This week we're starting with a conversation that's bigger than basketball. The WNBA continues to grow at an incredible pace, but growth also comes with responsibility. I share why I'm becoming increasingly concerned about the league's leadership, Cathy Engelbert's role, and how inconsistent responses to major incidents are creating space for assumptions and distracting from the game itself. We also discuss the racial dynamics surrounding some of the biggest conversations in the league and why those discussions deserve to be handled with more care. From there, we get into everything that happened on the court. We talk about why the Valkyries continue to impress, whether the Tempo have officially won me over, the evolution of the Sparks under Lynne Roberts, the Liberty and Lynx matchup, Atlanta's frustrating inconsistency, where the Mercury go from here, and whether Olivia Miles has entered the MVP conversation. I also share my thoughts on standout performances by players like Frieda Bühner, Nia Coffey, Jessica Shepard, Justine Pissott, and more, while breaking down the biggest games and trends across the league. As always, this is a basketball-first conversation focused on habits, team building, decision-making, and the bigger picture of where the WNBA is headed.-Follow me on social media:https://linktr.ee/toriphillips5-Chapters:00:00 Intro00:17 Housekeeping | The best excuse ever03:54 The racial element of the big conversations happening surrounding the W09:26 Is the WNBA headed in the right direction? | The Cathy Problem 18:10 Player of the Week: Ola Kosu20:07 Who Won the Week: Valkyries22:22 The Basketball23:14 Valkyries vs Sun 27:11 UCLA Player Ranking 28:20 Wings vs Tempo | The Tempo are moving me30:16 Arike — A Wing for Life?32:15 Game Stats continued33:57 Sky vs Sparks 36:31 Lynne Roberts & The Sparks Evolution43:49 Liberty vs Lynx 44:22 Liberty Bigs …. This is maybe the biggest week in a game-changing year, and it's no time to be timid (which, by the end of the week, you definitely won't feel like doing anyway). The setup: Four of the slowest, heaviest planets in the sky have spent years crawling into a formation that finally clicks together now, all of them parked in brand-new signs, all of them in a weirdly cooperative arrangement that only comes around every few generations. The last time two of these particular ones got together like this, it was the 1920s. So, it's big big.Key moments of the week:Sunday, July 19: Mars in Gemini sextile Saturn in Aries (2:10PM)Monday, July 20: Jupiter in Leo trine Neptune in Aries (3:22AM)Monday, July 20: Jupiter in Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius (10:45AM)Tuesday, July 21: Jupiter in Leo sextile Uranus in Gemini (7:10AM)Wednesday, July 22: Sun enters Leo (3:13PM)Thursday, July 23: Sun in Leo square Chiron in Taurus (11:35AM)Thursday, July 23: Mercury stations direct in Cancer (6:58PM)Friday, July 24: Mercury in Cancer sextile Venus in Virgo (12:12AM)Saturday, July 25: Neptune in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius (1:48AM)Sunday, July 26: Saturn stations retrograde in Aries (3:56PM)To read your, your kids', and your co-parents' daily horoscopes for this week, along with the detailed daily insights throughout the week, and personalized insights for every transit going on right now (plus deep dive parenting guides based on your specific chart and your kids' charts), pop over to the website or either app store:Get started on the websiteiPhone and iPad appsAndroid app
Kiki is recording on fumes in the middle of moving week, surrounded by boxes, broken nails, damaged furniture, and enough bickering to make her wonder whether the stress is coming from the move or Mercury being in Gatorade again. She shares the chaotic reality of combining households with her man that's not her man, why his approach to the homebuying process has left her feeling out of the loop, and how to support a partner who is stressed without sounding controlling or turning into their unpaid project manager.Kiki also breaks down how Mercury retrograde may be affecting communication, relationships, collaborations, and major life transitions, plus what everyone should watch for during the post-retrograde shadow period. Then, she opens up a conversation about breakups, closure, ghosting, and whether every relationship deserves an exit interview.Production, tap in with your advice, and get ready for Sip & Spill, the new segment where listeners can call the Nightcap Number with anonymous confessions, questions, and stories before drunk-texting their ex.Go to brooklynbedding.com and use my promo code COCKTALESPOD at checkout to get 30% offsitewide during the {{2026 PROMOTION BELOW}}.VB Health- Try SOAKING WETGet 10% off SOAKING