While all perspectives have been very unique, thoughtful and amazing in their own right, here is one of the most intriguing ones yet. Why? Have you ever thought about what a "chocolate" (aka black or African American) man who also happens to be a cop feels about George Floyd and police brutality? Yes? Buckle up and lean in as I chat with Officer Bo Braxton, an LEO in the metro Atlanta area about 10 days after the murder of George Floyd. We chat about what it's like being a "chocolate man" who just so happens to be a police officer. This 11 year law enforcement veteran and proud Sigma discusses everything from raising his sons, the affects of George Floyd and the toll of the mental health it's taken on him and fellow officers, his thoughts on how to bridge the gap with the community and even his approach and thoughts on what to do when pulled over. For such a deep topic, Bo is able to keep it lighthearted at times showing just why he's so respected and loved on social media as one of the "good cops" that's a champion for the people in his community. Connect with him on social media just to see his cop stories, and community events. There are just as many good chuckles as they are thought provoking comments. ***This episode is marked "Explicit" due to a s word or two, but nothing too vulgar, nor is it often. We live in a world that seems to be constantly asking the question we often sing, “Where Can I Turn For Peace?” Along with the age old concerns, our society faces additional new challenges as a result of living in a technology-centered, social media world. Slap a pandemic on top of that and, as we’ve learned in recent weeks, the world truly feels like it is in pandemonium. But John Hilton, an author and associate professor of Ancient Scripture, believes that help for even the most current challenges can be found through the gospel of Jesus Christ and in the pages of scripture. “If we can shift our mentality from ‘Okay, I’m going to pray and God’s going to bless me with exactly what I want when I want it,’ to ‘I’m going to keep my covenants no matter what,’ it’s a powerful shift in our lives— when we remember it’s okay if our kids don’t do everything that we hope they will. It’s okay if I lose this great opportunity. In the long run, Jesus Christ is going to wipe away all of my tears and I can focus my hope on Him.” Show Notes 2:10- Bullying, Kindness and Resilience 6:48-Balancing Professional Help and Spiritual Tools 8:44- Aiming for Perfection/Legalism 10:50- Fence Laws 13:43- Scrupulosity 15:56- Patterns of Peace 20:40- Peace Amidst Pandemic 23:52- “Know the Church is True” or “Know Christ” 26:18- Why Have a Relationship with Christ? 28:18- Turning the Hearts of the Children to the Fathers 29:34- Why Understanding Grace Matters in Mental Health 33:05- What Does It Mean To You To Be “All In” the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Strange times for all of us, and especially for a rising number of people are say they’re being abducted by aliens. Alien abductions were big news in the 1980s and 1990s, but they’ve declined in the last 20 years. Why? Have the aliens gotten bored of us? Don’t they exist? But weirdly the number of alien abduction accounts is rising again and perhaps the pandemic has something to do with it. That’s what our Faculty of Alien Contact Studies believes – and we have proof, right here in South Mimms! This message was written by a human. Promise.
This episode, called What Is Your Coaching Business Model? is the 6th in my Coaching Business Checkup series, which is all about how to strategize the most important parts of your business. If something isn’t working well in your coaching business, it might be a lack of strategy holding you back.At the end of this whole series I’ll have a downloadable Coaching Business Checkup Assessment you can use to diagnose and treat what’s ailing in your business so you can fix it and thrive. The show notes for today’s episode can be found at prosperouscoach.com/67Just in case this business model idea is totally new to you, let’s define what a business model is and why you want one.Why Have a Business Model for Your Coaching?A business model is literally a design for the success of your business. It’s a structure you create that makes your business viable. In other words, it’s your plan for earning good money as a coach.Essential, right?Like many aspects of your coaching business, your business model can’t really take shape until you have targeted a viable audience and developed a smart coaching niche. Those decisions are the cornerstone … everything else you build for your coaching business comes from that.Notice I said a moment reliably attract people to your offers. That takes strategy. It’s a far cry from what I did for so many years at the beginning, which was what I call the “I hope it works” approach to business.Without a business model, you are leaving your success up to dumb luck.No doubt, you experienced a lot of business models just living in the modern world but you might not have thought much about it. I’ll just name a couple to help you understand the conceptLet’s take Netflix. You get an account. Pay monthly. And for that low fee, you get access to their impressive catalog of TV series and movies to stream on demand. That’s called the Subscription Model. It has 3 main parts: Subscription service + Options the consumer wants + Delivered on demandIt is something you could create someday. More about that in a minute. How about Uber? Their model is called Create the Marketplace, which operates on supply and demand SUPPLY = people with cars who want to earn + DEMAND = people who want to get someplace now without drivingIt’s very specific and innovative. And this is close to what a coach needs to do. You identify a BIG PROBLEM that a specific audience faces and create a hunger for your program which helps to solve that problem through coaching. The Simplest Coaching Business ModelA while ago I aired an episode called The Simplest Coaching Business Modeland it’s been a favorite with record downloads. This episode goes deeper into what’s involved.By the way, thank you so much for going back to my earlier episodes! I can’t tell you how often I hear that people are binge listening to every episode. That’s a great way to learn a lot fast. It’s a great sign that episode is popular. It means that coaches now are much more business savvy than I was when I started. So well done you. Keep that up!For a coach, the simplest business model is to offer 1:1 coaching.Go to the show notes for more details prosperouscoach.com/67

