Disruptions to the used car market over the past few years have changed the automotive landscape permanently. Not only were fewer new cars sold during the pandemic, but the addition of electric vehicles and a shift to agency agreements by OEMs has necessitated a new approach to valuations, stock acquisition strategies and sales operations. In our next Auto Retail Live webinar we'll examine these influences on the used car market and provide the insight needed to adapt your operations to ensure ongoing success. We'll have Robert Forrester, CEO of Vertu, Rupert Pontin from AutoAPI and John Veichmanis, CEO of Carwow, all available online to discuss these topics, answer your questions and help you get ready for 2024. We'll unpack the intricacies of new car supply and its ripple effect on the used car market. Our experts will help you plan for the influx of March plate-change trade-ins and discuss the impact agency agreements will have on used car retailing. The focus for this webinar will be to prepare retailers for the first quarter of 2024 up to and including the March plate-change and the increase in part-exchanges. Topics and questions for discussion include: • Market overview – where are we now (including economic factors) • Outlook for Q1 valuations (March plate change) • Influence of agency on used cars and trade-ins • New car supply pressure on used • Impact of rising EV mix and consumer demand • Consumer behaviour when changing cars

In the 25+ years since Tarantino adapted the Elmore Leonard novel, Rum Punch, Jackie Brown has managed to age like Pam Grier herself, which is to say, incredibly. Cal and Alex wax on about how this is Quentin's most traditional film (but not in a bad way), how Alex's cool flight attendant grandma introduced her to this film, and how Pam Grier, Robert De Nero, Samuel L Jackson, and Robert Forrester turned in some truly excellent performances. Robert Forrester is the CEO of Vertu Motors plc, currently the fifth-largest automotive retailer in the UK. He got into his current role through a series of accidents. His life changed when he was diagnosed with a deadly disease. Immediately, he understood what he wanted to do next, personally and professionally. He believes that people need to figure out what they want from life early on, create a plan, and execute it.Strong mental preparation and focus helped Robert respond to setbacks with positivity. Robert's advice on handling adversity with less stress and worry is to trust your support network, work on your mindset daily, and build your personality to be confident and aligned when faced with challenges. He believes that to build strong relationships, we need to show genuine interest in others and do things for them without expecting anything in return because loyalty and friendships are what we get back and that is priceless. Those are tips that Robert learned from reading Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People as a young leader. He admits that he was not a people person at the beginning of his career. Still, he quickly realized that he needed to work on his social skills to succeed in business, influence others, and achieve win-win outcomes.Join us and listen to Robert's insights on mental focus, leadership, fast decision-making, and the power of communication during challenging times.Books and Authors mentioned in the Podcast:Marcus Aurelius –Meditations: Book of Knowledge and Philosophy Handbook our lives are what our thoughts make it”Dale Carnegie – How to Win Friends and Influence PeopleGreig Huntington - Risk: A Road Worth TravelingJohn MaxwellFranklin Covey

Hey kids! We're taking a little break this week as we head into the conclusion of Season One Of Worlds Famous.. Don't worry though.. We have something fun for you. I blast from the past episode.. Let's see what we had to say about this one at the time... Hey kids. We have a real humdinger of a show this week! We're doing two of the things you guys seem to like me to talk about the most in the same feature! We're gonna talk food, AND do a Top 5! Plus, it's Halloween Related.. The Top 5 Halloween Candies Of All The Times! It's gonna be great. Before we get there though we have to pass through some somber space and confront the passing of Robert Forrester. I was lucky enough to meet Mr. Forrester once and I really wanted to share that story with you guys. He was a nice dude. For At The Movies we're gonna take a peek at a horror comedy called Zombieland: Double Tap. It's a sequel to a movie that came out ten years ago.. I don't know. We'll talk about it in a spoiler free way. Then it's on to the Main Event.. The Top 5 Trick Or Treat Candies Of All The Times. This is a pretty fun one. Basically the idea is, when I was sorting out my post Trick Or Treat winnings what were the candies that I gave the highest priority to...? Which ones did I either eat first or save for last? It's a ton of fun. For the final segment of the show we talk the recent blackout, Megos, Halloween decorations and a bunch of other cool topics. Thanks for tuning in. Have a happy/spooky Halloween and make sure to tell a friend...