WET from VB Health with code COCKTALES visit SOAKINGWET.COM todayContact us!Advice: advice@cocktalespod.comCockTales: cocktales@cocktalespod.comNEW SEGMENTSIP & SPILL- Before you drunk-text your ex, call your best friend for the fourth time, or send a voice note you'll regret by sunrise… call the Nightcap Number and leave us a message.Confessions, questions, dilemmas, and stories—we want to hear it all.Sip responsibly. Episode 292In this podcast, New York Times best-selling author and astrologer Chani Nicholas discusses the astrology of the week and what it might mean for us all.The astrology of the week of July 20th, 2026, shines a spotlight on the ways we lead. When Jupiter (the planet of wisdom and abundance) trines Neptune (the planet of dreams and fantasy), we're inspired by an idealistic vision for our future — and gifted the motivation to turn it into a reality. As Jupiter's opposition to Pluto (the planet of the underworld) highlights the tensions between our principles and our outdated systems of power, a trine between Jupiter and Uranus (the planet of surprise and innovation) encourages us to expand our horizons in new and unexpected ways. And when the Sun and the South Node enter Leo, we're called to show up as the leaders we want to see in our lives and confront the egomania that's corrupting our communities. Now is the time to invest your energy in collective action and reckon with what's been hiding in the shadows. This episode covers:Jupiter's trine to Neptune on Monday, July 20thJupiter's opposition with Pluto Rx on Monday, July 20thJupiter's sextile to Uranus on Tuesday, July 21stThe Sun's entrance into Leo on Wednesday, July 22ndNeptune's sextile to Pluto on Wednesday, July 22ndThe end of Mercury retrograde in Cancer on Thursday, July 23rdMercury's sextile to Venus on Friday, July 24thThe start of Saturn's retrograde in Aries on Sunday, July 26thThe North Node's entrance into Aquarius and the South Node's entrance into Leo on Sunday, July 26thThe Sun's opposition with Pluto on Sunday, July 26thThis episode was recorded on 6/15/2026.This episode also mentioned the following article: “The Astrological Timeline of Your Life”For more, check out your free daily horoscope on the homepage of the CHANI app — now on iOS and Android. The music featured in the podcast was created by Latashá.
Mercury retrograde has been hitting hard this whole month, and if you have felt foggy, slow, weirdly emotional, or like July ground you to a halt, you are not imagining it. In this episode, Nicole makes sense of why this particular retrograde is landing so heavy, in the sky and in your Human Design. Mercury is retrograde in Cancer, the sign of all the feels, until it goes direct on July 23, and it is not moving alone. Nicole unpacks the two Human Design gates this transit is featuring right now, and the shadow side behind both the mental spin you cannot shut off and the restless pull to start something new before you even know what it is. Add in a couple of other retrogrades stirring things up, and the fog starts to make a lot of sense. What Nicole will not do is hand you a quick fix, because this is the weather and the invitation is different. She gets into what this energy is actually here to develop in you, why forcing your next move backfires right now, and the one practice she keeps coming back to when everything feels stuck. If July has had you questioning everything, this episode will leave you feeling less crazy and a lot more resourced. Free: Your Brand Edge by Human Design Profile Line. The extraordinary Cosmic Basket continues to unfold this week as Jupiter in Leo completes its powerful conversations with all of the outer planets, expanding our awareness and inviting us into an even greater level of consciousness. This rare planetary alliance continues to weave together the energies of growth, awakening, imagination, and transformation, encouraging us to embrace the future with courage, creativity, and heart. Midweek, Mercury ends its retrograde journey, bringing fresh clarity, renewed momentum, and the opportunity to move forward with new understanding. As the Sun completes its passage through Cancer and enters the radiant sign of Leo, it begins activating the very same evolutionary pattern, illuminating our creative spirit and reminding us that each of us has a unique light to share with the world. The week concludes as Saturn stations retrograde, inviting us to pause, reflect, and strengthen the foundations of the future we are beginning to build. Join me on this week's episode of The Golden Astrologer Podcast as we explore the next chapter of this remarkable cosmic story and discover how to work consciously with one of the most significant planetary patterns of our time.
