This week, 25 years after its release, Matt and Dereck review 1999's The Mummy. A young Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weiss are an easy duo to cheer for: but what about the rest of the movie? Does The Mummy have some sort of secret power that will allow it to gain entry into the Action Movie Hall of Fame, or should this movie stay wrapped up and buried, before it hurts the general public?

Det blir sedan hela tre filmrecensioner; Niklas har sett skräckfilmen The First Omen och den nya Poirot-rullen A Haunting in Venice med Kenneth Branagh. Menopause is a seismic transition for women, and for their partners. The physical and emotional changes it brings will undoubtedly reverberate into a couple's sex life.  Irish therapist Beth Wallace believes that this transition can be an opportunity rather than an ending. While decreases in hormones definitely impact women's bodies in some detrimental ways (which will need management), decreased satisfaction with our sensual and sexual lives is NOT inevitable. Andrew and Beth discuss the ways in which the natural changes of menopause can be a time to reflect on desire, expectations and sexual creativity. With good communication, menopause can allow a couple to reflect on their new life stage, and maximise its opportunities.  Beth Wallace is a psychotherapist and applied psychology graduate. We did say it was a Rachel Weiss kind of season, didn't we?We've got a special guest, Naomi, to give us some helpful insights into Jewish traditions and life for queer Jewish people, although she also eloquently explains how there are many different ways to be Jewish, and Jewish and queer. Honestly, this might be our most insightful episode yet, so thank you Naomi! There's also time to have a little lust over Rachel W, to give Rachel A and Alessandro N some love for their great performances, and to talk about some of the differences between the film and the book (everyone's read the book… except Holly, as usual). Join us as we discuss one of Alice's favourite film tropes, THAT sex scene (THAT bit, you know the bit, is discussed at around 58:00 minutes if you're not into it) and we get to the true meaning of this film.CN: swearing, discussion of a sexual nature, spoilers (film and book).

We do this through inspiring examples, difficult conversation, and experiments.    Our guest today is Rabbi Rachel Weiss, and this interview really did it for me.   There's just somethings I reliably loving listening to and talking about. Psychedelic medicines, mystic poetry, loving ones enemies, astronomy, the pursuit of mastery. I just can't get enough.   And my conversation with Rachel hit this sweet spot snuggled right in between social change and spirituality that I just couldn't get enough of.   As she says so eloquently, Rachel is in the business of hope. Like Uncle Jamal, who was our first guest on this podcast.   And hope is this rare jewel that can transform our everyday experience from drudgery to inspiration, and has fueled some of the most beautiful movements of our times – like the black civil rights struggle in the 60s and various independence movements, all over the world, from Haiti in 1791 to today.    So please join us and drink deeply of Rachel's wisdom, inspiration, patience, and hope.   Show Links: Voicemail:  https://www.speakpipe.com/10khshow Email: info@10kh.show Twitter: @10khshow   Guest References: Rachel's Bio: https://jrctogether.org/about-us/our-staff/rabbi-rachel-weiss/

Talking about perimenopause used to be a huge taboo but thankfully times are changing!  Talking to others helps.  We all know this so it seems crazy that for so long nobody talked about menopause.  However, back in 2017, Counsellor Rachel Weiss wanted to change this and set up the first menopause café.  Rachel was passionate that everyone, men and women, should be able to talk openly about all things menopause, as well as drink tea and eat cake. That first get together has since turned into the Menopause Café charity, which supports volunteers worldwide to host thousands of pop-up events both in person and on line where people continue to drink tea, eat cake and talk menopause. In this week's episode, Rachel and I discuss: What you can expect at a menopause café.How talking helps during perimenopause. How to build your self-confidence at this stage of life. Some of the questions brought to the surface during perimenopause such as ‘Who am I?'How changing your perspective creates a more positive experience. How stopping and noticing your thoughts helps you become kinder to yourself.Rachel's latest project ‘Flushfest'.https://www.menopausecafe.net/https://www.instagram.com/menopause_cafe/https://www.linkedin.com/in/rachelweissrowan/You can take my 'how ready are you for perimenopause quiz' at https://www.pollywarren.com/ or contact me at info@pollywarren.com or https://www.instagram.com/pollywarrencoaching/