In this fast-paced sea of distraction, we call life, staying focused on what truly matters can be a daily grind. Grind you say? Yes, grind, if you give what truly matters the same level of priority as you do every other mind-numbing activity and task that you feel responsible for. Even what truly matters can seem like a drudge. Are you busy? Why? Have you ever asked yourself that question? Why today, when we have so many time-saving apps, gadgets, processes, and programs do we feel more overwhelmed than ever before? I bet, if we take a deeper look and challenge our current lifestyles we will find a lot of waste and a chance to make things more meaningful. This is a subject that truly speaks to my heart. Encouragementology is the practice of instilling hope. I created this idea and trademarked the name to make it stand out and I practice it daily to make it real. It’s important to me to connect with people and pursue my mission of helping others connect and receive the benefits of group dynamics. I have been leading support-style groups for over two years. It wasn’t my first intention. At the time I was creating a way to help women get back in the workforce. I have been a professional person my whole career and knew I had the skills to create resumes, help with interview strategies, attire, motivation, and so on. I collected donations to build a professional women’s closet and I scheduled my first workshop. That event and that day really set the tone for everything I’ve done to date. As I was taking one of the ladies home that night she got out of my car, turned to me and said, “thank you for making me feel so good about myself today”. That statement opened my eyes. What truly mattered was encouragement. Until that point, I thought I was giving them something they needed like technical help, knowledge, tangible resources, etc. But it was far more than that. We, myself and my volunteers took the time and poured into them what they needed, encouragement. They needed to know they were capable and that someone believed in them before anything else made sense. We talk a lot about self-motivation, keep calm & carry on, just do it! But first, you have to be encouraged to believe that any of that is possible. I wanted more. There must be other workshops to reach more people so I created Women Connect. The original intention of this group was to get women together to talk and see what else they might want to know or have help with. That first meeting we had 18 women and what I found was another revelation, they didn’t want anything, just a chance to get together and share with each other. Women Connect in itself is what they wanted. That was over two years ago and we still meet every other Tuesday like clockwork. Each meeting I create a through-provoking topic, deliver some ideas and then everyone has a chance to share. We don’t talk about the weather or politics or anything else that you might share on the surface. We share our goals, dreams, challenges, failures, and successes. When you are a part of something you feel a part of something with a purpose. This group is there for each other and even though everyone goes back to their own lives and careers during the rest of the week, you know you are a part of something deeper, a support system who genuinely cares. I tell you all this not to toot my horn for such a great idea but to say connections are what matter. Not how many Facebook friends you have or twitter followers, but real-life connections. Your family, true friends, the people you encounter, your co-workers who you spend almost every waking hour with, your neighbors who boarder your daily life, the grocery store clerk who you’ve seen twice a week for a decade. These people all matter and you have an opportunity to reach them in a unique way. Just talk to them. Nurture your human connections and communication. Make it a priority. Back in the day (I realize that term is so subjective but that’s part of the fun) we used to visit people. We would clean up the kids, bake a pie, load up in the wagon or car (whichever) and go visit someone for a day. The kids would play, we would catch-up on life, share stories, have plenty of laughter and after a good long visit, we would go home. Then the phone was invented and we started viewing “staying in contact” a little differently. We called to check-up on a regular basis. Birthday calls, holiday calls, good wishes, sympathy, etc. We were missing so many of these important calls we created an answering machine to catch them. Then we developed texting. Quicker communication that was less invasive. We went from catch-up to a check-up to a check-in. These messages used to be limited to 140 characters but that wasn’t long enough to express our true sentimental or aggressive meaning so now they are unlimited. To add more life and emotion to our string of acronyms, we developed emoticons and loosened our constraints on punctuation. Today a 140 character text message would feel like morse code. My goal here is not to bash technology. I’ve worked remotely for my company