When Natasha Burnett and Viv Leacock work together, something special happens. Natasha and Viv play Minnie and Joseph Canfield on When Calls the Heart. The first Black family to feature prominently on When Calls the Heart, the Canfields arrived in Hope Valley a few seasons back and quickly became touchstones for many of the town's residents. Natasha and Viv are fun to watch, and they look like they're having fun working together. This fun can be seen in Legend of the Lost Locket, a film that is at once a rom-com and a mystery that spans the centuries. Natasha is Amelia, an antiques dealer from England desperate to complete the quest her late mother started to reunite two halves of a legendary locket. Amelia's quest takes her to America, to a sleepy town on the eve of its 200th anniversary, and straight into the path of the town's Sheriff, Marcus, played by Viv. Legend of the Lost Locket is currently streaming on Hallmark Movies Now, and will have its Hallmark Channel premiere on Saturday, April 13. In this fascinating conversation with Sabrina Rani Furminger, Natasha and Viv reflect on their journey to this moment, lost lockets, what to expect for Minnie and Joseph in season 11, what Peter DeLuise said that helped them make sense of the Canfields' presence in Hope Valley, their shared love of Columbo, and what it is that makes their collaboration work. Ground control to Colonel O'Neill! An excellent episode ripping off "Apollo 13" including obligatory "mission successful, throw your papers into the air at Mission Control" scene by legendary drama director Peter Deluise. Just great, great stuff, this one!

Original Date: November 25, 201345 complete trips around the sun ago, your friend in podcasting, Phil Leirness, was born. We here at YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour wish him Many Happy Returns and we’re celebrating with one of our funniest episodes ever.Long before Dean Haglund was the host of YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour and even before he was “Langly” on a certain television series, Dean was “Spock” in a long-running, live musical stage version of “Star Trek” in Vancouver, B.C. Like his Vulcan first officer, the “Kirk” from that show also went onto great success in a long-running sci-fi television franchise …Actor, writer, improv comic and voice artist Gary Jones is perhaps best known for playing “Sgt. Walter Harriman” on “Stargate SG-1”, “Stargate: Atlantis” and “SGU Stargate Universe”. For years, we’ve been trying to get him onto the show and schedules have never alligned. This week, we’ve got him on a long layover from Australia and he’s armed with hilarious stories about “Stargate”, Peter Deluise, Dean Haglund, Katharine Hepburn, Nick Nolte and there’s even an hilarious recurring joke about Rae Dawn Chong! What other show can claim that?!

If you possess even the most cursory knowledge of the Vancouver screen scene, the name Peter DeLuise evokes – well, something. Maybe it evokes the McQuaid Brothers, or more specifically Officer Doug Penhall, the character Peter played on 21 Jump Street. Maybe your thoughts bring you to the science fiction sphere, and to roles like that of the genetically engineered life form Dagwood on seaQuest DSV. Maybe you're a total Stargate stan and when you think of Peter, you think about him as a director, writer, producer, and creative consultant all over the Stargate 'verse – or maybe your tastes run a little more to family dramas and mysteries, and Peter has directed your favourite episode of When Calls the Heart, Chesapeake Shores, or Garage Sale Mysteries. Or maybe it's the last name – DeLuise, made famous by his funny father, the late, great actor and comedian Dom DeLuise, and carried on by Peter and his brothers David and Michael. But Peter is more than his evocative name and long list of credits. He's one of the most beloved and well-respected directors and actors in this city, with good reason – and in this special two-part episode of the YVR Screen Scene Podcast, Peter reflects on his journey in showbiz and the moviemaking lessons he's learned along the way. Ah, back in the simple times of the 1980s, when placing random characters in Africa was funny.  Back when Africa was funny enough on its own.  Throw in Dom DeLuise (father of 21 Jump Street star Peter DeLuise) and a naughty, talking monkey, played not by a real monkey but rather by a little person in a monkey suit, and well, frankly speaking, this is movie magic.  As usual, we ponder who was this movie made for?  We ask if staring at a wall for the same amount of time as the movie length would be time better spent?  This episode is our first one edited by a guest editor and listener.  I’d say this person did well!  AFRICA! The Give Me Five Podcast: An Uncultured Look at Pop Culture and Nostalgia

Rob fondly remembers something from his childhood, and for once it's not the redhead babysitter that gave him a bath when he was 7. It was a fun Halloween made for TV movie calls The Midnight Hour, starring LeVar Burton, Shari Belafonte, Peter DeLuise, Dick Van Patten and a bunch of other people you probably remember. In this film a town is curse with a large variety of monsters and theres even a tragic ghost wandering around.  We would also be remiss if we didn't mention American Horror Story: 1984 which, like us, is straight out of the 80's.  And because I'm obsessed with cooking shows, Good Eats: The Return gets a quick review as well.  You might realize that we didn't mention Jimmy, he was away this week, and was replaced by Greg doing a terrible inaccurate impression of him.  And of course our question of the week: What are the top 5 made for TV movies? Welcome back Ghouls and Boils to our 2nd annual Cult Film Club Halloween Special. This year Jaime, Paxton and Shawn are covering their first made-for-TV cult flick, the 1985 ABC Special Presentation of The Midnight Hour! Starring Lee Montgomery, Shari Belafonte, LeVar Burton, Peter DeLuise, Dedee Pfeifer, Kevin McCarthy, and Jonelle Allen, the film centers on five teens on Halloween in the city of Pitchford Cove. After breaking into a local museum to “borrow” some 300 year-old costumes and a trunk full of spooky artifacts for their Halloween party the kids inadvertently invoke a centuries old curse that opens the gates of hell and brings a horde of the living dead, monsters and ghosts descending upon the town. Can Phil and his lovely ghost girlfriend Sandy stop their murderous rampage before the bell tolls the Midnight Hour?!? In this episode we dig into the film, discussing the great Halloween ambiance, the classic rock soundtrack, the 80s era homages, and our favorite characters and actors.
