Soderbergh's use of stylish visuals, smooth camera movements, and vibrant color palettes further enhance the film's overall aesthetic, giving it a sleek and sophisticated feel. The cinematography by Soderbergh himself, under the pseudonym Peter Andrews, is a visual feast.

RSR host Fred Williams and Brodie Leitch continue to expose the deception behind the Smithonian's Hall of Origins and the widely promoted 'march of progress' illustration that has effectively fooled many into believing in evolution. Today's show uncovers the truth behind 3 more alleged ape-men promoted by the Smithonian: Ardipithecus kadabba, Ardipithecus ramidus (Ardi), and Australopithecus anamensis. The first alleged ape-man in the list was boldly proclaimed as bipedal, all based off of a single toe bone! The 2nd ape included 34 pulverized bones that 14 reconstructions later yielded the look wanted by Dr. Owen Lovejoy, who has a history of bonesaw reconstructions to produce fake ape-men to promote his propagandist narrative. Finally, the last ape-man in the list was just 3 bone fragments scattered 600 miles apart that is unlikely the same creature. As famed Harvard paleontologist Stephen Jay Gould once candidly admitted, “Most hominid fossils ... serve as a basis for endless speculation and elaborate storytelling" all based on "fragments of jaws and scraps of skulls”.  Ape-men article rebuttals 3 through 5... (see Smithonian Part 1 show for first two rebuttal articles; articles courtesy of Brodie Leitch) 3. Ardipithecus kadabba “Ardipithecus kadabba” (pronounced: “Aar-duh-pith-uh-kuhs kuh-dah-bah” and meaning “oldest ancestor” in the Afar language) was discovered in the Middle Awash Valley in Ethiopia in 1997. In spite of the fact that this alleged species “is only known in the fossil record by a few post-cranial bones and sets of teeth,” (a total of 36 bone fragments) The Smithsonian claims that: “‘Ardipithecus kadabba' was bipedal.” The “evidence” for this claim is: “One bone from the large toe has a broad, robust appearance, suggesting its use in bipedal push-off.” Claiming to have discovered an ape-man, (and a bipedal one, no less) based off of a single toe bone is already sketchy, but it gets worse for the evolutionists. In the same article, the Smithsonian admits that:“So far, the evidence for ‘Ardipithecus kadabba's' upright walking comes from a single toe bone that dates to 5.2 million years old [400,000 years younger than the other specimens] and was found 10 miles away from the other ‘Ardipithecus kadabba' specimens.” After their bold claim of bipedality and confession of such little evidence, the Smithsonian asks: “Was Ardipithecus kadabba routinely bipedal?”, “If Ardipithecus kadabba walked upright, what was its gait like?” and “is Ardipithecus kadabba somehow related to Orrorin tugenensis and Sahelanthropus tchadensis?” So not only are they unsure if “Ardipithecus kadabba” walked upright, they aren't sure it's related to humans either. 4. Ardipithecus ramidus (Ardi) (Partial skeleton (ARA-VP-6/500) "Ardi".) “Ardipithecus ramidus” (pronounced: “Aar-duh-pith-uh-kuhs ram-ee-dus” and nicknamed “Ardi”) was discovered in Middle Awash and Gona, Ethiopia between 1992 and 1994. The fragments were assembled into a partial skeleton in 2009. (15 years later.) The Smithsonian claims that: “Since that time, [1992-1994] [paleoanthropologist, Dr. Tim] White's team have uncovered over 100 fossil specimens of Ardipithecus ramidus.” Keep in mind that even with 100+ “specimens”, (which are only fragments and according to the Australia museum, “represent about 35 individual members of this species”) they still only have 1 skeleton. The discoverers argue that “the ‘Ardi' skeleton reflects a human-African ape common ancestor that was not chimpanzee-like.” However, the fossils were in such poor condition, that Dr. Tim White (the leading paleontologist on the team who discovered the fossils) stated that they were “like roadkill” with the discovery channel adding in their documentary, “Discovering Ardi”, that: “Her skull was found in 34 pulverized, scattered pieces that were compacted down to about one-and-a-half inches thick.” One of the allegedly human-like features is the pelvis. Some evolutionists claim that the pelvis shows adaptations that combine tree-climbing and bipedal activity. However, as reported in the