As if this year wasn't already exciting enough for Nebraska rock outfit 311 with their upcoming appearance at Good Things Festival 2024 alongside Sum 41, Korn, Mastodon, Kerry King and more, but the band have added a touch more spice to proceedings with the release of their 14th studio album Full Bloom late last week.Full Bloom is the group's first full-length project in 5 years, following their album Voyager in 2019. Their first single off the album, You're Gonna Get It is the band's highest charting song in 13 years, breaking into the top 15 at Alternative Radio. It is proof alone that despite the apparent need for regular releases in the modern musical climate, good music will always be good music and fans will (almost) always stay loyal to good music.Thirty-three years into a stellar career, 311 continues to produce compelling, unifying music, with a unique, hybrid sound that encapsulates rock, rap, reggae and funk still turning heads with regularity.Bass player P-Nut joined HEAVY to talk about the album, Good Things and whatever else popped up."I don't get nervous about much," he replied when we asked if the excitement of a new album was still the same 14 albums in. "The fear's been scared out of me, I guess (laughs). But releasing an album is a tenuous, nerve wracking, kind of anxious emotion. It's kind of a scary thing to release an album, even if we've done it fourteen times now."We ask if the band has a set creative process measured over time or if each album presents new challenges."I think everyone's got their own method," P - Nut measured. "We come together when those reach whatever peak. Nick calls me in for lyrics frequently, which is really fun, and it's been something that I've really enjoyed in the band over the last fifteen years or so. We're pretty fixed. We've all got home studios, and we work relatively well on our own. We have demo-itis sometimes where the demos can be better than the finished result (laughs), but I think that's just my ears sometimes. It's really fun recording still. It's only easier, of course now, but now I think everyone's fixed in their way and we get together when the time is right."In the full interview P - Nut talks more about Full Bloom, what to expect musically, how it differs to 2019's Voyager, keeping a steady fan base, their appearance at Good Things Festival, which bands on the line-up 311 hasn't played with before, what we can expect from them live, their just announced sideshows, three songs to get to know the band better plus more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Letdown. over Zoom video!Alt-rock sensation Letdown. returns with yet another captivating and irresistibly catchy track. The Chicago/Nashville-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has unleashed his latest hit-you-in-the-feels single, “Raincoat”, released via Big Loud Rock. The song is the latest offering from Letdown.'s much-anticipated debut album due out later this year. Introduced by a simple percussive beat and the electric twang of a plucked guitar, “Raincoat” storms onto the scene as an anthemic storytelling of roller coaster relationships. Featuring bold, pointed lyrics such as, ‘Apologize a thousand times a week now,' the track gains momentum, steadily evolving into a punk-infused crescendo. Driven by punchy drums, the song is underscored by the roaring of a crowd begging the question, “What did I do this time?”.When asked about the inspiration behind the song, Letdown. revealed that it explores "the bittersweet dance of two individuals trapped in a relationship they both yearn to escape. 'Raincoat' encapsulates the torment of a relationship riddled with apologies yet devoid of solutions, exploring the intricate dynamics of remaining in a situation neither party truly enjoys. It vividly portrays the struggles and contradictions inherent in toxic relationships."The new tune follows the success of Letdown.'s last single, "Hate Myself," which is currently making waves on Alternative Radio as the #1 Most Added Track its first week at the format and climbing to #32 on the Mediabase Alternative chart where it currently sits. This is his second impressive showing at radio with earlier hit, "Crying In The Shower," peaking inside the Top 20 at U.S. Alternative Radio.Letdown. expanded his global audience significantly last year through tours across Europe and the U.S., along with captivating performances at festivals such as Summerfest, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock. Letdown. will be hitting the road this summer performing on the Idobi Radio Summer School tour alongside Stand Atlantic, Magnolia Park, The Home Team, Scene Queen, and Honey Revenge.ABOUT LETDOWN.Letdown. (period included) may have started as a pandemic project for Blake Coddington, but the Chicago/Nashville-based rocker is in a very different place in 2023. Having spent the last three years cultivating a fervent fan base through a number of single releases and emerging as a striking live act — finally bringing his music into the physical lives of his online fans across several sold-out, headlining shows this past year — Coddington is rapidly growing his presence away from the internet