This week, the heavens invite us into one of the most important conversations of the summer.Jupiter forms a series of powerful connections with Neptune, Pluto, and Uranus, asking us to imagine a bigger future while examining where we've been giving away our power. As the Sun enters Leo, we're invited to step more fully into our own creative authority, and when Mercury turns direct in Cancer, the insights we've been gathering over the past few weeks begin to find their voice.Rather than asking, "What's going to happen this week?" perhaps a better question is:What future is asking to be lived through you?Join me as we explore the mythology, astrology, Human Design, and Gene Keys shaping the week ahead—and discover the conversation the cosmos may be inviting you into.

This week we're working with ten transits, held together by four with long reach: the Sun enters Leo, Mercury turns Direct in Cancer, the North Node Retrogrades into Aquarius, and Saturn begins its Retrograde in Aries. Leo invites us to shine and yet the Nodes are quietly asking us to loosen our grip on the center. What would it cost to step out of the spotlight and rely on the people standing around us? We close with a Substack essay, The North Node in Aquarius: The Kingdom Without a King, tracing this axis back through a century of moments when the one at the center was asked to leave. The retrograde fog lifts, Leo season starts, and this week is the reset you have been waiting for This week is going to feel like a pressure valve releasing and then the volume turning all the way up. It opens with Mars and Saturn in a productive alliance on Sunday, drive meeting structure that builds a solid foundation for the future. Jupiter dominates Monday and Tuesday, making three significant connections in 48 hours that expand whatever it touches. The Sun moves into Leo on Wednesday and Leo season begins. Mercury stations direct (finally!) on Thursday after weeks of retrograde fog in Cancer. Friday closes the week with two harmonious aspects that give everything that happened earlier in the week somewhere to land. Basically, this is one of the most energetically loaded weeks of the summer for progress and forward motion. The Long Cycles ConvergeLast week we named three great cycles being activated simultaneously. This week Jupiter weaves through all three in rapid succession — bringing what is large and transpersonal into the realm of the humanly meaningful. Into story, culture, and the conversations where collective transformation actually takes root. This week also carries a transit that deserves its own moment of recognition. On Friday, Neptune in Aries sextiles Pluto in Aquarius, the two slowest moving planets in flowing alignment, directly activating their own great cycle seeded in the lates 1890s.And the Sun follows. Mercury stations direct. Saturn stations retrograde. A rare threshold is reaching its crescendo.Key Cycles This Week:Monday, July 20: Jupiter in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius and trines Neptune in Aries. Jupiter opens the week with two major contacts holding the essential tension of this entire threshold period. The opposition to Pluto, the Expander meeting the Transformer, activates the unfinished Uranus-Pluto Virgo revolution from the mid 1960's around power, identity, and who gets to flourish. Where does the desire to be fully seen meet the power structures that have historically demanded containment? On the same day Jupiter trines Neptune in Aries, activating the Uranus-Neptune Capricorn cycle from the early 1990's, the dissolution of old structures of authority and meaning. Flow rather than rupture. The invitation to imagine what might replace what is dissolving. Hold both transits together. The confrontation with power and the opening of new vision are the same threshold approached from two directions.Tuesday, July 21: Jupiter in Leo sextiles Uranus in Gemini. Jupiter completes its rapid weaving through all three long cycles. This sextile activates the Neptune-Pluto Gemini cycle from the late 1890's, the revolution in mind, communication, and shared reality. New ideas finding unexpected audiences. Connections forming between people and communities that would not ordinarily find each other. In two days Jupiter has touched all three great cycles, bringing each into the realm of collective story and shared meaning.Wednesday, July 22: Sun enters Leo. Leo season begins in a field already charged by everything building around it. The Sun in Leo asks what is genuinely alive in you that wants to be expressed — not performed, not managed, but genuinely offered from the place that knows its own worth. In a collective moment asking so much endurance, Leo season is not a distraction. It is a necessary counterweight.Thursday, July 23: Sun in Leo squares Chiron in Taurus. Mercury stations direct at 16 degrees Cancer. The desire to shine meets the wound of unworthiness in its most