The Efficient Advisor: Tactical Business Advice for Financial Planners
We've all had that day that you were SO BUSY, but at the end of the day looked back and realized that you didn't actually do or complete any of the major things you needed to do. YET, you felt slammed all day! So here's the questions we're going to seek answers to today… How do you ACTUALLY get things done in your time blocks without getting distracted? What do you do if your energy is off and you just don't feel like doing that thing you had scheduled? How do you manage your time when random tasks and crap just pop up in your business that you have to deal with? How do you not get sucked into the vortex that is random to dos, being all over the place, and juggling all the balls? I mention it all the time–that to scale your business you have got to scale yourself first…. These are the questions I hear from advisors in our coaching and these are certain questions I had for myself that I had to test, try, tweak, and seek out answers to for myself in my own business. In today's episode, I am going to share EIGHT tips & tricks I uncovered over my nearly 2 decades in the business that worked for me when it came to actually getting done what I was supposed to… when I was supposed to do it. This includes a rapid-fire power hour, iron butt time, and the Pomodoro method. Intrigued? hey guys! so sorry for again the delayed release of a free episode of my podcast. let me tell you something guys. it is SO HARD balancing doing this version of my podcast and doing the premium subscription version of my podcast. I have been recording SO MANY new interview episodes lately, and if I"m being totally honest with you, it is has been REALLY difficult to find the time to do the free version of my podcast, among also managing classes for the school that I"m going to, as well as trying to work on new music. but I'm not gonna lie, things have been great for me lately. It has been SUCH A JOY doing these interviews for the premium version of my podcast, and it has been SO COOL uncovering new facts about some of my favorite records of all time from the people that were there & made this music happen back then. But I digress, I'm really gonna do my best to try & upload a new free episode of my podcast for a few reasons, one I don't want to neglect you guys & only release premium interview episodes & not give you guys any free content, and also, while I have been able to interview so many great 60's music legends on my podcast, there are TONS of records from the 60's where pretty much no one is alive today who were involved in the making of these records, so I couldn't interview those particular people, and I think I want to make an effort to try & cover those records on this free version of my podcast, so I'lm keeping that music alive while interviewing as many OG people who made these songs back then as I can for the premium version of my podcast. as I'm doing this week. so it's women's history month, and I thought I would kill two birds with one stone & do a song by a British Singer & have it be a female. here's the link to this week's song just in case you wanted to listen to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvTmm0wV9SY don't forget to also follow me & reach out to me on Instagram & Tik Tok right here: https://www.instagram.com/iheartoldies/ https://www.tiktok.com/404?fromUrl=/iheartoldies listen guys. I recorded 5 FREAKING INTERVIEWS THIS MONTH. i have been going SO HARD at doing this particular version of my podcast, and I REALLY hope you'll jump on this soon. it's super affordable & there are SO MANY great and insightful interviews on this feed already and SO MANY more that are gonna come out soon. I REALLY hope you guys will take advantage of this while it's here: https://themillennialthrowbackmachine.supercast.com/ and GUESS WHAT GUYS!?!?! I FINALLY HAVE MERCH FOR THE PREMIUM VERSION OF MY PODCAST!!!! YES!!!!!! I just got this REALLY cool logo done for the premium version of my podcast. and the slogan PERFECTLY encapsulates EXACTLY what you would be paying for for the premium version of this podcast. I hope you guys enjoy this fresh new merch, and definitely let me know your thoughts on the new logo as well: https://www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/158056341 also please do listen to these Spotify & Youtube playlists for this podcast. I still update them whenever I get the chance to record & put out free episodes of this podcast. please do check them out right here & do send me suggestions for songs I should talk about next at samltwilli@icloud.com: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/21f3uBS6kU4hUF6QAC5JMj?si=3d02c5e301ad4f7c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS1sYR7xky8&list=PL66sgq_GAmRcXy8yKZJfVmAD14HUYj7Nf also, PLEASE do stream my last EP. guys I am currently working on new music but MAN it has been a slow process with these new songs because I have been SO BUSY with doing interviews for the premium version of my podcast, that I just haven't had the time to further flesh out the arrangements for these songs, but don't worry, I will get to them, in the meantime, please do enjoy this: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/samlwilliams/an-old-soul-with-new--remiagined-things if you loved my analysis on this week's song & you haven't heard it before & your around my ages, please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com.
