Carl is a Paramedic and quality improvement lead-based in Sheffield working for the ambulance service. He has been a Paramedic for 10 years and has a 10-year extensive history of expeditions featuring multiple trips to Everest base camp, K2, Mongolia, South Africa, Swaziland, Kangchenjunga, Toubkal, Aconcagua, Pakistan, Oman and many more.  He has recently written a piece of reflection that is about to be published in the College of Paramedics Hindsight magazine. The piece is titled ‘Where critical analysis becomes critically unhealthy'. In this episode, we examine this article, Carl's motivations for writing it, and pull out some of the salient learning points. We examine some of the salient learning points around; unpacking the concept of disequilibrium in critical analysis that turns into critical self-appraisal. Also, examining the aspects of challenging debrief that leads to balanced learning and does not omit due affirmation. We also explore examples of where this has gone wrong in the past to put it into clinical context. Furthermore, we look at: 1. Why critical analysis is an important skill both empirically and anecdotally. 2. Bring into focus how to reframe challenging incidents to provide a net positive effect for the clinician. 3. Understand how damaging it can be when it is critical self-appraisal/appraisal by others. 4. Reframing techniques in debrief and reflection  5. He has recently written two pieces of reflection that have been published in the College of Paramedics INSIGHT magazine. These are ‘Normal or numb’ and ‘The second victim and me’. In this episode, we examine these articles, Carl’s motivations for writing them, and pull out some of the salient learning points for both pieces in this interview. In the interview, we explore; Carls journey into paramedicine in 2012 & navigating 9 years on the frontline of paramedic practice. We then explore why Carl decided to write the first piece ‘Normal or Numb’ and Carls perspectives the salient points of continual exposure to life and death on the frontline. We look at the second piece of reflection; ‘The second victim and me’ and unpack what is the second victim from both a clinical perspective and a psychological perspective. We look at the second and third-order effects of formal clinical investigation on staff and why it can be so stressful, impacting directly on contemporary practice. We complete the discussion by cataloguing the advantages of reflection on practice, the restoration of normality and the empathy that should be extended to any clinicians going through an internal or external investigation. Dans un troisième temps, l’émigration est horizontale pour hommes et femmes radicalisés vers un « état islamique » qui promet une sexualité halal et gratifiante pour tous.  Dans cet épisode, j’ai le plaisir d’interroger un des plus grands sociologues du monde arabe, j’ai nommé Professeur Abdessamad Dialmy. Il est docteur d’État, professeur d’université (émérite), expert international en santé sexuelle et intellectuel féministe engagé en faveur de la libération sexuelle. Il a publié une panoplie d’ouvrages fondateurs traitant de sexualité, de SIDA, de féminisme, de masculinité et de genre, et d’islam(isme). Au cours de son parcours, il a forgé des notions comme »féminisme soufi » (1991), « bricolage spatio-sexuel » (1997) et « explosion sexuelle » (2007). Il a enfin élaboré la théorie de la « transition sexuelle » (2007) pour comprendre l’état de la sexualité dans le monde arabo-musulman, une théorie qui déconstruit l’approche médiatique (qui utilise les prénotions d’hypocrisie et de schizophrénie) et l’approche islamiste (qui investit les prénotions de déviance, de chaos ou de retour à l’ignorance préislamique/jahiliya) de ladite sexualité. Dans cet épisode, la frustration habitationnelle, la frustration sexuelle et les islamismes sont étudiés dans un seul et même mouvement de savoir par Abdessamad Dialmy à travers une approche qui croise depuis 1995 sociologie, anthropologie, études de genre et de religion, architecture et urbanisme.  « Le droit à la ville, c’est le droit de l’individu à un espace privé où il peut vivre sa sexualité de manière paisible, c’est le droit à une chambre où la sexualité est vécue comme un droit humain fondamental inviolable.
