Really sorry for missing our release dates - we will be back on track next week with episode 32 of the main show. So, in the meantime, have a Goodie! This week Nadeem recommends 'The Favourite', Yorgos Lanthimos' 2018 weirdo period (comedy?) drama. Olivia Coleman plays a warped version of Queen Anne, delivering an Oscar-winning performance that will make you pee laughing and also cry as well. Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone play alongside Coleman, and are similarly amazing. It's best if you don't know much about this film going in. But please watch it! It won Oscar buzz for a reason...

¡CONTIENE SPOILERS! Conversé de nueva cuenta con Nancy Vázquez (@nyabk) sobre las nominaciones a los premios de la Academia, tras haber visto la mayoría de las nominadas. Esta vez se nos unió Eunice Rocha (@rocha_eunice).
A review (done poorly) of The Favourite. Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. Starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz, and more.
Bethany is in LA where she's had the briefest of sneak peaks behind the scenes ahead of the Oscars. Joining her are Sky's entertainment correspondent Lucy Cotter and Hollywood journalist Brent Simon to discuss the PR nightmare that has been the build up to this year's awards. Plus we hear from hopefuls Glenn Close and Melissa McCarthy.
This week, Adam and Azeem are joined by Morgan Fairless (Managing Editor of The Beaver) to discuss the life and career of Yorgos Lanthimos, whose latest film, 'The Favourite', is nominated for 10 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. They also chat about the latest news surrounding this Sunday's Oscars ceremony. For more updates, you can follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, @podfuzz.
The Oscars are so baffling this year, Craig and Ryan need the help of fellow filmmakers and friends, Zac Gobetz and Ben Nelson, coming up with ways to save the broadcast. Plus, they're breaking down the Best-Picture nominees, one by one, and in case you're a gambler, Ryan's got odds on all of them.
Having spent the first month of 2019 previewing the hell out of it, this week's we're digging through some pretty significant news stories that have kicked off the year. More Ghostbusters! More Mission Impossibles! That's no small amount of awesome. We also run through this year's Oscar Nominations - especially the one's we've seen - before moving on to some more movies we have actually seen, including Dan Gilroy and Jake Gylenhaal's Nightcrawler follow-up, Velvet Buzzsaw, Timur Bekmambetov's first of many 'screenlife' projects, Searching & what we especially hope to be the middle part of Drew Goddard's genre deconstruction trilogy, Bad Times at the El Royale.Contact us on Email at: notwatchingpodcast@gmail.comFollow us on Twitter: @notwatchingpodYou can find the show notes for this show at www.notlistening.co.ukIf you're listening on iTunes, please give us a review! To Check out other shows in the Collection visit:http://barkerpodcasts.webs.com
It is another big episode of The Movie Breakdown as we have reviews for five motion pictures. The big one is the Best Picture nominee The Favourite, which also now means the show has reviews for every contender for the top prize at this year's Academy Awards. We reveal where this one stacks up against the other nominees. Speaking of awards-worthy, Steven Soderbergh is back with his first of two Netflix Original movies coming out this year, and this one is the drama based on a sports agent in High Flying Bird. We also have a little horror movie released under the Orion label in the evil children feature, The Prodigy. We also have two foreign films in the Indian drama Soni and the Spanish horror flick, Animas. As always, we had a great time recording the show and we hope you really love it. If you do, please help us out by spreading the word to other movie fans.Reminder that you can now subscribe either to The Movie Breakdown feed (a subscription link is at the top right hand of this site) or on iTunes (if you enjoy the show, please help us by giving us a five star review)Movie's Rating Our of Four StarsHigh Flying Bird ** (CS & SM)The Favourite **** (CS)Soni ***½ (CS & SM)The Prodigy *½ (CS)Animas ** (CS) & *** (SM)