for the last 6 years and couldn’t do what I do daily without technology. I have kept up with people I went to school with, worked with, and met while on vacation. I’ve shared ideas, important moments, support, and laughter that would have never reached as far. With all the positive, I’ve witnessed negative. I’m continually looking for the quick and the easy, I get annoyed when something takes a fraction longer, I skim instead of reading, I can’t stay focused on one thing for too long, I’m nosey worrying what others are up to, and I buy into this illusion that I’m SO BUSY. I realize aspects of technology save me time, help me stay connected on the fly, and provide an endless data bank of information. I also know that technology distracts me, eliminates the need for critical thinking and problem solving, and makes me lazy. If it weren’t for auto-correct my emails would look like a third-grader sent them. I can feel my brain rushing through, knowing that spellcheck will pick it up if I can just get close enough. Enough! A better camera and a faster network are not going to solve this, it’s only going to make it worse. How fast is fast enough? Isn’t life already zooming by at unimaginable speeds? How clearly do you need your selfie, you already have every possible filter invented? Enough is enough. We can’t accept this behavior and our impatience as normal or we lower the bar beyond recognition. How much lower can it go? I for one, don’t care to know. You have the power to make a significant impact on the world every day if you step outside of yourself and look around. Every day we transfer our energy to those we come in contact with. This doesn’t happen through technology but out in the real world when you look at another human being, when you smile, and when you talk. Just as you can transfer energy, you can absorb energy. What kind of energy do you want to share and receive? You wake up late, frustrated by your schedule and things that were left undone yesterday. You turn on the news or worse, scroll your social feeds and let yourself sink into a sea of negativity which just adds to your increasingly horrible mood. Now you go out and meet your first person, what do you think that energy attack will look like? They might have been one of those few who look for gratitude first thing and now they are infected with your negative energy. Or…….you wake up with optimism ready to embrace the day. A new day full of new possibilities! You think about all the things you GET to experience today and it helps to fuel your positive energy. You avoid being pulled into gossip and negative opinions all the while harnessing your power. Your first encounter will look much different than the aforementioned. Your intentional and happy to connect. Your positive energy washes over them and no matter where they are in their day and how they feel, they are impacted in a positive way. You’ve changed the trajectory of their day. Now they have the opportunity to pass it on, and so on, and so on. CHALLENGE: Push back when life seems out of control and lean-in to human connections. Make time for what truly matters in your life, nurture your relationships, and create space to enjoy the world around you. I Know YOU Can Do It! Welcome to Finance and Fury, The Furious Friday edition I often wonder – Why the Fed/Central banks continue with polices that create a massive misallocation or resources and are hurting the economy more than helping – well – what If they cant stop or a collapse might follow Central bank policies cannot be unwound without creating a market collapse Central banks are focusing on inflation – but money printing has resulted in inflation of asset prices – not in consumer economy – no real business growth (despite markets going up) – limited wage growth and affordability issues – a bit of a mess Situation, where the policy response is to lower interest rates to try to boost CPI through increased ability to spend more and businesses, can increase how much they sell for – i.e. basket of goods goes up – but doesn’t work as the printed money never ends up in the equation, as velocity of spending is needed- if the money is in the financial system through sinking money into investments – then velocity of that under current model and measurement system – velocity is non-existent on those funds This episode focuses more on the Federal Reserve – they directly, and the USA being the economic powerhouse, and indirectly as well – control the economy now The irony of the modern economy - the "free market" in the USA is more centrally planned than the USSR could ever dream of Slowly becoming common knowledge that every single market is distorted beyond comprehension due to Fed policies Also - continued central bank intervention will only make the ensuing final crash that much greater, but nobody has any idea how to detach the Fed from capital markets not that they are so heavily invested Since 2008 – a lot of the market's performance was due to the Fed - their "emergency" measures implemented post GFC are still being continued – Why? Have we recovered from the GFC or not? A decade and more has passed since the financial crisis, and crisis-era policies are not only still with us – they have been expanded. The $60 billion per month that the Fed is now purchasing for its balance sheet is a new record rate of asset accumulation Not to mention the other central banks conducting the same operations – like Japan and ECB Starting to look like we are now living through the third consecutive asset bubble in a row – this one "the central bankers' bubble" which followed the dot com and housing bubbles om 2000 and 2008 This bubble is fuelled by QE – This offers a conundrum - growth fostered by rising leverage can never be sustainable – you can massively increase your lifestyle – called a