In Hour 1… (1:45) Mike Golic Sr. started off the show with his head spinning after a trip to the nail salon with his wife yesterday. Senior, who does not frequent the nail salon, needed to bring his wife cash, and upon entering the building had to learn to navigate the maze that is women's cosmetology. (9:21) After the nail salon fallout, the guys get into the newest Offensive Coordinator for the World Champion Philadelphia Eagles, as the team promoted Passing Game Coordinator Kevin Patullo to the role previously filled by now-Saints HC Kellen Moore. They discuss what they're expecting from Patullo, if he can fill the shoes left by Moore, and how Jalen Hurts will respond to his fifth offensive coordinator in six NFL Seasons.  (13:52) The Conversation then shifted to the current landscape of the NFC, following Dak Prescott's comments saying the Cowboys are “close” to contending. The guys analyze some teams that are ready to make the jump to the next level next season, and how some new head coaches will impact their respective franchises. (19:21) The NFL announced that it would be raising its Salary Cap between $277.5 million and $281.5 million ahead of the 2025 regular season, meaning it will have increased by over $50m over the past two seasons. The guys get into the benefits it could bring to the league, particularly its big-name star talent. (22:11) The conversation continued into the bulk of WR talent on the free agent market, as well as the trade market this offseason. With big names on the move, such as Deebo Samuel, Tee Higgins, Cooper Kupp and Keenan Allen among others, how will the new cap number impact where these big names will end up?  (34:20) The NBA returned on Wednesday night with one matchup, where the New Orleans Hornets stunned Lebron, Luka and the Lakers 100-97. The guys lightly touch on Luka's struggles since joining the Lakers, and then discuss the biggest contenders in the association heading into the second half.  (41:20) A clip resurfaced during the “Court of Gold” Netflix documentary, which led discourse online to re-discuss the current face of the NBA. Anthony Edwards has stated he does not want to be the face of basketball, and the guys begin to discuss who currently holds the crown, or is in line to take the crown over the next few seasons.  (49:15) Light discourse regarding Missouri Basketball HC Dennis Gates imploring students at the University not to rush the court as the fine will cost them future money towards their NIL fund.  Click here to subscribe, rate, and review the newest episodes of GoJo and Golic! When Damian Lillard had his 71-point game, it wasn't just a new Portland Trail Blazers record, it was also a record for the most points scored against the Houston Rockets. We know the record for scoring against the Knicks is Wilt Chamberlain with 100 points back on March 2, 1962 (see yesterday's episode)… so, how about the rest of the NBA?Lillard broke a record previously held by Allen Iverson, who scored 58 against Houston in 2002. The biggest question in this group of teams is the return of Zion Williamson. What type of Zion will we see post injury? He is one player that burned a lot of managers who took a gamble on him last season. Is he worth another shot? Where do we pick him? The Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns are pretty much on a status quo. But that could mean some players here are being overlooked and can possibly be drafted on good value. For the New York Knicks, can Julius Randle regain the fantasy upside he showed a couple of years ago? Catch us in any of these podcast platforms! Roger Mason Jr. has always been ahead of his time. As a professional basketball player, he spent time with seven different NBA franchises, most notably the Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards, San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Hornets. Similar to the way NBA players switch teams frequently today, Mason Jr. bet on himself through short-term deals that maximized his earnings, including stints in Greece and Israel after his rookie deal expired. He also sought out markets that would raise his profile off the court, leading to his signing with the New York Knicks in 2010. While playing, Mason Jr. began to show an insatiable curiosity for business opportunities off the court. This led to his ascension within the NBPA, where he eventually became deputy executive director alongside Michelle Roberts, the NBPA's current executive director. Toward the end of his playing career and during his time with the NBPA, Mason Jr. had an idea for a player-led media platform that would enable athletes to tell their stories to fans directly. This was before social media had become ubiquitous, and it led to the eventual company he founded in 2014, Vaunt. Today, Roger Mason Jr. is do-founder and CEO of Vaunt, which creates in-person, once-in-a-lifetime experiential events and streams high-quality content. The company provides fans with access to professional athletes, while also creating opportunities for players to build and monetize their own brands. How does a guy commit to Kansas sight unseen and end up becoming a Jayhawk for life? For Julian Wright—who grew up in Chicago watching Michael Jordan and the Bulls win championships—he just wanted to play. And when opportunity literally knocked, it was too good to pass up. That drive to be a Jayhawk led to an All-Big 12 and All-American career that included some superstar-type performances. But all good things eventually come to an end. And when Wright decided to leave the Jayhawks after just two seasons to turn pro, there were questions. Wright's decision would end up being the right one, after he was taken with the 13th pick of the 2007 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans). And if you doubted how much it hurt him to leave Kansas, how did he prove it when the Jayhawks won the 2008 national title?See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
