Riker feels your pain in “Silicon Avatar.” It's another all-new episode of ST:TNGeez Not Another Star Trek Podcast and it's coming at you right about . . . What starts as a lovely day on a beautiful new colony quickly becomes a terrifying race for survival as Riker and the Away Team are helping to settle Melona IV when the Crystalline Entity strikes! Remember the Crystalline Entity from season one's “Datalore”? It's back and cock- blocking Riker! The Enterprise D decides it's finally time to do something about this genocidal snowflake, and welcomes Dr. Kila Marr, a Xenologist and expert on ole Crysty. Seems the doctor has issues with Data because her beloved son, Renny, was killed when Crysty destroyed Omicron Theta at the behest of Data's errant twin Lore. She gets over it once she realizes all her hate is being spewed in futility. It also helps that Data has a repository of her son's journals in his computerized noggin. Soon the two are working together to find Crysty and confront it once and for all, but to what end? Seems Picard wants to chat with the thing while Dr. Marr wants to pop a cap in this punk ass entity once and for all. Awkward! Will Picard be able to convince everyone that Crysty deserves a chance? Will Dr. Marr take a chill pill and learn to love the alien? Will Riker ever get another chance at the late colonist's promise of dessert? Chasing Tone - Guitar Podcast About Gear, Effects, Amps and Tone
Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 552 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - I never fell in love with a pedal like I fell in love with this one... Richard has been trying to buy the hottest tickets in town - the last ever Black Sabbath concert (well, since their last final concert) - and was miserable and somewhat flummoxed with the results. The guys duly discuss what might be the most amazing rock concert this decade and Brian and Blake stage an intervention for Richard. There is some Super Bowl talked but mainly from the perspective of a confused Englishman. Jack White made a statement about performance length reality vs. expectations and it generated some controversy so the guys chat about it. Brian has some advice that may involve throwing pedals at artists. He also has some practical tips for gigging guitarists which he details as the guys look at the differences in their own individual approaches to learning. Blake is still in love with his Wampler EGO 76 so the guys talk about it again and everyone agrees it is a wonderful pedal. Things turn a little weird before focus is returned to an article about the state of the pedal industry and the return of the Portland Cube...Gentle Ben, Fantasy Halftime, Catapulpacomb, Travis Feaster, The Shaggs...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Course, Merch and DIY mods:https://www.guitarpedalcourse.com/https://www.wamplerdiy.com/Find us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show

In this episode, Josh opined that Tina Turner's calves should qualify her as an athlete, we discuss at length the sad history of child stardom that led Gentle Ben down a dark path (re: Cocaine Bear), it was discovered that David played the electric triangle (with a crank) with rockabilly pioneer Gene Vincent (Whooo?!), and Ede tricked all of us into singing for zero bonus points. #gentleben #cocainebear #90s #tinaturner #electrictriangle #genevincent #zerobonuspoints https://dobosdelights.com/ Promo Code: CheckYourTaint https://www.patreon.com/benchwarmerstp https://www.facebook.com/benchwarmerstp https://www.twitter.com/benchwarmerstp https://www.instagram.com/benchwarmerstp/ https://www.teepublic.com/stores/benchwarmers-trivia-podcast
Is the stadium a stealth fortress? Maybe! Billie, Lauren and Rosa enjoy another thumping home win with flowers for Sarr, Solanke and PFA players rep, Gentle Ben (of course). We ponder the lineup for Galatasaray away (welcome to hell, Will Lankshear?) and wonder if Ipswich at home is actually a big mentality test (yes). We give our verdict on a very ropey but crucial win for the women against West Ham, and pray that we get out of the Etihad alive. Plus! The North American Porcupine is a member of the rodent family that has around 30,000 quills on its body. Each of these quills can be driven into an enemies' body, inflicting tremendous pain. Sometimes the wounds can fester, occasionally even to the point of being fatal. The porcupine is not regarded as a loving animal. The latin name for porcupine means “the irritable back.” Porcupines seems to have two emotions when it comes to other animals, fear and anger. Books and movies celebrate almost any animal you can think, not just dogs and cats and horses, but even pigs (Arnold Ziffel, Babe), spiders (Charlotte's Web), dolphins (Flipper), bears (Gentle Ben, Smoky the Bear) and killer whales (Free Willy). Skunks even get some love in the form of Pepe Le Pew. But I don't know of any famous porcupines or of even one child who has one. As a general rule, porcupines are solitary and have one of two methods for handling relationships: withdrawal and attack. Porcupines don't always want to be alone. In late autumn, a young porcupine's thoughts turn to love. But love turns out to be a risky business when you are a porcupine. Every porcupines' dilemma is this: How do you get close without getting hurt? Turns out, porcupines aren't the only ones who have that dilemma in relationships. This is our dilemma too. Every one of us carries around with us an arsenal of barbs and quills. Our barbs have names like anger, rejection, comparison, condemnation, resentment, arrogance, selfishness, envy, and contempt. We respond to those barbs exactly like the porcupine does, with either withdrawal or attack. Attack and withdrawal are practiced by every human being on earth, and every single time they damage a relationship, a marriage, a family, a workplace, or a church. The problem is that withdrawal and attack both violate the great command of Jesus to love. When I withdraw, I am unable to love, and when I attack, I am unwilling to love. Join us this weekend as we discuss the importance of community for anyone who would call themselves a Christian.