Discovery Channel's documentary titled: “Discovering Ardi”, the pelvis was too badly broken and fragile to take out of the matrix it was in, so Dr. Owen Lovejoy made a reconstruction based on his knowledge of primate anatomy and a Micro CT scanner. After 14 different possible configurations, the team settled on the configuration shown in most reports. Secular paleo-experts Drs. Wood and Harrison, rightly expressed a great deal of concern about this, pointing out that “a whole lot of speculation went into the final pelvis reconstruction.” Dr. Jungers stated that: “That's really kind of a 3-D Rorschach test if you ask me,” and "I'm still not convinced that it's necessarily completely accurate”. The Smithsonian is still asking: “Does the pelvis of Ar. ramidus support the hypothesis that this early human species was bipedal?” (Ardi's Pelvis vs. Rorschach Inkblot Test) Dr. Lovejoy believes that Ardi's spine was probably long and curved like a human's rather than short and stiff like a chimp's. He based that belief on both the pelvis that was reconstructed 14 times and his guess that Ardi had 6 lumbar vertebrae, (despite the fact that most apes have only 3 or 4, and humans have 5) but they don't even have any of Ardi's lumbar vertebrae. The displays and animations of Ardi, insert an entirely imaginary spine (with a four-part curve like humans) into the reconstructed base of her skull using imaginary neck vertebrae. Most of the foramen magnum (the whole in the base of the skull where the spinal chord connects) which the imaginary spine is connected to, is also missing. Unlike Ardi's “human-like” features (which are speculative at best) Ardi's ape-like features are obvious. According to Science.org: “The skull of this tiny ape can fit into the palm of your hand like a softball and her brain was about the same size as bonobo or a female chimp.” In addition to that, Ardi's foot had a hallux, (grasping toe, hanging off to the side) just like apes have today so they can use their feet like hands for grabbing branches while moving in trees. According to Dr. Tim White, the toe “really doesn't differ from apes, and that's the surprising thing. It is fully apelike.” Dr. Jungers added “I see nothing in the foot that suggests bipedality.” As Genesis Apologetics states: “When you put her [Ardi] next to a bonobo, it sure seems like she fits into the ape family quite well.” 5. Australopithecus anamensis Australopithecus anamensis (pronounced “Ah-struh-low-pith-ee-kus A-na-men-sees”) is a set of fossil fragments, discovered between 1965 and 2019. (A 54-Year span)  Fossils of this “species” have been found in the Middle Awash region in northeast Ethiopia and at three sites (Allia Bay, Kanapoi and Sibolot) around Lake Turkana in Kenya. The areas in which these fossils were discovered are almost 600 miles apart. Most of the fragments undoubtedly came from apes. The Smithsonian's article on ‘Australopithecus anamensis' lists multiple obvious ape-like features: “Long forearms and features of the wrist bones suggest these individuals probably climbed trees” “a protruding face” “long and narrow braincase” “forwardly projecting cheekbones similar to Paranthropus” “thickly-built, long, narrow… strong jaws” “heavily enameled teeth” “The sites where remains of ‘Australopithecus anamensis' have been found were forests and woodlands that grew around lakes.” The Australian Museum adds:  “size was probably similar to that of modern chimpanzees” And the journal “Nature” reported that anamensis had:  “specialized wrist morphology associated with knuckle-walking.” Controversy has surrounded the allegedly more human-like nature of the tibia and humerus. The Smithsonian says that:  “The top part of the tibia (where the lower leg meets the knee) is concave, or depressed from stress. This shows that the individual often put weight on the bone—evidence of standing upright. The lower part of the tibia (where the lower leg meets the ankle) is wider or thicker—evidence that it acted as a type of shock absorber as this individual walked.” The Australian Museum says likewise: “the knee-end of the tibia (shin bone) was human-like as the upper surfaces of the two knobs (condyles) at the top of the tibia were similar in size and concave in shape. This feature indicates this species could walk bipedally (on two legs).” And the “Scientific American” adds: “The anamensis humerus lacks a deep, oval hollow, used as a locking mechanism between the humerus and ulna, the latter being present in chimpanzees, but not in humans, and the anamensis tibia is wide, as in humans, because of extra spongy tissue, which acts as shock absorbers during bipedal locomotion.” These are very strong claims considering that they're only based on 3 bone fragments. Contrary to these overly-confident claims, in a 1995