Who recognises the badge of honour of being “busy” SO BUSY! If you do, you're going to love this episode that I recorded with Tamu Thomas. We talk everything around the subject of women who work too much. Tamu and I come at things from quite a different perspective on the surface of things, but when you lift the hood, we have so many shared perspectives and values around how to help you empower yourself to create more of the life that you want, the work that you want, how to ask for more of what it is that you desire. We talk about pleasure. We talk about the nervous system, we talk about safety. We talk about love. We go into all of the ins and outs, and I know that you are going to love this episode. So without any further ado, here is the episode. While you are here do NOT forget you can order my book, Infinite Receiving right here.Quotes"I felt like I was always scraping the energetic barrel.""Our nervous system shapes our beliefs. Our beliefs shapes how we take up space and what we want in the world.""When you are cultivating a nervous system of love and you're creating loving environments and loving experiences, that's a huge sign of safety for your nervous system.""I want women not to give themselves a hard time, because they're trying to do it all so they can slow down and understand if I'm going to be creating these wonderful things, this is the support I need to have in place."Highlights 04:34 And I remember looking at my daughter and thinking, I'm always working too much wink, and I feel like I'm constantly scraping the bottom of the barrel of my energy to be able to show up for you as a parent, there was not a lot of joy in my life.17:32 All of us human beings are cyclical in our nature. And people who menstruate are especially cyclical in our nature. So what we can do in our ovulatory phase and what we can do in our luteal phase aren't the same.27:42 So my daily habits, I find that really hard. But I allow others the supreme pleasure of giving to me, of supporting me. And I don't make myself wrong for that. I don't call myself high maintenance. I need what I need. I want what I want. And I build mechanisms within my life, within my work, to ensure that I can have those things, because they make me a better person.Find Tamu Online Find Tamu on Instagram Find Tamu on Facebook Ways to work with me: Order The Infinite Receiving Book here and get 30 days of The Gateway for FREE. Do you ever feel overwhelmed, or feel like Life just passes you by, because you're "soooo busy"? Do you feel under pressure to always have a plan, a goal, a task, or a full calendar? We can give ourselves permission to push back at the belief of having a list of actions that substantiates or validates an experience to make it worthwhile. We can be intentional about doing nothing, and honor when we're in need of restoration and a respite. Satisfaction doesn't just come from crossing off our To Do list. Sometimes what needs to be done is to be still and do nothing. And that's ok.

Even during this interview, he shares his mobile number and encourages people to get to know him. He doesn't want anything or need anything other than to help. Yes, he is wildly successful. Yes, he is married to a supermodel. Yes, he has a $500K car parked in his garage... BUT what motivates him is HELPING OTHERS. He shares the story of a person that influenced him at a very young age and how he uses that as one of his foundations to teach others. Tia Williams is a force. Having her on the podcast is something beyond my wildest dreams. Not only did we get to chat about Tia's books and current projects (she's SO BUSY!), but we also spoke about life in general, the challenges she's faced on her journey to where she is now, and everything in between. This is one of the most special episodes I've recorded yet, I hope you all love it! ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ About Get Lit With Lianna: The Podcast Join Instagram book content creator @getlitwithlianna as she sits down with a different guest author to chat about their books, writing career, and everything in between! You will have heard me say this before: Time is our greatest asset. So many of us feel SO BUSY. We operate in CHAOS. We are REACTIVE rather than proactive. There is just not enough time in the day! Putting it simply, I believe that farmers (as a rule) DO NOT VALUE THEIR TIME. So many of us are STUCK in our business - ‘saving a wage' by doing the LOW-VALUE tasks on our farm. And this is ‘costing us a fortune.' In this podcast, I speak with two of the most professional and highly effective individuals I know – FOA's General Manager, Sam Johnsson and FOA's Business & Administration Manager, Michaela Malicki. In this podcast, we explore how they manage their time and the tips & tactics they recommend to help you become more effective. We discuss email management, diary management, scheduling, planning, to-do lists, meeting management and quarterly planning. In life, no one (necessarily) has any more time than anyone else. We all experience time the same way. The key to TAKING CONTROL and being highly effective comes down to how we value and prioritise our time. I hope this podcast is helpful to you. I hope it inspires you to make meaningful changes and apply professional time management practices to your lives and your farms. Please share your key take-aways and wins on the Profitable Farmer Facebook group, and reach out with any comments and questions on this. Finally, FOA's Take Control Program delves deep into this topic and offers some powerful training to help you implement this and be more effective.
