If you find the you can't go more than one or two days without feeling that you need to shampoo your hair because it's  limp or greasy, then this episode is for you! I will explain how to ACTUALLY shampoo your hair, (and yes it's a thing)- Why? It's all about SAVING YOU TIME. If you don't have proper washing technique and are not effectively removing oil and product buildup from your hair, then it will feel greasy and limp and you will have to wash more often!   This episode builds upon Ep. 11, which is about how to use dry shampoo, (if you haven't listened to that one, stop this one and start there first) and the techniques I talk about here will complement what you learn in episode 11. You'd be surprised how many people shampoo their hair incorrectly! I will tell you-  How much shampoo to use, how NOT to lather before actually getting your shampoo blob into your roots, why you want to avoid washing your ends, and what kind of shampoo to look for (forget the drugstore!) The truth is that simple washing and lathering technique will go a long way in making sure your hair stays fresher much longer -and these techniques when followed correctly, will get you at least 2-3 days more between washes than what you are currently getting! I hope this episode helps you and frees you up a lot more time between shampoo and style days! Love,  Jennifer Links to some of my favorite shampoos- Remember - Lather up TWICE - You can probably get away with less shampoo for the second wash as 75% of all the greasy oiliness will be gone, but you need to shampoo up TWICE   These two are great if you have fine to medium hair-  L'Oréal Metal Detox https://amzn.to/48L1zJ0   L'Oréal Pro Longer https://amzn.to/3Hi7Ujx   This one says “cream: but it is great for getting out the grease without stripping your hair- If you buy it, use it ONCE as a first wash, then proceed with the other recommended shampoos   Redken Cleansing Cream Shampoo   https://amzn.to/3HjBeG9   My extensive all time fave Hair Care Products   https://amzn.to/3HEEEnj   Love the show? Cheryl Thompson, a professor at Toronto Metropolitan University and author of "Beauty in a Box: Detangling the Roots of Canada's Black Beauty Culture," joins Vinita to untangle the complicated history Black women like herself have with hair relaxants - and where these lawsuits might lead.

Ryan Margolin is the CEO of Professional Hair Labs, he set out on his journey to help create a world leading cosmetic product when his mother was poisoned by the harmful chemicals and adhesive products commonly used in industry Ryan was inspired to keep the same thing from happening to anybody else. This week on Build Value By Choice we talk about how the CEO of a major healthcare products company was able to scale up its business.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Ryan dove into the research and created the first care product free of harmful substances. Now, nearly 20 years later, Ryan is an international business leader and an entrepreneur who works in more than 15 different countries. There he helps create sustainable services and products and industries full of subpar and even harmful options. With his expertise, he's been able to form his strategies for success in multiple different industries. As well as dedication to people first. He has expanded his business tenfold and grown to become one of the 500 fastest growing companies in the US over the last five years, and has sold more than 50 million in product globally. The company started in the nonsurgical hair replacement niche supplying a solution to individuals who suffered from hair loss, whether it be through hereditary means or health issues, such as cancer and they were going through chemotherapy. Over the years they have developed not only their own product line further but have been able to expand their cosmetic offerings to a wider range of different categories such as body care and skin care. There's always somebody that has learned from the growth pattern that you're on, and they have the information you need. Ryan has a board which is involved with multiple people as well as operational consultants, digital consultants and a good solid advisory team that are helping navigate the waters in times where there is uncertainty. When it comes to scaling, every month Harry would look at their profitability and choose to just reinvest some of that back into what the company needed. Some months you're going to have a higher revenue than others, but in those months where you have the higher revenue, you just put a bit more away and then that starts to compound and that allows you to do the bigger things.   BEST MOMENTS   ‘We undertake this journey because number one, we want to protect the future growth of the business' ‘So what do you do? Do you let your ego override your ability to be a smarter individual?' ‘First, be willing to learn and then go find the people that can help you'   EPISODE RESOURCES Free Business Goals Quiz Productize ebook https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryanmargolin/ https://prohairlabs.com/   VALUABLE RESOURCES   Leave your comments on the show's facebook community page: https://www.facebook.com/Buildvaluebychoice Get your free valuation here: https://bit.ly/get-free-valuation Podcast website: https://infhorizons.com/podcast/ Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and share it.   PODCAST DESCRIPTION   Hosted by Nana Bonsu of Infinite Horizons, this show aims to serve small business owners who want to grow their businesses...

