Episode 2 of 2 on Twin Peaks The ReturnCONTENT WARNING: The following episode contains frank discussions concerning the trauma resulting from sexual abuse/rape/incest and domestic violence, as well as the complexities of its depictions in Twin Peaks and the complexities of interpreting David Lynch's intentions with, and execution of, said subject matter. In October of 2021, Cinphomaniac celebrated their inaugural Lynchtober - a celebration and deep dive into the body of work of David Lynch. In what had been planned to be the grand finale to that inaugural season, the co-hosts recorded a mega pod to cover Twin Peaks - "The Return". However, the episode was not released... until now. Kyle Rittenhouse, Maxwell, Ahmaud Arbery cases. (Meant Maxwell case, however before recording I was looking at the Waters case and got the two names messed up on air.) Going into direction of show for upcoming season. What my attentions are with it. I answer rumors on if I am going to quit covering politics. Plus announcement of possible guests And even new true crime episode I give the subject name and explain problem with accessing location and a little bit about the issues. #mikesrandomthoughts #workingclassthoughts --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/michael-rickman/support

Originally Recorded November 2021 WARNING: This episode contains topics that are highly sensitive in nature. All views expressed in this recording are those of The Clap Back Couch. The information presented strictly reflects the opinions of the hosts based on external research, and should not be considered as medical or legal advice. Originally Recorded November 14th #SergeantBarca / #AlCalderon is the MVP of this episode with the scene stealing quote, "What we do now matters. Tomorrow is filled with blood and lies. It's all it will ever be." At his core, it's much in the same way #Negan started #TheSaviors ("We Save People"), but when did it all get away from #LylaBelshaw, #ElizabethKublek, and #MajorGeneralBeale? Is #MasonBeale the best character in the series? Does everyone, at this stage, hate #IrisBennett (including #PercyDelmado)? Originally Recorded - November 20th 2016 This episode picks up right where we left off last time, talking about. a great. many. thiiings. Among those being a possible "alternate" ending to The Force Awakens (don't get too excited), Was Luke in The Force Awakens or was that Mark Hamill's contract?, a Cloud City Administrator in Han's clothing, tears after The Empire Struck Back?, Star Trek: First...Fourth Wall Busting Nemesis?, practical CGI, Grey Sloan Memorial: Nexus of the Universe?, Terminator(s), Superman(s) and friends “Oh!...He caught ‘er!”, a change of pacing & kids today with their fiendishly quick eyes, Sherlock's geo-helio-(ec)centric universe, Jerry's gripe-mourning Firefly’s untimely death, Rogue One predictions (Yes, this is an older recording, sire, but it checks out - things will be up to date soon), and a very insightful Mark Hamill “quote”. Note/Apology: The TFA scene the numbskulls referenced but failed to properly identify is the one where 2 stormtroopers scramble to avoid Kylo Ren’s temper tantrum - post Rey’s escape. Great job, guys. Stevisms include: Realizing the gender of Lando Calrissian.
Originally Recorded - November 20th 2016 REY'S PARENTAGE REVEALED!… Okay, probably not. Here at the Block we don't DO pre-release spoilers. We don't KNOW them and we don't WANT to know them. As Ike Clanton always said, "Spoilers just don't go 'round here!" so check 'em at the door. But theories do go 'round here, and in this episode Jerry gives his "shower thoughts" on a possible theory for Rey's parentage that you've most likely not heard anywhere else, but also mostly likely won't end up being what happens in the movies either but we give it anyway cause that's just how we roll here at the Block. Also, more handwringing and whining from Jerry about what damage could be done to his precious Han Solo in the upcoming standalone films about the smuggler-turned-war hero-turned rathtar hauler, as he spews a litany of things "I don't want", the 70's Solo novels are visited, Han's tax free shooting of Greedo: murder or preemptive self-defense?, Dr Strange and how he and the rest of the Marvel Heroverse might tie-in and the potential for genre blurring and 4th wall busting there, Jerry confronts Steve about scolding him at the movies during Captain America: Civil War (a tense moment to be sure), is Black Widow super-soldier enhanced? (We've since learned that she apparently is), selective suspension of disbelief, Comedy and the gods of Egypt, Warcraft (the movie), The Mummy('s), remember Krull? Steve sure does - and you better watch your mouth about it, what about Battle Beyond The Stars? (A John Boy Walton Space Adventure), Ragnar Lothbrok and the Blood Eagle rite, Jerry's carelessness causing nightmares for his littles, actors using the Costanza principle, ANH HISHE, Jerry's possible theory on Rey's parentage (thru a steady stream of interruptions from Steve, who reveals that he somehow slept thru the whole Luke's lightsaber subplot of TFA!?), George Lucas' "explanation" for why Obi-Wan and Yoda de-atomized upon expiration, 200 mg a day of midichlorians, and did you know that Luke might possibly have a son named Scabby Laddblaster? Yep. He might. Helpful tip for enjoying the podcast: If you've been listening to this podcast and haven't been enjoying it, first off, you're probably not reading this anyway, but if you still are for some reason, try listening to it at half-speed, they sound half asleep and you might like that better. Once again, we renew our promise of better audio coming soon. Stevisms include: Well, the Scabby Laddblaster thing. (He sends his apologies for all the chasm-yawning, by the way) "I was TIRED!"