I mentioned it all the time–that in order to scale your business you have got to scale yourself first…. And these are the questions I hear from advisors in our coaching and these are certain questions I had for myself that I had to test, try, tweak and seek out answers to for myself in my own business. In today's episode I am going to share EIGHT tips & tricks I uncovered over my nearly 2 decades in the business that worked for me when it came to actually getting done what I was supposed to… when I was supposed to do it. This includes a rapid-fire power hour, iron butt time, and the Pomodoro method. Intrigued? Talking about myself feels like bragging, but the truth is people are SO BUSY, in their own heads about their own problems and never remember what you can do, because they're too busy worrying about their thing….so, it's good to tell people about how you can help them. Here are some ways I can help: I have a varied background, which means various experiences and that is very good for voice over. I like to set expectations and boundaries when I work with someone new. I voice out of my professional recording studio (which is still so cool that I have one in my house...I'm still stoked about that! I was put on this Earth to be a voice actor (and annoy my husband), so I take it seriously (both things). I prefer being an "artist" and a performer, but I can Type-A it up as well. I can sound like a little kid, usually I get typecast as a little boy voice, that's actually how I started in voice over, as a cartoon boy voice. I have even sang as the little boy voice for a couple of children's eLearnings. If you need a voice that is NOT like mine, please ask, I can always refer you or ask around for leads. I'm sure I will think of more to add here, but that's what people should know before working with me. It's been really easy to wear that badge of being "SO BUSY" as an excuse to not do the things that I say really matter. In this very first episode, I am getting really straight with myself about some of the areas of my health that I've been telling myself I'm "too busy" to do. And I am inviting YOU to join me as I begin to explore what it means to be a Wellness Warrior for The Health of The People. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thehealthofthepeople/support
In this fast-paced sea of distraction, we call life, staying focused on what truly matters can be a daily grind. Grind you say? Yes, grind, if you give what truly matters the same level of priority as you do every other mind-numbing activity and task that you feel responsible for. Even what truly matters can seem like a drudge. Are you busy? Why? Have you ever asked yourself that question? Why today, when we have so many time-saving apps, gadgets, processes, and programs do we feel more overwhelmed than ever before? I bet, if we take a deeper look and challenge our current lifestyles we will find a lot of waste and a chance to make things more meaningful. This is a subject that truly speaks to my heart. Encouragementology is the practice of instilling hope. I created this idea and trademarked the name to make it stand out and I practice it daily to make it real. It’s important to me to connect with people and pursue my mission of helping others connect and receive the benefits of group dynamics. I have been leading support-style groups for over two years. It wasn’t my first intention. At the time I was creating a way to help women get back in the workforce. I have been a professional person my whole career and knew I had the skills to create resumes, help with interview strategies, attire, motivation, and so on. I collected donations to build a professional women’s closet and I scheduled my first workshop. That event and that day really set the tone for everything I’ve done to date. As I was taking one of the ladies home that night she got out of my car, turned to me and said, “thank you for making me feel so good about myself today”. That statement opened my eyes. What truly mattered was encouragement. Until that point, I thought I was giving them something they needed like technical help, knowledge, tangible resources, etc. But it was far more than that. We, myself and my volunteers took the time and poured into them what they needed, encouragement. They needed to know they were capable and that someone believed in them before anything else made sense. We talk a lot about self-motivation, keep calm & carry on, just do it! But first, you have to be encouraged to believe that any of that is possible. I wanted more. There must be other workshops to reach more people so I created Women Connect. The original intention of this group was to get women together to talk and see what else they might want to know or have help with. That first meeting we had 18 women and what I found was another revelation, they didn’t want anything, just a chance to get together and share with each other. Women Connect in itself is what they wanted. That was over two years ago and we still meet every other Tuesday like clockwork. Each meeting I create a through-provoking topic, deliver some ideas and then everyone has a chance to share. We don’t talk about the weather or politics or anything else that you might share on the