If your child's heart is motivated and governed by those two truths, and you help him to embrace that kind of affection for God and neighbor, you will serve your child well. This one's gonna hit a little close to home. You might have noticed I've been a bit off schedule this past week. That's because I was helping to take care of my Dad, George Pannell. As I shared in the previous episode, Dad passed away after a two-year long fight with metastatic prostate cancer on the morning of April 2nd.Today, I'm sharing how my Dad, George Pannell, held onto hope while keeping his fighting spirit and actively participating in his care plan. So, take a listen to this, Dad. This one's for you. You may be gone, but the lessons you taught me, the way you faced your challenge – that will stay with me forever. Thanks for showing me what it means to truly fight. Stay safe out there, wash your hands, and Godspeed y'all, Kevin

In this "Giant Mess" movie lover and TV addict Neal Lynch gives his initial knee-jerk reactions to seeing Dune Part Two (spoiler: it's on the of best movies of all-time) in the theater, the scarily accurate yet ironic prediction from sci-fi writer Arthur C. Clarke that kicked off the BlackBerry movie on Hulu starring Glenn Howerton and Jay Baruchel, the final release from the failed DC Extended Universe -- Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on HBO Max, and Apple TV's Foundation Season 2 featuring the beefcakiest stud Lee Pace. When it comes to leadership development, we often look for the “silver bullet”—what is the next tool or technique that can help me become a better leader? The reality is there is no silver bullet, no tip or technique that can enable exceptional leadership. In this episode of the Be Worth* Following podcast, Peter Anderton, executive coach, and keynote speaker, reminds us of some simple truths about leadership that have been around for millenia. He shares these as two rules he believes every leader should know in order to remove the “training wheels” of their leadership and truly impact their teams . . . and the bottom line. There appear to be two standards of justice in America.
"From any tree of the garden you may freely eat." Ge 2:16 NASAdam had the perfect job, perfect home, perfect marriage, and the perfect environment; all the things we strive for. So how did it come about? As a result of his relationship with God! God basically gave him two rules to live by: "From any tree of the garden you may freely eat; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will certainly die" (vv. 16-17 NAS). So, the two rules are these: (1)With God, what you get back is always greater than what you give up. "From any tree of the garden you may freely eat." But what we so often do-and what legalistic religion does-is look at that Scripture and similar Scriptures and focus on what we can't do.The truth is, when our list of can't do's exceeds our list of what we're free to do, we have gone far beyond what the Scriptures intended. The Christian life should be measured by what you're free to enjoy, not by what you're denied. (2) When you live your life according to God's Word instead of your own impulses, you're blessed. "Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to...keep all my commands...so that it might go well with them" (Dt 5:29 NIV). The only thing God denies us is the right to determine for ourselves what's "good or evil," because He knows we're not qualified to do it. We must live by divine revelation rather than human inclination. God in His love and wisdom set this limitation in place to protect and bless us.I "That it might go well with them"Support the showChanging Lives | Building Strong Family | Impacting Our Community For Jesus Christ!

Why is the default of humanity the desire for rules when it comes to relationship with deity? God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) has always been a relational familial family who desires for humanity to be a part of their other centered love, compassion, grace and joy. We must stop adopting a pragmatic approach to relationship with God and provide people an encounter with the Jesus we carry. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thekingdom4everyone/support
