Armando Broja has been pictured back in full training alongside his Everton team-mates in the latest batch of photographs to be released from Finch Farm. The on-loan Chelsea striker hasn't featured in the first team since going off with an ankle ligament injury in the FA Cup third round tie against Peterborough United on January 9. Initially, new manager David Moyes admitted he was looking into the possibility of sending the Albania international back to Stamford Bridge to free up a potential domestic loan space given that the Blues had filled their two-man quota having also brought in Jack Harrison from Leeds United, but given that the issue wasn't as serious as originally feared, there are now hopes that the 23-year-old could feature again this season. In this episode of the Gegenpressing Podcast, Manuel Veth and Stefan Bienkowski discuss the latest transfer news in the Bundesliga. They start by talking about Bayern Munich's failed pursuit of Désiré Doué and Xavi Simons, and how it reflects a trend of the club going after young talents from other leagues instead of developing their own. They also discuss the defensive issues at Bayern and the need to focus on strengthening the back line. The hosts then move on to discuss VfB Stuttgart's transfer activity, particularly their pursuit of another striker despite already having several options in that position. Stuttgart is actively looking to strengthen their squad before the start of the season. They have been linked with Armando Broja from Chelsea and Loic Bade from Sevilla. These signings would provide depth and options in both attack and defense. The club's transfer activity shows their ambition to compete in Europe and solidify their position in the Bundesliga. Leipzig, on the other hand, has made a quick signing in Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge to replace Dani Olmo. The club is focused on building a strong squad to challenge for the Bundesliga title. There is a sense of opportunity in the league with Bayern Munich being dethroned last season, and multiple teams, including Leipzig, believing they have a chance to win the title.
In this episode, the team dives into the final part of their Keep, Sell, or Loan series for 2024 and it is all about Chelsea's forwards. The team also discuss the news that Chelsea have agreed a deal with Leicester City for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and as always also answer some listener questions. Hello Rank Squad! The whole gang's back together as Dean and Jack are joined by our Rank God Sam Tighe, who, we're delighted to say, has just become a father for the first time. Today we're talking about various things you need to watch out for on the week leading up to Deadline Day. Dean starts us off with three big names who could yet sneak their way into a move: Karim Benzema, Aaron Ramsdale, and Kieran Trippier; and also looks at three realistic movers who should be on their way this week: Armando Broja, Antonio Nusa, and Jhon Duran. We take a bit of a detour away from Things We Love to discuss a couple of the wilder transfer stories that have erupted over the past week or so - firstly the apparent swap offer between Inter and Manchester United for a deal that would involve Denzel Dumfries and Aaron Wan-Bissaka switching clubs; and also Ben Godfrey's seemingly very easy decision between Sheffield United, Leeds United, and... AC Milan. Then finally, Sam talks us through three things he wishes that he'd known before becoming a father, whilst Dean dishes out three pieces of advice he'd offer to any new parent as well. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?

There's transfer advice, captaincy picks, a watchlist update and these questions answered: Rank Sancho, Bruno, Rashford & Ronaldo ahead of United's great fixture run? Is big at the back turning into big in midfield? Silva, Foden or Gundogan? Should we stick with Raphinha or switch to an option like Foden or Bernardo as Leeds fixtures are very tough for the next few gameweeks? Is it time to say goodbye to Ivan Toney? Who's fixtures should we be targeting over the Christmas period? Should we consider Watkins with Villa's great fixtures? Thoughts on Armando Broja at Southampton?

We partook in a transfer window Q&A session with you guys this week, and we managed to get through pretty much every question (25ish!).So thank you for everyone who sent us questions, which unsurprisingly were largely based around transfer news.We tried our best to give you guys the latest information on things that are going on to the very best of our own knowledge. We began with a quick chat about the Euros, then went through these questions below in this order…@CFCLex - Off topic I know Dan watches Wimbledon what did he make of Andy's win yesterday?@RJ_Goodthings - 1) Hypothetically, if Chelsea didn't sign anyone or offload anyone, what chance would you give us of fighting for the PL title? (Knowing Tuchel has an off season to work with). 2) Out of you two, who brings more value to the table?@seblarsen08 - 1. Big IF, but if we can’t get our top targets (like Haaland/Lukaku/Rice) do you then think we will look for cheaper/alternative options? Or do we settle with current squad? 2. Heard a rumour that Mbappe won’t renew his contract, so is he an option?@shyamtalks - 1) Which of the returning loanees do you think has/have a good chance of making it to the senior team for the upcoming season?2) And do you guys think this is the make or break season for someone like RLC?@BigGeezerAlert - Alright lads. 1) Whos more likely to sign this summer, Adama Traore or Tchouameni? And Declan Rice or Erling Haaland? 2. As big Willy Caballero left 1st July, any updates on back up keepers coming in?@sarab_sahni - If you had to say the likeliest transfer to be done this summer for Chelsea out of the names mentioned for us who would it be and why?@CarefreeKenny - how confident are you both that rudiger and Christensen will sign new deals, does that happening affect if the club try to buy a CB?@BrandonStacey88 - If you could pick one player, other than Haaland, to join Chelsea this summer, who would it be? (Has to be realistic)@Andressveen - Will we se more academy talent coming through next season, and who? Any loans already in motion?@Germanskimisho - Will Chelsea sign a striker before the start of the new season?Do you think there is a chance of Ramos coming to Chelsea ?@SouthWPaw - Jan Arge tweeted no contact between Haalands camp and Chelsea but Dan tweeted that discussions are being held. What's true?@Yourhuman - Is it true that chelsea have had no contacts with Team Haaland as per Jan Fjortoft?@Qudusolaitan - What is really happening on Haaland? Simple as ABC@TheScore01 - Thoughts on Jan’s comments on Haaland, what’s really happening there?Likely signings in midfield? How soon will things be done? What’s your favourite summer dessert?@LukeCow02396065 - Chelsea have been relatively quiet in the market so far. Are we trying to sell players before we get new players in?@Faceman7 - Do you see Chelsea clearing out the whole list of unwanted players before the window ends?@MauriceWao - 1.Will Tino Livertmore sign a new contract at Chelsea? 2.Do you think Armando Broja will be given a chance in the first team next season?@Jon_DC91 - Lots of rumours about strikers coming in, but if we don't sign one, is there a chance Tammy stays or is that bridge burned?Any updates on a backup keeper if Kepa goes on loan?Does RLC still have what it takes to perform at the top level?Who's our top scorer next season?@CentreCarvahlo6 - It’s extremely unlikely to happen but if you’re Chelsea Football Club, you see Lionel Messi is a free agent, do you offer a 2-3yr contract? Wages will be insane and will definitely break our structure but it’s Lionel Messi, arguably the best player to have ever played@_CFC_Luke - Who is our 1st signing most likely to be?@MitchHa79746630 - How much are Chelsea interested in Sergio Ramos?@HimanshuSonaw14 - Will Adama Traore be our first signing for Chelsea? Thanks for joining us guys, we will speak to you all again next week when we will have a special transfer-related guest joining us, a good transfer news reporter…. I’ll leave that with you guys to ponder! For those who prefer to watch as well as listen, we have the video version available here. This is a public episode.