surface. We share our goals, dreams, challenges, failures, and successes. When you are a part of something you feel a part of something with a purpose. This group is there for each other and even though everyone goes back to their own lives and careers during the rest of the week, you know you are a part of something deeper, a support system who genuinely cares. I tell you all this not to toot my horn for such a great idea but to say connections are what matter. Not how many Facebook friends you have or twitter followers, but real-life connections. Your family, true friends, the people you encounter, your co-workers who you spend almost every waking hour with, your neighbors who boarder your daily life, the grocery store clerk who you’ve seen twice a week for a decade. These people all matter and you have an opportunity to reach them in a unique way. Just talk to them. Nurture your human connections and communication. Make it a priority. Back in the day (I realize that term is so subjective but that’s part of the fun) we used to visit people. We would clean up the kids, bake a pie, load up in the wagon or car (whichever) and go visit someone for a day. The kids would play, we would catch-up on life, share stories, have plenty of laughter and after a good long visit, we would go home. Then the phone was invented and we started viewing “staying in contact” a little differently. We called to check-up on a regular basis. Birthday calls, holiday calls, good wishes, sympathy, etc. We were missing so many of these important calls we created an answering machine to catch them. Then we developed texting. Quicker communication that was less invasive. We went from catch-up to a check-up to a check-in. These messages used to be limited to 140 characters but that wasn’t long enough to express our true sentimental or aggressive meaning so now they are unlimited. To add more life and emotion to our string of acronyms, we developed emoticons and loosened our constraints on punctuation. Today a 140 character text message would feel like morse code. My goal here is not to bash technology. I’ve worked remotely for my company for the last 6 years and couldn’t do what I do daily without technology. I have kept up with people I went to school with, worked with, and met while on vacation. I’ve shared ideas, important moments, support, and laughter that would have never reached as far. With all the positive, I’ve witnessed negative. I’m continually looking for the quick and the easy, I get annoyed when something takes a fraction longer, I skim instead of reading, I can’t stay focused on one thing for too long, I’m nosey worrying what others are up to, and I buy into this illusion that I’m SO BUSY. I realize aspects of technology save me time, help me stay connected on the fly, and provide an endless data bank of information. I also know that technology distracts me, eliminates the need for critical thinking and problem solving, and makes me lazy. If it weren’t for auto-correct my emails would look like a third-grader sent them. I can feel my brain rushing through, knowing that spellcheck will pick it up if I can just get close enough. Enough! A better camera and a faster network are not going to solve this, it’s only going to make it worse. How fast is fast enough? Isn’t life already zooming by at unimaginable speeds? How clearly do you need your selfie, you already have every possible filter invented? Enough is enough. We can’t accept this behavior and our impatience as normal or we lower the bar beyond recognition. How much lower can it go? I for one, don’t care to know. You have the power to make a significant impact on the world every day if you step outside of yourself and look around. Every day we transfer our energy to those we come in contact with. This doesn’t happen through technology but out in the real world when you look at another human being, when you smile, and when you talk. Just as you can transfer energy, you can absorb energy. What kind of energy do you want to share and receive? You wake up late, frustrated by your schedule and things that were left undone yesterday. You turn on the news or worse, scroll your social feeds and let yourself sink into a sea of negativity which just adds to your increasingly horrible mood. Now you go out and meet your first person, what do you think that energy attack will look like? They might have been one of those few who look for gratitude first thing and now they are infected with your negative energy. Or…….you wake up with optimism ready to embrace the day. A new day full of new possibilities! You think about all the things you GET to experience today and it helps to fuel your positive energy. You avoid being pulled into gossip and negative opinions all the while harnessing your power. Your first encounter will look much different than the aforementioned. Your intentional and happy to connect. Your positive energy washes over them and no matter where they are in their day and how they feel, they are impacted in a positive way. You’ve changed the trajectory of their day. Now they have the opportunity to pass it on, and so on, and so on. CHALLENGE: Push back when life seems out of control and lean-in to human connections. Make time for what truly matters in your life, nurture your relationships, and create space to enjoy the world around you. I Know YOU Can Do It! Episode 4. So Busy! by Dimitry's Comedy Podcast
