Lewis Johnson is looking for A.I. opportunities in infrastructure and power companies. “The grid was built 100 years ago,” he reminds us, and needs a lot of work. However, he says it'll take years and billions of dollars to see the nuclear energy industry reinvigorate. He thinks the old order of globalization is “over" and we'll see billions invested in domestic industries. He also likes gold as these changes begin. ======== Schwab Network ======== Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. Isaiah 12:24-18:7; Luke 21:20-28 Introduction Our passage today is a difficult one (& large) My guess is you've probably never heard an exposition on Isaiah 15-20 After today, you still won't I am thankful to hear one of my favorite Bible expositors, S. Lewis Johnson, even confess that he is puzzled…
Bill Walton would often state that he was the luckiest man in the world. Every time he would say that with his infectious energy I'd smile, and I bet you would too. He looked at life through an incredible lens and one that was optimistic and oftentimes inspiring.Heading into my 16th year of putting a headset on as a broadcaster, I too feel like Bill often did. Over the course of time, I've stood next to Steve Physioc, Kevin Calabro and for the better part of the last decade, Ted Robinson. How lucky have I been to have been given a PhD by those three in the school of broadcasting!? Let alone having Lewis Johnson, Samantha Ponder, Jill Savage, Cindy Brunson, Ashley Adamson and more on the sideline. It's been an absolute joy and it's an understatement to share how each of those gifted professionals have impacted millions of sports fans, and myself. This week brings a new season with a new crew, a new logo, and a new network. I'll be in a familiar setting - overlooking Autzen Stadium in prime time on Saturday night and next to me will be a guy I've known for the last 12 years, Guy Haberman. What's so special about Guy is that he truly loves sports broadcasting, having recorded himself calling games as a child. On Saturday night, he will also be living a dream, perched a few hundred feet above a majestic field amid a standing-room-only crowd. Additionally, Guy is a selfless friend, loving husband and extremely talented broadcaster. While the viewer usually only see's the TV crew on air, what makes a unit special is the time off the airwaves. Guy and I have called a few games together in our careers and we've made Week 1 games our speciality in places like Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City and others. But the best part has always been the week leading up to it – the countless calls, the meals while driving to and from the stadium and even the final stop at a FedEx to print out our materials. It's a dream, all of it. And this fall I'm so thankful to have Guy as the next guy I get to learn from and celebrate the game with.In advance of our first game together on the Big Ten Network I had to have him on the Y-Option podcast, presented by our founding partner 76, to learn about his origin story and how he explores the craft of play-by-play.Hope you enjoy our conversation as Guy, Rhett Lewis and myself are so looking forward to bringing you college football this fall.Enjoy Week 1 and what should be another magical ride alongside the sport we all love. For more insights around college football through the lens of the West Coast, go to y-option.comThis episode was executive produced by Jim Thornby and edited by Victor Ren.This podcast is a Best Coast Media production. Steve grew up in an academic home, with a father who was a distinguished Ph.D. scientist and professor. Yet Steve wanted no part of it. He not only didn't like to study, but he sought his identity in sports—playing football, basketball, baseball, and running track. Steve's prowess as an athlete landed him a football scholarship to Texas Tech. Before leaving for college, however, Steve converted to Christ, and sports was no longer his idol. Once at Texas Tech, Steve took an active role in his school's chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes—then the largest in the country—speaking 2-3 times a week at various events and churches. After college, Steve briefly worked for First National Bank in Memphis. But when he heard the preaching of Adrian Rogers, his heart was stirred for the ministry, and he quit his bank job and pursued a Master of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary, learning under the late S. Lewis Johnson. Steve has since pastored churches in Arkansas, Alabama, and Texas. He currently serves as the president of OnePassion Ministries, which is dedicated to training men to faithfully exposit the Scriptures, verse-by-verse, with a passion for God and His glory.

Angels figure prominently in the NT. People don't really know this, or they overlook angels in the created order. At the other end of the scale, some are so preoccupied with angels they nearly fall into angel worship. With Christmas coming up, we will be singing about angels. “Angels We Have Heard on High,” and “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” and “It Came Upon A Midnight Clear” come to mind. Once you start studying angels, you realize how frequently they are mentioned in the New Testament. And as for the nativity story, they figure prominently, making many appearances! RESOURCES RC Sproul: Angels Part 1 RC Sproul: Angels part 2 Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones also has a series on angels, here S. Lewis Johnson preached about angels from Hebrews 1:4-6, Angels Worship the Son! John MacArthur preached "Angels- God's Invisible Army"