embodied form. Where does the body carry the memory of having been seen and found lacking? Let what is tender be visible to yourself at least. That is enough for today. At the same time Mercury stations direct, completing three weeks of retrograde review in the realm of feeling and belonging. What the interior work of these weeks revealed, the emotional truth that found language, the unfinished conversation revisited, is now ready to move forward. Trust what you know now. It is ready to be spoken.Friday, July 24: Neptune in Aries sextiles Pluto in Aquarius. Before Saturn and the Sun's confrontation with Pluto, something quieter and more vast deserves naming. The two slowest moving planets, the Imaginal Field and the Transformer, in flowing alignment. This is the great Neptune-Pluto cycle speaking to itself across time, the revolution in mind and shared reality seeded in the late 1890s now activated through a harmonious aspect between the two planets themselves. In the background of everything else moving through this week, this is a quiet and profound current. What is the imagination of humanity reaching toward beneath the noise and the breakdown? What is being dissolved so that something genuinely new can find its form? These are questions that do not resolve in a day. But they are worth sitting with as the longest arc of the three great cycles makes itself briefly, quietly known.Sunday, July 26: Saturn stations retrograde at 15 degrees Aries. Sun in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius. Saturn turning inward begins months of honest interior review. What structures in your life are genuinely serving who you are becoming? On the same day the Sun opposes Pluto, the Conscious Self meeting the Transformer directly. Where are you being asked to step into genuine visibility in the face of systems that have historically demanded your containment? Sun opposing Pluto makes that question undeniable. Sometimes the undeniable question is the most useful gift.Looking Ahead to Next WeekMonday, July 27 the Lunar Nodes change signs. The North Node enters Leo, the South Node enters Aquarius — an eighteen-month shift asking the collective to develop toward genuine creative expression and the courage to offer individual gifts in service of the whole.Wednesday, July 29 brings a Full Moon at 6 degrees of Aquarius conjunct Pluto, opposing Jupiter in Leo, and activating all three long cycles simultaneously. The Sun and Moon in direct contact with Pluto while touching Neptune in Aries and Uranus in Gemini. This is the culmination of everything this arc has been building toward. Its own fuller story is coming in next's week podcast.Reflection QuestionsAs Jupiter weaves through all three long cycles, which thread feels most urgently alive in your own life and community right now?Where does the Sun squaring Chiron illuminate a wound around visibility or worthiness, and what would it mean to let that be seen rather than managed around? As Mercury stations direct and Saturn stations retrograde on the same day, what emotional truth is ready to be spoken, and what inner structure is ready to be honestly assessed? You are being prepared for something. Stay present to the preparation.Podcast poem: Working Together by David WhyteIf what we have been exploring these past two weeks is resonating — the long cycles, the thresholds of becoming, the invitation to shed what is false and remember what is genuinely true in you — I want to offer something that meets exactly that territory. The Inner Alchemist's Path is a private podcast journey through seven thresholds of transformation. This week marks a major turning point in July as Jupiter takes center stage, the Lunar Nodes change signs, and Saturn begins its retrograde journey. The future may feel louder than usual as powerful conversations unfold between Jupiter, Neptune, Pluto, and Uranus. At the same time, Leo season begins, Mercury completes its retrograde journey, and important karmic themes begin shifting into a new chapter. In this weekly astrology forecast, we'll explore how these energies may be helping you release what no longer fits, reclaim your power, and focus your energy on what you truly want to build moving forward. In this forecast:✨ Jupiter trine Neptune✨ Jupiter opposite Pluto✨ Jupiter sextile Uranus✨ Sun enters Leo✨ Mercury Retrograde ends✨ Pluto sextile Neptune✨ Saturn Retrograde begins✨ The Lunar Nodes change signs✨ Weekly Moon guidance and Void Moon periods
✨ This week is a major turning point. We're in the Dog Days of Summer, the hottest and slowest part of the season, beginning as the Sun aligns with Sirius, the Dog Star. It's a reminder to slow down, recharge, and enjoy life. At the same time, we're experiencing the ultra-rare Barbault Basket, a powerful alignment of Jupiter, Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus that signals the beginning of a new chapter for both humanity and our own lives.
