Archbishop Naumann dialogues with Kathy White, the new Coordinator of Foster and Pro-Life Ministry Every child is a precious, unique gift from God who deserves a loving family and a stable home life. Sadly, each day in Kansas, children are removed from their homes by no fault of their own for a variety of reasons. Because care of the orphan and the works of mercy are part of the mission for all baptized Catholics, we have the grace needed to meet this challenge. If only 2% of Catholics opened their homes to foster for even a short period of time and 5% volunteered in some way to help these kids and their families, we can help these children and the families who care for them THRIVE! In this episode, Kathy shared her tragedy of losing a child at birth and how she overcame her grief with the help of yoga. When Kathy was in her 30's, she gave birth to a child; unfortunately, he died. This life-changing tragedy leaves Kathy's life in the dark as she grieves her child's loss. But just a few months later, the light shines again as Kathy's friend invites her to a yoga class, which begins her journey to the discovery of healing and growth.Kathy talks to Dr brad about how important for you to trust your friends, especially in times of your adversity, because friends can give you the guidance to bounce back and continue your life.Furthermore, Kathy tells Dr Brad the problem nowadays is that people view fitness movements as hard, aggressive, or extreme, which causes ordinary people to be hesitant to try fitness. But in reality, just a 10 to 20-minute walk daily is enough to keep that sense of movement in their body. And doing so will have a huge impact on our longevity or our future.Kathy White's story proves that one can be brought down in the face of grief. But remember that it is not the end of your life. Trust your friends and just keep moving–don't stop. And indeed, you can overcome the feeling of grief.Episode 275 of The Beyond Adversity Podcast is a must-listen for any mother or parents that is drowning in grief and are searching for an inspirational story of a woman losing a child at birth, suffering from grief, but eventually getting back in life and moving forward.“The Beyond Adversity Podcast with Dr. Brad Miller is published weekly with the mission of helping people “Grow Through What They Go Through” as they navigate adversity and discover their promised life of peace, prosperity and purpose. https://www.kathywhiteyoga.com/| Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kathy-white-yoga/
If you have beliefs about yoga that it is just not for you because you are either not flexible enough or fit enough, think again. The practice of yoga has taken on a mystical allure that can turn some people off from taking up this practice in the first place (myself included). The belief, according to social media, of being young fit, and strong has certainly not helped. Yet, yoga can play a vital role in our health, particularly as we get older. The right kind of yoga can help ease menopause symptoms, heal trauma, and help you relax in a way that nothing else can. I had a very important conversation with Yoga Instructor Kathy White, who practices a very specific type of yoga aimed at empowering women and men to be more forgiving and gentle with their bodies, while at the same time getting stronger. In this episode I am in conversation with yoga teacher Kathy White. Her wide ranging knowledge of so many different modalities of yoga (and, trust me, there are many!) has given her a wonderful perspective and a loving approach to teaching. We both agree that the perception of yoga can sometimes be intimidating to those who need yoga the most and her Joint Renewal System is a way of introducing the benefits of yoga to people who have joint issues, pain and resistance to trying yoga. We discuss how we age with yoga, the ups and downs of the ageing process, how peri menopause and menopause can alter our bodies and how to create a new way of working with our yoga to benefit our mind, body and spirit. To contact Kathy you can find her at her website kathywhiteyoga.com where there are free resources and lots of really useful information. Her approach gives hope and inspires, so that we can carry on doing the things in life that we want to, unhindered by joint pain and stiffness. I hope you enjoy!Much loveRosanne xx Hosted on Acast. According to my guest, Kathy White, Yoga not just another physical activity like Pilates or going to the gym. And it's not just for the flexible, young, and fit among us. If you've tried traditional yoga practices like hatha, hot, or vinyasa but felt the poses were too strenuous or complex, stay with us. Kathy calls her unique blend of yoga styles, a joint renewal system and her goal is to help women rediscover flexibility and relief from joint pain. Why so much pain as we age anyway? “By the time we reach our fifties and beyond have compensatory patterns to avoid pain. Part of our recovery process from a lifetime of large or small injuries is that we compensate. We never really discover the source of our pain because docs and physios will