2019 was honestly one of the best years of my life thus far. That is largely in part to traveling the world. It didn't suck. As well as business growth and financial stability. YES, I believe we ought to be grateful in all states, which is easier said than done. But if we're being honest, money does, to some extent, allow for more freedom and less specified stress IF dealt with like a good steward. Which is something I'll talk about a bit later, because money mindset was something I worked heavily on in 2019. This was simply because I was making more money and wanted to be responsible with it, but knew that I had false beliefs around money that would not benefit me, my marriage or my business. So, kudos to world travel and business. Because its all a part of my life and self growth. I read less books and had more experiences. I made more friends on the internet than I've ever had in real life. And I learned so much this year. So let's dive into my five big takeaways from 2019. I'm WAY more flexible If you don't know, I am an introverted Type A, ISTJ-A on Myers Briggs, 8 Enneagram and shift between a Questioner and Upholder on Gretchen Rubens four tendencies. All of that means I like structure, systems and predictability. I want to know the end of the movie before I watch it. I want to repeat things that work and am slightly terrified of things are new to me, with no proof of being efficient or productive. You get my drift. Now picture the person I just described, traveling the world while running and scaling an online business… Really, that is WHY I can do both successfully, BUT like any scenario, our strengths are often our weaknesses as well. When 2019 hit, we were off to South East Asia, very little of which we had planned. I had an option to remain uptight and want to plan every little thing (which is what I tend toward), or I could learn to go with the flow. At least a little more. We actually got to the point that we were booking things as we went rather than super far in advance. I will say that we like having our flights and hotels booked ahead, just for peace of mind. But it's so easy to travel in Southeast Asia that it was a great time to be more flexible. When we found out I was invited to go with Fre Skincare to Morocco and got the dates, we pretty much just filled our time between seven countries in Southeast Asia and then planned an impromptu road trip through Portugal before heading to Morocco. That flexibility transferred to business and life in general. It's still important for me to plan. But I am definitely more flexible with those plans and sometimes even find myself feeling restricted if my scheduled plans don't align with what I feel like doing that day. I don't know if you are comprehending that that is a HUGE deal for me. I am a changed woman. Another area of growth was relationships. I made more friends I went from starting college and working to being in college, working and interning, to working, training people in person and building an online business. Add in the blaring introvert in me, and you can see why a social life was not a priority to me. Yes, I had friends. But if I had a choice between getting coffee alone and getting coffee with a friend, I probably would have chosen alone. I was busy, SO BUSY. And I reset by being alone, slowing down, reflecting and creating space for my brain to breathe. Which is not how feel when with people, even people I love. So, here I was 5-6 years in to being BUSY AF and not pursuing friends, to traveling the world with one human. A human I happen to love, and who I will spend the rest of my life with. But I'd yearned for more friends and connections for YEARS. And it was like a burning desire once I went all in on my online biz and started traveling the world. It was very apparent I needed friends. And I happened to find mine on Instagram. You think that's weird?
Brandon is dead. Mike (@WrestleWatcher) decided that rather than just ignoring the fact that Brandon (@WrestleBrand) didn't have time to record because he's SO BUSY before going IN PERSON to see NXT Takeover AND WrestleMania - his character should just be killed off the show. So now he is dead. Could he come back to life? Well that is really up to you the listener. For this episode we just have Mike - who literally recorded this episode in the bathroom so he wouldn't wake up his wife. HOWEVER - on Sunday you might hear from a resurrected Brandon when WrestleFania goes LIVE for the fourth year in a row. 4pm on Sunday right before the big show. Mike will be there for sure, and hopefully he can patch in Brandon in the midst of him getting drunk in the MetLife Stadium parking lot. Tell a friend!

Elena and I are going to talk about energy cycles, a morning routine, what it can do for your life and your business, and about what to do with those fearful thoughts that can sometimes take over when you're facing something that you haven't done before. I can tell you from experience that even for someone who is NOT a morning person, that morning routine is truly life changing!
