On the 68th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest, SIOL Hall Of Famer, the host of Trunk Nation on SiriusXM, the Eddie Trunk Podcast, That Metal Show, the one and only Eddie Trunk to review the 1976 classic rock album from Rainbow, "Rising." Rainbow's Rising was the 2nd studio album by Rainbow, the band that guitar god Ritchie Blackmore formed when he left Deep Purple. This album saw a whole new band, with the exception of the legendary Ronnie James Dio on vocals. Jimmy Bain joined on bass, Tony Carey on keyboard and SIOL favorite Cozy Powell on drums. Rising not only continued where the debut album left off, but surpassed it by leaps and bounds. The musicianship, the lyrics and the neo-classical form of metal was unmatched. The whole band shined on this album, but especially, Dio, Blackmore and Powell. Though there are only six songs on the album, songs like Tarot Woman, Stargazer & Light In The Black which are classics which may never be topped. This was Zeus' pick. Amazon's first batch of internet satellites rocketed into orbit, the latest entry in the mega-constellation market currently dominated by SpaceX's thousands of Starlinks. The United Launch Alliance's Atlas V rocket carried up 27 of Amazon's Project Kuiper satellites, named after the frigid fringes of our solar system beyond Neptune. Once released in orbit, the satellites will eventually reach an altitude of nearly 400 miles (630 kilometers). Two test satellites were launched in 2023, also by an Atlas V. Project officials said major upgrades were made to the newest version. The latest satellites are also coated with a mirror film designed to scatter reflected sunlight in an attempt to accommodate astronomers. Stargazers oppose the fast-growing constellations of low-orbiting satellites, arguing they spoil observations. Others fear more satellite collisions. Founded by Jeff Bezos, who now runs his own rocket company, Blue Origin, Amazon aims to put more than 3,200 of these satellites into orbit to provide fast, affordable broadband service around the globe. Elon Musk's SpaceX has already launched more than 8,000 Starlinks since 2019. The company marked its 250th Starlink launch on the night of April 27. More than 7,000 Starlinks are still in orbit, some 300-plus miles (550 kilometers) above Earth. The European-based OneWeb satellite constellation numbers in the hundreds in an even higher orbit. Amazon has already purchased dozens of rocket launches from United Launch Alliance and Blue Origin for Project Kuiper, as well as others. "There are some things you can only learn in flight," despite extensive testing on the ground, said Rajeev Badyal, the project's vice president. Mary welcomes Dr. Danny Faulkner of Answers in Genesis to discuss the heavens and all that is in them. The Psalmist tells us that they declare the glory of God - and the God Who made them lives in the believer.  How can that not inspire awe all by itself? As a culture, going from the beginnings of the space race in the 1960s to today's complex telescopic arrays and the Hubble, we know more than ever about the heavens, vast and boundless. Looking up at the night sky, humans have been doing that from our own beginnings,  this connects us all across the millennia. Today we discuss astronomy, the science - what is it, how does it differ from other sciences? The Bible refers to the heavens over 700 times, so there should be no question as to how they came about, but the complexity, that's an endless subject. Auroras, nebula, galaxies and novas describe things and power far beyond our human comprehension. More glory than we can even consider, but we will try in this fascinating hour with Dr. Faulkner. Dr. Danny Faulkner holds an MS in physics from Clemson University, an MA and a PhD in astronomy from Indiana University, and he taught at the University of South Carolina—Lancaster for over 26 years. He has published over 100 papers in various journals. He works as a researcher, author, and speaker for Answers in Genesis. He also hosts Ark Encounter trips down to Red River Gorge (in eastern Kentucky), and Stargazer's Nights (at the Johnson Observatory); he also hosts Astronomy Live programs, and “The Skies Proclaim His Handiwork” workshops at the Creation Museum.
