http://www.attractionchecklist.com - Test Track 2.0 is now gone, but let's head to EPCOT in Walt Disney World and ride it one last time on this episode of Attraction Checklist. Attraction audio recorded on June 6, 2024. TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode we visit EPCOT to ride Test Track The Walt Disney World website describes this attraction by saying: Design a virtual concept car and put it to the test on this thrilling, high-octane attraction. Guests must be 40” or taller to ride and the Thrill Level describes the ride as being a Thrill Ride with Small Drops. Before we hop in a SIM Car, here are five fast facts about Test Track. 1. Test Track officially opened at EPCOT on March 17, 1999. The attraction replaced the original Epcot attraction World of Motion. 2. The version of the attraction we are hearing on this episode is known as Test Track 2.0. This version of the attraction opened on December 6, 2012. This version let riders design their perfect test car and then see how well that card did on the attraction. 3. Test Track vehicles can reach speeds of up to 64.9 mph or 104.4km/h. 4. The music for Test Track 2.0 was composed by Paul Leonard-Morgan who has composed music for television, film and video games. 5. On June 17, 2024, Test Track 2.0 closed to make way for Test Track 3.0 which Disney has said will be inspired by the original World of Motion attraction. Let's go ride Test Track 2.0 one last time. Now I will say it was really difficult to get a good quality recording of this attraction. The first time I rode it John B. deHaas was with me but the people in the car with us were so noisy and vulgar, we pretty much decided that that audio couldn't be released publicly. Though it will be released at the same time a this episode as a Patreon Patron exclusive to those Patrons who want to hear. We even included a review, of our fellow riders. But forgetting about that, here now is Test Track 2.0 and afterwards I'll give you my thoughts on this attraction. This is a binaural recordings so if you have headphone put them on now as we experience Test Track 2.0 at Walt Disney World's EPCOT. The attraction audio recorded for this episode is available exclusively to the Saturday Morning Media Patron Patron. On this episode, I spoke to composer Paul Leonard-Morgan about his work on Fellow Travelers. Fellow Travelers stars Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey. Leonard-Morgan is an Emmy nominee, a 2x BAFTA nominee, and a Cinema Eye Honors Award nominee.
This podcast has had a long and fruitful relationship with composer Paul Leonard-Morgan, the man behind the scores of films like Dredd and Limitless, among countless others. But two commonalities have permeated the scores he's discussed with me: Errol Morris and Philip Glass. For the former, he teamed up to score Amazon's Tales from the Loop; for the latter, he's scored A Psychedelic Love Story among many other Morris docs, many of them alongside Glass. Now, both have teamed up for yet another of Morris' deep probes into an intriguing figure, this time famed novelist John le Carre, the author of books like Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Framed as the prototypical days-long sitdown between Morris and his subject, The Pigeon Tunnel takes us through le Carre's childhood and early days with his abusive father, to his time in the spy service, to the ways those experiences informed his legendary novels. In so doing, Glass and Leonard-Morgan had to build a whopping eighty minutes of score, a propulsive effort that keeps the spy-thriller momentum of the doc going with cimbaloms and other features of the '60s espionage caper. And this week, we've got Paul back on the podcast to talk about his collabs with Morris and Glass, and building a score for the most mysterious man in the world. You can find Paul Leonard-Morgan at his official website here. The Pigeon Tunnel is currently streaming on Apple TV+, and you can listen to the score on your preferred music streaming service courtesy of Platoon.

