returning to John Farnham's band, releasing solo albums and popping up as a guest on various projects, events and tours, Brett is still in the thick of it and held in high regard as one of Australia's greatest guitarists. When Brett said yes to be on the podcast, I didn't hesitate in travelling to Brett's place to chew his ear off about his career and thoughts on specific songs he's been a part of over the years (I had to ask him about Let Me Out - what a solo!). I also picking his brain about some of the big decisions he has made over the years, comparisons of working with different artists and some of those 'pinch yourself' moments that many of us musicians and music fans in general would only dream of experiencing. As always, I ask a bunch of stupid questions and I also had Mark Furtner (from our band LORD) contribute a small Q&A section toward the end of the chat. That's worth listening to alone! Thank you mork. If you want to learn more about Brett and his incredible career and mountain of work, be sure to check out his website, follow him on the socials and reach out to say hi. Lot's of classic videos in the show notes as well to enjoy. Check out the Let Me Out video! Show notes Follow Brett via Main Website | Facebook | YouTube | Spotify |

And now, a little music from a former Balti-moron who enjoys both a national and international career. Victoria Vox is an award-winning singer/songwriter who is one of the leading artists on the ukulele scene. She’s also a fixture on the national folk music scene. She’s opened for Jackson Browne, Leo Kottke, Cheryl Wheeler and Tom Chapin, among others. She moved from Baltimore to Costa Mesa, California, a couple of years ago, and she’s back in the area doing some events this weekend. Victoria is giving a songwriting workshop at the Creative Alliance tomorrow afternoon. She’s playing in Columbia on Saturday, in Westminster on Sunday afternoon, and in Hagerstown Sunday night. Her new album is called Colorful Heart. She’s been kind enough to stop by, with her ukulele…and her inimitable mouth trumpet. Today's performance was live-streamed on WYPR's Facebook page, and you can find the video here.Victoria Vox performs these songs from her new CD, in this order: Only Time Will Tell; Daytime Moon; and Sounds of Summer...

The dictionary defines soulful as of or expressive of deep feeling or emotion: Soulful House is recognizable by its often very catchy bassline, swooshes, swirls and other synthesized sounds which give the music a bouncy tempo. It often relies heavily on black female vocals or disco samples and has a recognizable tiered structure in which every track has more than one build-up which usually reaches a climax before the process is repeated with the next track. Soulful House music More melodic and often vocal House music. Soulful House has a healthy underground scene, albeit split across the world with popular hot spots being Chicago, New York, London, Brazil, Melbourne and South Africa. It remains fairly underground with a scene similar to the soul and jazz-funk scene in the 70s and 80s. The demographic is predominantly people in their late 20s upwards, with many liking the sound as reminiscent of what they grew up with in the 70s and 80s (i.e. soul, funk, disco and jazz coupled with early 80′s electronic music). Some of the popular artists at the forefront of soulful house are Masters at Work (Little Louie Vega & Kenny “Dope” Gonzales), Dennis Ferrer, Blaze, Barbara Tucker, Kenny Bobien, Stephanie Cooke (US) and in the UK, Joey Negro, Fanatix, The Layabouts, DeepCitySoul, Aphrodisiax, Soul Renegades and Andy Ward among others continue to grow and develop the scene. So sit back and enjoy this set full of familiar soulful voices and tunes from the past and present . Peace and Love People! 1. It’s Your World (Terry Hunter Club Mix) - Jennifer Hudson, R. Kelly 2.