ORIGINALLY RECORDED NOVEMBER 25, 2016 Let me Tell You A Little Story. It's about this Mobster Thriller called '91 Days', you see? Server crashes, websites fail…there are a lot of mental fights in entrepreneurship.” Understand the Culture “If you want to be in the startup environment you have to understand the culture. How it works, etc… A lot of young startups that are trying to take off, don’t know the ins and outs. They may not know that they are going to wear twenty hats at a given time. You have to know how to convince people, you need to know marketing, law, accounting, and etc… It’s not essential to know everything, but you need to at least know a little bit about everything. Take Risks Ian's risk was his decision to drop out. That decision weighed a lot on him and it took time for him to make sure it was the right thing to do. Ian thinks that if you want to be successful and to move the needle, you need to take risks to separate yourself from the pack. Make Sacrifices There are so many things you want out of life, but you have to be able to prioritize them in order of importance. In order to make things happen, you need to make sacrifices on the things that don't matter at that exact moment. By doing this, it will lead to the things that are in order of importance to happen first. If you want to be successful, you’re not going to get the nice house, or the nice car, right away, but you will if you work at it. Shut Up For A Year Entrepreneurship is the buzz word right now. A year ago, Ian was using the word entrepreneurship quite often. Ian suggests to go into hiding and work on your business, for a year or so. Go to work, get stuff done, and when you believe you're ready or at least at a point of being comfortable, come out of hiding and tell the world about it. #Timestamp 00:30- Introduction 02:10- Passion for Flying 05:10- Why Aviation? 08:00- Struggles and Obstacles He Overcame 10:35- Biggest Failure 15:00- Resources 17:45- Life as an Entrepreneur 23:20- Take Risks, Make Sacrifices, and Shut Up For A Year Ian Hoyt Linkedin: www.linkedin.com/in/ianhoyt Twitter: twitter.com/ianhoyt Business Website: wilbur.co Facebook: www.facebook.com/IanDHoyt Personal Website: ianhoyt.com Blog: www.lifenomading.com/ Originally Recorded: November 3, 2015 __________ Techie, Millennial Author, WWE Fan, Podcaster. Listen closely to Rajat's real life examples about finding the right co-founder and his current struggles in his business. You can learn more around the 22 minute mark of this interview: Don't Quit Some of the best tech companies in the world started while working for another great startup. Rajat mentions that if you have a dying passion for creating something great, you will find time to not only work on the project during working hours, but you'll also spend the extra time to finish code and begin marketing your company, outside of normal working hours. For example, Third Eye may have the chance of being incredibly successful but if not, Rajat's safety net is his education. Rajat mentions to don't just quit. Create an MVP first, fail, and see if your efforts will be worth while in the end. Finding That Right Co-Founder To his first point in not quitting, there is a chance that when finding a co-founder, he or she may not work out. In the beginning of Third Eye, Rajat spent much of his time trying to build the product. He wanted to make sure that Third Eye is a product that people want. When trying to find a co-founder, Rajat thought he found a great partner. He was smart and an incredible engineer. But what he stresses is to make sure you work with your co founder and you understand who the person is and what they are like, while working on the project. You think you know who they are, but you will not know who the person truly until they are in the trenches with you, and stress levels are at a maximum. Don't Start A Company Just To Start a Company Starting a company sounds cool! It's fun to do so, but don't just start a company, just to start a company. The reason why is because when things go wrong, you'll be more to solve issues within the company if it's something you have a passion and desire to fix. If it's a problem you deeply care about, when things go wrong you'll be happier to solve the issue and more inclined to continue in creating something great. Besides having cool hair, Guy is an extraordinary gentleman that is passionate about making change. Some may call him a friend, others may call him family, but I would like to classify Guy as a nomad. This young man has traveled