It's no secret that parenting a child with ADHD can be overwhelming at times. However, with the right mindset and support, it can also be fulfilling and inspiring. In this week's episode of Focus Forward, I sat down with Archie Chimanayi, an ADHD professional who offers assessment, treatment, and management of ADHD, Autism, Depression and Anxiety for children and adults. Beyond his expertise, Archie also has a son who has ADHD and autism, which means he has a unique perspective of a professional and a parent of a child with a diagnosis that impacts Executive Functioning. I was lucky enough to be a guest on Archie's “ADHD Care” podcast back in May of 2024 and left the conversation knowing that he would be a perfect guest for the Focus Forward audience. The format of this episode is a little different than our usual interview format. I'll be playing three short clips from our original chat. After each clip, I'll share some of our recent conversation where we went beyond what we covered initially, bringing in fresh insights and more detailed discussion to help you as a parent, caretaker, or professional. With the Apollo space program winding down, things had really started moving fast in 1972. We were still quite young and often pleaded with our fathers, “Daddy, don't you walk so fast; what are you some kind of rocket man?”. Perhaps you had gone a ways and suddenly realized you had forgotten to use the restroom before you left home. Our fathers would just smile and say “It's too late to turn back now, but I know a place we can go, I'll take you there”. To you, your mom was a superwoman and yet she would gently remind you that it was summer time, schools out, so let's just take it easy. She would say “it's ok to lean on me”, but then remind you to be strong and always hold your head up. Then there were those other kid's parents. Their moms were more liberated, they drank brandy, and the kids would say “There goes motorcycle momma” as she road by on the back of a Harley, with her old man who looked like some sort of troglodyte cave man conquistador. Those poor kids a lot of the time came home to an empty house and found themselves alone again, naturally asking, “Where is the love?”. Radio Reference released version 2.0 of their Database.  This is the first complete overhaul and rewrite of the database in about 10 years. There are many changes when it comes to navigating the new database and once you learn where things are, the new database is much quicker and easier to navigate. [Comment: St Michael the Archangel] Friends of the Rosary, Saint Michael the Archangel, captain of the Heavenly army, started to appear in the fifth century as the protector of Christian kingdoms. In the eight century, Saint Michael appeared in the Aralar mountains of the Kingdom of Navarre, in the north of Spain. The Archangel saved from an Evil Dragon a Christian Crusader who was doing penance tied by heavy chains. In this place, a sanctuary was then built and later six pieces of the Holy Cross were brought here by crusaders. Those pieces would be included as relics in a unique image of Saint Michael – the first one where Saint Michael holds the Cross of Jesus Christ. In the twelfth century, a Romanesque shrine was built in these mountains under the name of “Santuario de San Miguel de Aralar.” A local hero of Navarre, Francis Xavier, would expand the devotion to Saint Michael worldwide. We pray the Rosary today in this special place, while we talk to Fr. Mikel Garciandia, the chaplain in charge of San Miguel. He is sending the Rosary Network a special blessing. Episode 009 - Locked In - Helping Buyers & Sellers During Covid-19 LOCKED IN – Since we're all quarantined and socially distant, we're putting out several short episodes to guide agents. In this episode, we cover how to best serve buyers and sellers.
