Arthur's third grade class is shocked when they discover that Mr. Ratburn is getting married. When they overhear Mr. Ratburn talking about a wedding with a woman named Patty, the kids worry that he's marrying someone even tougher than he is!

It's the hottest school day of the year and tempers are even hotter! The tension comes to a head when Mr. Ratburn moves Brain and Arthur away from their usual desks and sets off the most dramatic desk war in third grade history!

Mr. Ratburn is acting strangely, and Arthur, Buster, and Brain are worried. The kids work together to get to the bottom of Mr. Ratburn's odd behavior!

Arthur is surprised when he and Brain are chosen to represent Mr. Ratburn's class in the school-wide spellathon. Arthur didn't study! How will he be able to compete against the smartest kid in the school and last year's reigning champ?