The Jersey Shore Morning Show With Lou and Shannon On Demand
I've been blessed to talk to some incredible people lately, and this man is no exception! I got to speak with actor Clint Howard ahead of his upcoming multi-episode guest appearance on the CBS soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful." You can see Clint Howard play the mysterious homeless man Tom on CBS on April 26th and 29th 1:30 EST. You'll recognize Clint from projects such as "Apollo 13," "The Waterboy," "Star Trek," "Austin Powers," "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" and more! And yes, if you were wondering, Clint is a part of that Howard family in Hollywood. He is the younger brother to actor and director Ron Howard, and uncle to actor and director Bryce Dallas Howard. From his acting debut at age two on "The Andy Griffith Show" to his first lead role in the TV series "Gentle Ben," including roles throughout so many blockbuster films, art-house films, ever-popular cult horror films, and valued comedies, with a rare voice adding life to multiple characters of Disney, Clint Howard is an iconic Hollywood Legend who is ever solid, energetic, and always readily prepared to contribute his talents. He is one of very few if any who has had a unique five-generation Star Trek run, including episodes in "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds", "Star Trek: Discovery," "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," "Star Trek: Enterprise," all the way to "Star Trek: The Original Series." He is also one of the few actors to have acted in both Star Trek and Star Wars. You may remember, In 2012, he appeared as Hurst Romodi in a commercial for the video game Kinect Star Wars. Six years later, he had a brief role as Ralakili in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Clint Howard has played such a variety of roles ready to take on any acting challenge. He is the ultimate chameleon of television and film. Clint has played a variety of characters over the years in several classic films along with hundreds of other titles through his 60 years of acting. He has consistently worked well alongside Hollywood's fellow top actors throughout the decades, and has fully committed himself to every character in parts large and small. He has carried unique roles echoing through the generations in some of Hollywood's most memorable roles, still driving forth full steam ahead, ready to take on his next acting persona.

