— Be a human who can admit he changed his mind. This is what happens to us as human beings: life can suck and our world changes, we choose to change, our situations change. I do not believe God changes. However, what we know of God and our relationship with God can and often does change as we face the pain of caregiving and whatever else piles on. A journal gives us knowledge of both ourselves and God. These can be influential and provide the foundation for future growth as we seek God. Valeria Teles interviews Ken Hagler — the author of “Life Sucks Seek God: 5 soul-healing habits to connect you with God when life seems out of control.” Ken Hagler is an author, pastor, writer, YouTube creator, and Podcaster. He has been in ministry full-time since 1996 serving in various ministry areas. During his ministry, Ken has served churches in Kentucky, Missouri, Georgia, Idaho, and now Alaska. His hope and prayer is to encourage and guide people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and experience faith every day. Ken is the author of Life Sucks Seek God - a book dealing with the issues of grief, suffering and pain and 5 spiritual practices to face difficulties. He is also co-author with his late wife, Heather, on a book of Children's Sermons called “No Prep No Prop.” Ken is currently working on publishing his third book: Prayer - Simply Breathe scheduled to come out later this summer. His education includes a B.S. degree from East Carolina University and M.Div from Asbury Theological Seminary. In this week's episode of the Follower of One podcast, Mike speaks with Ken Powell. Ken is a Financial Planner with Ronald Blue Trust and builds relationships and services based on biblical principles through his work! Please welcome him to the community! Episode Breakdown 1:00 - Meet Ken Powell 1:45 - Ken's Story 4:40 - How Ken got to Seattle 7:50 - Ken's Transition to Financial Advising 14:20 - Ken's Faith in his Work 18:00 - Ken's Thoughts on the Marketplace Mission Trip 21:05 - Mike's Story 24:25 - Connect with Ken 25:05 - Ken's Family God Showing Us The Path Living your faith at work is not always easy and sometimes we don't see God's plan in our lives until we fully give everything to him. Ken talks with Mike about leaving a secure job and moving into a different direction in his life. This takes a good amount of courage and fortitude but God should give you that courage. God needs to be your backbone when you want to make a change in your life that may affect every aspect of your relationships. How has God spoken to you lately in ministering to those around you? Do you see opportunities that previously were not there? Those doors that are now open could be something special just waiting for you to take advantage and it is our job to make sure God is with us when we walk through them! Give it to God and let him take control. Making a Difference with Your Faith In Ken's example, his company directly supports filling the great commission of Christians. The impact we have every day is really to assist in making more Christians. So where does the "work" really begin? For Ken, it is all about helping people understand what they have and where they can be more targeted in their efforts with their money. What about you? Where does your work begin? Is it when you are servicing a client's needs? Is it helping a client understand how they can be better with their business? Do you sell a product that helps your clients do more? These are all aspects of every work we probably see and now is the time to start pondering on where God can be injected to build a better life for yourself and those you serve. If you are wondering how to do this, take the next Marketplace Mission Trip!

We talk about giving customers an experience they didn't know they wanted and making interactions with brands frictionless.

The creator of some of the most transcendent art of our time explores why it is necessary to go beyond the faded postmodern milieu of today’s art world, how psychedelics can play a role in discovering and manifesting one’s deeper realms of being, and how the “two kinds of higher” can impact artists and their work. In the foreword to Alex’s book The Mission of Art, Ken stated: “Alex Grey might be the most significant artist alive.” At first glance, this can appear to be pure hyperbole, expressing the understandable enthusiasm of a long-time friend and colleague. However, with an Integral Approach, Ken explains, “significant” has a specific meaning, and it was this meaning alluded to in the foreword. “Significant” refers to the degree of depth of an occasion (how many levels of complexity does it contain?), and “fundamental” refers to the span or breadth of an occasion (how many of them are there?). Atoms, for example, are extremely fundamental to the universe—and have enormous span (there are zillions of them)—but they are not very significant (containing little complexity). Humans, on the other hand, are not very fundamental to the universe (e.g., there are far fewer of us than there are atoms), but we are uniquely significant (no other thing or organism in the known universe contains more levels of depth and complexity than a human). So, how is Alex Grey possibly the most significant artist alive? Looking at the territory we have covered so far, the answer is actually quite simple and elegant: Alex has explored and to various degrees mastered all five states of consciousness, and has grown to integral and transpersonal levels of development, the current leading edge of consciousness evolution. (In Ken’s book Integral Spirituality, these two axes are likewise called “the two axes of Enlightenment,” and no spiritual realization is complete without both.) Particularly when it comes to the forms of reality disclosed by non-ordinary, meditative, and peak states of consciousness, Alex is unparalleled in his ability to translate what he sees in his “eye of spirit” to a work of art, which then often has the extraordinary ability of evoking similar kinds of states in viewers.
40 Jahre CSD Hamburg! Welcome to Damn Good Brands. Today, as part of our Influence 100 series in partnership with The Holmes Report, we are speaking to Ken Hong, the Head of Global Corporate Communications at LG. Ken has been at LG for over ten years. Throughout the course of that time, he has witnessed and led the company through a number of technological and overall changes in the marketing landscape. Ken currently resides in Korea, but his position has taken him all over the world, giving him a very globalized perspective on consumer technology and the state of communications. We discuss Ken’s philosophy of leadership during comprehensive company evolution, and his overall thoughts on today’s state of communications. Here are some key takeaways from this conversation with Ken Hong: Study psychology and political science or hire those who have. Ken is very vocal about the importance of lesser-mentioned disciplines that better enable communications professionals, specifically political science and psychology. Ken claims that his studies in both of these fields helped him tremendously as a communications leader since they gave him a fundamentally better understanding of humanity, culture, and therefore communications. Think global, stay local. Despite working in five international cities, Ken finds that experience in global comms is in low demand, whereas local expertise in any given market is much more valuable. Ken recommends that comms leaders have a baseline understanding of global communications but remain focused on their local markets, since global expertise is rarely important to local clients. Keep your challenger mindset. Part of Ken’s success comes down to his refusal to rest on his laurels even when LG achieves market leader status in certain categories. In Ken's view, there is no fundamental sense of “having arrived,” considering the speed of change. In an industry like electronics with its diverse array of products, it’s critical to always be cognizant of the brands that aren’t market leaders and keep pushing them forward to remain vigilant. ----- Produced by Simpler Media
So viele spannende Infos! Viel Spaß beim Zuhören! Wir freuen uns immer über Feedback an @podcast@echtemamas.de