for the first time in Letdown.'s short history. The powerful vocals and emotional lyrics over catchy, upbeat drums and guitars originally served as a cathartic way for the songwriter to express himself while working a dead-end job that he hated. But 2022 saw Letdown. being signed to Big Loud Rock and moving beyond his beginnings as a viral, at-home musician. This year, however, represents a whole new start for the vocalist, or as Coddington himself puts it: “It's Season II of Letdown., and it's definitely the biggest chapter yet.”It was just three years ago that he began throwing videos on YouTube expecting to get a few hundred views, yet now he's become a known and respected musical commodity both in-person and online with over 660K followers and 5.5M likes on TikTok, 47+ million views on his YouTube channel, over 100+ million overall artist streams and editorial playlisting from the likes of Spotify's All New Rock, New Noise, Rock Out and Rock Hard.Chronicling Coddington's internal struggle as he searches for answers in times of darkness, uncertainty and self-doubt, his 2023 EP Crying In The Shower features a collection of stadium-sized singles led by the title track that is the perfect example of the wild, emotional ride that Letdown. enjoys taking his fans on. Behind the reactive hook and catchy rhythm, Letdown. navigates listeners through the experience and inner turmoil of trying to get over someone you can't forget. With the release of the EP, Coddington remains thrilled for the development of Letdown. as well as having the opportunity to connect with those who have found solace in his powerful online community. We want to hear from you! Attacks on those protesting the Israeli state policies and practices which have maintained the violent dispossession of Palestinians have commonly misrepresented, distorted, and even manufactured disinformation. This has done great damage to the lives and careers of many.  As public opinion shifts against the Israeli state, attacks by extreme Zionists have increased. On today's show we speak with two individuals about this phenomenon. Nader Hashemi and Omar Shakir help us understand it from many different angles--legal, historical, and personal.Nader Hashemi is the Director of the Alwaleed Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding and an Associate Professor of Middle East and Islamic Politics at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He obtained his doctorate from the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto and previously was an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University and a Visiting Assistant Professor at the UCLA Global Institute. Dr. Hashemi was previously the founding Director of the Center for Middle East Studies at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver.  His intellectual and research interests lie at the intersection of comparative politics and political theory, in particular debates on the global rise of authoritarianism, religion and democracy, secularism and its discontents, Middle East and Islamic politics, democratic and human rights struggles in non-Western societies and Islam-West relations. He is the author of Islam, Secularism and Liberal Democracy: Toward a Democratic Theory for Muslim Societies (Oxford University Press, 2009) and co-editor of The People Reloaded: The Green Movement and the Struggle for Iran's Future (Melville House, 2011), The Syria Dilemma (MIT Press, 2013), Sectarianization: Mapping the New Politics of the Middle East (Oxford University Press, 2017) and a four-volume study on Islam and Human Rights: Critical Concepts in Islamic Studies (Routledge, 2023). He is frequently interviewed by PBS, NPR, CNN, Al Jazeera, Pacifica Radio, Alternative Radio and the BBC and his writings have appeared in the New York Times, Newsweek, Wall Street Journal, The Nation, Al Jazeera Online, CNN.com among other media outlets. Omar Shakir serves as the Israel and Palestine Director at Human Rights Watch, where he investigates human rights abuses in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza and has authored several major reports, including a 2021 report comprehensively documenting how Israeli authorities are committing the crimes against humanity of apartheid and persecution against millions of Palestinians. As a result of his advocacy, the Israeli government deported Omar in November 2019. Prior to his current role, he was a Bertha Fellow at the Center for Constitutional Rights, where he focused on US counterterrorism policies, including legal representation of Guantanamo detainees. As the 2013-14 Arthur R. and Barbara D. Finberg Fellow at Human Rights Watch, he investigated human rights violations in Egypt, including the Rab'a massacre, one of the largest killings of protesters in a single day. A former Fulbright Scholar in Syria, Omar holds a JD from Stanford Law School, where he co-authored a report on the civilian consequences of US drone strikes in Pakistan as a part of the International Human Rights & Conflict Resolution Clinic, an MA in Arab Studies from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Affairs, and a BA in International Relations from Stanford.

