For the final episode in the Queer Classics program, Katharine picks the 1959 queer killers story Compulsion, based upon the real-life Leopold and Loeb case. Of course she, Joshua, and Andrew couldn't help but go into the other Leopold and Loeb-inspired films, Alfred Hitchcock's Rope and Tom Kalin's Swoon, also covered here. First up is a killer of a different kind in Osgood Perkins' Longlegs. For this Now Showing segment, the Take-Uppers go long (spoilers from 11:45-28:20) on Mr. Downstairs. Finally, they've got One More Thing with Paula Prentiss, Riddance, and Alt Shift X explainers for you House of the Dragon fans. Queer Classic Summer is over and next up is the Contemporary Costumes program. Fear not, however, since Joshua's pick of Crimes of Passion keeps things boiling hot! Until then, please share, subscribe, and review! Read on at TheTake-Up.com and follow us @thetakeupstl on Instagram, Twitter, Letterboxd, and Facebook. Israel has made some big mistakes by the time we get to 1 Samuel 7. Will they learn from their mistakes, or perpetuate them? Will they truly repent, or will they turn to faithlessness and fear at the first sign of trouble? And what does repentance look like, anyway?Time to take a leisurely stroll through the monument to God's deliverance that is 1 Samuel 7. Take your time and read the signs, and pore over the details, and remember that we are not so different from Israel after all.------------------------------------------------------Features "Forever", by Chris TomlinCCLI Song # 3148428© 2001 sixsteps Music (Admin. by Capitol CMG Publishing)worshiptogether.com songs (Admin. by Capitol CMG Publishing)Features "Be Thou My Vision", by Eleanor Henrietta Hull and Mary Elizabeth ByrneCCLI Song # 30639Words & Music: Public DomainCCLI License # 1251412Clyde Christian Bible Church does not own the rights to any songs featured in this podcast, nor are we profiting off their use. Media elites on the right are at it again. They're cheering the demise of Bill O'Reilly? Conservative media elites never liked him, so they gladly handed him over to his attackers. His crime? He connected with flyover country like their pointy-headed purity polishing never could, so they say, "Good riddance." He won't be the last to be attacked. Who's next, and will the right wing gentry cut and run again? Is safety vs. free speech a false alternative? When campuses uninvite conservative speakers, they reason they always give is that they can't guarantee security. In Oakland, persons engaging in assault are often college faculty and staff. Even the Mayor of Oakland is affiliated with an Antifa splinter group called BAMN, The Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action, Integration & Immigrant Rights, and Fight for Equality By Any Means Necessary. It's an anti-Trump group and the Mayor, who is charged with keeping order, is part of it. Are you starting to think Starbucks creates ill will on social media knowing they win in the end? This week they introduced a short-run Unicorn Frappuccino. It's coloring is, well, gay. Taste testers say it reminds them of stale cake and even some baristas are publicly complaining. The good news is, the drink is only being served through Sunday. What did they hope to accomplish with such kamikaze branding? LIVE SATURDAY 7AM PST/10AM EST. The Original and Classic Gang of 405!