treat what we tell them hurts. In the practice I teach, and the joint renewal is we treat every joint, we get you into your joints into your body, and who knows what that knee is gonna say to the hip, you know, it's like knee bone connected to the thigh bone. It's all connected and as you move one piece, the others all realign.”What I love about Kathy's yoga is that she's democratizing it. “This is yoga for people who hate yoga. I've had people say, Is that yoga that we just did? Because what we are basically doing in the practice is, Breaking the postures, those very complicated postures that you see on the Instagram feeds and yoga books is we're breaking those down to the component pieces because most people, especially as we age don't have the agility, strength, or level of suppleness in their joints to be able to achieve.”We talked about “comfort culture” which is a good thing—every aspect of life has been made more comfortable. Beds, cars with cameras so you don't have to turn around, couches, etc. and how this contributes to pain. Also, the importance of moving every joint and muscle. Our routines include the kinds of movement we get, what exercise we do (or don't do). If we sit at a desk then get on a stationary bike chances are we are not moving our upper body, feet or ankles. When was the last time you worked your hands outside of typing and cooking? Every joint needs a gentle workout every day. https://www.kathywhiteyoga.com/home (Kathy's website is here) and this is where you can sign up for her Joint Renewal Guide. This week, Chris interviews Daniel Parker, Kathy White, and Stacy Duffy, individuals behind the creation of Assistive Technology Forward, a group that created a statewide “community of practice” to support Wisconsin assistive technology. These modules can be completed in a few hours and many can be taken by parents, administrators, and others who are not as familiar with assistive technology. Chris chats with Daniel, Kathy, and Stacy about Assistive Technology Forward, how they came to create microcredentials, some of the benefits of microcredentials, and a discussion of the virtual “community of practice” that ATF has created for assistive technology! Before the interview, Rachel shares some thoughts about an upcoming assessment report that she has been asked to write. Chris and Rachel discuss preparing for a student who has aggressive behaviors, dealing with the pressure to have standardized assessments as part of a report, and some of the questions that Rachels asks when she begins an AAC assessment. Get rid of the idea of needing to do the extreme poses and focus on the foundations to give your body the gift of joint renewal. About the Guest: Kathy White currently lives on Vancouver Island, born in the UK she moved to Canada in 2018. She has one adult child and another in high school. She's been teaching yoga since 2000. Kathy White found yoga in her 20s, and there's been no looking back. Kathy shares a lot of info in this episode… as well as sharing how her yoga practice was vital to so many parts of her life. And then she turned 50. Yoga became difficult at a time when life changes were on the horizon. A trip abroad led Kathy back to yoga with, as she says, “wild abandon”! Which led to the series of events that resulted in Kathy creating her Joint Renewal System™ - designed specifically for us over-50 types! If you or someone you know is a) getting older or b) experiencing joint discomfort, you'll want to listen to Kathy. An aside: prepare to laugh as Kathy and Agnes share more than a few chuckles! Oh, and don't let Kathy hear you say you can't do yoga because you're not flexible! She'll tell you it isn't about flexibility, it's about healthy joints. Kathy mentions the Scaravelli book: https://www.amazon.ca/Awakening-Spine-Health-Vitality-Energy/dp/0062428462 Learn more about Kathy at: https://www.kathywhiteyoga.com Get on the waitlist for her 7Cs Challenge at https://www.kathywhiteyoga.com/7c

In menopause, we can face pain, stiffness, restrictions and limitations in our body as our hormones fluctuate and decline. EPISODE 18 - In this episode we hang on tight with our thrill seeking, cliff hugging, helicopter rescued, shark swimming guest Kathy White and discuss her book tackling anxiety, depression and how hurt people, hurt people. Unleash The Warrior WithinHave you ever been to that place where you don't know if you care anymore; care about life, care about living? I was broken for years. I didn't know how to love myself. I was a people pleaser and as a result , I often took on too much and caused anxiety in my life. I gave others the responsibility of making me happy. I had the patience of an angered wasp. I put everyone else's needs in front of my own and took no time for myself.I was successful by other people's definition of success, based on what they saw as their version of me, but, I was empty inside I didn't know how to change. I read books, went to counseling and seminars, but nothing seemed to help me.I thought this was my lot in life. Depression and anxiety run in my family. I used to come home from school