Some of us use our faith as a crutch and as a way to say I'm not doing this, I'm not earning this because of my faith. Is it really your faith? Or is it you and you're hiding behind your faith so you don't have to level up. When you have Tawakkul (Trust in God's Plan) you operate with Yaqeen (certainty) The more you know God and the reason for your creation it's a lot easier to move with that sense of certainty. To make more firm decisions. You operate knowing that no matter the outcome it's what's best for you. Tune into todays episode for 5 Ways you can choose Faith over Fear. How does the work we do in our day to day work impact others today and for generations to come? Join the conversation with Asma Bibi CEO of Hijabi Pop. Asma Bibi found her passion for fashion at a young age. While Asma was growing up in Philadelphia, a city largely populated with American Muslims, her parents operated a clothing business and her mother taught her the basics of garment making. From there Asma taught herself more advanced skills aided by online tutorials and YouTube. Asma's motivation for designing a fashion line stemmed from the gap she noticed in the fashion market for modern and modest clothing that appealed to young Muslim women. In 2017, Asma launched her brand Hijabi Pop with the mission of creating modest yet trendy outfits for millennial Muslim females. In 2018, the designer showed her collection at the Fall 2018 Hijab Fest, the CLF Conference in Atlanta, and New York Fashion Week. In the future, Asma's mission is to take her modest-wear line mainstream as a modest luxury brand. She takes pride in her determination and identity as an African-American Muslim woman. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bosshijabipreneur/support
During this episode Zubaidah and I tackle the conversation around Body positivity and how to use your voice, your business and/or your platform for Social Impact. I'm so excited for this season we have Jam packed episodes in the upcoming weeks! Zubaidah Abdul-Hakim is the CEO & Creative Director of Styled By Zubaidah, a Luxury Modest Clothing line for Plus Size Women. Zubaidah started Styled by Zubaidah in 2013 after realizing it was nearly impossible to find clothing that fit her body, personality and religious beliefs. There was a huge void in the fashion industry when it pertained to creating fashionable garments for the Plus Size modest woman. At the time no one catered to her specific needs and because of that Zubaidah made it her mission to create beautiful designs that the Modest Plus Size woman would enjoy wearing. I consider Styled By Zubaidah to be a Social Impact Biz. Social Impact is a significant, positive change that addresses a pressing social challenge. People who are considered Plus Size, or Curvy or othered in some shape or form experience social and emotional effects and various forms of dicrimination, lower wages, lower quality of life and susceptible to depression and low self esteem. At the age of 25 years old she found herself a mother of 5, severely struggling, depressed, and she knew life had to change. Most importantly she knew if it was going to change that she would have to put the hard work in on herself first. Over the next 10 years, she worked tirelessly to correct many childhood beliefs to adopt new beliefs that were healthy and progressive. Kim, being such a humanitarian always seeking to assist others, began to openly share her transformation online with the hopes of giving others the courage and permission to transform themselves from the inside out. Over the last six years, Kim has created a 6-figure annual income through the direct sales industry, coached thousands on how to duplicate that success & molded hundreds into leadership. Kim has also recently dove into real estate becoming a licensed real estate agent while diving into real estate investing. Kim is dedicated to excellence & showing others the importance of intentionally designing their lives.