About Jacqueline Jones and Crystal Eikcaj Skin & Hair Care Products: Jacqueline Jones, or Jackie (eikcaJ), is the fourth of nine siblings. She grew up extremely poor in the lower eastside of Detroit known as “Black Bottom.” She and her siblings were bullied by kids and adults because they did not have nice clothing and lived in a run-down home. Jackie's dad worked in the foundry inhaling black dust all day long. Her mother stayed home and raised the children. After paying the bills to keep a roof over their heads, there was very little left over for food. Many days Jackie and her siblings went to bed hungry. Jackie was educated in the Detroit public school system. After graduation, she was determined not to let her past define her future. Jackie pursued her education while working full-time and obtained an associate's degree, bachelor's degree, and master's degree. She was the first sibling in her family to achieve this success. Jackie has always been determined to be an entrepreneur. Over the years, she has had several successful businesses. In 1997, Jackie was diagnosed with many health issues and most recently diabetes in 2012. The symptoms associated with her illnesses resulted in hair loss, extremely dry skin, arthritis, etc. Initially, Jackie tried using prescription and over-the-counter medications to address these symptoms. However, these medications caused side effects and rarely produced any substantial results. Instead of complaining, Jackie decided to find solutions to her health challenges. Out of necessity, she experimented with organic shea butters, essential and natural oils to grow her hair and gain relief from extremely dry feet, hands, and body. The results that she achieved were outstanding. Her hair began to grow back and the moisture in her skin was restored without any harmful side effects. Jackie soon realized that she could help others without using harmful chemicals. To accomplish this, she created "Crystal Eikcaj™ Skin and Hair Care, LLC, (CESCH). Today Crystal Eikcaj™ enjoys customers of all ages, genders, ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds. Crystal Eikcaj™ features skin and hair care organic products that can be used by anyone who desires to moisturize their skin (i.e. face, hands, body, and feet) and pamper their hair with organic products. Jackie continues to create new products and her motto is "Good products are created based on the people that they are for.”

How we feel about our hair has enormous power over how we feel about ourselves. #preach Our hair thins for various reasons throughout our lives, but menopause can trigger it big time. I wanted answers to questions like:             What can we do to break the cycle?             Is coloring our hair really all that bad for us?             How do we nourish what we've got so it looks fabulous? My guest, Natalie Palamino, answered those questions and more. Natalie is a Master Stylist, Clean Hair Care Expert and Founder of North Authentic, a conscious hair care company. She used her B.S. in Finance, JD/MA, and 12 years behind the chair as a hairstylist, hair salon owner and educator focused on clean products to start her company, North Authentic. Why start an online company when life as a stylist is good? She was diagnosed with Hashimotos and witnessed numerous clients and friends also diagnosed with similar thyroid/endocrine issues. So she had to find out what these cases had in common.  Her investigation pointed her to the thousands of toxic chemicals in household and beauty products.  As a hair care expert who knew first- hand how many chemicals there are in hair care products—and how little attention was paid to this situation-- she founded North Authentic, a conscious hair care-focused retailer that not only vets every product against their Barred Ingredient list, but also tests them for performance.  Natalie's belief is that “just because it's clean, doesn't mean it works.” Who knew that our scalp absorbs more of what we put on it than the skin on our arms? And maybe it's just me but why then don't we look for clean products to clean our heads (Hair) with? Ok, most of you may already be doing that. I thought I was until I saw https://shopnorthauthentic.com/pages/hair-crimes-list (Natalie's Hair Crimes list.) The list is comprised of the dirty nasty chemicals that can be found in even those products that market themselves as “clean.” More enlightenment came in the form of our discussing what kinds of products one should have in their arsenal. I'm not the 9 products for my face kind of gal so I likely won't do that for my mane, but some things make sense. Like a scalp mask or treatment to unclog pores and nourish the bed of follicles from which said hair sprouts. I mask my face so why not my head? In order to help us aging babes know what products would be best for our hair type and concerns, Natalie created a quiz. (There isn't a direct link to it but head to https://shopnorthauthentic.com/ (the home page,) at the top of the header, under the address bar you'll find a “Take Quiz” link.) Just so you don't think she recommends brands who pay her to do so… Natalie and North Authentic are not committed to any one brand. They are committed to their clients. The Quiz recommends a hair care regimen made up of products spanning across its 14+ hair care brands based on what each client needs.  Anything we didn't cover during our convo https://shopnorthauthentic.com/blogs/on-the-blog (you can probably find at the blog.)