credit card – people do then boost lifestyle/consumptions on debt – but is it sustainable? After a little while, not so much - Gov/central banks aren’t the same as you and I – have much deeper pockets – i.e. all of ours – taxes, Gov Debt per person – as long as the population uses money – Central banks are owed that in repayment – as long as the governments can borrow – the population owes by extension owes money to the Government Why continue continuous printing - unsustainable monetary policy continues for one simple reason – to end it means a massive collapse – These monetary policies (like QE) - set up likely with intended consequences in mind – to provide confidence and boost asset prices through injection of cash (liquidity) into financial markets – But the unintended consequences undermining the sustainability of the current asset price regime are the real concern – it is a complex system – i.e. non-linear - Depending on where you stand – this was either another blunder by bankers to stumble into another trap – or the unintended consequences were intended as well Doesn’t matter – the same situation regardless – why better for those with power to have less ability to use it – best intentions don’t mean much when they end up in everyone else but you suffering – saying the road to hell is paved with good intentions Take a step back – before central banks got heavily involved When an individual worked – they received their paycheck – they consumed some of it and any surplus (savings) were deposited into a bank – this is then added to their pool of “loanable funds” which would then be auctioned out to a willing “bidder,” say a bank, a mutual fund, or a rental income opportunity – they then make an interest rate on this based around the market price of cash – which wasn’t set by Central banks – then in the 70s this system ceased But when the 2008 crisis hit, market-clearing levels for loanable funds rose massively – Created a situation where credit was priced out of reach for all but the most pristine (prudent) borrowers, asset prices were in free fall, and a financial system that had built an excess of leverage was at risk of implosion. Response by Fed - initiated a suite of policies that included QE. Technocratic justifications aside, QE enabled the “printing” of new loanable funds. Unlike the worker who had to provide something of value in exchange for receipt of his loanable funds, the Fed simply conjured new funds from the electronic ether, thereby massively diluting the existing private sector pool of loanable funds. Predictably, bank deposit rates tanked, credit spreads tightened and cap rates were yanked downwards. Of course, an asset price inflation spurred on by an expansion of credit is exactly what followed - That all changed with the 2013 “taper tantrum” and was reinforced by the 2018 abortive attempt by the Powell Fed to “normalise” rates and balance sheet so slowly that it was supposed to be like watching “paint dry.” Policies implemented as a response to crisis now can’t be exited without provoking the next crisis. Monetary policies have become more of a problem than a solution In basic economic - the supply side of any economy had the tendency through most observable times in history - to invariably configure itself to meet its demand-side – why having free-market supply is important – there will always be demand as long as people exist – supply makes it happen and through the growth of business (supply) - you get growth in demand’s capacity to demand (higher incomes) But when money is free – and you have the deepest pockets – you can monopolise, buy everything out – and create an oligopoly, where there is a state of limited competition and there are only a few companies that control the free market – Issue for these zombie companies - merger/buying activities spurred by artificially cheap credit will disappear once that credit is repriced. Raising rates and normalizing the Fed’s balance sheet would now be tantamount to pulling the pegs out from the bottom of the Jenga tower. Fundamentally – the economy is reliant on central banking injections into the financial world – to remove this wouldn’t be possible without forcing changes -would force the supply side to adjust in response to demand and a likely recession would result - To look further at the corporate health of companies - Fed Policies Have Lifted P/E Multiples, Yet Aggregate Profits Have Stagnated Central banks used to be viewed as the lender of last resort – the bank of commercial banks where if one was suffering liquidity issues – CB would lend to commercial banks – Today – involvement is almost absolute – but the faith in the power of monetary tools to manipulate economic growth is severely misplaced – no different from communist/central planned economies The economic problem – finite resources with unlimited wants – economics core principle is the management of scarcity But economists in the CB don’t know what scarcity is – thus the focus has been on demand side policies which require an increase in the supply of credit How scarcity works in the real world – Beachfront properties in highly populated areas – Sydney Harbour, Hamptoms The supply and demand laws here market forces that balance the number of people who can buy oceanfront real estate to match the scarcity of oceanfront homes – not many people have $10s of millions – the supply is essentially capped – so prices are mostly reliant on demand and its constraints i.e. – How much people can demand through their wallets - high mortgage rates, boom times in home price, or loan underwriting standards Now let's say the prices were dropping – fed would decrease the interest rate – or remove a few homes – to increase the price if it is below what they deem is reasonable – called to “stimulate” activity But now say prices