Jennifer and Jacques talk about three values that guide thinking and organising by Borderlands Cooperative and conversations on Think Again. These values are: (1) relating and dialogue, (2) diversity and difference, and (3) the practice and nature of inclusion. Firstly, they argue we need to recognise that we are relational beings - in ongoing relating with other people, systems, and the natural world we are part of. (see our very first Think Again Podcast in June 2019)Diversity and difference are essential and necessary for life itself.  (Just think about extensive agriculture specialising in one crop that needs lots of fertilisers and pesticides to survive). Similarly we try to homogonise societies and pressure people to conform to a dominant 'norm' at the expense of individual and societal health. The concept of inclusion is said to be particularly fraught, with a troubled history, and closely related to the language and practice of exclusion. The English exported a radical form of exclusion to Australia (dispossession from land and way of life) starting from the first penal colony at Botany Bay in 1788. To paraphrase Angela Davis (speaking on Alternative Radio) we can't just ask excluded people to assimulate into a flawed, elitist democracy as a form of 'inclusion'. We need to change the system itself to have genuine inclusion. ReferencesThomas Piketty (2020) Capital and Ideology  Cambridge (MA): Harvard University PressPeter Westoby (2022 Understanding Phenomenological Reflective Practice in the Social and Ecological fileds: Three Rivers Flowing London: RoutledgeThe ULURU Statement from the Heart:  https://fromtheheart.com.au/

WISCONSIN MUSIC PODCAST Episode 49 Alternative Radio - Where the 80's Punk Rock Left Off   I talk with Payton about his beginnings, Alternative Radio, and his campaign: I Can Start A Band Too. BIO: In 2019 The band met at art school and began by playing campus shows at pop-up art galleries. This Milwaukee punk rock "n" roll band takes off where the local scene left in the '80s. Taking a cue from bands like Oil Tasters, Couch Flambeau, Violent Femmes, Plasticland, Yipes! and The Haskels, they continue Milwaukee's great history of local music. Stark's dad was a part of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin scene as well playing in the 80's new wave band Among Thorns. Alternative Radio looks back at the past to look to the future and returns to the primitive rock and roll of the '70s and early '80s. The band has started to go somewhere, as we got our first radio airplay, and have had record companies reach out to us now.  Personal:  After 4 years at an art school in Chicago, I moved back to Milwaukee full-time and was determined to get my band off the ground now that I had more time. My dad was in a few bands and had friends that played in iconic local bands, and he constantly told me about the Milwaukee scene in the '80s. I was disheartened when I came back to Milwaukee and saw that the scene was nowhere near the stories I heard from my dad. The general public wasn't really interested in local music, and bands didn't have the backing of local radio and publications to the degree they need. Being dissatisfied with the local scene, and knowing its history and how Iggy Pop and Jimmy Hendrix used to frequent Milwaukee's local clubs and scene I wanted to change that. I knew my band would never thrive if it didn't have an environment to thrive in. I started "I CAN START A BAND TOO", and decided I would bring back the local scene even if I had to do it single handily. I set up a website and did interviews with local musicians from the 80's such as Pat McCurdy of The Yipes!, and John Boler, of Bon Ton Society who actually is a great friend of my fathers' and frequently, is over at the house. I wanted to tap into their knowledge and hear from their mouths what they did to create success in the past in our city. I also started an online zine for the local scene that updates people weekly on what is going on locally. One cool thing that was started was digital compilations on Spotify of local bands. I hope to do different volumes of both of these as time passes and bring awareness to some things I personally find interesting in the scene. Right now the campaign focuses on rock "n" roll because the genre lends itself to D.I.Y. better than some others. I also don't want to throw hip hop, metal, and punk all on a compilation because then songs will get skipped, and that doesn't do a band's algorithm any use. Although I'm choosing to focus on the genre I know and feel I can lend myself the best to, I hope others rise to the occasion and do the same for the other music types. I love music and hope that I can pave a way for other groups who want to create something for themselves. Although I run the campaign by myself several others have been behind it and are excited to help grow the scene as a group. We had the pleasure of interviewing almost monday over Zoom video! San Diego-based alt-pop trio almost monday, who People Magazine recently