My good friend and fishing buddy Lewis Johnson of Capitol Wealth Advisors is back on Panic with Friends for a fourth round, slowly catching up to our leader, Ben Hunt. Way back when Lewis was first on the show rates were zero going to negative. When he was last here in November of 2022, we touched on the Madoff Moment that was FTX, and talked about how to position ourselves moving into 2023. Lewis understands cycles. As we head into the summer with gold breaking out into all-time highs, I wanted to catch up with Lewis to discuss this potential breakout and how to play this cyclical trade. CureCast co-host Jason Stoffer was injured 5 and ½ years ago. Earlier this year, his friend Lewis Johnson sustained a spinal cord injury. The similarities are uncanny: they were both in the same career field; they both went to the same inpatient hospital; and they both attended the same inpatient rehab facility. For Jason, the big question on the table is this: What has changed in 5 years? What progress are we making? Are newly injured folks getting the same message I got from my clinicians? We asked today's guests to give us some high level answers to those questions. Dr. Shekar Kurpad is Professor and Chair of Neurosurgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Candy Tefertiller is the Executive Director of Research and Evaluation at Craig Hospital in Denver. Creator of Folded Map Project and proud Englewood resident Tonika Lewis Johnson is dedicated to telling the story of the diverse city she was raised in, metaphorically “folding the map” of Chicago by connecting residents on different sides of the city. As a photojournalist, she is inspired by the beautiful scenery of the Chicago landscape — specifically in Englewood, the neighborhood she calls home. She hopes to use Folded Map Project and her “social justice art” to educate the public and promote conversations about institutionalized racism in the city. This is what her Chicago sounds like. This segment of “This Is What Chicago Sounds Like” was produced by Ari Mejia. To learn more about Tonika Lewis Johnson, follow her on Instagram @tonikaj or visit her website www.tonijphotography.com.
AVENGER OF THE AFFLICTED “Once again I looked and this time I saw four horns. So I asked the angelic messenger who spoke with me, “What are these?” He replied, “These are the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.” Next the Lord showed me four blacksmiths. I asked, “What are these going to do?” He answered, “These horns are the ones that have scattered Judah so that there is no one to be seen. But the blacksmiths have come to terrify Judah's enemies and cut off the horns of the nations that have thrust themselves against the land of Judah in order to scatter its people.”” Zechariah 1:18-21 NET Excerpt from a Transcript by Dr. S. Lewis Johnson, Jr. who led the congregation of Believer's Chapel in Dallas, TX. The continuance Jewish national survival is just as astounding if not more so. In fact, men who have studied the history of the nation of Israel have continually been astounded by the fact that they are still with us today. For example, the German philosopher, Hegel, once said with reference to the Jews, “It is a dark troublesome enigma to me I am not able to understand it. It does not fit any of our categories; it is a riddle”. Nicholas Berdyaev, the Russian philosopher commented upon the Jewish national survival by saying, “I remember how the materialist interpretation of history when I attempted in my youth to verify it by applying it to the destinies of peoples, broke down in the case of the Jews where destiny seemed absolutely inexplicable from the materialist view point. And indeed according to the materialist and positivistic criterion this people aught long ago to have perished. Its survival is a mysterious and wonder phenomenon demonstrating that the life of this people is governed by special predetermination, transcending the process of adaptation expounded by the materialistic interpretation of history. The survival of the Jews, their resistance to destruction, their endurance under absolutely peculiar conditions and the faithful role-played by them in history. All these point to the particular and mysterious foundations of their destiny”. Now, the philosophers Berdyaev and Hegel are merely echoing in terms, which academicians would understand, the facts that the Bible has set for us many hundreds of years. For example, in the fifty-fourth chapter of the prophecy of Isaiah, the ninth and tenth verses, there is a definite reference to the national survival of the Nation Israel. Will you notice the fifty-fourth chapter of the book of Isaiah the ninth and tenth verses, the prophet writes: “For this is like the waters of Noah unto me, for as I have sworn the waters of Noah shall no more go over the earth so have I sworn that I will not be angry with thee nor rebuke thee. For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, smith the Lord who has mercy on thee.” In other words, the mountains may go and the hills may go but Israel shall not go. And Israel shall not go unless the mountains and hills go. In other words, the national survival of Israel is nothing more than the fulfillment of the prophecy of the word of God. Now, Hegel is astonished by this because he is astonished by the word of God, Berdyaev is astonished by this because he too is astonished essentially by the word of God which has prophesied Jewish national survival. Now, not only has the Bible stated that Jewish national survival is to be expected it has also gone on to say that Jewish national survival is one of the clues to world peace.

My fishing buddy, Lewis Johnson, is back for his third round of Panic. As I've been saying frequently now, I'm just having friends on the podcast. People who have seen things that interest me, not famous – or infamous – people, for the sake of their fame. While Lewis isn't particularly famous, he's a steady hand and understands diversification and how cycles work. We touch on the “Bernie Madoff” moment that is now FTX. Lewis isn't really active in crypto, but has been watching it play out. Swindles go on all along, and in a bull market no one seems to care. A bear market is the usual catalyst for these frauds. People start wanting their money back. We'll check back with Lewis in three to six months, because this show is still about how we position ourselves; and he's got a vision of how the world might look moving forward. I'm excited to have my fishing buddy, Lewis Johnson, back for another round of Panic. He runs a couple billion dollars as the CIO of Capital Wealth Advisors. Lewis was first on in November of 2020 when we realized we might not die from COVID and the Fed was printing money and we were in market Nirvana. Back then we talked value and growth and commodities because Lewis understands cycles. He'd seen the worst stretch of value stocks versus growth stocks in the last 200 years. In this episode we talk cycles and supply chains and commodities and a strong dollar and valuation and the deglobalization cycle we find ourselves in now. What Lewis has is expertise, which is why I enjoy talking to investors like him at different points in time to expand my knowledge.
