A special Crime Courts and Public Safety update is the focus of Episode 10, after a week of criminals engaging in murder, random violence, brazen theft and drug and gun crimes. All this happened as Winnipeg still hasn't hired a new chief for the police service. Part 1- A brief roundup of recent podcast subjects including: - The spat between the Manitoba PC's and spurned candidate Susan Auch continues. She says the party made a bad situation worse by falsely claiming she hadn't filed required candidate paperwork.- A plank of PC leadership hopeful Wally Daudrich for a Port Nelson development got a boost from the LNG sector.- The spending problem and ballooning project costs at City Hall is nailed as "a disconnect between the electorate and those in power, allowing fiscal irresponsibility to persist unchecked" in a commentary by Winnipeg Sun publisher Kevin Klein.12.50 Part 2- Whether on a bus, walking downtown, or parking near the Children's Hospital, the people of Winnipeg are no longer safe. Without a chief of police in place, there's no coordinated strategy to make our streets safe again- although cops are making arrests including taxicab passengers and right outside the downtown headquarters. A common denominator in almost every case? A perp in breach of conditions or with outstanding warrants. 21.15- Night time violence on the streets of St. Boniface sent two women- including a 14 year old - to hospital. There was also two female seniors assaulted in a pair of downtown cases. Plus, two 16 year old boys are charged in a killing last weekend near Central Park. 28.00- Imaging racking up 68 charges all across the city.Stealing vehicles, fuel, purses, wallets, computers, booze, while victimizing church goers, music schools, a woman and her baby in a car, we discuss the one man crime wave finally tracked down by the cops, Travis Freddie Ducharme.32.30 - An eyewitness sent us an account of the crass behavior of opioid addicts at a St. Vital bar and grill. They noted how multiple crews responding to an overdose there could have been diverted from taking urgent calls for help from law-abiding citizens. Observing the overall situation, a woman online defended the efforts of police to apprehend violent criminals, writing "This place is terrible. There's no consideration for anybody's safety."We ask - Has your elected official spoken out lately? ******Saturday In the Winnipeg Sun:For years, a criminal racket used three properties on Lisgar Avenue to produce and distribute crack cocaine, with three more on Austin St. North also connected to the cartel. Court heard one of the homes saw over 150 people a day come to acquire drugs. After a forfeiture order, 21 new housing units owned and built by non-profit Purpose Construction will replace them in North Point Douglas. Power Rangers was one of the first superhero franchises I fell in love with as a child growing up in the 1990s. This year, Power Rangers is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar brand hopes to catch up with the actors, creators, and fans that play a significant role in keeping the Power Rangers legacy alive. It is a thrill to welcome Jake Rogers to The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. Jake runs the Sixth Ranger YouTube channel. This channel is the premier place for Power Rangers fans to discuss the show's lore and news surrounding the franchise's various films, comics, games, and seasons. His in-depth videos on topics that range from the timelines of the main Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers villains and the fate of the Zeo powers to the behind-the-scenes of the franchise's notable seasons, such as Power Rangers Zeo and Power Rangers in Space have been viewed over 14 million times on YouTube. OG cast members Austin St. John (Jason – Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo, and Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie) and Walter Jones (Zack – Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers and Power Rangers: Once and Always) have separately reacted to several Sixth Ranger videos. In addition to running the Sixth Ranger channel, Jake runs several other YouTube channels that cover various aspects of pop culture. Federation Outpost 1-11 pays homage to Star Trek, while Lord of the Rings fans congregates at The Broken Sword. Want to know about the adventures of Goku and Vegeta? Check out the History of Dragon Ball YouTube channel! Finally, Batman fans can gather at The Batcave to talk about the latest happenings in Gotham City. In this edition of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Jake Rogers talked about paying tribute to Jason David Frank and his hopes on how Power Rangers should celebrate their big milestone anniversary.

