Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Tonight we will be looking at new connections uncovered in the global spider web of black market operations and PsyOps, how this ties into geopolitics and the way cults are used by higher level power players for multiple, deeper, and darker ends. This also ties into the infamous horror film, Rosemary's Baby. The modern cults of recent news fame tie directly into the pattern and model of older cults, especially in the 60s-70s era, when Manson and Co. were made famous. Likewise, even lesser known cults are tied into these networks, which relate to the account given in the Kerth Barker book we covered a year ago linked below.

Movie Meltdown - Episode 463 This week we welcome Dr. Ann Hall, Chair Comparative Humanities at University of Louisville, who not only teaches about film, but has also been a movie fan pretty much her whole life. So together we embark on our usual conversational trajectory as we bounce around from topics like… the old Hollywood publicity machine to favorite holiday movies. We also address the role of women in film in general to more specifically - the role of women in horror films. Plus a lot of other random discussions along the way. And before we’re done, someone in the cast tells us how - this one time... they met Bill Murray. And as we all leisurely lounge in a bathtub full of milk, we also mention… the Hays code, Tex Avery cartoons, Cecil B. DeMille, Turn of the Screw, Florence Lawrence, Rosemary's Baby, associated with the lowbrow medium… like film, Sigourney Weaver, celebrity magazines, she began as a flapper, It's a Wonderful Life, clean up her act, Miracle at St. Anna, babysitters, spectacle vs. story, Joan Crawford, The Others, Die Hard, visual literacy, Babette's Feast, we were hiding from the trick-or-treaters, old soda ads, The Conjuring, CG creating new celebrity performances, idealizing children, Nosferatu, Avalon, Carrie Underwood is Julie Andrews, a teaching conundrum, North by Northwest, manager their image, Claudette Colbert, was called box office poison, Mildred Pierce, In Cold Blood, Laura Mulvey essay, Ira Levin, he looked a little like John Hurt’s Elephant Man, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Shadow of the Vampire, Torch Song Trilogy, attuned to beauty, Chris Evans, Bad Santa, always looking for patterns, what have you done to it’s eyes, right of refusal with scripts, Katharine Hepburn, soda ads, Get Out, people that live in it… don’t seem to live, an American success story, brows, cheekbones, lips and hair, The Innocents, the way that women are treated in different types of media, The Sign of the Cross, soap ads, the biograph girl and clerics on consultancy. “...it wasn’t meant to be... provocative… and I think they got a little carried away!”
Sylvia takes Bob and Dustin back to 1968 to talk about the classic horror film Rosemary's Baby starring Mia Farrow and John Cassavetes. Desirous of starting a family, the young Catholic housewife, Rosemary Woodhouse, and her struggling actor husband, Guy, move into the Bramford, New York's iconic building which brims with unpleasant stories of obscure dwellers and ghastly occurrences. Before long, the young couple is befriended by their elderly and somehow eccentric next-door neighbours, Roman and Minnie Castevet--and shortly after--Rosemary unexpectedly gets pregnant. However, little by little, as the inexperienced mother becomes systematically cut off from her circle and friends, alarming hints of a well-planned and sinister conspiracy will begin to emerge, enfolding Rosemary in a shroud of suspicion and mental agony. In the end, why is everyone so conveniently eager to help; furthermore, why is Guy allowing it? Bob and Dustin did not take well to this movie.
The Next 125 Project is our final choice in Scary Movie Month and it’s got us yapping about the big bad red guy for the 2nd week in a row. While Ruth Gordon’s Oscar-winning work feels a little silly now, Mia Farrow gives the performance of her life. Controversial writer/director Roman Polanski’s red-letter moments are worth the hype, but what about the movie as a whole (especially as a horror picture)? Enhh, we've got mixed feelings. And what’s with witches and devils always following rules & obeying contracts? That was a theme in this month's horror flicks. We get into all that, but you gotta get into Sparkplug Coffee and win a 10% discount when you use our promo code “top100project”.
Is Mia Farrow an alien? Join us as we discuss Rosemary's Baby! We talk about the "no biggie" rape event, drugged Jello pudding, the lack of a murderous rampage at the end and MUCH MORE!
50 years ago, Satanists welcomed a bundle of joy in the form of the movie Rosemary's Baby. Fascinating for its portrayal of everyday people as Satanists, the film also tackles themes of feminism, bodily autonomy, conspiracy, and paranoia – all still relevant to Satanists today. And, of course, there's fact that this classic film needs to be reconciled with the deeds of its director. Hosts Simone, Daniel, Tabitha, and special guest Sadie Satanas discuss all this, plus our plans for our own upcoming screening, how the Satanic Temple - Arizona made peace with the YWCA, and how Mia Farrow's son Ronan is smoking hot.
This week we pit the Roman Polanski classic Rosemary's Baby against the 2014 mini-series produced by Zoe Saldana. We throw in a bonus disagreement about The Fly!

Let's Do Lunch! visits Rosemary's in New York's Greenwich Village for a delicious Italian tasting. Named for the owner's mother, it borrows her warmth and hospitality from her home in Tuscany. Executive chef Wade Moises began his career under far less glamorous circumstances, working at a biker bar flipping burgers where the staff was a shady lot on parole from prison. The experience motivated him to study at The Culinary Institute of America where he honed his penchant for Italian cooking. It was the early 90s and Wade was hooked on Mario Batali's cooking show, vowing right then and there to work with the restauranteur. And he did just that sharpening his skills at Batali's Babbo and Lupa. Coming to Rosemary's after his travels through Italy, Wade has fine tuned his creations with such dishes as salami style octopus, orecchiette with homemade pork sausage, and linguini with zesty lemon and chilis which he describes as a sleeper hit. The house made foccacia is draped with a thin sliver of lardo which you can also dress with Wade's caponata made in the traditional Sicilian style topped with pinenuts. Salads are a specialty at Rosemary's featuring celery Caesar salad, crunchy radishes, and rooftop garden salad made from herbs and lettuces grown right on the restaurant's roof, and spicy cabbage which Wade renamed Sicilian kimchi!