Mercury goes direct on Thursday 23 July and three weeks of review, looping decisions and foggy hold-pattern finally ends. But there's a sequence to this week, and getting it in the wrong order is where most people trip. Monday hands you the biggest expansion of the season - Jupiter opens a genuinely large door, then runs straight into Pluto hours later, so the opportunity comes with a real cost attached. You'll want to lunge at it. You can't. The machinery doesn't come back online until Thursday. So the week has a shape: see the opportunity Monday, warm it up when the Sun enters Leo on Wednesday, green-light it Thursday, then check the foundation under it when Saturn turns retrograde on Sunday. This is a two-peak week. Protect Monday and Thursday, and let the rest be lighter. Plus your element briefing - fire, earth, air and water each have a different job this week - and the card pull for the room. The question to carry: what's the thing that's ready to move now, and am I brave enough to green-light it when Thursday comes? Chart-based operations for founders. Not horoscopes. Johnny Mac shares five good news stories: a new study suggests Earth might avoid being swallowed when the sun becomes a red giant because mass loss could weaken solar gravity and tidal effects may be weaker than once believed, potentially letting Earth drift outward (though Mercury and Venus would not). In Portland, Sunshine Division opened a free food market in Slabtown that lets families choose items like a grocery store and aims to serve up to 100,000 households, with about 80% of food donated. In Michigan, Titan Plumbing found an engagement ring in a sewer line and reunited it with Carol, lost for about 10 years, with paperwork dating to 1965; it was cleaned and revealed to be white gold. In Texas, an overturned truck released two million bees, and beekeepers helped recover and transport them to a honey farm. In Seattle's Chinatown International District, a dim sum dinner drew 900 attendees and Guinness counted 830 toward a new record, with 3,600 dumplings made by hand.00:00 Show Intro00:10 Earth Escapes Red Giant01:27 Free Choice Food Market02:07 Ring Found In Sewer03:16 Two Million Bees Rescue04:07 Dim Sum World Record04:53 Wrap Up And Sign Off5 Good News Stories is a daily podcast with five positive, uplifting news stories to brighten your day. The Moon pulls the tides of the ocean, but the question that won't let us go is simpler and stranger: what is it pulling in us? Melanie Reinhart joins me for a wide, grounded, moonlit ramble through lunar consciousness, astrology, and the body. We start with the moon as a constant companion for earthlings, a reliable rhythm of waxing and waning that can steady us when life feels politically, personally, and collectively turbulent. From there, we drop into somatic territory. We talk craniosacral therapy and the experience of “tides” in the system, from surface noise to the deeper mid tide and the long tide where time feels different. That becomes a living metaphor for the lunar path: not a heroic push to achieve, but a deepening that restores life force. We also bring in the Orphic Hymn to the Moon as an invocation practice and explore why reverence matters, not as an antique idea but as a way to relate to powers we still live inside. We get practical about moon phases too: the dark of the moon as a window for retreat, the full moon as an emotional amplifier, and how lunar timing can support better choices in work, conflict, learning, and creativity. We move into dreams as night-world digestion, why forcing interpretations can block the nourishment, and how light pollution mirrors a cultural forgetting of darkness, sleep, and imagination. If you care about the lunar cycle, dreamwork, depth psychology, the Jungian unconscious, or the roots of astrology in the night sky, this conversation is for you.*the above blurb was auto-generated by Buzzsprout's AI.Cover Artwork is The Fairy of the moon by Hermann Kaulbach (b&w) circa 1891 with a background extension from Canva. The Orphic Hymns including the one in this episode dedicated to the moon, and the invocation with Musaeus. It's the Thomas Taylor translation from 1792. Melanie's personal favourite.Find out more about Melanie and her work here. She has many great books including, famously, Chiron and the Healing Journey.Melanie reads from:Dane Rudhyar, The Lunation Cycle: A Key to the Understanding of Personality, from the section “The Pattern of the Lunation Cycle.”Rudolf Steiner, “In Pure Rays of Light” The verse appears in Esoteric Instructions (GA 264), with related commentary in an esoteric lesson of 5 December 1907 (GA 266/I).We discuss:Iain McGilchrist's book: The Master and his Emissary and associate right brain activity with the moon and left brain with Mercury.Jung, obviously, comes up a lot. I paraphrase this quotation from him.We also talk about the Tides in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. If you'd like to know more about that the work of Franklyn Sills (may he rest in peace) is a good starting point.Clearing up the confusion of the 'far side' vs the 'dark side' of the moon we go to NASA...But always appreciative to Pink Floyd for creating such confusion but also such a cracking album.Melanie also