"DREDD" Composer: Paul Leonard-Morgan.Paul Leonard-Morgan has composed some pretty amazing scores- Limitless, The Tomorrow Man and the iconic and very original "DREDD" score. EMMY nominated, BAFTA winning and Ivor Novello nominated composer who has become one of the most sought-after tv & film composers in the US and UK, as well as taking the concert / neo-classical world by storm. His unique cinematic style, fusing orchestra with electronica has put him in high demand, both as a producer for bands and as a soundtrack composer.Welcome, Paul-Leonard Morgan.www.mmcpodcast.comContact: Mondaymorningcritic@gmail.comhttps://www.instagram.com/mondaymorni...https://www.tiktok.com/@UCjjhZfRL7uKT... https://www.facebook.com/mondaymornin...https://twitter.com/mdmcritic?lang=en#dredd #superhero #podcast #fyp #interview #composer #music #moviemusic #soundtrack #moviesoundtrack #karlurban #judgedredd
Mike MacLennan is a TV & Film composer. Recent work includes the flagship BBC1 series Who Do You Think You Are, and he is currently co-scoring an upcoming natural history feature for Netflix with Paul-Leonard Morgan. He has written music for The Grand Tour (Amazon), Designated Survivor (Netflix) and the hit TV show, Dynasty. He has also composed additional music for a number of TV & film projects, working most recently with David Arnold on the BBC One drama Inside Man, starring Stanley Tucci & David Tennant. In this special bonus episode, we delve into what it means to be a media composer. Mike initially started out learning piano, and he knew from an early age that he wanted to work in the TV and Film industry. ----more---- In this episode, you will learn: How Mike uses the piano to approach writing music for TV shows like Designated Survivor and Dynasty How anyone can get started writing orchestral music Why Library music is often referred to as a composers pension! And much, much more!
In this episode of The Big Score, composer/producer, Paul Leonard-Morgan, reveals that his mother told him, “don't go into music, you'll never make a career of it.” But, in fact, he has made a successful and award-winning career out of it. In creating the score for 20th Century Studios' “Boston Strangler” airing on Hulu, Paul found great depth in the lead character “Loretta,” the female journalist who helped connect the murders, creating a quieter quartet feel with a massive orchestral sound for ‘the Strangler' character. As the suspense in the film builds, Paul masterfully meshes the smaller quartet sound with the big orchestral sound and then runs it through 8000 volts of electricity. What happens next? You'll have to tune in.
BAFTA winning composer, Paul Leonard-Morgan explains how he composed the score for new Hulu and Disney+ film, Boston Strangler, starring Keira Knightley.

Samuel finally played Cyberpunk 2077 properly, and had a (mostly) good time! This episode interrogates CD Projekt RED's RPG/shooter, two years after release and firmly outside the shadow of the marketing campaign that made it such a headache to write about in the first place. This week's music is from the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack by P. T. Adamczyk, Marcin Przybyłowicz and Paul Leonard-Morgan. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The story of CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 is now much bigger than the game itself. Still, in this episode, Matthew discusses his 70 hours playing the glitchy but nonetheless fascinating game, while Samuel throws questions at him about the game's best quests and why it's not a very good immersive sim. In the second half, we discuss the ways in which writing about big games has changed over the years. Note that this episode was recorded before Sony pulled Cyberpunk 2077 from sale on the PlayStation Store - the conversation around this game has changed quickly...This week's music is from the game's soundtrack by Marcin Przybyłowicz, PT Adamczyk and Paul Leonard-Morgan, as well as the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack by Koji Kondo and Mahito Yokota.
What happened to Timothy Leary? One minute, he was an anti-establishment rebel, spending ten years in prison after advocating for the "turn on, tune in, drop out" drug liberation culture of the '70s; the next, he was a government narc, informing on the same people he hooked in. One possible explanation lies in his exciting, deeply idiosyncratic relationship with Swiss-born Joanna Harcourt-Smith, the subject of Errol Morris' latest documentary My Psychedelic Love Story (which hits Showtime this weekend). Centered entirely on Harcourt-Smith's side of the story, Morris' latest doc is playful and intriguing in all the ways you'd expect of his interrogative, interview-centric approach to documentary filmmaking. It certainly helps, of course, that frequent collaborator Paul Leonard-Morgan is along for the ride, painting between the lines of Harcourt-Smith's lively, charming investigation of her own past, as much a mystery to her as it is to the audience. Was she really a CIA spy, a Mata Hari figure meant to take down one of the government's greatest counterculture nuisances? Or was she a lost, naive girl looking for the ride of a lifetime? Leonard-Morgan (no stranger to this podcast; we talked to him earlier this year about Amazon's Tales from the Loop) weaves an intricate blend of synths, driving strings, and percussion through Morris' kaleidoscopic, montage-heavy approach to Harcourt-Smith's story. Luckily, we managed to catch him in the final weeks of preparing the score to talk to us about working with Morris, the engaging mysteries of the film's subject, and the logistical complexities about recording live music during a global pandemic. Listen to our interview with Paul Leonard-Morgan, as well as an exclusive piano rendition of the film's main theme.

