Church and human rights advocates fear that Article 23, as it's known, could require priests in Hong Kong to report anti-government activity they hear about in the confessional.

The Hurricanes boss has expressed disappointment with the rugby team's HQ over the women's side's controversial anti-government haka.  The team amended the words to use the phrase “karetao o te Kā-wana kaki-whero” or “puppets of this redneck Government”.  The Hurricanes plan to apologise.  Hurricanes Chief Executive Avan Lee told Mike Hosking that he's disappointed with the process and the words that were used.  He says he wasn't aware of anything in the pipeline, and there was no discussion or consultation.  LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Paulding County News Podcast Wednesday 20, 2023      A man, identified as Vincent DeNeale of Temple, has been arrested for allegedly spray-painting antigovernment sentiments, obscene words, and website/YouTube addresses at Mulberry Rock Park in Dallas, Paulding County. The vandalism occurred on August 19, and an arrest warrant was obtained on August 30. DeNeale was apprehended at Mulberry Rock Park on September 2. The vandalism included spray-painting various surfaces, such as the bathroom building, handicapped parking signs, a trash can, and the entrance sign. The sheriff's office is now seeking a witness who was driving a grey sedan. Anyone with information about the incident or the witness is encouraged to contact the Paulding Sheriff via their mobile app or the Criminal Investigations Tip Line at (770) 443-3047.............This from Fox 5    Sen. These charges include driving too fast for conditions, failure to signal a lane change or turn, failure to obey a stop sign, reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road, failure to maintain lane or improper driving on the road, driving with a suspended or revoked license, providing false information (name/address/birthday) to a law enforcement officer, and attempting to flee or elude law enforcement. All six suspects, including the driver of the car, face charges of felony murder, imprisonment, tampering with evidence, and concealing a death. Emde's son initially reported him missing, claiming he had drowned while kayaking in the Mississippi River. However, it was later revealed that Emde had pending charges of indecent liberties with a child and statutory rape of a child in North Carolina. Detectives uncovered that he had purchased prepaid phones and was tracked using them in collaboration with law enforcement agencies. Emde was arrested after a motorcycle chase and now faces the legal consequences of his charges in North Carolina.............This from WSBTV  Well, if you saw anyone floating down Goldmine Lake in Paulding County then you may have seen Melvin     Girl's killer identified more than 50 years after she was abducted in Georgia:  After over 50 years, authorities have identified the killer of 9-year-old Debbie Lynn Randall, who was abducted and killed in Georgia in 1972. Randall had gone missing while on her way home from a laundromat, and her body was found 16 days later, showing signs of sexual assault and strangulation. Advances in DNA and forensic technology played a pivotal role in cracking the cold case. DNA analysis, starting in 2001 and continuing through 2022, led to the identification of William Rose, a previously unsuspected individual who had committed suicide in 1974. The case demonstrates the potential of DNA testing to solve long-standing mysteries, and authorities plan to continue using such technology to investigate other cold cases.  This happened in the county next to us. We are glad they identified the killer, and not in our front door of Paulding County. On March 14th, 1912, Floyd Allen was accused of triggering a shootout at a courthouse where he was on trial for a separate crime. The shootout, which involved law enforcement and many members of the Allen clan killed the presiding judge, the prosecutor, the sheriff, and two others. There was confusion on who fired the first shots and who killed who, but in the end Floyd and his son were found guilty and sentenced to death and a few other family members received lengthy prison sentences. Under the Trump administration, hate, extremism, and white nationalism grew dramatically, but the insurrection at the nation's Capitol seemed to signal something else. The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks the activity of hate groups, just released their annual Year in Hate and Extremism report for 2020, and this one features a three-part study of what's being called antigovernment extremism. Our guest is Kate Bitz, a Program Manager and Trainer/Organizer with the Western States Center, which is affiliated with the Southern Poverty Law Center, and is an expert in tracking and countering white supremacy here in the Pacific Northwest. Communities in New Jersey and throughout the United States have experienced incidents stemming from a variety of ideologies associated with domestic terrorism, including an increased threat posed by white supremacist extremists. In 2019, domestic extremists conducted nine attacks and were responsible for an additional 35 plots, threats of violence, and instances of weapons stockpiling, according to an NJOHSP nationwide review. In particular, race-based extremists were responsible for 57 percent of all domestic terrorism incidents, highlighting a new threat focus for law enforcement. On April 19, 1995, at 9:02 AM, a Ryder moving truck parked at a drop-off zone situated under the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building's day-care center exploded in downtown Oklahoma City. The blast killed 168 people, injured more than 500 others, and destroyed one-third of the giant government building. Until the September 11, 2001 attacks over six years later, the Oklahoma City bombing would be the deadliest terrorist attack in the history of the United States.