mentions the Dark Sky Movement. Such important work. Have a look at darksky.org.We also acknowledge that "mentor" is not etymologically related to Mene or taurus. The Metaphysical Hour with Julia Cannon and Tracie Mahan and Question Master Tiffanny Vortexes, Sacred Geometry, and the Heart's Guidance Through Shifting Timelines Lighting the Grid and Moving Through Mercury Retrograde In this episode of The Metaphysical Hour, Julia Cannon, Tracie Mahan, and Tiffany welcome listeners from around the world and invite them to “shine their light” into the larger energetic grid. Tracie gives an update on her move, explaining how Mercury retrograde has brought delays, disruptions, and redirections, but also completion and progress. She reflects on leaving her former home, feeling the energetic disconnect already happening, and even calling her personal “vortexes” to join her in her temporary space before moving into the next home. Guidance, Lessons, and the Courage to Change The first listener question asks why guidance from a guardian angel may not seem to be coming through. Julia and Tracie suggest that sometimes guidance is not about changing the outer situation but changing how a person is relating to it. They discuss the possibility that a difficult circumstance may contain a lesson the soul chose to explore, and that angels or guides may not interfere until the person recognizes what is being learned. They also clarify that rituals such as cutting cords or tearing up energetic contracts may be useful when they help someone establish boundaries and take an active role in choosing what they will or will not allow. Sacred Geometry, Crop Circles, and Living Patterns of Energy A major portion of the episode centers on sacred geometry, sparked by a question about the symbols in Tracie's background. Julia and Tracie describe sacred geometry as energetic patterning, vibration, and a kind of blueprint woven into life itself. They connect it to snowflakes, microscopic patterns, chakras, the Merkaba, the Flower of Life, Dr. Masaru Emoto's water research, sand-and-frequency demonstrations, and crop circles. Their discussion presents crop circles as frequency-based symbols or programs that can be received simply by looking at them, with Tracie and Julia describing the information as something that can be transmitted through pattern, vibration, and resonance. Crop Circles, Earth Frequencies, and the Meeting of Above and Below The crop-circle discussion continues with a question about whether they come from Earth or from ships. Julia and Tracie respond that they understand it as both: a frequency or craft-related activation that meets the Earth's response. They discuss why crop circles often appear in certain areas of the United Kingdom, pointing to land composition, white stone, water tables, and specific energetic environments. They also compare the appearance of crop circles to sending an email full of compressed information, suggesting that the symbol itself can carry more than the conscious mind immediately understands. Pets, Transition, and Permission to Go Another listener asks how to know when it is time to release a beloved pet. The hosts respond with tenderness, saying that animals often have an easier relationship with death because they do not think about it the way humans do. They encourage listeners to talk to their pets, listen for whether the animal feels ready, and recognize that animals may sometimes hold on because their humans are not ready to let go. Tracie and Julia also note that pets may carry energy or stress for people, and that a sudden burst of vitality near the end can happen even when the animal is still ready to transition. Protection, Fear, and the Safety Frequency The episode also addresses whether creating a protective circle every day might block spiritual growth by keeping out uncomfortable experiences. Julia and Tracie say no, explaining that if an experience is truly part of a person's learning, it can still come through. They frame protection practices, white-light pyramids, gatekeepers, and “I am safe” mantras as tools for calming fear and helping a person feel safe enough to proceed. The point, in their view, is not that there is necessarily something dangerous to block, but that a feeling of safety helps keep someone out of fear and in a higher creative vibration. Retrogrades, Timeline Shifts, and the Wisdom of the Heart In the closing portion, the hosts return to Mercury retrograde, new jobs, timeline shifts, solar flares, the Schumann resonance, and the sense that people's personalities and realities may be changing. Tracie shares that after a recent client session, she felt as if she had moved onto a different timeline where things flowed more smoothly. The hosts suggest that something larger than Mercury retrograde may be happening, with upgrades and energetic integration unfolding in the background. The final question asks about head-versus-heart conflict, and Julia and Tracie answer that the heart knows: when the head rationalizes and confuses, the heart points toward what brings joy, relief, and authentic alignment. The episode closes with information for finding Tracie through QHHTOfficial.com or TracieMahan.com, along with thanks to Tiffany and the audience.