the world and has reaped the benefits of learning from different cultures. Now, some people can say in confidence that they are focused individuals, but Guy on the other hand is on a completely different level. Guy, is laser focused on developing a better product for his company Publishizer. Originally from Australia, currently living in California (UPDATE: Guy is currently living in Bali), Guy has been working on Publishizer for 2 years now. Publishizer is a crowdfunding platform for authors and publishers. As of December 2015, Publishizer has funded $430,000+ in author earnings. Publishizer core mission is to connect authors to publishers. It has also become the first ever crowd publishing website. Get Started! There isn't a perfect idea! Guy mentions that you need to get started. Simple as that. Find engineers, talk to people, find co-founders if you need to, but just get something out there. Create an MVP and put yourself on the map. No matter what it takes to do so. Focus On Selling Something If you cant sell something, then you won't be able to get feedback on the product itself. Selling doesn't have to be the exchange of money. It could be as simple as having people sign up, but by focusing on selling, you'll be able to ask for feedback. That way, you can create a better product! Once you try to actively sell something to someone, you figure out quickly if you're creating something that has value. If its not valuable you'll know you have to change your direction. It doesn't necessarily have to be a drastic change in direction, but a slight change none the less. Keep At It When Guy was creating Publishizer, he had a couple of close calls and ended up having that feeling of giving up. Like most entrepreneurs, it's normal. But what Guy suggests is to not make any drastic decisions that could potentially derail your company, or also change the lives of those around you. Guy suggests that if you have the ability to do so. take some time off to clear your head. "If you have to take a week off...do it." Says Mr. Vincent. If you're at that early of a stage, it could be beneficial. "Ride through those periods of doubt and you'll find new ideas or even a different approach." Once you come back, get back into the grind and try to pump things out. If you can't tell how much passion this young man has, just wait until you listen to the interview itself. Josh has been creating businesses since he was in high school. Listen and feel the electricity from Josh. You can learn more about his three pieces of advice he'd give to millennials at the 21 minute mark of this interview: It Took 8 Years To Be An Overnight Success Jack Dorsey said it best. There are a ton of entrepreneurs that look like an overnight success, but more than likely, they have been grinding for years on end. It's just you either haven't paid attention to them, or they are finally getting their big break. Josh is one of those that have worked their butt off for years and are finally getting the attention that they deserve. Even at the ripe age of 22, he's accomplished a lot. Josh mentions that when you're starting a business, it's ok to want to be rich, be your own boss or other ways to fill up the ego. Every entrepreneur has a goal similar to that, even if they don't openly admit it. Money and other materialistic things aren't going to support you when you fall. What drives Josh is that he loves helping entrepreneurs with their ideas and bringing them to life. If you're not sold on your purpose, all of your other goals won't stop you. When the going gets tough, you'll have your core identity and mission to keep your head held high and maintain that drive to succeed! You're Not Going To Be Rich At First The first three years at Chop Dawg, they made around 30k in it's entirety. Which Josh mentions isn't a lot, based off of how many hours he spent working on all of the projects. This past year, Josh took a $0 paycheck. He did this to allocate more funds back into his business. This past year he's been able to quadruple their revenue and are currently having the best year of their business. Start At An Early Age Josh had the luxury of starting his business when life was least stressful. Josh started his business at what he believes was the "perfect time." He currently doesn't have many responsibilities outside of life. He has to pay for his insurance, car, rent, and material things, but other than that. That's about it. His wallet won't be broken by other things, and has allowed him to do things that others may not be able to do.