to find my mom on the couch sleeping for hours. I thought it was a normal part of life. I knew no different. One day I was driving home from work and thought to myself – Is this all that life is? Wake up. Drive to work. Work. Drive Home. Make Dinner. Go to Bed. Repeat. I felt like a robot. I thought to myself that there had to be more in life than this.I learned to put a shell around my heart and not let people close to me throughout my life. If they don't get close to me, then I can't get hurt. Sound familiar? As I gradually progress through my journey of self-discovery, the shell is breaking into pieces. I know for that reader that is going through a dark time, some of the things I advise doing are not easy. Start small. There are questions and exercises at the end of this book for you to ask yourself and do for yourself. Some will be harder than others and some questions you just might not feel worthy to answer right now. Let me tell you this -- You are loved. You deserve to be happy. You are worthy to attain the life you want. Use this book to help you heal and gain the joy in your life. Purpose by Design welcomes my friend and best-selling author Kathy White who holds many titles. She is a funologist, a mindset mentor, an author, and owns a virtual reality company. She lives in Utah and loves to go snowshoeing and hiking the Utah mountains. She talks about living at a Happiness-level Frequency which naturally brings more abundance into your life. It is important to find our lost voice and bring it to the surface. She explains when you are having trouble going through stuff how wrong it is to feel like you cannot go to counseling due to outside pressure or opinions. Her former husband had some personal issues that led to him attempting to take his life. She explains how draining it was when she would have to drag him up to a good frequency where he was ok to be her husband and her kids' dad. This was the beginning of falling out of love with him. A couple years later - she filed for divorce as enough was enough. She met her now husband Jeff a bit later and is so incredibly happy. She talks about how God wants us to be happy and how life is not supposed to just be okay. He wants to prosper us. She talked about how she stayed in a marriage for so long due to believing that God was going to be so angry at her for separating from an emotionally abusive relationship as well as her mother who stayed in a suffering marriage for so long. She found out that Mike got the counseling he needed after she left him, as she found she was enabling his toxic dependency on her. Essentially and very probably - their divorce may have saved Mike's life. Kathy talks about her part in Women of the Power Voice which catapulted her into a new life that she did not know was possible. She is so excited to share her story with you and the world. Pamela Henkel and Yashica Mack first became acquainted while participating in Les Brown's Power Voice System training program and Jon Talarico's Thinking Into Results coaching program. During an interview, Pamela revealed to Yashica that she had a vision of a book that would change the world. Pamela stated that this book was placed in her heart, but she had not yet acted upon it. Yashica was intrigued and inspired by Pamela's vision, and so it began; these two visionary authors were called to collaborate and create an anthology that would ultimately bring together more than 35 women to share their stories and offer hope. Mid-terms and final exams are a central component of higher education and are also often given at the secondary education level. These types of assessments are typically a significant portion of a course grade and include extensive amounts of study material. The weight and volume of such exams typically produce anxiety in students. Given the emotional and mental toll involved, what is the point of mid-terms and finals? How can students (and parents) navigate this process well? Veteran high school math teacher Kathy White shares her thoughts on the purpose and process of mid-terms and finals and offers practical advice on how parents can help students be successful. Kathy White is the Deputy Director of The Salvador Dalí Museum. Peter Tush is the Curator of Education. They met and married at the Dalí and have seen the museum from its early days to its glorious signature home on downtown St. Pete’s waterfront. You might think that a museum focused on a single artist would only be worth one visit. But the Dalí’s ever-changing offerings range from paintings to sculpture, fashion, photography, mathematics and filmmaking. Along with an array of film, theatre, music, dance, workshops and wide-ranging conversations, The Dalí is not just a destination for international visitors, but a compelling reason for repeat visits by Bay area residents. Kathy and Peter share the imaginative work behind the scenes at the Dalí, the importance of the volunteer docents and audio tours that invite visitors to deeply explore the exhibits, and the museum’s constant outreach to the local arts community, to local artists and to young creatives.
