We collect gently new or used sneakers, giving these shoes to other individuals in need. Americans throw away an estimated 300 million pairs of shoes each year. These shoes end up in landfills, where it can take 30 to 40 years to decompose. The midsole of shoes is made of ethylene vinyl acetate, which lasts up to 1,000 years in a landfill. By collecting shoes we keep them out of landfills and make the world a better place for generations to come. It is estimated that around 1.2 million students drop out of high schools in the USA every year. Shoes are a requirement to attend school, putting up a barrier to those that want to get an education. Kids without shoes often can’t attend school and adults can’t work. Without shoes, people are vulnerable to scrapes, cuts, bacteria and parasites that can lead to infection and other serious illnesses. https://www.unitedsoles.co

https://unifyimpact.com What is ESG? Sustainable investing strategies consider environmental, social and governance factors as part of a stock’s performance. ESG is an acronym for environmental, social and (corporate) governance: factors that pertain to the impact a company is having on the world. Historical context on Sustainable Investing In the past, ESG factors were considered non-financial. An “exclusionary” investing strategy meant avoiding sin-stocks (such as alcohol, firearms, cigarettes and large polluters), companies that engage in harmful activities. Companies like Phillip Morris and Remington were recommended as “good” based on the return on investment, but ethical investors not to include those stocks in their portfolio. Later, “exclusionary investing” gave way to “socially responsible” investing strategies. Where investors measured success based on a company’s mission rather than financial returns. “Sustainable investing” strategies consider ESG factors alongside financial returns to achieve BOTH values-alignment AND returns on investment. UnifyImpact focusses on Sustainable Investing. How to understand ESG data and Sustainable Investing Every company has an ESG story to tell. Companies can be strong in one area and weak in another. Defining what goes into each category of E, S and G is not simple, but overall, data is beginning to show a strong correlation between a company’s performance in ESG factors and financial performance. Companies with high ESG scores don’t always grow faster in the short term, but these companies are better able to plan for the future, navigate crises and manage an effective workforce. These behaviors reflect the very real-world issues that affect all of us. Every issue affecting our reality – the unbridled growth of the pandemic, the wild fires, race and gender equity – have been mirrored in company performance – from hiring practices, unabated pollution, fracking, even cryptocurrencies. Every company has a sustainability footprint. UnifyImpact is an ESG education and investing digital platform. We offer Millennials and Gen Z natives the power to align their investments with their values by seeing the ESG scoring of individual companies in eight areas of impact. Until now, this company-specific scoring was available only to institutions and financial analysts. Through UnifyImpact, everyone can have access to the data that can inform us on a company’s sustainable footprint. Our platform is data rich with partnerships in both sustainable and financial market data providers. Our app educates users on individual company performance in areas of environmental, social and governance. Users choose from eight impact values in order to tailor their in-app experience to their passions. Our 8 Impact Values are: ● Climate Action ● Resource Use ● Pollution Management ● Human Rights ● Public Health ● Gender Equity ● Corporate Responsibility ● Collaboration and Transparency

Our Mission is to change lives by eliminating hunger in the Mid-South. By providing food for families, children and seniors, we impact their lives by solving one of the biggest struggles they face: getting enough nutritious food to eat to live a healthy life. https://www.midsouthfoodbank.org Cathy Pope, who took over from Estella Mayhue-Greer as president and CEO of the Mid-South Food Bank in August, is concerned with two colors: red and green. The Mid-South Food Bank serves 31 counties in the region. If a county is "green," that means that those in need are getting fed. Red means there's work to be done. "You can tell if a food bank is doing well serving their community adequately by the red counties," Pope said. Six out of the 31 counties under the Mid-South Food Bank are red. Pope came to Memphis from Mobile, Alabama. There, she was the president/CEO of Feeding the Gulf Coast and wasn't particularly interested in moving. It was the Mid-South Food Bank's new, 150,000 square-foot warehouse that convinced her.