A Pumpkin Patch, a Typewriter, and Richard Nixon: The Hiss-Chambers Espionage Case

Campaigning for the US Senate, 1950. Pic - Library of Congress In this 8th podcast, we explore the thinking of Richard Nixon.  Put yourself in his position.  You're 35, elected to the House in a Republican wave year from a district that is usually safely Democratic.  Your plum Committee assignment was Education and Labor.  But, on HUAC, this throbbing blob of a Case has come rolling in the door.  You and Bob Stripling saw possibilities that no one else saw and now The Case is all yours.  You have satisfied yourself that Hiss is lying and Chambers is telling the truth.  Now, for you, the issue is how far do you take this.  Do you risk everything (your whole career) for it?  How to prevent The Establishment from rallying around its fair haired boy Alger?  How to convince them that Hiss is lying and they should give you free rein?  How to satisfy yourself that Chambers will not crack under the pressure of public scrutiny and Democrat attacks, that he'll convince typical Americans, that there's nothing fishy in his past, that his love of melodrama will not carry him away into fantastication?  If anything goes wrong, in six months you'll be back in Whittier doing slip and fall cases.  In this podcast, you'll hear about the inner turmoil and external events that made up the mind of the future President.  Further Research: Episode 8:  Speculating about the thinking of Richard Nixon has been an indoor sport for people who knew him and the American intelligentsia for decades.  In his own writings about this moment in the Case, he is unusually candid about how uncertain and anxious he was.  See Six Crises at 19-23; see also Weinstein at 36-37.  Nixon sent his brother Ed and his Mother to chat with the Chamberses.  Ed Nixon & Karen Olson, “The Nixons: A Family Portrait” (2009) at 137-38.  Nixon also consulted a reporter for the leading liberal Republican newspaper, The New York Herald Tribune.  This Reporter, Bert Andrews, had been very critical of HUAC and other security agencies for being sloppy in recent investigations.  Nixon used him as a sounding board and devil's advocate in this Case and Andrews became a fascinated eyewitness to these and later crucial moments.  Andrews' posthumous memoir, “A Tragedy of History:  A Journalist's Confidential Role in the Hiss-Chambers Case,”  by Bert and Peter Andrews (1962) at 72-77 describes Andrews' first chats with Nixon and Chambers.  Andrews says that Chambers, when he needed time to shape his answers to questions, paused for 30-40 seconds and looked like he had gone into a trance.  Nixon, by the way, did not include Stripling in his deliberations at this phase. Questions:  You're Richard Nixon.  How do you decide whether to risk your whole career by supporting Chambers all the way?  How do you verify or discredit all the (alleged) facts about the Hisses' life in 1934-37 that Chambers divulged in his secret testimony?  Use HUAC's staff, obviously.  How else?  How do you get to know Chambers and form an opinion about his honesty (and perhaps sanity)?  Remember, he doesn't have to talk to you if he doesn't want to.  How can you investigate his past and see if there's anything fishy there?  How do you deter the natural pro-Hiss inclination of the Republican Establishment, which is itself invested in Hiss?  (Hiss's mentor at the Carnegie Endowment is John Foster Dulles, chief foreign policy advisor to Republican Presidential candidate Thomas E. Dewey.)  Assuming you decide to ‘bet the farm' on Chambers, how do you get the news media involved so that this Case becomes Nixon's Triumph and not HUACs?  How do you separate yourself in the public mind from HUAC and launch a spectacular career of your own without earning the undying hatred of those you leave behind — Bob Stripling and the other members of HUAC?

