This week's episode of Parsing Immigration Policy focuses on the re-opening of ICE's Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) office. Originally established by the Trump administration in 2017 to provide critical support to victims and families affected by crimes linked to illegal immigration, the VOICE office was shut down by the Biden administration, but has been reinstated by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.ImageGuest host Jessica Vaughan, Director of Policy Studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, is joined by two parents who lost their children to crimes committed by illegal aliens. They share their personal stories and experiences, highlighting how the VOICE office provided them with support and resources.Don Rosenberg, President of Advocates for Victims of Illegal Alien Crime (AVIAC), whose son Drew was killed by an unlicensed illegal immigrant in a hit-and-run crash.Tammy Nobles, mother of Kayla Hamilton, a 20-year-old autistic woman who was raped and murdered by an MS-13 gang member illegally present in the U.S.Vaughan then highlights Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy's warning to federal highway fund recipients: comply with federal immigration law or risk losing funding. On his list of public safety concerns: states that issue driver's licenses to illegal aliens. Nineteen states and the District of Columbia presently issue licenses to this population.Rosenburg, the president of AVIAC and an activist focused on unlicensed drivers and road safety, discusses his research into the impact of this policy, stating that there is no evidence that providing driver's licenses to illegal aliens improves road safety. In fact, he shares data showing that fatal crashes rise, as do hit-and-runs, in the first few years after such a policy is implemented.HostJessica Vaughan is the Director of Policy Studies at the Center for Immigration Studies.GuestsDon Rosenberg, President of Advocates for Victims of Illegal Alien Crime (AVIAC), whose son Drew was killed by an unlicensed illegal immigrant in a hit-and-run crash.Tammy Nobles, mother of Kayla Hamilton, a 20-year-old autistic woman who was raped and murdered by an MS-13 gang member illegally present in the U.S.RelatedVictims and Their Families Finally Get a VOICESilencing VOICE: Despite being shuttered by Biden, the need for ICE's victim-assistance office is greater than everVOICE websiteAVIAC: Advocates For Victims of Illegal Alien CrimeIntro MontageVoices in the opening montage:Sen. What happens when life knocks you down—hard? Jothy Rosenberg knows. By the time he was 19, he had lost a leg, a lung, and was told he wouldn't survive. Instead, he went on to ski 100 days straight, start nine companies, write books, and launch a nonprofit that's changing kids' lives. In this episode, we talk about resilience, the brutal realities of entrepreneurship, and why building self-esteem is everything. If you're an entrepreneur (or just someone who's been told “you can't”), this one's for you.
In this episode, I take a few minutes to discuss the good, bad, and ugly from my recent survival at Long Haul 100. Then I jump into a very interesting interview with Doug Rosenberg of Mount to Coast shoe company. Mount to Coast came on the ultra-running scene last Spring with 2 models of road shoes, a racer and a trainer. They've since introduced a third model and have a trail shoe in the works. They have new technology in the foam and stability system that makes it a very durable, lightweight, and comfortable running shoe designed to go beyond the normal distance of competitive brands. Mount to Coast came highly recommended by a few friends and guests of the show and it's still early for me. but I really like them. Check out the interview and give them a try if you're interested. In this new episode of the mnemonic security podcast, Robby Peralta is joined by Leonid Rosenburg, a cybersecurity expert and dark web researcher at Hudson Rock, to discuss infostealers. Rosenburg provides a brief history of infostealers, which began with Zeus in 2007, a malware initially designed to steal only banking information. Today, infostealers have evolved to capture all types of personal and sensitive data, including passwords, cookies, and cryptocurrency information. Infostealer malware can be bought on the dark web as a turnkey solution, or "mass malware as a service," for as little as $99 per month.Rosenburg emphasises the importance of cybersecurity education and debunks common misconceptions about antivirus protection, complex passwords, and multi-factor authentication. He also highlights the ongoing threat of infostealers and their adaptability in bypassing security measures.

Meet writer, editor, children's book reviewer, and essayist for "Only the Lover Sings" Théa Rosenberg. Théa chose the song "The Well" from the album and wrote a wonderful essay called "Below the Tideline". In it, she tells the story of a walk with her daughter beside the vast ocean, reflecting that Jesus brings us those unknowable waters in a way we can know: as a Well. “Outputs for clients are far more important than our temporary discomfort. You've got to get through tough times.” -Zack Rosenburg Episode Description: It's impossible to look at the devastation brought by wildfires and not be overwhelmed with sadness. It's a natural tendency to want to beat yourself up when things aren't going well. And while it is heartbreaking to realize that the ongoing recovery will last years, we shouldn't lose hope. There's a reason that people rebuild in the wake of natural disasters — they want to stay in a community they love, so they make the commitment to persevere through the turbulence of disaster recovery and make something beautiful out of it. Disasters can be overwhelming and the path to recovery is often fraught with challenges and roadblocks. Listen in as Jennifer and SBP co-founder, Zack Rosenburg explore the concept of constructive discontent and how it can help you push through the turbulence of disaster recovery. They also discuss the role of a nonprofit in disaster, how to manage limited resources, the socio-economic and racial equity implications with regards to resilience funds, and the importance of YOKOTEN, a Japanese term referring to the value of sharing. Outlook greatly impacts recovery. With the right attitude and perseverance, you can not only get through the disaster faster but also come out stronger on the other side.