As siblings we grew up on the beach of Fair Harbor (well, a block away) in a barefoot community. In this place without cars and pretentiousness, we formed a deep appreciation for the water, waves and bounty of the sea. We learned to live mindfully and minimally. And in later years, we started to notice more plastic waste washing up on our shores. Having studied plastics' negative effects on the oceanic ecosystem, we wanted to do something about it. Coupling our care and concern for the water with our love of surfing, Fair Harbor was born. Our signature boardshorts and swim trunks are made using post-consumer recycled plastic bottles, transformed in to function fabric at factories we visit personally and regularly. Now, Fair Harbor creates a full range of stylish and thoughtfully designed clothing and swimwear from unique and sustainable materials. Our brand embodies the endless summer mentality. https://www.fairharborclothing.com
Backpack International Inc. is a U.S. based, 501(c) (3), nonprofit organization. Our mission is to share the love of Jesus with children in need around the world by ministering to their spiritual, academic, social, and physical needs. Established in 2015, Backpack International's founder, Oslyn Rodriguez visited Guyana, South America after 14 years, to celebrate her grandfather's 85th birthday. Her family held an outdoor gathering and invited children from the local village to share in the celebration. About 50 children arrived. As everyone sang songs and enjoyed food and drinks, Oslyn began to look around the village. She didn't see a playground or park. There was no community center or positive outlets for these children. She jotted in her journal that she needed to do something to make a difference in the lives of children and youth in Guyana. Backpack International also provides various volunteer opportunities for students, families, and groups throughout the year. Another component of Backpack International is Educational/Adventure Travel. Through their partnerships with organizations in Guyana, South America, students and individuals are able to experience another part of the world. https://www.backpackinternational.org
As the president of two non-profits, I've learned the importance of simplifying complex ideas so others can understand. And this approach works perfectly when it comes to children. I've written a popular series of children's books that helps kids age 5-11 learn the ideas of liberty. But be prepared: your dinner conversations are bound to be much more interesting! Connor Boyack is president of Libertas Institute, a free market think tank in Utah. He is the author of over a dozen books on politics, education, and culture, along with hundreds of columns and articles championing individual liberty. He is also president The Association for Teaching Kids Economics, a national non-profit helping K-8 students learn free market ideas. A California native and Brigham Young University graduate, Connor currently resides in Lehi, Utah, with his wife and two children. https://tuttletwins.com
501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to transforming the lives of under-served, at-risk youth and homeless families living in homeless shelters and transitional housing in Los Angeles. The Children’s Lifesaving Foundation was founded in 1993 by Maria D’Angelo, after she had been volunteering at a homeless shelter in Central Los Angeles. She began by bringing children to get necessary physicals and minor surgeries, and soon began organizing field trips to amusement parks and local attractions. Today, we have served over 85,000 at-risk youth and homeless families through our various programs, have given out over 55 college scholarships, moved 50 families and individuals into new homes, and distributed millions of dollars in brand-new in-kind goods and direct service to L.A.’s at-risk youth and families, and families experiencing homelessness. We are currently focusing upon making our Camp for All Program accessible to even more and more Los Angeles youth and families, and we hope to build our own facility within the next five years…Please watch the video about our Founder, Maria D’Angelo, to learn more about the CLF’s rich history in the local Los Angeles community. https://www.childrenslifesaving.org/

I've written a children's book called "I've Got Spots!" It's about vitiligo, a condition that causes a person's skin to lose its pigment, which I have. My first "spots" didn't develop until I was in my late 20's, and it has since spread pretty rapidly across the rest of my body. I’ll be honest, when the first signs of vitiligo showed on my skin, I freaked out. I had no idea what was happening to me, and I felt completely out of control. I would look in the mirror and not recognize the face looking back at me, and everything I read online only frightened me more. Despite having no known causes and not being a life-threatening condition, I kept seeing it referred to as an autoimmune disease, and nearly every article I read was followed by ads on how to "fix" it or cover it up. I also read that the most common side effects of vitiligo are depression and loss of self-esteem, which I have experienced along my own journey with my spots, and so it occurred to me that maybe what people with vitiligo need isn't just medicine or makeup, maybe we need something that celebrates the uniqueness of our condition in a world obsessed with cosmetic perfection, maybe we need something that makes us feel proud of our bodies and feel included, instead of maybe feeling so alone. I was inspired to make it a children's book because kids have been more interested in what's happening with my spots than anyone, and because the psychological impact of the condition lands hardest on those who get it young. Hopefully, sharing my story will empower anyone who has vitiligo, inform anyone who doesn't, and help everyone feel a little more comfortable in their own skin. After all, we all have something that makes us unique. We all have our own “spots” and it’s time to embrace them. I'm very excited to be working with a local Chicago artist, Jennifer Ferguson, to bring "I've Got Spots" to life through her illustrations. Jennifer has already created the initial sketches and artwork for the book, and final edits are being made to the manuscript. The money we raise here will be used for the design, printing, and production costs of self-publishing a limited release of "I've Got Spots" with the hopes of eventually finding a publisher to take over future distribution! Thank you so much for your support! I've Got Spots Website https://www.ivegotspots.com
Danica and Marta live in Lombok Indonesia though originally from Europe they both now call Lombok home. After the 2018 deviating earthquakes that killed 400+ injured thousands and displaced tens of thousands they felt compelled to help by creating jobs and for locals, thus the birth of Coconesia. COCONESIA project has only one goal – to fully restore and upgrade production of virgin coconut oil and additional coconut products. We want to achieve it by buying necessary machines and rebuilding community workshops where all the manufacturing can take place again. Pak Raden with his female co-workers started the production already but it doesn’t have a chance to be fully operational without help from you.
