The dynamic duo of Robbie Landis and Ben Morse is back once again for another episode of the Other Identity. The Other Identity is a podcast about exploring the culture created by comic books. This week Robbie and Ben are joined by Kali Sloan to talk about LGBTQ+ representation in comics for Pride Month. Robbie and Ben start the show as they always do, talking about what they've been reading lately. While Ben keeps up #InBlackestNight and the #DCRebirthEra Challenge, Robbie takes a break to dive into Marvel. He talks a bit about his impressions of Infinity Countdown and Infinity Wars. Plus, he's been reading a lot more Kelly Thompson, specifically her run with Jessica Jones. Pride in Comics Former co-host and Other Identity Alumni Kali Sloan joins Robbie and Ben to celebrate Pride Month. They talk about Bobby Drake, aka Iceman, one of the original X-Men and his evolution as a character. Iceman is one of the biggest and most well-known X-Men and years came out as Gay in the comics. Ben being a huge Iceman fan, talks about how natural and right it felt for the character. They also discuss Batwoman and some of the problematic issues DC has had with the character in the past. Kali explains the importance of proper representation in comics. Kali also talks about her own experiences with comics growing up, and shares her story of learning she's transgender. She talks about the importance of representation in comic books and how having a trans character to look to could have made a big difference in her life. The group also discusses when we'll see a strong transgender character in comics, and discusses whether it should be Marvel or DC to attempt it.

Also viel Spaß! Einer der Comics dieser Folge hat euch so begeistert, dass ihr ihn haben wollt? Nutzt doch diesen Ref-Link dafür. Without any memories, or even a clue as to where she could be, she wanders the building, lost and dizzy. In her search, she comes across a man covered in bandages. He introduces himself as Zack and he wields a grim-reaper like sickle. [★★★ - Above Average] - 21:52 - Sword Gai: The Animation II continues the story of Gai Ogata, a swordsmith's apprentice who loses his right arm and has it replaced with a prosthetic from a demonic sword. This story focuses on “Shoshidai,” an organization that has been facing “Busoma” for a long period and “Gai,” a young man who is fated to live as a weapon. When a man who possesses such a weapon within himself is swallowed by hatred and fosters murderous intent turns into a Busoma, he becomes a creature that only seeks to slaughter… [★★★★ - Very Good] GARTHON'S COMIC PULL: - 41:36 - X-Men Gold #33 - Storm returns to the Kenyan village that once worshipped her as a goddess! In this issue, Arya regales us with the tale of 12 Angry Men, Batman style. Andrew realizes that the "biggest cash grab" in comics (Infinity Countdown) might actually turn into a good event, and Link tells us why we should come back around on Avengers. Magic order may have "missed the mark" according to reviewers, but the sales numbers and our review say otherwise. Stick in till the end to hear us debate who the best leader in comics is for our ideal 5 man squad.

The Batrimony is real as Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle are set to tie the knot in a can't-miss, extra-length milestone issue that will reshape Gotham City. All their friends (and a few enemies?) will be party to a comic book coupling for the ages. Superstar scribe Tom King officiates the sure-to-be-offbeat nuptials, joined by an all-star lineup of guest classic Bat-artists doffing their hats to the lucky couple in a series of pre-wedding flashback scenes sure to set the romantic mood. Catwoman #1 The wedding night's barely over, but Catwoman's back on the streets, this time to expose a copycat who's pulling heists around Gotham City. As Selina cracks the whip on her former criminal cohorts, she's attracting unwanted attention from one of Gotham's most dangerous groups. The mob? Nope. Try the GCPD. And as if the Bat-Bride didn't have enough problems, don't miss the debut of an all-new villain determined to make trouble for all nine of Selina's lives. Captain America #1 (24 different covers) IT IS WINTER IN AMERICA. For over 70 years, he has stood in stalwart defense of our country and its people. But in the aftermath of Hydra's takeover of the nation, Captain America is a figure of controversy, carrying a tarnished shield…and a new enemy is rising! Who are the Power Elite? And how do they intend to co-opt and corrupt the symbol that is Captain America? Cosmic Ghost Rider #1 Frank Castle was the Punisher. A deal with the devil made him Ghost Rider.