got too high – they (if they could) – put up hundreds of houses – Economics without scarcity can be dangerous long term – but has its own theories Keynesian - point to the cause of rising real estate prices is “obviously” stimulative because higher prices spur such activities as home improvement adding revenue to the construction trades, one has to wonder: an instructive critique of this way of thinking can be found in the entertaining 19th-century treatise by Bastiat on the fallacy of the “broken window.” Wherever you might come down on the argument, the basic point is that trying to fool Mr. Market works about as well as trying to fool Mother Nature. If monetary policy were the key to earthly prosperity, surely all nations would have bootstrapped themselves by the simple artifice of helicopter money – high-income nations with a lot of taxpayers and legal system have – use the population as collateral on loans The unintended consequence - rather than igniting an economic boom - cheap and abundant credit has simply increased the asset prices relative to fundamentals – which haven't changed by as much as the prices have – getting into the bubble territory I.e. profits for corporate America have gone more or less nowhere for five years – Through a combination of share repurchases, creating higher EPS increasing share prices, along with massive flows into indexes to increase demand on the lower number of shares – prices have gone up – but not based on the company performances Another flow-on consequence - covenant-lite loans have enabled private equity to purchase businesses at high multiples has been unprecedented - Cov-lite is financial jargon for loan agreements that do not contain the usual protective covenants for the benefit of the lending party - Covenant lite loans are typically used for leveraged buyouts and other large, sophisticated loan transactions – i.e. borrowing to conduct buybacks Cov-lite loans as a percentage of all newly issued institutional loans is about 85% in 2019 – been increasing every year since the major rounds of QE kicked off in 2011 – was almost 0% in 2004 – rose to under 10% in 2006 – jumped to 30% in 2007 just before the crash – then back to 5% post-2008 – bounced a little until 2011 when jumped back to 25% - then climbed all the way to 85% now Created situation where liability side of the company’s balance sheet can be profoundly altered by central bank policy – making it look more profitable - but long-term growth is a function of businesses operating and providing a good and service than reducing shareholder equity on the right-hand side of the balance sheet – Operational improvements work best when the incentives to do so are market-based – not when credit is artificially cheap – for instance – borrowing to increase assets and long term profits based around market demand – Continue to look at the health of the companies and markets next week – Next part – looking at market values that are there thanks to corporate debt – borrowing for buybacks And why Central Banks removing their credit or making it more expensive would result in market corrections Thank you for listening to today's episode. My name is Joshua T Berglan and welcome to Gratitude:UnFiltered AM! P-erspective With this reading plan we will discover seven elements of our faith that help bring purpose to our life. Each element will utilize a letter to form the word P-U-R-P-O-S-E. Today, the letter P stands for Perspective. “Why?” Have you ever asked God that question? Some may say it is wrong to ask God “Why?” They incite that it shows doubt rather than faith. However, asking God questions can actually develop purpose and focus for our lives. Questions can become a platform used to gain an unbiased perspective of God. Questions can bring clarity and clear the distorted doubt regarding direction for our lives. Life has a way of clouding our vision of God and His purpose for our lives. By gaining a new perspective of God, our faith grows and our purpose deepens. Today’s challenge: As you read today’s verses, write down some of new perspectives of purpose for your life as seen from God’s view. Romans 8:28 And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. Gratitude:UnFiltered AM is an extension of the host, Joshua T Berglan’s quiet time and what he is studying in preparing for his Saturday Night talk show. Gratitude:UnFiltered AM is meant to inspire, intriuge and ignite your passion for the day ahead to aid you in reaching your destiny.

I don’t like change. Why? Have you ever asked yourself why? Is it traditions or a way of life you’re attached to? Is it because you need a sense of control? Maybe changes would make you loosen your grip on your life a little bit and you don’t want to do that. Is that because you’re scared? What are you scared of when it comes to change? The unknown? Failure? Judgement? Is it because the routine and habits you have right now don’t take much thought or practice? Is it because you’d actually have to turn yourself off autopilot? Listen in to how I respond to those of you who don't like change and why I see intentional change as an important part of LIVING. Following the Prince of Peace means announcing and embodying Kingdom Peace, by living out the Gospel of Peace in the world He came to save. 9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9 Do you know the Prince of Peace? If you are His, do people see Him in you? How do others experience you? As one who is easily offended and often alienated from them? Or as one who values them deeply enough to lay yourself down to cultivate and preserve peace with them? Who are you alienated from today? Why? Have you owned your part in the conflict, no matter how small? What might happen if you went first to make peace with them as Jesus went first to make peace with you?