The Meaningful Life with Andrew G. Marshall

In 2017, Rachel Weiss watched a TV programme about the menopause and was inspired to hold a Menopause Café. This has now turned into an international movement of pop-up events where women and the men in their lives meet to drink tea, eat cake and talk menopause. The Menopause Café is modelled on the Death Café movement, founded by Jon Underwood.  In this episode, Rachel and Andrew talk about women's experiences of menopause and the impact on their lives and relationships. The menopause has long been a taboo subject, and raises profound issues of shame and silence around the female body. Women have suffered due to the lack of knowledge or public conversation about the menopause, and so have their partners.  The Menopause Cafe is playing a crucial role in an increasingly more open discourse on the menopause, helping women to live through this stage of their lives with understanding rather than fear and loneliness.  Follow Up Join our Supporters Club to access exclusive behind-the-scenes content, fan requests and the chance to ask Andrew your own questions. Well, 2020 has been quite a year! As we slide into December, it seems a good time to reflect and check in with ourselves.  I think everyone has struggled with their own different challenges over the past few months and this second lockdown here in the UK has felt especially difficult as we've moved into winter. It wouldn't be surprising if you were feeling a bit low and anxious, because whatever your situation, we've all experienced a lot of uncertainly and disruption in our lives this year. So it's more important than ever that we focus on our mental health and wellbeing and that's exactly what we're doing in this episode.I'm delighted to welcome Rachel Weiss back to the podcast who is just the woman for the job. I interviewed Rachel earlier this year to celebrate International Women's Day for episode 14 of season 1and we talked all about the lightbulb moment that led to her founding the Menopause Café, which has grown into a highly successful international movement. She's also gone on to create the first annual Menopause Festival which is a celebration of women in midlife. If that's whetted your appetite and you'd like to find out more, you should listen to that episode next, because it's fascinating! This time Rachel is joining us with her other hat on, because she's an accredited counsellor, coach and co-founder of the Rowan Consultancy which provides a range of counselling and psychotherapy services. We discuss what's going on in the brain when we become worried and anxious and how this can impact on our body. Rachel talks us through some simple, everyday strategies to manage our mental health and wellbeing, which she describes as emotional "first aid". Tune in to find out how you can support yourself through stressful situations and when you're feeling pressured, so that you feel more resilient and better equipped to cope with the challenges of daily life.If you've enjoyed this episode, please leave a 5-star rating and a review on Apple Podcasts or whichever platform you listen on, as it really helps to spread the word, so that new listeners can find the show. Tyrannosaurus rex is probably the first thing to pop into our heads when we hear the word “dinosaur.” The tyrant lizard king might be the most popular dinosaur there ever was. A missing link? Or a hoax that spiraled way out of control? Today on NatMysteryCast: The Minnesota Iceman Cometh! Welcome the newest episode of Dark Discussions, your place for the discussion of horror film, fiction, and all that’s fantastic. The American author L. Frank Baum is known as one of the greatest fantasy authors of the twentieth century. His works included what some would call today young adult novels and stories in the same mold as Alice in Wonderland or The Wind in the Willows. His most famous novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, had thirteen sequels and also was the inspiration for the Victor Fleming classic 1939 film, The Wizard of Oz. After numerous attempts to make further adaptations, Disney took up the reigns with a property that in all ways seems to fit with their image. Released in March of 2013 was the Sam Ramie directed film, Oz the Great and Powerful, starring James Franco, Rachel Weiss, Mila Kumis, and Rachel Williams. Essentially the film is a prequel to the Victor Fleming film and shows how some of the major characters from that film became who they are. Back stories are filled while new characters are brought into context. With a huge opening weekend and a sequel already being mentioned, the universe created by L. Frank Baum may finally have arrived to stay. Dark Discussions talks about this new film and how it fits in with the Baum universe and the original Victor Fleming film. Discussions include your co-hosts opinions of the casting, the iconic takes on the witches, the special effects, and the screenplay. Walt Disney himself would be proud if he were still with us.
