Claudine Land is a Business Strategist and the owner of Virtual Ingenuity, LLC. After 20+ years in the healthcare industry as a Marketing and Pharmaceutical Rep, Health Educator, Grant Writer, and Field Operations Rep in Prescription Monitoring, she took ten years off to be a stay-at-home mom.While her children were in Elementary school, she decided that she wanted to get back into the working world, have the flexibility to attend her children's school events and have a career in which there were no salary caps placed on her since she always had a knack for leading her region in sales. Claudine founded Virtual Ingenuity, LLC in December of 2017 to provide resources and motivate health adjacent businesses, across time zones, to reach their full potential. She knew that if Apple could do it remotely, then she would as well!Being from Jamaica, West Indies, and part of a line of business owners in her family, Claudine was instilled in the value of entrepreneurship, persistence, and tenacity. Failure is not an option. She utilized my 20+ years of grant writing, marketing, and project management in the healthcare industry and public relations sector. This enabled her to interact effortlessly with physicians, develop a keen ear for client needs, pay significant attention to detail, and develop notable organizational skills. Skills that she often got teased for when she attended school in the United States.Claudine's vast experience provided her with a client base that includes private enterprises in various industries. Her tenacity was useful when she worked at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences when she was asked by the principal investigator of a grant to review it because he wanted to submit it for funding to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). After reviewing the grant, Claudine tore it up and re-wrote it within a couple of days, writing herself into the grant as program manager. She then submitted the grant to him and he was flabbergasted. He submitted it to NIH and it was funded. This solidified her position within the University for two more years! Her tenacity paid off!It's the same tenacity that Claudine instills in each client to lead them to success. It's the same tenacity that enabled her to create The Virtual Ingenuity Business Podcast. What I wish I knew sooner that 39 years has taught me. 1) It's about them not about you.  Marketing, emails, speaking would have gone so much better so much sooner had I realized this. Heck, teaching at the university would have gone better because that too is selling from the minute they step foot in that classroom to the minute they turn in the final exam.  2) As soon as you start listening to your heart, things will fall into place much faster and doors will open for you that wouldn't open for anyone else. Connecting your mind and heart, or your “gut” are big keys to success in business. You know the right thing to do.. Just remind yourself of that.  3) When you are triggered by people or circumstances, or you're uncomfortable... what it means is you recognize parts of yourself that you don't like. There's a measure of truth to it for you that hits too close to home.  4) When you have things you just "have" to do... "have to eat" "have to exercise" .... they are running the show and not you.  5) There will always be hard things, if you build it that way.  If you don't start with the idea that there are things only you can do and identify them, you're identifying the things you can first hand off to someone else. For the freedom you want this is a must. 6) Consistently -doing the right thing - pays off.  Do any of these things I wish I knew sooner resonate with you? Jill K DeWit: I know. Steven Jack Butala: The real question is great, 90% of millionaires own real estate, and I think we all are familiar with this type of concept one way or another. The question is, how did they start? I can answer that and we're going to talk about it. The answer is one deal at a time. Jill K DeWit: I wonder how many of those people, this is the majority of what got them there. You know what I'm saying? Did they have another business and then they branched? Because some people have other businesses and then they realize what's possible in real estate and then they get into real estate. And some people, fortunately enough, started just in real estate, like you, and took that to the moon. Steven Jack Butala: I've always wondered that too. I don't know if it's a result of creating wealth somewhere else. I bet- Jill K DeWit: There you go. Steven Jack Butala: ... it's probably 50/50. But in the end, what we do, real estate was just a vehicle. We started a company. It's starting companies and creating something and then plowing money into other things.
