Paranormal investigator Heather Taddy (Paranormal State, Alien Highway, Portals to Hell) joins Aaron Sagers to talk haunted prisons, shadow figures, and the eerie activity captured in the latest episode of her hit YouTube series, Travel the Dead. Alongside Katrina Weidman, Heather investigates Cambria County Jail in Ebensburg, PA — where slamming jail cells, rainstorms, and full-body apparitions make this one of their wildest episodes yet. Heather also recounts one of her most intense paranormal encounters: a chilling ghost story from Ohio State Reformatory (aka The Shawshank Redemption Prison) in May 2025 — with Aaron, Mike Ricksecker, and Ben Hansen (UFO Witness) along for the ride. Do you think prisons are the most haunted places in America? Drop your theories in the comments. Want to join Aaron live and ask guests your own questions? Boston Common has the distinction of being the first Public Park in America after Puritan colonists bought the land in 1634. Though it's beautiful today, this park has a deeply dark history. It quickly became the grounds for Puritan punishments (think: whipping posts, stocks, and executions). Grab a warm cup as we explore the lives of women who were put to death here and whether or not they still haunt the grounds today.Tea of the Day: DM & Co. Greg Gearhart and Victor Mihalchuk were sipping coffee and having lunch with their colleague Cameron Tyler of Moonracer films when they thought, “the food scene in Sacramento is so amazing…what if we filmed it.” That nugget of an idea launched what is now one of the most beautiful celebrations of Sacramento and its food you will ever see called Breaking Bread. On Tuesday September 5 there was a very special premiere of the amazing limited series and the next day we sat down with Greg and Victor to talk about how the project came together, their experiences filming it and the amazing food they got to eat. Breaking Bread gives you wonderful, open conversations with some of Sacramento's best chefs and takes you behind the scenes of what makes the culinary scene in Sacramento so special. You will laugh, cry, get goosebumps and get that warm feeling of awe and appreciation when you watch this series. It is absolutely stunning, and we are proud to bring you a conversation with two of the gentlemen who made it happen. The first episode aired last night. You can watch Breaking Bread on KCRA 3 the next two episodes air: Sunday September 10, at 9 p.m. Sunday September 17, at 9 p.m. You can also watch on the Very Local app. Download it for free on your phone or streaming device. “Do what I say or I'll kill you and be gone in the dark” It's just before 6:30 AM on October 5th, 1976 when young mother Jane Carson is blindfolded and attacked with her 3YO son in the house. She is victim #5. 2 months later, 15 YO Kris Pedretti stops playing piano, thinking she heard something in the other room, despite being alone in her house. She is victim #10. A year later, true crime fan Margaret Wardlow studies this serial killer, not knowing that she would become the 27th victim of the man she had read so much about. He's been known under many different names: the Visalia ransacker, the East Area Rapist, the Original Night Stalker or the Golden State Killer, but 44 years later, 200 witnesses stand in front of him to make sure justice is served. Danielle Spinola has been serving her specialty tea blends to Pittsburghers since 2007. In 2016, she expanded Tupelo Honey Teas and opened a plant-based cafe in Millvale, returning to her hometown and working to build community with an emphasis on sustainability and collaboration. In this episode, she gives an excellent tea explainer and discusses the health benefits of the beverage. We learn her views about plants as medicine and the level of care she and her team take when blending and selling tea to customers. Is tea, well, not your cup of tea? Spinola takes a “thinking outside the box” approach to tea and her business, which means that her blends are often used in collaborations with local breweries and distilleries for some harder-edged drinks. The episode concludes with her latest collaboration project: She is foraging in Girty's Woods each week to create a tea used to raise money for the Allegheny Land Trust's purchase of the 155 acres that span Millvale, Shaler, and Reserve in order to preserve it as green space. Plus: What goes great with tea? Cookies. This week, we dug through our archives to find a previously unreleased clip. Very Local freelancer/cookie enthusiast Boaz Frankel recommends his favorite chocolate chip cookies around town. Links in this episode: Tupelo Honey Teas Allegheny Land Trust Girty's Woods Initiative
