We're back! it's 2025 and to kick things off, James Norton and Niamh Algar join us to chat all things Playing Nice on ITV (26:05). But that's not all, because ITV also brings us this week's Wales-set drama Out There (1:00:48) with Martin Clunes. We hop back both to the birth of the Wild West and to last week, when American Primeval debuted on Netflix (51:32), but none of that can possibly match the excitement surrounding the return of Severance (1:11:19), which finally returns to Apple TV+ for a second season three years in the making. Can it live up to the show's critically acclaimed debut? Listen and find out. (Episode 319)Note: time stamps are approximate as the ads throw them out, so are only meant as a guide. Victims groomed and raped by gangs have told the BBC's Senior UK Correspondent Sima Kotecha that they are adamant the crime is still happening to girls across the country. Yesterday, a Tory amendment to the government's Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill, which wanted a national inquiry into grooming gangs, was voted down. Krupa Padhy talks to Sima and Simon Morton, a former senior investigating officer for Thames Valley Police, about what is known about how these gangs operate.Playing Nice, a new ITV drama, tells the story of two couples who discover their toddlers were accidentally swapped at birth. Actor Niamh Algar, who plays one of the mothers, and Grace Ofori-Attah, who wrote the script for the small screen, join Krupa to talk about the moral and ethical issues within the series, and why they hope it will spark a conversation. Two women who've developed a firm friendship through a shared experience of having a rare eye cancer join Krupa to talk about the incredible bond they have forged. Ocular melanoma affects only five in a million people but Tessa Wingfield-Parry and Joanna Denman, who happen to live just around the corner from each other, both were diagnosed. They talk about how they met, the impact the disease has had on their lives, and how they've discovered they've got a lot more in common than just their cancer.Whilst doing her Masters at the University of Cambridge, Times writer Tyler Bennett earnt extra money on the side writing erotica. Having cracked the code to a good steamy story, she joins Krupa along with the Man Booker shortlisted author Sarah Hall to discuss the genre, breaking taboos and erotica's ability to empower.Presenter: Krupa Padhy Producer: Rebecca Myatt

Dawn and Sarah join Matt to talk about the best Christmas TV and review the first 4 new shows of the new year. Firstly, Sky and Peacock bring us Colin Firth in a harrowing retelling of one man's search for answers following the Lockerbie disaster. Then, James Norton stars as a father who learns he may have brought the wrong baby home from the hospital in ITV's melodramatic airport novel Playing Nice. Then, Channel 4 adapts French drama Astrid: A Murder in Paris, transporting the story of an autistic woman who works in the police records office from Paris to York. The results are mixed to be kind and mind-numbing to be truthful. Finally, the BBC helps fight off the January Blues with the return of The Traitors. All three podcast hosts are already hooked.

Without a doubt, he's one of the most fascinating artists on the rock timeline. In fact, Alice Cooper has done such an incredible job of making sure that rock has an enduring spectacle element to it, of being kind of the embodiment of the freaky side of rock, that it's hard to imagine that there wasn't ever an Alice Cooper on stage somewhere, snakes, guillotines, electric chairs and all. But of course there was, and it took a while for Alice Cooper's brand of entertainment to catch hold. When the Billion Dollar Babies album was released in 1973, Alice Cooper topped the charts, the world finally catching up with the idea that glam rock could be the vehicle for a brutal caricature, a theatrical madman, an entertainer who has also come to be known as one of the nicest guys in rock. So it's funny that one of the hits on that album is about not playing nice anymore in favor of letting one's freak flag fly. Jason Schreier, Bloomberg journalist and author of the new book Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment, joins Roth to talk about what's been going on with the company that makes Warcraft and Overwatch. Along with Defector comrade Luis Paez-Pumar, they discuss what the story of Blizzard means for the story of gaming as a whole and the similarities between media companies and games companies, especially when comparing Blizzard and G/O Media. Don't worry, they balance it out by naming so many guys who were on the Jets and Nets in the 2000s and diving into the Funbag.Do you want to hear your question answered on the pod? Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's split started messy, but then got a little bit of a clean-up. Daily Leadership Challenges and Tips We hope you enjoy these daily leadership tips and challenges. Our hope is that these tips and challenges will motivate you, make you think, provide you with actionable steps, bring your team together, make your team more productive and profitable, and generally keep you interested in continually learning about leadership, because leadership is a life-long learning process. This show is brought to you by The Current Leadership Coaching Team or CLC Team, and we offer a variety of ways for you to continually have leadership training and development. Our primary focus is on team leaders; specifically, leaders in the manufacturing industry who have multiple leaders they work with while leading their own teams both independently and in conjunction with other teams within the same organization (either at one large site or in separate locations). We have seen how different leaders within an organization can be leading their teams in vastly different ways, producing different results. We work to unify all of the leaders of an organization so that you have one big SUPERIOR Team, or a team that is Self-Aware, Unified, Persevering, Empowered, Relationally Safe, Intentional, Optimized, and Resourceful. The CLC Team accomplishes this is a variety of ways and by using various learning methods: - 3 to 4-hour workshops (on-site or online) - Online Leadership Community (weekly zoom calls that cover leadership topics) - The Complete Leadership Development System - Leadership Mastermind (online and annual event) Our Current Online Community for Leaders is currently open! The monthly price is $47 a month and this includes one weekly “live” zoom call, full access to our leadership library of video courses, full access to all the replays of prior zoom calls, and a private community to connect with other leaders! The biggest news item of the week is the left's baseless indictment of President Trump, an indictment that was ripped to shreds almost immediately after being released. They base the ability to indict Trump on the claims of violating some second law that they can't even identify and the one claim they do make with the business records is a stretch and well past any statute of limitations. Even if there was any truth to it, the indictment attempted to create a felony out of what amounts to a parking ticket. In the latter half of the episode, I start talking about how we can take back the schools and stop the let's indoctrination/ideological subversion tactics. I discuss how to do so in areas where we control the legislative branch as well as the Govornerships, where we have supermajorities in the state legislatures, and most importantly where we have the executive branch and don't need the state legislature to act. The left has been brainwashing kids for a long time now, and even taking immediate action will still leave so hardship and dangers to democracy as all the currently brainwashed students become old enough to vote, but starting now will safeguard the future to turn the tides back to liberty exposing the left for who and what they truly are. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thejacobjohnstonshow/message

This week on the Uncharted Podcast, Dr. Andy Roark and practice manager Stephanie Goss are tackling a question Andy was asked about working together with our (local) competition. A manager in a rural/remote area is wanting to connect with other managers. It seems the veterinarians in the area don't all get along and see no reason to work together. These managers are looking at it from a different lens and wondering "Isn't there a point to us working together?" and better yet, they are asking "how do we explain this to the vets who don't agree with us?" Let's get into this... LINKS Upcoming events: unchartedvet.com/upcoming-events/ Getting the Most Out of Your Relief Vet Relationships Dr. Maggie Brown-Bury is a relief veterinarian in Canada and she is already booked for all of 2023.