Ken Mullinax had always wanted to have his own business but was a bit of a late bloomer. He started going to college full-time while he was working full-time in his late 30’s and got his degree in accounting. His first step was to leave his factory job and become a revenue officer with the IRS. In many ways, working for the IRS was Ken’s best job and where he learned about collections and resolution. [4:45] Ken left the IRS in 2014 to pursue tax resolution work with his wife Sandra. They worked through a national tax resolution company, but eventually that work dried up as the company was sold. It was around that time that Ken saw Michael’s ad for the Tax Resolution Training System. [7:45] Most of the work Ken did at the IRS was with businesses. These experiences gave Ken valuable lessons that he now uses to help his current clients. [11:50] There is no such thing as a hopeless IRS case. There is always something that can be done to help. Most CPA’s don’t know how to handle clients that are non-compliant. [12:50] It doesn’t matter whether you owe the IRS $10,000 or $10 million; all that matters is what you can pay. Most of Ken’s clients pay nothing or very little. There are always ways to get the IRS to take the lowest dollar amount. [14:15] There are 13.2 million people in the US that owe over $300 billion in taxes, and there is more work to go around than any one person can handle. The tax resolution industry is like a brotherhood with people who are more than happy to help each other. [16:20] In Ken’s first year, he made about $90,000. At this point, a slow month is somewhere around $20,000, and Ken anticipates doing $60,000+ each month. [18:55] Referral marketing is one of the biggest strategies that has made a huge difference to Ken’s business. The same CPA’s that Ken used to beat up when working for the IRS are the ones that now refer the majority of Ken’s cases. [22:00] The next biggest lesson is learning what the service is worth. Ken initially doubted they could charge the prices listed in Michael’s course, but he took the leap and started raising their prices. Now they get paid more than they would have ever believed before. These people are in trouble, and they will pay you whatever they have to pay to get out of that trouble. [27:00] Ken hasn’t had to deal with non-payment from clients yet, even once their case is closed. Pretty much everyone has money, and when they’re in a desperate situation, they will figure out a way to find the money and deal with their tax problem. [28:30] The third major lesson is to not fear the marketing spend. You can determine how much you need to spend to land a client, and once you’ve got that number, it’s just a matter of investing the money. Most professionals don’t have a predictable system to generate clients, which is why they rely on hope. The practitioners who know those numbers are the ones who are the most successful and profitable. [31:50] Each marketing channel works in different degrees. Sometimes they work for a while and then start to fade. So you have to change the message. Mailing prospects more than once is crucial. [33:40] Effective hiring and networking are two more pro tips from the growth of Ken’s business. Now that Ken has an established reputation, the value of the networking has increased drastically. [35:55] You need to have mentors in your life that can help you if you’re dabbling in tax resolution. All the resources that Michael provides are extremely valuable and will give you a huge boost in growing your practice. Social media posts have been Ken’s favorite thing he started doing in 2019. [41:00] Ken recently made a funnel that captures names and emails using Clickfunnels and introduced his first video sales letter that has been performing very well. [43:30] The main motivation for leaving the IRS was seeing powers of attorney that couldn’t properly defend their client and knowing that he could do better. That also coincided with a time when the president froze all pay and promotions, which certainly didn’t help. [46:30] When you fix someone’s tax problem, now you’re their hero. You will end up working with that person for all their tax needs. [48:20] If you think you need to know everything there is to know about the technical work of tax resolution before you start marketing for cases, you’ll never start marketing for cases. [50:30] The only people that fail are the ones who thought the program is a get rich quick scheme. It’s not easy, but if you do the work, you will find success. If you’re thinking about making the leap, it’s time to jump in. In Ken’s opinion, this is the best job you can have because not only are you saving people’s financial lives, sometimes you’re saving their lives in general.