July 19 - 25: FIND A WAYAs the pace begins to steady, this week's astrology invites us to lift our eyes from the trail beneath our feet and look toward the horizon. Recent months have demanded constant adjustments, but the sky now offers a wider perspective. Mercury is preparing to resume direct motion, Jupiter shines brightly from Cancer, and the deeper currents represented by the outer planets become easier to recognize. Rather than focusing only on the next task, this is a week for noticing the long arc of your journey and the quiet forces that have been shaping it all along.By request, let's check in on the outer outer planets, Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto who are all placed at 10 degrees of the signs they occupy. These outer transpersonal planets tend to push and indicate generational trends, spiritual awakenings, and evolutionary shifts. Neptune draws us collectively into spirituality, mysticism, and universal love, with the flip side also offering confusion, escapism, and deception into the realm of possibility. Currently retrograde and in Uttarabhadra/Pisces, Neptune is bringing our consciousness into the depths of cultural, religious, and even subconscious foundations. Uranus triggers awakenings, revolutions, insight, and innovation. Disruption of the status quo, personal liberation, and tech advancement can be results when Uranus is in effect. Currently direct and at 10 degrees Taurus, a fixed earth sign ruled by Venus, Uranus could be acting like a plow in fertile fields, digging in, pushing around, and revealing fertility in environments that feel stable but are bordering on stuck.Pluto governs transformation, the cycle of creation and destruction, and the hidden, deep elements of life and death. Retrograde Pluto sits at 10 degrees of Capricorn, about a third of the way through its nearly 20 year transit through Saturn's earth sign, indicating deep changes in foundations, restructuring of governmental and business entities, and revelations about karmic responsibilities on a large scale. This week, exalted Jupiter at 10 degrees Cancer will directly aspect both Neptune and Pluto, which could feel like a warm, guiding hand that pushes toward making mystical leaps and transformational discoveries needed to stay on path and growing. Saturn sitting with Neptune assists us in recognizing what needs to be released or recycled. Mars sitting with Uranus could bring a turbulent jolt that advances us through what has felt comfortable but stagnant. The Sun approaching Jupiter this week deepens the state of combustion, fusing the positive wisdom of Jupiter with the powerful light of the Sun. The waxing Moon gets alone time this week, moving through Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio, inviting careful activity at the beginning of the week, social connection in the middle, and deep introspection as the week winds up. Retrograde Mercury stabilizes and resumes direct motion at 23 degrees Gemini on Thursday, July 23rd. Finish up the edits and cuts this week, wipe the table, and get ready to create with a new perspective going forward, even if the materials are the same, it is time to repurpose them.As the Moon moves into Scorpio on Friday and Saturday, it receives the aspect of both Mars and Jupiter, a potent combination that could result in unexpected but possibly wanted connections that inspire positive action.Daily Keywords:Sunday July 19: CALM REFLECTIONMonday July 20: LEVERAGE POWER Tuesday July 21: SEEK SHELTERWednesday July 22: SALLY SIDEWAYSThursday July 23: FORKED PATHFriday July 24: LINK UPSaturday July 25: WALK ONHello! Hi there - it's Ashley. To my surprise, and possibly yours too, we're taking a summer break. Just a two week pause, for the rest of this Mercury retrograde and the rest of this month. I'm moving through some things right now that are growing me, expanding my capacity, and inviting me to do things very differently. To give myself space to process, and to truly receive what's coming through. I feel like I'm learning two things for the first time in my life. The first is my feminine energy. Being slow, soft, in flow, letting things unfold instead of rushing them with force and control. The second is self possession. Staying within myself, drawing a line and staying there. It feels like a rootedness in the pit of my stomach. My spine is tall, and there's no pride in it, just sureness. And at the same time, I can feel that it's not ready yet. I need to be quiet for a couple of weeks and let this move through me. The Live Authentic Challenge keeps going while I'm quiet. We're stepping into week three, the threshold. We'll look honestly at the gap between where you are and what you want, and where you can take responsibility for doing it differently while still honoring divine timing. We'll practice energetic check ins. And we'll explore the threshold itself, what it looks like when your nervous system is expanding to hold more, and what it means to stand in your middle space, that place where you can see clearly how you used to do it, how you're growing, and where you're going. The New Moon with Mercury retrograde brings a deep, contemplative mood we’ll try to maintain despite the world’s challenges.