Welcome back to Double Feature, the IDS film podcast where the powers that be let us in a podcast booth to give you hot takes and maybe some lukewarm ones too. Period pieces are usually boring. Movies featuring stuffy actors wearing petticoats and speaking in bad English accents are the norm when it comes to a certain genre of historical movie. On this week's episode of Double Feature, hosts Annie Aguiar and Chris Forrester celebrate two recent sleek, subversive and sexy period pieces that aren't afraid to stir the pot: 2017's "Phantom Thread" and 2018's "The Favourite." "Phantom Thread" was written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson — notable for the porn epic "Boogie Nights" and the oil boom-set drama "There Will Be Blood — and was nominated for six Oscars at the 90th Academy Awards. While it only won one for Best Costume Design, some consider the film to be one of Anderson's best. "The Favourite" is a dark comedy following two cousins trying to win the favor of Queen Anne of England in the 18th century. Directed by Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos, the film has received 10 Oscar nominations, including acting nominations for all three leading women.

In a movie-heavy episode, the OBBs lament the Golden Globes and review Escape Room, Mary Poppins Returns and The Favourite.
Yorgos Lanthimos is the director of the Oscar-tipped period comedy 'The Favourite', and was in Dublin just before Christmas. Brian caught up with him to talk working with Irish people, going from 'The Killing Of A Sacred Deer' to 'The Favourite', spending nine years on its script, and much more besides.
Yorgos Lanthimos' aptly-named new film 'The Favourite' is gorging on every awards nomination like The Queen attacking a cake. Our intellectual discussion covers the towering brilliance of Olivia Culman, Lanthimos' genius other film 'The Lobster', and the career implications of being cast as "Wanking Man" in a movie. Chris shares his own actorly experience playing a man whose acne medication renders him impotent in an episode of 'The Good Wife'. Jason rants about another commercial, Chris raves about his parents (we think/hope?) and we shout-out great Rachel Weiss performances, Le Carre adaptations and MUCH MORE!
Jon & Caitlin discuss some of their favorite Christmas movies, 'Gremlins' and 'A Christmas Carol (1941)', plus their favorite in-cinema picks 'Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse' and 'The Favourite', and their blind-draw Cheap Seats pick 'Nerve'.
Steve and the team are joined by Olivia Colman who's starring as Queen Anne in 'The Favourite' as well as appearing in ‘Les Misérables’ and ‘Watership Down’ over Christmas.

And what's even more "off the walls", the new Transformers movie has a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. WHAT'S HAPPENING IN OUR WORLD?!! Don't worry. We'll bring you back to earth. Hear the director, writer, and stars of THE FAVOURITE discuss the film at this year's New York Film Festival, where it was the Opening Night selection. Director Yorgos Lanthimos joined writer Tony McNamara, and cast members Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Joe Alwyn, and Nicholas Hoult to discuss the film, which begins its official theatrical run this weekend.
A queen in the past in 'Hyde Park on Hudson,' in the future on 'The Crown' and in the present in Yorgos Lanthimos' latest dramedy reflects on her beginnings in comedy, how the British indie film 'Tyrannosaur' and TV series 'Broadchurch' exploded her profile and what it's like to now be the center of so much attention. But first: Elsie Fisher, the 15-year-old actress who starred in this summer's breakout indie 'Eighth Grade,' joins Scott to discuss her career, social media and her collaboration with Bo Burnham. Credits: Hosted by Scott Feinberg, recorded by Ryan Gabos and produced by Matthew Whitehurst.
It's a sequel episode! After reviewing their first trailers several episodes back, we now review the second trailers for 'Halloween' and 'First Man' (hence this being a sequel episode). 'Halloween' brings back Jamie Lee Curtis as well as the original actor who played Michael Meyers, and 'First Man' is the Neil Armstrong biopic from 'La La Land' director Damien Chazelle, starring Ryan Gosling. Plus, AJ has a surprising reaction to the latest trailer for 'The Favourite', which just might be Jim's favorite trailer of the year. We also discuss the first trailer for 'Front Runner', starring Hugh Jackman as the infamous '88 presidential candidate Gary Hart, before finally addressing a bizarre trailer for 'Disney's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms'. It's an impressive lineup of trailers for what looks like an impressive Fall season of movies. And at one point, AJ's forced to leave the room.