Claire and Ian are SO BUSY, they don't even have time to make you a new Eppy on the World Wide Web! That being said, this is the perfect time for you to leave a rating and review, if you haven't already! Also, the fridge is on the left. Make yourself a sandwich. How To Heat The Heart Of A Holy Hottie 1 Peter 3:7 (NIV) “Husbands, in the same way BE CONSIDERATE as you LIVE WITH your wives, and TREAT THEM WITH RESPECT as the weaker partner, and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.” According to 1 Peter 3:7, three things will warm the heart of a Godly woman toward her man. 1. Understand my wife! Hard Because of the way we’re made so different… Starts - “BE CONSIDERATE” Difficulty in Communication is Hard Wired (Illus. Communication 3) Woman 25,000 words – Man 10,000 words… Wife 45 Min to 1 Hour a day – Husband 15-20 Min. Once, Twice Week My Wife: Deep Yearning to Know – I want to Know Her – NOT JUST FIX HER… Understanding is the FIX!!! Definition: Thoughtful of the needs and feelings of another. Be in tune with her feelings. We need to be able to discern our wives feelings and respond to them accordingly. Don't ignore, belittle, or get angry at your wife's feelings. Know her desires. - Concerning herself. - Concerning your family Understand her moods. Some days she'll be blue a need an extra dose of tenderness. Some days she'll be fed up with the kids and need you to give her some relief. Some days she'll feel lonely, and need a little extra time. Some days she'll feel unlovely, and may need a new dress or a hairdo to make her feel attractive. There's No System. Sensitivity grows out of communication. More than just talking. It is LOOKING, LISTENING, and LEARNING. Many wives Say, Husbands are BLIND and DEAF Understanding their needs and desires. So Busy trying to fix it – Never Understand Her – Understanding is the REAL FIX! Requires Attention - Every part of the human body communicates: The eyes - show anger, disinterest, Happiness. The body - It shows when it's tired, depressed, bored. The tone of voice often reveals the truth behind our words. Just - Open our EYES and EARS - Wives are saying (to us and to others), we would learn how to RESPOND TO THEIR EMOTIONS and MEET THEIR NEEDS. Ask Yourself Does she need COMFORT? Does she need ENCOURAGEMENT? Does she need HELP? Does she need LEFT ALONE? 2. Spend time with my wife! “LIVE WITH” Most Modern Marriages – Suffer from a Simple lack of Togetherness…! Careers have Destroyed Relationships… Outside Interests have destroyed Relationships – No Automatic Pilot… Lack of time together - Opens up room for a deep soul loneliness – Vulnerable! Definition: Share my life … do things together… be companions. (Illus.) Sharing Life is Not – Pack Mule, Mouse, Lion, Worker Bee “What Women Want”… (Illus. Dishes with me 8) 3. Honor my wife! Value of a Wife: Proverbs 31:10 An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. Prov 12:4 An excellent wife is the crown of her husband Prov 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord. Guy who didn’t do understand this (Illus. Undertaker 9) “TREAT THEM WITH RESPECT” Guy Really tried to Change (Illus. Come Home Drunk 7) Definition: Show that I put her needs and desires ahead of my own by my words, attitudes, and actions. (Illus.) GOLD Practical ways to assign honor: 1) Tell her you love her and appreciate her…When we got Married… 2) Tell others that you love her and appreciate her (especially in her presence) 3) Treat her “Heir of the Gracious Gift of Life… Before God” --- CROSS Frustration builds up - Shown that she is Special “What’s Wrong?” -- “Why Frustrated?” “TREAT THEM WITH RESPECT – AS THE WEAKER PARTNER” Explain: “Weaker – Caution: HANDLE WITH CARE” HOW? --- 3 Ways… Pamper Her. By doing so, you let her know that you want her to dress and smell like a
Let's talk Hustle. Where I come from, the word hustle has two meanings. 1) sports 2) Being a hustler Sports Hustle Works hardRun on the field/court, no walkingSense of urgencyIntentional – Every move is planned or with purposeDives for a loose ballI LOVE these type of people. They sell out, put in the work, play to the whistle. They're a critical component to building a great team. You can always count on them giving their all. They may come with some baggage but you know when the chips are down they are all in and that they prepared with their hustle. Being A hustler One sided dealTaking advantage of meA slime ballThe business “Hustle” life, although it may work for some, I do not aspire to have that. I do not admire and/or want to be the guy who works 16 hour days no matter how big of an empire it might build. That's just me. I think some people define themselves by how “busy” they are. That there is some badge of honor being “So Busy”. I prefer to work smart/less with the biggest results. Don't get me wrong…I work hard and “Sports Hustle” but it's for a short period of time, or small sprints. I've had plenty of 16-20 hour work days in my life. But it's rare and for a very intentional task. To the “Hustlers” who work their rear off…I commend you. It takes someone special to be all in like that. But please…don't blow smoke that you have a “Family First” mentality. I know, first hand, there can only be ONE 1st and if you work 16 hours per day, fly around the world, client meetings, sporting events, etc. I hate to break it to you…your family isn't first. Period! That's not passing judgment that's calling BS on how somebody represents themselves.Maybe family first in your rule means family first…right after my business. Again, that's fine, not passing judgment but your actions speak louder than words. I bet if we asked your family what comes first they would say your work, not them. I don't know about you but when I leave my legacy I don't want it to say “Hustler”. I want it to say the best “Husband, Father and Friend” So…hustle. Sports hustle is important, it builds character and is critical for your team and your business. Business Hustle…how I see it. Maybe a fit for some, but not for me. The good news is…we get the choice and that's awesome.