SCRIPTURE: Acts 6-8:3 (Acts 7:51-8:3)As the early church grows in numbers and influence, the Jewish leaders in the Sanhedrin continue looking for ways to suppress the movement. These efforts come to a head in the trial and execution of Stephen, a Hellenistic Jew and the church’s first “martyr.” Stephen is accused of proclaiming that Jesus intends to destroy the temple and change the Mosaic Law. In response, Stephen reminds his judges of the full scope of God’s story with Israel, focusing on the ways the Jewish people have repeatedly underestimated the scope of God’s plans for his creation in favor of exclusive dogma, arrogance, and pride. As we have seen in the previous chapters, Stephen implies that Jesus’s Kingdom isn’t a diversion from God’s story as revealed to the Jews but a culmination of it. This week, we want to investigate the danger that “thinking small” still presents for us and to be reminded of the unstoppable mission God has been on for millenia. How can we know what part we have to play? And how can we act in both confidence and humility?DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:At the beginning of Chapter 6, a dispute arises about the pastoral care of the community, and the original disciples ask the body of the church to “choose seven from among you who are full of the Spirit and wisdom” so they can turn the issue over to them. Why do you think the disciples hand this job over to others? Why are these two criteria the ones the disciples choose? And what are the implications of this story for our own church? At first, Stephen’s “begin at the beginning” approach to his defense can feel overwhelming or even excessive. But what does his decision to retell so much of Israel’s story tell us about him and how he is trying to defend himself? What does it tell us about the foundations of his faith? About his view of Jesus? About his fears for the current leaders of the Temple? Why do you think Stephen tells the members of the Sanhedrin that they are a “stiff-necked people”? What is he accusing them of? Why? Have you ever been “stiff-necked” in your own life? How did God challenge this behavior in you? What values can you develop in your life to resist this temptation in the future? How would you define the word “martyr”? How does it apply to Stephen? What impact do you think Stephen’s death might have had on the average members of the early church? What are some ways that you fall victim to “thinking small” when it comes to God’s mission? How do churches sometimes do this? What can we do about it?

Today’s question: Today’s question is from Troy. I’m seeing lots of engagement but minimal conversions from traffic driven from my Facebook page, so I’m wondering if I should focus on building the brand via Facebook and then worry about obtaining customers later? Jake’s answer: Facebook for businesses is not as valuable as it was even a few years ago. Every business should have a Facebook page and you should post there regularly, but you shouldn’t be focusing your attention there. This is different if you are an influencer or coach, but for businesses it’s mostly for show. Why Have an Active Facebook Page? Having an active Facebook page is a good indicator if a business is still around and if you’re not going to post regularly then you should shut the page down. We’ve automated most of our Facebook posting by creating tie-ins to our other platforms (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) so when we post on those channels it also posts on Facebook. The main benefit of having a Facebook page is that you can run ads through your page and that can sometimes give you good traction. We run retargeting ads and cold audience ads through our business Facebook page, which is something you can’t do through your personal page. It’s also a good idea to try to get up to around 1,000 likes or follows on your page so that it gives you some credibility. It may be a vanity metric, but it helps you show some influence. Once you hit that threshold you can pull back a little bit and just focus on keeping the page updated. Ask Your Own Question Got questions about startups and/or startup culture? We’ve got answers. Why Have a Garden Plan? The Garden Plan is a very important tool for gardening and should never be skipped. To determine what to grow, I suggest start with your grocery list. What do you already buy? From that grocery list, make your garden list and see what you could feasibly grow at home. You can skip tree fruits like oranges, but salad greens and root vegetables are great for home gardens. If you don’t like Kale, don't grow it. But don't be afraid to try new things. Once you have a list of what you want to grow, come up with a realistic quantity. Start small because it's very easy to get excited and have too many plants and become overwhelmed and discouraged.