We're publishing on a reduced schedule this month, and this episode needs to cover a lot of territory. Two weeks' worth, in fact, including the Cancer New Moon, the much-ballyhooed cradle configuration, rare aspects like Neptune's exact sextile to Pluto, Uranus's sextile to Neptune and trine to Pluto, the Lunar Nodes entering Aquarius and Leo, and, believe it or not, much more! So, hold on for a super-sized episode and a lot of aspects. Plus: Awaiting a sailboat, the backbone of the cradle, and the great commonality! Read a full transcript of this episode. Have a question you'd like answered on the show? Email April or leave it here! Subscribe to April's mailing list and get a free lunar workbook at each New Moon! Love the show? Make a donation! Timestamps [1:27] Moon Report! The Cancer New Moon (July 14, 2:43 am PDT) at 21°59' Cancer. This New Moon is on the Sabian symbol 22 Cancer, A woman awaiting a sailboat. This New Moon brings hard work and nostalgia, as the Sun and Moon square Saturn while conjunct retrograde Mercury in Cancer. [3:56] Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC). This is the New Moon in an LPFC that will unfold and extend this New Moon's messages over the coming three years. The First Quarter Moon (first action point) of this LPFC occurs on Apr. 13, 2027 (23°47' Cancer), the Full Moon (awareness point) will be on Jan. 11, 2028 (21°27' Cancer), and the Last Quarter Moon (final action point) is on Oct. 11, 2028 (18°41' Cancer). [5:25] A rare cradle configuration (July 15-24) involves the outer planets at 4° of their signs: Jupiter at 4 Leo, Uranus at 4 Gemini, Neptune at 4 Aries, and Pluto at 4 Aquarius. Address weaknesses and move toward purpose. Look for peak events that signal major societal shifts, grassroots movements, technological advancements, and the questioning of the establishment. [8:21] Uranus sextiles Neptune (July 15, 1:36 pm PDT) at 4°23' Gemini/Aries. It's the third of five that will form between Aug. 2025 and June 2027, and could bring new ways for us to share information, creativity and to connect. [10:55] Uranus trines Pluto (July 17, 9:43 pm PDT) at 4°29' Gemini/Aquarius, seeking to disrupt the status quo (Uranus) and consolidate power (Pluto). This is the first of five Uranus-Pluto trines that will form between Nov. 2026 and May 2028. [14:01] On July 20, Jupiter trines Neptune (12:23 am PDT, at 4°22' Leo/Aries) and opposes Pluto (7:44 am PDT, at 4°26' Leo/Aquarius). This week, ensure your hopes for how things should be don't distort your perception of reality. Don't let optimism and a desire for fun or creativity carry you away. [18:18] Jupiter sextile Uranus (July 21, 4:10 am PDT) at 4°37' Gemini and Leo. This aspect's disruptions can drive positive change, but its energy must be intentionally chosen and applied. [19:12] The Sun enters Leo (July 22, 12:13 pm PDT). This is the time of year to play, whatever that looks like to you. [20:51] The Sun opposes Pluto (July 26, 11:54 pm PDT) at 04°17' Leo/Aquarius. People or situations may disrupt your joy, abruptly reminding you that life is short. Expect to feel the effects of this transit from July 22-July 29, 2026. [21:51] Mercury stations direct (July 23, 3:58 pm PDT) at 16°18' Cancer. It turned retrograde on June 29, 2026. Mercury's retrogrades are times to relax, regroup and reflect. [23:08] Neptune sextile Pluto (July 24, 10:26 pm PDT) at 4°20' Aries/Aquarius. This is the first exact Neptune/Pluto sextile since May-June 1986. For nearly eight decades, the Neptune-Pluto sextile has appeared in most birth charts. It was exact multiple times between 1950–1956 and 1976–1986, and this week's exact alignment begins a final series running through February 2032. What is the commonality? [27:27] Saturn turns retrograde (July 26, 12:56 pm PDT) at 14°44' Aries, and it will turn direct on Dec. 10, 2026. Initiating new endeavors may go more smoothly if you can make a big push toward that project after Dec. 10. [29:50] The Lunar Nodes enter Aquarius and Leo (July 26, 5:46 pm PDT). The Nodes have been in Pisces/Virgo since Jan. 11, 2025, and they will be in Aquarius/Leo through Mar. 26, 2028. Check out Ep. 342 to learn about the difference between the Mean and True Nodes. The next 18 months are a prime time to channel your creative and managerial skills into helping an organization. This Cancer New Moon lands inside a Mercury retrograde and a rare planetary pattern I call the cosmic cradle, and it is asking every leader to do something we do not usually associate with power: soften. In this episode, I break down why Cancer's real power is not the power to protect, it is the power to feel safe enough to actually feel. I map the astrology behind why this quiet New Moon is anything but, and I go sign by sign through what this New Moon is asking each of you to plant, now that the guard is finally down.