Spurs might not be particularly good, but at least we're not West Ham bad. Billie, Charlie, Rosa and (especially) Tom celebrate a nicely straightforward 2-0 home win full of heartwarming moments for Hometown Glory favourites—and give Cristian Stellini his tactical flowers. Attentions then turn to another big London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as we wonder if we'll ever have a better chance to see off Chelsea (and if so, why are we all quite so nervous about this game?). There's also a Cup game for Spurs Women to preview, plus an award-winning rant about the Eveliina Summanen-Ella Toone “fuckery”. Oh, and culture picks! Lovely culture picks! Robert W. Morgan entered the film business sideways. As the director to the 7 month-long 1974 American Yeti Expeditions as cosponsored through the National Wildlife Federation and supported by the 17-member Science Advisory Board of the American Anthropological Research Foundation, he appeared as himself for the televised Smithsonian series Monsters: Myth or Mystery and a Bostonian Films feature-length docudrama. Much of his unprecedented successes resulted from the advice and counsel of Native American elders who shared their legends as recounted in his nonfiction work, The Soul Snatchers as published by Pine Winds Press. The nationwide publicity surrounding Morgan's adventures attracted the attention of Bill Grefe, the president of Miami's Ivan Tors Studios (Sea Hunt, Gentle Ben, Flipper, etc.). Robert provided Grefe with outlines to his future adventures in a film proposal entitled In Search of the World's Mysteries that evolved into Leonard Nimoy's popular TV series In Search Of …. Grefe encouraged Morgan to study screenwriting by working as a crewmember and a bit player in the feature film Impulse with William Shatner and Goldfinger's famous Harold Oddjob SakataStill a neophyte in the ways of Hollywood where iron-clad contracts are necessary to protect intellectual properties from idea-pirates, Morgan's first-draft screenplays evolved into the disastrous Mako: the Jaws of Death and Lucky Lady with Burt Reynolds, Liza Minnelli, and Gene Hackman. Furious, Robert forced Grefe to use a pseudonym on Mako. Robert was then recruited by Miami's Creative Film & Sound to write, co-produce, direct and co-star in its feature film, The Night Daniel Died. No one realized until years later they had made what became cult-classic film, Bloodstalkers. In 2008 alone, Morgan autographed 186 DVDs for domestic and international fans of the action/mystery/horror film aficionados. Not bad for a 30 year-old film. One would think this would launch a new career - and it certainly did, but not as he had planned. With the successful release of Bloodstalkers, the recently paroled CIA spy Frank A. Sturgis (Watergate) approached him to work with the award-winning book author Oscar Fraley about Sturgis' life as a CIA operative. Fraley certainly had the credentials: he had authored 31 books including Hoffa: the Real Story and The Untouchables, a work that sold 1.5 million copies and was made into both a television series and a movie. Robert quickly penned a combined book and film proposal he entitled The Sturgis Files: Lies Our Fathers Told Us. However, before he could swing into action in Florida, Morgan was approached by a private group and offered the opportunity to write and direct a series of adventure films for a studio his group would build for him in Panama. This location would be perfect not only for The Sturgis Files but for three additional properties Morgan had developed. Josef Shaftel, the producer of The Naked Hills, The Sell Out, Alice in Wonderland, Gulliver's Travels, etc., arrived from England to introduce Morgan to Hollywood's Richard Fleischer, the director of Tora! Tora! Tora!, Barabbas, Fantastic Voyage, Mr. Majestik, The Boston Strangler, etc. Shaftel and Fleischer had read three of Robert's screenplays and had agreed to the venture. Morgan appeared to be on top of the world - until he discovered the financiers for his films were major Mafia narcotics smugglers his films would be used as a money-laundering scheme devised by the infamous gangster Meyer Lansky. Robert did the unexpected. He gathered detailed information - people, places, actions, documentation - before alerting federal authorities. He then volunteered to work undercover for them for expenses only. What was his motivation? He knew dope peddlers were targeting the playground where his 11 year-old daughter attended school. When the local cop-shop turned a blind eye, Robert decided to extract his own revenge. Forgetting the corner dealer; he went after the big boys and became their constant companion for over three years. - http://www.robertwmorgan-alive.com/To listen to all our XZBN shows, with our compliments go to: https://www.spreaker.com/user/xzoneradiotv*** AND NOW ***The ‘X' Zone TV Channel on SimulTV - www.simultv.comThe ‘X' Chronicles Newspaper - www.xchroniclesnewspaper.com