What a powerful statement, huh? Movement is...Motion. Life. Emotion. Forward movement. Revolution. Motion is life, and life is motion. But is this YOU today? Are you a woman of movement? Today I'm going to teach you how you can be. SHOW NOTES... Unfortunately when people first reach out to me, a lot of times they’re NOT moving. They’re moving and shaking…but not moving anywhere. They’re shaking in fear, and not moving ahead in their lives. They feel stuck. Oftentimes feeling like they’re stuck, AND they suck. Not knowing what to do. If that’s you, don’t worry. I’ve got you covered. It’s not the first time I’ve heard this. Years ago, I was hearing this so often that I put together a Training C.A.M.P. to help people begin to move forward in the areas of: Certainty. Abundance. Movement. Purpose. That’s why we’re talking about this. We’ve talked about Woman of Certainty (EPISODE 037) and Women of Abundance (EPISODE 038.) Movement is such a huge part of YOU being alive on planet earth. MOTION is everything, my dear. Perhaps you find yourself sitting all day, everyday at your job, then you go home at night, and sit in front of the television. And all you do is sit. Sit. SIT... Today’s the day you have to take a STAND for yourself. Take a STAND for the motion. Take a STAND for the emotion that’s evoking passion and power in your life. Today I’d like to speak about three (3) areas of MOVEMENT. 1. Health - Physical Movement If you’re not doing daily physical movement, then I’m not going to “should” on you. You KNOW you “should” be moving. But IF you’re not, then ask yourself, "Why…?" - Have you scheduled it into your day? - Are you scheduling movement that you love to do? Not everyone is super excited about getting on a treadmill, elliptical machine, stair master, or whatever. I get it! You don't have to. Exercise is any movement more than you’re doing right now. If you are currently doing NO movement, and you start moving - even a little bit - it’s like putting a little bit of money in your bank account each day. Before long you’ve got some kind of account! When you begin to move a little each day, you start a fitness, health, and wellness account. Before long your account grows. I had a woman come to one of my talks when I spoke about this topic. What she took away from my talk was this: “Do what you can.” So she did. She knew she could walk for a minute. Then she decided she could run for a minute. So she started running for one minute, and each day she added another minute. In six weeks she was a runner…training for her first 5K! She had lost weight, and so many amazing things happened because of her commitment to do what she could in the area of physical movement. Make the commitment to do what you can. Do something MORE than you’re doing right now. The slightest little changes have an accumulative affect. 2. Head - Mental Movement. Where are you in how you’re THINKING? Are you seeing the future, yet strategizing and taking action in the present? This is what it takes to be a Woman Of Movement. You must be able to see the future with BIG VISION, but strategize and take steps in your present. What steps are you taking to move your life forward, and in the direction of your desires, dreams, goals, and vision? Are you taking steps each and every day? If you’re not, then you have your dreams and desires on the back burner. Get your dreams and desires OFF THE BACK BURNER. If you’re putting your dreams and desires are on the back burner, YOU’RE GETTING BURNED OUT. You may think your burnout is coming from how hard you work. BUT, if you’re working real hard and you’re getting burned out, perhaps it’s because your life’s not working. One way to get it WORKING is to get your dreams, goals, desires OFF the back burner, and get them out in front. No different than a carrot on a stick. Get what matters to you out in front of you to keep going. Otherwise you’re FRYING yourself! Stop. Stop what’s not working. It’s time to start something new. Start what IS working. 3. Heart - Your Spiritual Movement. Are you creating, and entering into the revolution that is YOUR LIFE? Creating a revolution…a movement in your life. It feels so big, but it doesn’t happen over night. It starts by doing the little things. Get moving. Get your body moving. Get your health heading in the right direction. Start tapping into the energy source that’s life and movement. Motion is life. Life is motion. Begin to strategize as you see your future. Say YES to the future you’d like to create, but STAY IN and DO the work in the present. The motion and momentum that you’ll create in your life will create a revolutionary movement. Have you ever thought about that? Or are you waiting for someone else to come along, and lead you on this movement? Are you ready to lead yourself? Receive the leadership around…there’s nothing wrong with that. But if you aren’t willing to do it for yourself, you’ll keep doing it all by yourself. When you're willing to do it FOR YOURSELF, you don’t have to do it ALL BY YOURSELF. And you can enter the moment that is your life, my dear. This is one of the reasons I started Women Sipping On Life. You’ve heard my story that began many years ago. I began to sip on life with some of my mentors. I started to grow, go forward in my life, and leave the past behind. Instead of being and talking about the problem, I decided to BE and talk about the SOLUTION, and become an active participant in creating it. Oh my goodness, my life has never been the same. I believe WOMEN SIPPING. ON. LIFE. is a movement. The last time I checked (at the time of this recording) we were in over 16 countries. I’m so excited about that, but I would LOVE to hear from YOU. What’s happening for you? Are you beginning to take these steps, and enter into the moment that’s YOU and YOUR LIFE? Not only a life, but a life that you LOVE, and a life that LOVES YOU BACK. I hope you got something from this message today. Please grab your SACRED S.O.L. D.A.T.E. JOURNAL (Daily Action To Engage with yourself.) TODAY'S SACRED S.O.L. STEP: Sit down. Write this out. Then get up and go! Write out one thing for each of these 3 areas of movement that you’ll commit to doing today...and WILL move you forward: 1. Health. 2. Head. 3. Heart. You’ll get further in life by doing a little each day, then waiting until that one day when you feel ALL INSPIRED, and try to do it ALL over night. That’s NOT going to happen. You’ll wonder why you keep starting and stopping. Then blaming yourself for not being disciplined. Instead, make a decision to do a little every single day and build on it. NO!Successful fitness trainers demand transparency. They expect our best effort. A healthier longer life is the result of having this kind of accountability partner. Why not have accountability partners in other areas of our lives? The truth is that many of us refuse living authentically especially when someone else is watching. Refusing authenticity from ourselves around others means refusing to be authentic to ourselves. Why This Episode? In this episode, we’re talking about accountability partners, how and why you should have at least one. Ideally, you’ll have a multitude of accountability partners for different areas of your life. You'll learn how having a trusted adviser can help you maintain personal and professional integrity, or provide accountability in reaching your goals. We will also discuss what it would take from you to get the most out of having someone holding your feet to the fire, the do's and don'ts that is.In the end, it's all up to you though on how far you want to go in life and how you will allow people to help get you there. Is it an improved marriage, climbing the corporate ladder, writing that first novel, or accomplishing some that people never thought you could but you always want to do? Why? Have you ever wondered what makes Jesus unique? Follow this 12 week podcast series of the gospel of Mark as we study the life of Jesus and what makes him better than anything.
