On episode #87 of the CardsChat podcast, we have the pleasure of welcoming Phil Galfond. He is one of the most successful, respected, and well-liked people in poker. He's played and crushed the highest-stakes No-Limit Hold ‘em and Pot-Limit Omaha games both live and online. He's also been one of the game's best coaches for over 15 years and has created one of the premier poker training sites on the market, which has also evolved into an online playing site that he's hoping to re-launch in the US soon. All of this, and he has a lovely wife and three-year-old son as well. What else can we say, but it's great to be Phil Galfond, and we're glad to have him with us on this episode of the CardsChat podcast

One of the biggest untapped markets for casino gambling is the state of Texas. With the Las Vegas Sands dropping Las Vegas from its company name, it is looking for other ways to expand. The late Sheldon Adelson had earmarked Texas as top target for expanding his gaming company’s US presence. After spending millions on Texan lobbyists, a new TV ad campaign is the next phase of the effort. The Sands has identified Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston and Austin as four prime markets for a world-class casino destination resort. Former Kansas City Riverboat Casino Gets a $40 Million FaceliftWhen Bally’s Corp bought the former Isle of Capri Riverboat Casino from Eldorado Resorts, it already had big plans. The company renamed the property to Casino KC last year. This year, it rolled out plans for a $40 million-dollar renovation. Expecting to break ground this June, the first phase of the project would be completed by December of next year. This includes a complete casino renovation with a 45-foot tall addition. Phase 1 also includes a 36,000 square-foot addition for retail and dining facilities. The next phase calls for a new 150-room hotel and 3000-seat amphitheater. Dogecoin’s Market Value Increases 400% in One WeekDogecoin is now a Top 10 cryptocurrency in terms of market worth due to an increase of 400% according to the Army Of Bitcoin. As of trading on Friday, April 16, its price doubled to 32 cents in a 24-hour span. Coinbase going public along high-profile attention from Tesla CEO Elon Musk are helping to drive these gains. Now valued at $40 billion, this has also spiked fears from investors of a market bubble. As these types of rapid increases take place, the more likely the bubble will burst. Speculative buying is based on buying low and selling high. In this case, the exact opposite scenario may take place.  The World Series of Poker Releases its 2021 Online Summer SeriesStarting on Thursday, July 1 and running right through the end of the month, the World Series of Poker will run its WSOP Online 2021 domestic series. This should be bigger than ever with each week having its own special theme according to the AmericanPokerDirectory.com. Premier Week is highlighted by the $500 NLHE Big 500 Kick Off on July 1. Micro Madness features a string of four NLHE gold bracelet events. PLO Week has three different Pot Limit Omaha events. Everything draws to a close with Championship Week. Featured events include the first-ever $1000 Online PLO Championship. The top event is the $1000 No Limit Hold’em Championship on July 31.