In this episode, Dan talks with Stuart Andrews from Forage Farms. They discuss Regenerative Farming practises; in particular Natural Sequence Farming, his upbringing with infamous father Peter Andrews (“P.A”), along with the state of farming in Australia today and how we as consumers can support ethical farming. It is a deep conversation that will remain an important topic for years to come. Stuart Andrews is a farmer who has dedicated over 30 years of his life to understanding, practicing and teaching land rehabilitation techniques. Stuart was raised at the 1500 acre “Tarwyn Park” in Bylong, the celebrated home of Natural Sequence Farming, pioneered by Stuart's father Peter Andrews. Natural Sequence Farming (NSF) is now internationally recognised as a significant innovation in sustainable agriculture and land care, and the story of Tarwyn Park has featured on the ABC program Australian Story on four occasions, three of these being a double episode. Tarwyn Park is predominantly floodplain country and was subject to regular flooding. Stuart spent 17 years managing the property, running horses, cattle and sheep and making hay. Stuart has been involved in public education for most of his adult life. He has staged numerous successful field days at Tarwyn Park and been a guest at several field days in Victoria arranged by Healthy Ag. In 2012, Stuart Andrews co-founded Tarwyn Park Training, the principal education wing for NSF. As director of TPT, he has conducted multiple workshops on NSF with landowners in Queensland (with a focus on saving the Great Barrier Reef), New South Wales, Victoria and ACT, including with the Mulloon Institute. The current project at “Riverside”, Stuart's property in Kybong (just south of Gympie, QLD) marries Natural Sequence Farming methods with other tried and tested models of regenerative agriculture. Stuart is treating pigs and poultry as primary colonisers of infertile land and moving them across the property in a manner that emulates the intensive rotational grazing or ‘mob grazing' methods associated with Joel Salatin of Polyface farm in the US. To use the language of NSF, rather than degrade land, these animals will aggrade land, serving as ‘nutrient donors' that help to build soil fertility. Both animals graze upon a variety of existing plant species, and their disturbance of the soil stimulates the germination of seed, microbial activity and soil aeration. Land is left for long periods of recovery between short periods of grazing disturbance, creating the conditions for thriving and biodiverse pasture that can ultimately support stock. Further, by building soil nutrition and resilience, the land will be less susceptible to erosion or compaction, ensuring that less sediment enters the Mary River. Rotational grazing infrastructure is installed at a good distance from the river. This trial is intended to establish a model of land rehabilitation that can be scaled up from very small blocks to large acreages, while also allowing the farmer to derive an income from the land. It presents a terrific opportunity to train less experienced farmers in economically viable land rehabilitation. It is also a model of farming that can be conducted cooperatively between the owners of several neighbouring properties. In sum, the trial builds upon Stuart's extensive knowledge of environmentally beneficial farming practices, reflects his commitment to sharing knowledge with others, and is guided by models of sustainable/regenerative agriculture that have been highly successful elsewhere in the world. Peter Andrews is one of Australia's landscape geniuses, who has been battling to change the stats quo attitude of government, farmers and land managers to hydrology and restoring landscape function for 40 years. Charlie sat with Peter at his farm in the central Tablelands of NSW while he recounted his formative years of desert life, how that informed his lifelong passion to restore the oldest continent in the world, and highlights that the healing of this land is totally within our reach if we reinstate a few simple principles of land management that had kept this landscape the most productive in the world. Episode Takeaways: There is a predictable natural sequence within the landscape we just have to recreate and nurture it | Peter’s property at Bungonia was bought to be a demonstration site, this region of NSW was a very over exploited area given its location between Sydney and Canberra | Plants are specialists at bringing various components and elements into a landscape | We don’t recreate the old landscape, we recreate the processes and function of the landscape | The landscape evolved due to plants managing water | Frequent fire, flood and drought are symptoms of a dysfunctional landscape | Peter grew up at Broken Hill where his experiences of desert storms and floods started him on his journey to rehydrate the landscape of Australia | Pioneering plants are essential to repair the landscapes | The current agricultural system that replies on the removal of specific plants is costing our farmers businesses and the landscapes health | Peter’s experience with sheep health in those early years identified the importance of nutrition and how a functioning landscape provides a broad range of plants to provide this nutrition | Over-stocked properties and poor understanding of hydrology has caused the degradation of the landscape | Early experiments on the family property at Broken Hill included ripping along the high water mark of food plains | The Australian landscape had a higher percentage of pines and palms than is currently there | We are generally left with fire recovery desert plants, mostly eucalypts | Water much more influential in the atmosphere than carbon | Hot air produced inland from a lack of transpiring vegetation and moving towards, and being absorbed by, the area over the moist ocean creates damaging weather events | Capillary action and gravity are the fundamental phenomena NSF relies upon to work | Fire flood and drought are opportunities to change the pattern and create plant succession | The Peter’s horses performance were results of the management of his land, where a fundamental principle was to let all plants grow | Willows are suckers in the landscape wounds that are creeks and rivers | Peter was able to double the aquatic life in riparian zones in 2 years using willows to heal them | 95mm dew can be accumulated in a year where ground cover is maintained | Restoring deciduous green trees in flow lines reduces fire risk | The eucalypts in the landscape before human management were huge, towering above the canopy and had the role of reducing the escape of moisture from the area | The best management post any fire is to spread seeds of deciduous shrub and tree species | It all gets back to human and environmental health and this is Peter’s motivation. Charlie caught up with Stuart Andrews, the son of the founder of Natural Sequence Farming (NSF) Peters Andrews, the day after Stuart had completed a 4 day NSF training workshops at Charlie's farm Hanaminno. Stuart is an incredibly open and honest man, and he left few stones unturned in taking Charlie thought the fascinating and often turbulent life as the son of Peter Andrews, the legacy Peter has left, and the continuation of his fathers life work. Episode Takeaways:  Stuart believes that we can never bring our landscape back to how it was, but we can rebuild the function it once had | Stuart describes the current Australian landscape like a dishevelled dinosaur skeleton, that we need to piece back together to restore landscape function | Peter’s teaching style was challenging | Stuart was growing up on their farm Tarwyn Park under Peter’s management, whilst Peter was still figuring out the principles of Natural Sequence Farming | Stuart left school at 15, and it’s not so much that he hated school but he loved the farm more | Tarwyn Park was a thoroughbred stud running large herds of horses, a very different management style to conventional studs | With Peter’s focus on understanding, experimenting and developing the NSF principles, and not on the horse business, meeting the financial needs of the farm was challenging when Stuart was in his late teens | The horses were his test case, using these sensitive creatures in the landscape to test his theories | The bank repossessed the farm in 1994 for 6 weeks before Peter managed to secure a Research and Development grant which secured the property again from the bank for another couple of years | The bank came knocking on the door again in 1998 and Stuart sort finance to take over the properties and the debt. Peter refused to hand over property, however he finally did release the property and the horse business to Stuart | Stuart agreed with Peter that he could continue to do NSF work on Tarwyn Park | A visit from the then deputy Prime Minister John Anderson validated on a public & national stage the work Peter had been doing | In 2010 coal miners started to take interest in the Bylong Valley area and for 3 years the Andrews family battled with the miners, then eventually chose to sell - as the threat of being surrounded by the mine was greater than any desire to stay, fight and then put up with that situation | There have been many benefits to landscape of miners 'locking up' the country in the Bylong Valley they bought | In 2012 Stuart ran his first NSF training program | His family now live on one of their farms on SE Queensland - Forage Farms, and produce meat chickens, eggs and pork, inspired by Joel Salatin of Polyface Farm | Stuart believes we have created a massive drainage system in our landscape, and we must break this paradigm of how to manage water effectively if we are to restore its function and our farms Episode Links:  Tarwyn Park Training  Forage Farms - Stuart Andrew’s farm enterprise, Sunshine Coast, Queensland RCS - Holistic Agribusiness education providers Australian Story ‘ Land Regeneration -Peter Andrews’ - 2017 Low Stress Stock Handling - Grahame Rees Polyface Farm - Joel Salatin