We are always telling ourselves stories, which our subconscious then makes sure we live into. "Gosh, I am SO Busy" or "I am just so tired" What if we changed these simple, supposedly "meaningless" comments that we say over and over again into something more powerful. Something where we have more control? Imagine the possibility!
Thanksgiving Day is a time to show gratitude. This episode released on Thankgiving 2015 and Thom Singer shares a list of what he is grateful for.We live in world where "I'm So Busy" has become a faux badge of honor. Yes, you are busy... but so is everyone. Stop making "busy" a competition. Instead of telling people you are busy, let them know you are fortunate. What is Thom grateful for??? His parents, sibling, wife, kids, friends, the National Speakers Association, and Austin, TX. Tune in to hear this shore episode that focuses on the good things in life.

Unforgettable: Messaging | Leadership | Personal Brand | Visibility
In the first episode, I share why I’m launching this podcast and why you're going to love it as well as my own story and how it relates to YOU. First of all, I created this podcast based on a desperate need I see in pretty much every female entrepreneur I talk to for longer than a minute - whether it be a client, a friend, or a business coach I'm working with. We are SO BUSY that eating a proper meal, working out, or even taking time for ourselves easily falls off the to-do list (or maybe doesn't even make it on there in the first place). One of our biggest struggles is to eat foods that will fuel our body AND our business. Often we know what we should do, it just feels overwhelming and complicated when we've got so much else going on. That's where I come in. I help female entrepreneurs who don't want to choose health over hustle make healthy living part of their business plan. And I started this podcast so I could help YOU. My strength is in simplifying kitchen time and fueling your business with powerful, nourishing plant foods so you can expect regular episodes with just you and me for guidance that gets you feeding your hustle. But I strongly believe that true health and hustle goes beyond food. So, on the Feed Your Hustle podcast, I'll also have deep conversations with established female entrepreneurs who’ve integrated healthy habits into their day-to-day business (and even during stressful events like big launches!). We'll talk about self-care, eating well, moving your body, time management, and the balancing act that goes on behind the scenes of your business. In fact, most of the ladies I interview will be in the Feed Your Hustle FB group answering your questions after their episode. I invite you to join us - it's a safe community space for female entrepreneurs like you to get support, accountability, and ideas from your fellow women in business. Join us this week for our podcast discussion with Mark Burgess, and Shaun Wissmann, both missionaries and serving in missional community in Chorrillos, Peru. We shoot the breeze and discuss the differences between missional community and house churches. Is it just an alternative to “big churches?” What is a community on mission together? When the writer of Hebrews talks about not forsaking gathering together, is this referring to attending a weekly service, or something more profoundly missed in our modern context? Mark and Shaun also brought up some very interesting points in this discussion, about how there is no ‘magic silver bullet‘ to community, but it takes lots of time and hard work. Are you willing to put in the commitment and sacrifice? In launching missional communities, or in planting house churches, by and large, are we going to the pattern of Scripture for our foundation, or looking at the culture around us and mixing it in with our desires and preferences for what an MC is supposed to look like?