declared an “emerging artist making their mark on the musical landscape,” have today released their sophomore EP til the end of time. Five tracks in length, til the end of time is chock-full of almost monday's signature California sound. Additionally, almost monday also today released the official music video for the EP's title track.Click HERE to watchtil the end of time's first single “live forever” was met with praise by many critics including music tastemaker Zane Lowe, who personally world-premiered the tune on his Apple Music Beats 1 radio show, and EARMILK, who described it as “a fun, upbeat sing-along track that enlists a festival-ready chorus sure to rock stages when live touring returns.” On its heels, “hailey beebs” coasts along on a downtempo groove wrapped in warm shimmering keys. almost monday's vocalist Dawson Daugherty delivers the quotable reprise with playful swagger before confidently carrying the swooning refrain, “I'm alive with you.” Ones To Watch called it the “perfect summer song” and praised the group–rounded out by guitarist Cole Clisby and bassist Luke Fabry–by saying they “should be everyone's go-to for an instant mood-booster.” Elsewhere on the EP, “this is growing up” gallops from a danceable groove into the rush of an arena-sized hook, while “til the end of time” hops along on tambourine and a funky riff towards a bright and bold refrain. The EP closes out with a stripped-down version of “this is growing up.”til the end of time follows almost monday's debut EP don't say you're ordinary. Despite being released in the middle of a pandemic, the trio was able to make waves with their first single “broken people.”  It landed them  a  Top 20  spot  on  Alternative Radio and led to a  collab  with GRAMMY-nominated duo  Sofi  Tukker. To date, the group has generated more than  42  million combined  audio and video streams and have been declared ones to watch in 2021 by GQ, FLAUNT Magazine, Amazon Music, Shazam and more.Showing no signs of slowing down, almost monday are set to hit the stage and make their debut at some of the biggest festivals across the country this year including Lollapalooza Music Festival, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, BottleRock Napa Valley Music Festival and Firefly Music Festival. About almost monday:  After countless garage jams, D.I.Y. gigs in the back of a surf shop, and innumerable hours writing together,  almost monday  bottle California sunshine in their funky basslines, ecstatic choruses, and danceable grooves.  It turns out the world needed some Cali rays during the pandemic as the band managed to emerge in 2020 with an unprecedented 30 million overall streams, uplifting audiences everywhere in the process.  The San Diego trio—Dawson Daugherty  (vocals),  Cole  Clisby  (guitar) and  Luke Fabry  (bass)— crafted their 2020 debut EP  don't say you're ordinary  in Brooklyn and Los Angeles with producers Mark Needham (The Killers, Fleetwood Mac) and Simon  Oscroft  (The Naked and Famous, DREAMERS).  don't say you're ordinary  ignited a string of buzzing anthems, beginning with “parking lot view” and “come on come on.” Meanwhile, the lead single “broken people,” and the Sofi  Tukker  remix, crystallized their sun-kissed signature style with a bold bass bounce and empowering refrain as it's generated nearly 32 million combined audio and video streams so far and cracked the Top 20 at Alternative Radio. Along the way, they've attracted a growing fan base through a combination of danceable rhythms and uplifting hooks. In 2021, they set the stage for their second EP til the end of time with “live forever,” received praise from  Earmilk,  Flaunt,  Ones To Watch, and more right out of the gate. Additionally,  Alternative Press  touted it and included them among  “40 New Artists You Need To Hear in February,”  and  GQ  Australia  predicted them to be one of  “21 Breakout Musicians to Know in 2021.” The band will also make their festival debut at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, BottleRock, and Firefly this year.  With the release of  til the end of time almost  monday  only accelerate their momentum and emerge as the consummate purveyors of future-facing California pop.  We want to hear from you! And The Writer Is...with Ross Golan