Born: Panama Canal Zone 1956 Hometown: Sierra Vista, AZ Occupation: Career Musician, Organ/keyboards, Entertainer, Composer, Recording Artist, Studio Engineer Experience: 40 years Self Taught Lamont Arthur has been playing, composing and teaching jazz in Tucson for the last three decades. Born in Panama, the son of an army soldier, Lamont found himself growing up at Ft. Huachuca in Southern Arizona. At the age of 12 he became aware of his passion for music. He learned to play the Glockenspiel from his 6th grade music teacher Mrs. Smith. He turned his musical attention to the Hammond B-3 organ and played in mixed-ethnic rock and country groups at places like the Blue Room and Carr Canyon Corral in Sierra Vista. By the late seventies he had moved to Tucson and began playing with groups like Street Pajama, Rapid Transit, Bloolyte, Bondavi and legendary blues-man Sam Taylor to name just a few. He began playing gigs at many of the clubs in Tucson; the Pirates Den, Fun Factory, Bobby McGee's, The Doubletree, Nino's, Gentle Ben's and Merlin's. The scene was very open and loose at that time and his ability to play the Hammond B-3 allowed him to crossover as well and play blues, reggae, latin and gospel. His love for jazz music prompted him to take the jazz improvisation class at Pima Community College under the tutelage of sax man Mike Kuhn and he was asked to assist him with some of the more novice musicians. This, was the turning point for what would become his passion to be a mentor and a better jazz musician. Not only as a keyboardist but as a jazz scat vocalist as well.. For a 7 year stint ('93-2000) he played in a keyboard/guitar duo with Phil Davis named L.A.P.D. at Sakura Japanese Restaurant. They reached a cult status with their penchant for playing standards and uptempo barn-burners then turning things right around to play cumbias or R&B dance tunes. Legions of Tucson-ans flocked to Sakura for their performances. During his career Lamont has tried to give back to the community through his gift of music. He has performed for the Tucson Jazz Society, the Oro Valley Jazz Festival, the Jazz Guild of Tucson, and the Rising Star Baptist Church.. He has collaborated with Tucson Jazz fixtures such as pianist Dan "Sly" Slipetsky, trumpeter Tony Frank, trombonist Rob Boone, bassist Elliot "Kirk" Kuykendal and drummer Gil Rodriguez. He has also been involved in many recording endeavors and has a gospel/Christian CD of all original songs on itunes entitled: "It's Time For Knowing". Over the last several years he has been mentoring a stable of young musicians. One is currently enrolled at the Arizona Jazz Academy. Often he will get a student who is classically trained and Lamont puts it on himself to get them to "get off the sheet" and use their hearts and ears to bring out the music that dwells within them. He has also mentored many musicians within the church. Having not been mentored himself as a young music- ian he feels that being a mentor is a great way to give the younger musicians a head start and leave a continuing musical legacy especially for the future "serious jazz musicians". Lamont had to move back to Sierra Vista to be closer to his mother. He has been an unsung hero in the Tucson Jazz Community and the JJA for 2012 would be a fitting way to acknowledge his humble persona and love of music. Beyond the Music; Jake

Trains, planes, and UFOs. Granger Taylor was a bright and shy young man. Known to his friends as "Gentle Ben," he was a great friend. He was a wizard mechanic, but soon found that the machines of Earth weren't quite enough for him. So Granger did what any typical person would do when bored--found a way to contact aliens and have them invite him on a 42-month interstellar journey. Did Granger actually enter a spaceship back on the night of November 29, 1980 and travel across space? Or did something much more tragic happen to this gentle giant? They fondly recall how their midwestern parents helped them pursue their dreams in showbusiness while always keeping them grounded. Ron shares some crucial advice that his dad gave Andy Griffith about the relationship between Andy and Opie, and how Ron later channelled his father's strong will when he had stand up for himself during his time on Happy Days. Clint discusses his following in father's footsteps as a working character actor, and why his dad was the best acting coach that he and Ron could have asked for. Plus they have some sage advice for pushy stage parents and showbiz kids. Order Ron and Clint's new book The Boys: A Memoir of Hollywood and Family on Amazon, Audible, or wherever books are sold. - http://www.robertwmorgan-alive.com/ To listen to all our XZBN shows, with our compliments go to: https://www.spreaker.com/user/xzoneradiotv *** AND NOW *** The ‘X' Zone TV Channel on SimulTV - www.simultv.com The ‘X' Chronicles Newspaper - www.xchroniclesnewspaper.com

We also update you on the most popular team of the Law & Order draft, and return to the topic of Netflix's Making A Murderer to discuss whether it's worse than jazz (uh, in the sense, this time, of more infuriating and upsetting, of course). Around The Dial makes stops at Call The Midwife, Last Tango In Halifax, The Art Of More, and the forthcoming Lucifer. Joe dials in to present his case for inducting Enlightened's "Consider Helen" into the Canon. Finally, after naming the week's Winner and Loser, we dig into a Game Time everyone's dying to play. Grab a glass or twelve of champagne and join us! GUESTS