Another quick summer episode here as we take a break from our usual programming. And, contrary to what you might assume from the title, we’re not going to ask you to do anything illegal! A Graffiti Tag for Your Marriage Our graffiti tag is simple. It just looks like C+V. But we have fun putting it in different places. We finger-paint it onto dirty windows, in frosty windows, even under our first Ikea kitchen table. Hey, I even emblazoned it on our lawn with herbicide! We don’t spray it on railcars or carve it into picnic tables at the park. It’s really just for us. Why Have a Graffiti Tag? This isn’t just a random idea. I think every couple should have something like this that tells you who you are. To us, this is a symbol of commitment, togetherness, and love. It is a symbol of the bond we cherish. So we stick it different places. Surprise each other with it. It’s a reminder of our commitment to one another. If you think it’s cheesy – that’s fine. But I want to challenge you to think about what you do to remind yourself and your spouse about the bond between you. The wedding rings you wear are great but you get used to them and kinda forget about them, right? So whether you choose to have a graffiti tag or some other symbol between you, choose something that will serve as a reminder down through the years of that bond that you cherish. For us, it’s a touchstone. Lots of things change through the years but C+V is always there. How about for you?

Have you ever asked yourself why it’s easier to invest in a stock in China than it is in an office building around the corner? It just is, but if Fundrise’s brand of real estate crowdfunding takes off, that all will change. Dan Miller joins us on Tradestreaming to discuss the case for real estate investing and tells us just how Fundrise is building a crowdfunding investment platform and service for the future.

In his words to the church in Smyrna, Jesus does not promise to save them from physical death or even that things will get better. In fact, Jesus does nothing! He allows their suffering to continue and worsen. Why? Have we not been told all our lives that Jesus will rescue us and keep us from suffering? Are these not the conditions under which many agree to come into a relationship with Christ? Are there not many in the church today who think that if they do their part (attend church, read their Bible on occasion, give some amount to the church), then God will do his part (make our life better)? We must come to a place where we understand and accept a biblical understanding of suffering before such suffering arrives in our lives. It is important to know Gods heart before we face suffering, so that we may understand our suffering in light of Gods love for us and in light of Christs suffering on the cross instead of interpreting Gods heart towards us in light of our suffering. If we wait until the persecution comes to ponder Gods plan, we will most likely come to the wrong conclusions. The letter to Smyrna gives us insight we need should the Lord ever allow such suffering to come our way.
This is the first lesson in our Gospel Meeting. Why Have a Gospel Meeting? In this lesson Mr. Jim touches on a few key points to explain the biblical grounds and uses of a Gospel Meeting. Bob Rinear of InvestYourself.com joins us to discuss the struggling economy, and the conservative means it would take to turn things around. Questions: What is the significance of recent stock market fluctuations? Is there an economic impact from the oil spill? Are we being told about all of the bank closings? and Why? Have we seen the last of mortgage difficulties? What about higher priced homes? Commercial market? What accounts for the fact that government-provided benefits - from Social Security, unemployment insurance, food stamps and other programs - rose to a record high during the first three months of 2010? How does that affect our alleged recovery? Is there a point of no return? Conservative News and Commentary
Do you believe that people who are saved go to heaven immediately upon death? If so ask yourself this question, "Why?" Have you ever studied your Bible to see if such is true? Have you ever heard a sermon, lecture, or series taught proving that people go to heaven or hell immediately when they die?