Today’s guest is a New York City-based indie pop band composed of brothers Adam (vocals/bass), Jack (vocals/guitar), and Ryan Met (ukulele/piano/vocals). The band is a DIY pop group who write, produce, and mix their own material in the living room of their Chelsea apartment. Their music style has been described as “eclectic”, combining elements of pop, barbershop, electronic, and dubstep music. They have opened for Demi Lovato, Hoodie Allen and the Wanted. In 2013 the trio released their debut independent single, "I'm Ready." Well-received, the track peaked at number 27 on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart, and appeared on an initial EP as well as the band's 2015 full-length debut album, Living Room. Today, the Multi Platinum indie pop trio have made their first Top 10 entry on the Billboard Hot 100 with their hit single, “Bang!”. It cracked Top 10 at three radio formats—peaking at No. 6 on Pop Radio, No. 2 on Alternative Radio and No. 1 on Adult Pop Radio—and is double platinum certified, marking their sixth platinum song to date. Before the internet was a thing, before social media ruled our lives and before there were a million podcasts talking about about left politics, David Barsamian brought the voices of radical thinkers like Noam Chomsky, Howard Zimm and Arundhati Roy into our lives through Alternative Radio. In this episode, we're over-the-moon excited to talk to Alternative Radio's (@AltRadio) founder David Barsamian (@BarsamianDavid) about his new book ReTargeting Iran, building Alternative Radio over the past 30+ years and working with Noam Chomsky. We discuss the importance of independent media and he tells us that Green and Red is "welcome intervention into the media landscape." We also talk about the politics around Iran, the middle east and his new book. And since it is the week of Noam Chomsky's 92nd birthday, we ask David to share some of his favorite recollections of the world's top public intellectual. David Barsamian is one of America's most tireless and wide-ranging investigative journalists. David has altered the independent media landscape, both with his weekly radio show Alternative Radio—now in its 33rd year—and his books with Noam Chomsky, Eqbal Ahmad, Howard Zinn, Tariq Ali, Richard Wolff, Arundhati Roy and Edward Said. David Barsamian is the winner of the Media Education Award, the ACLU's Upton Sinclair Award for independent journalism, and the Cultural Freedom Fellowship from the Lannan Foundation. His latest book is ReTargeting Iran. The book in a Q&A format about the continued demonization of Iran by the U.S., Barsamian enlists the expertise of five longtime observers: Noam Chomsky, Azadeh Moaveni, Trita Parsi, Ervand Abrahamian, and Nader Hashemi. Together with American Songwriter, we had the pleasure of interviewing Missio over Zoom video!"Missio" is Latin for mission. And what at one time began as a side project for singersongwriter Matthew Brue has now shifted into the main mission. Accompanied by producer and instrumentalist David Butler, MISSIO sports an alternative/electronic sound with beatdriven hip-hop undertones. Atmospheric and expressive, this electro-alternative act is keen on a spirit of experimentation.Based in Austin, Texas, MISSIO broke out in 2017 with their single “Middle Fingers” whichreached top 10 at U.S. Alternative Radio, later leading to an appearance on the late night’sCONAN amid the launch of their debut album Loner. That same album also spawned heavily rotated songs like “Bottom of the Deep Blue Sea,” “Everybody Gets High,” and “Twisted,” which all reached over 50 million streams each (and counting) on streaming platforms.MISSIO released their second album The Darker the Weather // The Better the Man in mid2019, broadening their sonic palette with songs like “I See You” which was the #1 song onthe Sirius XM Alt 18 for 9 total weeks. During this album campaign, their streaming audience tripled and they capped off their album cycle by releasing the single “Sing to Me” as part of the soundtrack to the global video game phenomenon Death Stranding alongside artists such as Chvrches, Major Lazer, Khalid, & Bring Me the Horizon. The band decided to document their creative process and personal growth during the recording process of this album, and ended up also releasing a documentary with accompanying soundtrack which they wrote and scored titled Love Me Whole.MISSIO has now accumulated close to one billion streams within three years and two albumreleases.Beginning the next stage in their music evolution, Matthew and David landed back in theirhome base of Austin, Texas this past November with their producer, co-writer, and creativepartner Dwight Baker, and over a feverish 21 day period wrote and recorded the entirety oftheir new album, Can You Feel The Sun (via 2B Recordings / BMG).The band started with a range of demos that eventually snowballed into being a complete and finished full-length album.“We worked until we felt like we were done and then one day woke up and knew we had afinished album”, says David. “Even from the very beginning of the process I already knewthat ‘Can You Feel the Sun’ was one of the best songs we’d ever written and knew that wehad something special.”MISSIO have toured the United States extensively as headliners, and through several largesupport slots for the likes of MUSE, 30 Seconds to Mars, Yungblud, and K. Flay. The duo have also performed at major festivals like Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Firefly, Hangout, Bottle Rock, and Voodoo Fest. As part of a wider European tour, they made their sold-out UK live debut at London’s Old Blue Last in May 2019. Their high energy live performances and custom-built light shows easily set them apart from their peers.MISSIO returned overseas in early March 2020, but the second half of their European tourwas cancelled as the band were pulled off their tour bus at 2AM whilst crossing the Czechborder, so that men in hazmat suits could check their temperatures to ensure that the touring party didn’t have COVID-19. They raced to get home on the final day before the U.S. borders were closed.Regardless of not being able to tour for the rest of the year, the band have decided to forge ahead with releasing their new music. They put out first single “Wolves” on June 24, which reached #1 on the Sirius XM Alt Nation ‘Top 18’ within three weeks. This is their 4th #1 single on the countdown to date.We want to hear from you! Voice of the People: Radio By and For the 99%