After working with bands like Simple Minds and Belle and Sebastian, the Scottish composer Paul Leonard-Morgan went on to write the soundtracks for Limitless, Dredd and the TV series Spooks (MI-5). More recently, he's collaborated on projects with two of the biggest names in the business: documentarian Errol Morris and composer Philip Glass. In the podcast, he tells Andrew Anderson about embracing mistakes, getting over imposter syndrome and the creative opportunities of being on lockdown.
Paul Leonard-Morgan’s unique cinematic style of fusing orchestra with electronica has put him in high demand as a film composer, a producer and arranger for bands, and has led him to win a BAFTA award, and receive Emmy & Ivor Novello nominations. In this continuation of the first part of the interview we delve deep into the world of our new favorite show, Amazon's Tales From The Loop and Paul's work with Phillip Glass on the series.

TV writer Darren Swimmer (Shadowhunters, Smallville) and composer Richard Einhorn (Voices of Light) offer some advice on a range of quarantine-relevant topics, including apps that help you focus, where to find the best information on the latest public health updates, and curating your streaming lineup. And composer/ producer Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Wormwood) shares the challenges of collaborating and recording with musicians sheltering at home.
Paul Leonard-Morgan is no stranger to composing for science fiction, lending a propulsive, industrial wall of sound to films like Limitless and Dredd, as well as video games like the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077. But with Amazon Prime Video's latest anthology series Tales from the Loop, he's in a milder, more contemplative mode -- delicate, thoughtful, and endearingly beautiful. Based on the 'suburban sci-fi' artwork of Swedish illustrator Simon Stålenhag, Tales from the Loop tells the story of a sleepy, timeless town, under which lies 'the Loop', an research facility overseen by a mysterious institute conducting experiments on the nature of the universe. Along the way, the residents of the town feel its curious effects -- time loops, alternate universes, and the like -- and discover new things about themselves along the way. Closer to something like Arrival than Stranger Things, Tales from the Loop eschews bombast for something more akin to a tone poem. Episodes are slow, deliberate, heavily fueled by dusky visuals and restrained performances by the likes of Jonathan Pryce, Rebecca Hall and Paul Schneider, most of whom flit in and out of the episodes as we see the disparate ways the Loop's experiments reveal new things about these decidedly ordinary people. And underpinning this all is the score, a collaboration between Leonard-Morgan and the legendary Philip Glass that coats each stolen glance and mournful experiment with minimalist, arpeggio-laden wonder. Tales from the Loop is all about its atmosphere, and Glass and Leonard-Morgan's score mines a graceful elegance from the interdimensional magic surrounding Mercer, Ohio's denizens. In anticipation of the show's release, The Spool sat down with Leonard-Morgan to talk about Tales from the Loop's bittersweet magic, working with Philip Glass, and the ways the isolation that comes from our current historical moment is changing the ways composers and musicians collaborate with each other remotely.

Paul has scored a bevy of fantastic projects including Limitless, the hit show MI-5 (Spooks) and now the sci-fi action extravaganza Dredd. We talk about his approach for the score and how he wanted to do a different kind of blockbuster. He makes his case for his electronic-heavy sound and what he wanted to do to escape the traditional sound Hollywood usually goes after in action movies. We also chat about how his music had to compete with sound effects in the final mix and if action score should work precisely with the heavy editing or sort of flow underneath. Paul is always great fun to chat with and it was an honor to have him back on F.M.M. Enjoy!