Sarah Joy Brown talks her time on "General Hospital", how she got her SAG card, what's next, and the very important audition where she was sent to the wrong place!About Sarah Joy Brown:Brown was born in Eureka, California to parents David and Pamela Brown. She attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts as a theatre major. Her acting career began at the age of 19, when she was cast as Kaitlin Star on Saban's syndicated action adventure science fantasy series, VR Troopers. In 1996, she made a guest appearance in a 3-part episode of Power Rangers Zeo playing Heather Thompson, a girl who has a crush on the Red Ranger's secret identity, Tommy Oliver, but it never leads anywhere. An article in FOX Kids Magazine claimed a member of the VR Troopers cast would be quitting the series to become a part of the Power Rangers cast, however the aforementioned Zeo three-parter and Brad Hawkins voicing the Gold Ranger prior to the return of Austin St. John as Jason Lee Scott is the closest anything like this ever came to happening. In April 1996, Brown originated the role Carly Corinthos on the American ABC soap opera General Hospital. Brown "quickly became an overnight sensation" and received three Daytime Emmy Awards for her portrayal of Carly. She won for Outstanding Younger Actress in 1997 and 1998, was nominated in 1999,and won again for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2000. Brown returned to General Hospital on January 31, 2008 in the role of Claudia Zacchara  left in mid October 2009. In 2010, she received her first Daytime Emmy nomination in the Lead Actress category for her work as Claudia Zacchara. After leaving General Hospital, Brown guest-starred on several television series, including Crossing Jordan, Strong Medicine and Without a Trace. She returned to daytime in the role of Julia Morrisey Larrabee on As the World Turns from August 2004 to March 2005, in which she appeared in 109 episodes. In 2004, Brown played the lead role of Kate Vignatti in the fact-based television movie The Perfect Husband: The Laci Peterson Story. She became a regular on the popular CBS crime drama Cold Case in the fall of 2005 but was let go after only a few months (she appeared in five episodes) with the series. In 2006, she starred in her first feature film, the comedy, Big Momma's House 2 and appeared in an episode of Monk the same year. Brown was also seen in the third season episode 12 of The Closer and on a 2007 episode of the Foxpolice drama K-Ville.In 2014, Brown played Massachusetts State Representative Katherine "Kate" Wesley in the soap opera web series Beacon Hill. She was nominated for a 2015 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in a New Approaches Drama Series, and won a 2015 Indie Series Award for Best Lead Actress (Drama) for the role.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/isarahjoybrown/Twitter: https://twitter.com/sarahjoybrownFollow the show on social media!                 Instagram: https://instagram.com/thanksforcominginpodcast/                 Twitter: https://twitter.com/tfci_podcast                  Facebook: http://facebook.com/thanksforcominginpodcast/                    Theme Music by Andrew Skrabutenas

Although I wasn't there when the ministers in charge of St. John Regular Baptist Association began the organization, my great-great-grandfather, Reverend Calvin Allen Sr., was. He was among reverends Jacob Fontaine, Jessie B. Shackles, John Henry Winn Sr., Buffington, and Horace Smith. His presence that day would ensure that I would be here today sharing with you their story and how they organized one of the largest independent associations of Black people within the state of Texas following the emancipation of enslaved Africans in the U.S. The St. John Regular Baptist Association went on to have over 200,000 members in its earlier years. In a 1904 editorial of the Austin American-Statesman, they predicted that the association and the Negro race will become extinct. It read, ‘When the shackles of slavery were thrown aside, the Negroes, yielding to licentiousness and ignorance will soon disappear.' Well, they were terribly mistaken because the St. John Regular Baptist Association continues until this very day. Upholding the same determination as those men who sat under that large canopy of the oak tree between 25th and Leon Street that decided they would take the future into their own hands and uplift their people.

Uncensored Radio's Guilty Pleasures is excited to chat with special guest Austin St. John aka “Jason Lee Scott,” the original Red Ranger, on Wednesday May 14, 2014. Austin St. John is best known for his role as “Jason Lee Scott,” the Red Power Ranger on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. At the age of 17, when the series premiered on the Fox Network, he was the youngest member of the original cast, but was also the most experienced at martial arts, which was integrated into his character on the show. Austin left the series mid-way through the second season, due to a contract and pay dispute, and was replaced as the Red Ranger on the show by Steve Cardenas. St. John later returned to the franchise as the Gold Ranger in Power Rangers: Zeo and as a guest star in the secondPower Rangers movie. His last Power Rangers appearance was in the tenth anniversary special “Forever Red,” where he joined nine other Red Ranger actors. After several years of service overseas St. John began making convention appearances throughout 2014 including a return to Power Morphicon in Los Angeles.