Voice of the People: Radio by and for the 99% will look at the threat to our democracy in the upcoming elections. Our word of the week is “coup.” We look at how only 22% of Americans today have confidence that the Presidential election will be “free and fair.” And we explore how a roleplay by non-Donald Trump supporting political players in the so-called Transition Integrity Project found their most contentious scenario being Biden winning the popular vote and Trump winning the Electoral vote and thus the Presidency. We follow that up with a review of the important article Matt Taibbi wrote a year ago titled “We're in a Permanent Coup,” in which he argues that it's better to have a bad president than to accepts coups and that the open insubordination shown by the leadership of the US intelligence community toward Trump adds up to a new tactic by the spooks to destabilize an elected US government and so a coup in fact. Also, in the first hour we continue to cover the pandemic and the economic catastrophe for the 99% allowed to happen by Congress while billionaires grow even richer. We take a look at how 57% of Americans thinks there needs to be a third party as an alternative to the Democrats and Republicans, and how Joe Biden is the clear favorite – in terms of donations – of US billionaires. And we follow that with a closer look at writer/journalist/prophet Chris Hedges' declaration that Biden is the candidate of choice of the elites and why it's not likely that a Trump loss will cause a civil war, despite his appeal to right-wing militias. We end the first hour reading a revealing letter from the Montana Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association to Montana Governor Steve Bullock, as an update to our coverage of the police/carceral state. In the third half hour we interview Jacob Elder, a Liberian refugee and now Missoula resident who is running for the Missoula Mayor position. Jacob tells his story on how he became a refugee as a child and how that led to his joining the US Marines, attending the University of Montana for both law and public administration degrees, and throwing his hat into the 2021 Missoula mayoral race. Then for the last part of the show we have a great conversation with sound sound guy Jim Gillan. We discuss Steven Levitsky's interview on Alternative Radio about the likelihood of a US coup, whether from Trump supporters or from other players. And we go from there with observations about the current condition of US democracy. Join us in our social distancing by listening from Noon to 2 pm on Saturdays in Missoula, Montana on 105.5 FM or streaming worldwide on 1055kfgm.org. Alyssa Page grew up in Connecticut, found her way on to the radio by doing everything. Then worked her ass off to get to Atlanta and then a dream position on the legendary 107.7 The End in Seattle. This podcast marks the third member of the radio station to appear on the podcast, and with good reason. The station is oft quoted as one other station's could look to for innovative and brilliant ideas. So what's it like to work there? Alyssa answered those questions along with sharing some of her interview strategies, show prep tactics and what she does when she is not on air. Alyssa and I met back in 2016 at the Conclave and every year she is a joy to see again. The excitement in her eyes was infectious as she told me she has just landed her dream job in Seattle, and in the subsequent years, had been elevated to the midday show. We spoke about the importance of networking, and what attending the Conclave has meant to her career. She also gives back by volunteering on the Conclave committee to put on a great event every year. Please consider joining her and a few others who have also appeared on this podcast June 19-21 in Minneapolis. Of note, our main sponsors Promosuite will also be there. CJ & Rachel will be demonstrating some of their new products and it would be very much appreciated if you can thank them for keeping this podcast free to you every week. This past March, before an audience at the Left Forum in New York City, Alternative Radio's founder and host, David Barsamian, spoke with Mr. Ali. They talked about Pakistan's history, recent news events, and about what the future holds for the country. This is an excerpt of that conversation.