They see the space as a natural next step for businesses that need to graduate from the open coworking concept.“We really want to create that sense of community for those that want more than just an office without having a neighbor that they can go and talk to.” -Bucky Beeman, Co-owner of Offices at China Hall

"There's a code amongst guys that shook Sinatra's hand!" Even though Ocean's Twelve was financially successful, it was largely disliked by audiences who saw it as a misfire. When the studio decided to make a follow-up, they returned the story to Vegas where the first film took place and made a film that largely feels like a return to form. But that doesn't mean the film isn't without its problems. Join us – Pete Wright and Andy Nelson – as we continue our Ocean's series with Steven Soderbergh's 2007 film Ocean's Thirteen. We talk about where the film falls on our own ranking of Soderbergh's trilogy and ponder how anyone could see it any other way. We look at the direction they took the script with this one and look at all the various elements they amped up with ridiculous comedy, and how two of those moments feel very much like weak writing just to make the heist work. We look at the brilliant cast and discuss them, but notably point out Al Pacino added as the new villian and how wonderfully he works here. We also talk about the lack of women and why, also commenting on how wonderful it is to see Ellen Barkin again even if it's a disappointingly written role. We look at what Soderbergh is doing here as cinematographer Peter Andrews on his last film shot on film. And we dig into the back story behind Linus' fake nose and connections to Evel Knievel. It's a fun film with its own share of problems, but certainly a fitting entry into the Ocean's franchise. We have a great time talking about it so check it out then tune in! The use of talc and its potential connection with ovarian cancer has hit the headlines after a court ruling in America. Given that nearly half the UK population uses talc to some degree GP Dr Margaret McCartney looks at the evidence and puts any link in perspective. PBC is an often missed condition that causes severe itching and fatigue with the resulting liver damage mistakenly associated with drinking too much. Laura Gilmore lived with the symptoms for many years - scratching herself raw and falling asleep during the day but still not waking refreshed - before getting a diagnosis. Professor James Neuberger explains the science behind PBC. Plus treating severe head injury and why a commonly used intervention used in intensive care units across the country is being questioned. Professor Peter Andrews is the man behind a new trial looking at the evidence for hypothermia, or cooling people with head trauma to prevent damage. The trial was stopped because early evidence suggested harms from this commonly used practice. Dr Mark Porter discusses the implications for critical care medicine across the world with Peter Andrews and Professor John Myburgh who is at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.

According to a recent article in HousingWire, the recent push by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to offload pools of non-performing loans sales will increase the depth of the distressed residential mortgage market, which could have positive implications for banks seeking to sell their own non-performing loans. Fitch analysts believe that residential mortgage NPLs are far less of a threat to the GSEs and banks than they were five years ago, but note that 90-plus day past-due loans are still elevated relative to historical averages and relative to their contributions to total NPL levels. Analysts believe this implies that both the GSEs and the banks remain motivated sellers of NPLs. According to Fitch’s data, FDIC-insured banks held a total of approximately $61 billion in 90-plus days past due one-to-four family mortgages at the end of 2014 compared to Fannie and Freddie who held about $86 billion of 90-plus day delinquent loans. These conditions make a robust NPL market a real possibility for the balance 2015 and beyond. Joining me today to discuss Distressed Mortgage Trading is Peter Andrews, Founder & CEO of Dreambuilder Investments, a private investment firm specializing in the acquisition, management and liquidation of defaulted residential mortgages.  Peter is responsible for management of the firm’s trading activities and the continuous design and development of Dreambuilder’s proprietary, asset management platform. Peter is also Chairman of the upcoming Distressed Resdiential Mortgage Summit to be held in New York on Sept 30th through October 1st.
