For regular listeners to the podcast, and those entrenched in the rewilding movement, we know that rewilding looks different in various places, and has different meanings (sometimes often leading to conflict). While human, anarchic rewilding has been around just as long as conservation rewilding, they often seem to be at odds–especially when it comes to the support of state institutions. Which is no surprise. Often times conservation efforts are state sponsored, leading to displacement of people in the name of resource conservation rather than creating regenerative systems of land management. States have it in their best interest to control food production, and conservation falls under this form of management. It's not liberatory, nor is it a long term solution to an economy based on extraction. Human rewilding, in contrast, is considered a radical approach that aims to connect people to their place through direct land management and subsistence practices. This circumvents state power, pitting people against the institutions that aim to control everyone. In order to gain more resources from the current power structures, rewilders must walk a fine line between what is acceptable, and what we can get away with. In the end, if it seems like we may be making too much headway in creating an alternative way of life, the state will take away whatever resources it has lent us.One organization I see facing this dilemma at the moment, is The Rewild Project, a non-profit focused on environmental education and ecological restoration, based in the in the United Kingdom. Their mission is to re-connect people to nature and their ancestral heritage through arts and crafts, growing food, outdoor learning and community-building projects. To talk with me about their programs and the challenges they have faced and are currently facing is their director, Scott Baine. Scott has led a life of eco defense activism, nature connection, traveling the world learning survival skills, and community organizing around rewilding and rewilding related concepts. He returned to the UK to study land tending practices of permaculture and regenerative agroforestry, with the aim to create edible forest gardens. Scott is passionate about rewilding people, not just the landscape.NotesThe Rewild Project WebsiteRewild Project on InstagramRewild Project on Facebook—Green Anarchy Magazine Rewilding Issue Ishmael by Daniel QuinnEdible Forest GardensInclosure Act 1773Half of England is owned by less than 1% of the populationRight to RoamThe Book of Trespass by Nick HayesFor Wilderness or Wildness? Frank Baine is a professional teacher and the spokesperson of Uganda Prisons. He holds a conversation with Crystal Newman, describing his life growing up as a child with a dream of becoming a priest, then a lawyer, but ended up as a teacher. He eventually joined the public service sector and worked as the longest-serving spokesperson for 14 years.
In this one hour audio dark romance novella, a brutal Viscount seduces Baroness Aria Whitestone, daughter of a dead physician, surrogate parent to a fourteen-year-old sister, and mistress of simples and medications. Note this novella has steamy scenes of forced seduction. While these are less explicit than one might find in most modern historical romances, their content may be quite triggering for some. In part 5 of Gabrielle's Mafia story she explains detailed information how Larry Iorizzo, Michael Franzese and her ex husband Peter Raneri pulled off the biggest gasoline tax fraud in history. She talks about how they would have suitcases of money in their trunks, because they made up to $ 2,000.000 per week. Gabrielle talks about Larry Iorizzo her friend, not the mobster and that he is Marcella's godfather. She then reads an article that was written about him in 1994 that gives a little snapshot of who Larry Iorizzo was. His real name was Lawrence Salvatore Iorizzo. That is why Gino's middle name is Salvatore. The $ 250.000.000 tax scheme was masterminded by the brilliant, genius brain that was Larry Iorizzo and was conducted with the involvement of all 5 main Mafia families of New York. Special agent Tom Sullivan who Gabrielle met became a friend, as he also knew in his heart that Peter was really a restaurateur that got caught up in the Mob life. We talk a little bit about Jeep Swenson who played Baine on Batman, but became a hitman for Peter and his Mob friends. We learn about their indictment for loan sharking and racketeering and more details about how they ran this business and had they not been greedy they probably wouldn't have gotten caught. We learn of a side story about Larry being a bigamist and the escapades at the Boca Raton house. We talk about how Noriega who was a close friend handed over Larry to the US government because he was paid. Bernie talks about how scary it has to be to have a contract out on your life. We talk about some of Peter's shenanigans and what a comedian he was at times. They lived a fast, big life with jets, yachts, mansions etc and never got in trouble because they paid everyone off for a long time. We talk about when Michael Franzese, even though denying ever working with Larry had to turn himself in and was charged with 177 counts. ....................................................... The last TalentTalk show of 2019... Our guests are Carolina Caro who is a Keynote Speaker, a Certified Leadership Coach and a Professional Facilitator who who specializes in mindfulness-based practices rooted in neuroscience. And Tom Baine who is the division president of Southern California for Landsea Homes where he is responsible for overseeing the planning, development and implementation of the company’s communities in the region. Chris had great conversations with both Caroline and Tom... their areas of expertise are vastly different so the show really has something for everyone. Please dig in to this podcast and let us know your thoughts on the subjects that were covered.
Tom Baine joined me on the show to talk about the homebuilding industry, which he's been in for 30 years in Southern California. That’s a lot of change he's seen in both our area and his industry! I looked up before the show the population change over those 30 years here in Orange County - 2.4MM in 1990 vs. 3.2MM in 2020 (a nearly 33% increase in people here)Tom is currently the division president of Southern California for Landsea Homes, where he oversees planning, development and implementation of their communities here. He previously spent a considerable amount of his 30 years in the industry at Taylor Morrison Homes throughout Orange County and other parts of the region. Orange County has been a trendsetter and leader in this industry for decades, and there is no slowing expected in that leadership. Tom is also locally educated, graduating from both UCI and Pepperdine.Landsea came to Newport Beach in 2018 and sold out Lido Villas in Newport Beach, which was one of the last remaining coastal communities in the area. They are just about to launch their High Performance Home Program in some other new communities in the area. We talked a bit on the show about how technology and other innovations have come into the homebuilding industry, as well as the changes in what people want to be able to both live and afford to own property in Orange County. I believe there will be big innovations in homebuilding here in the next decade.

Welcome to The Starting Zone Podcast, The World of Warcraft Podcast for New and Experienced Players! Spencer Downey and Jason Lucas sit down to talk with our Patrons about what's on their minds for the June Patron Q&A! Episode #334: June Patron Q&A! is ready for Download! What's New this Week in World of Warcraft! How do we feel about the body guard system? What's our view on recruitment vetting for heroic raiding? What was our favourite boss from BoDA? What's your most anticipated boss from the Azshara raid? What are our thoughts on the Baine scenario? Where are we going after this? Do you think Sylvannas becomes a raid encounter? What is your favorite zone in WoW? Mine would be Nagrand. Fond memories of idly skinning my way through critters while talking in guild chat. Lovely zone. BC Nagrand, to be specific. What do you think is the most outlandish/time intensive thing you wish you'd done prior to the patch that you didn't get to? So I'm barely into Nazjatar right now -- don't even have a follower to level 3 -- but at this point I've gotten two pieces of benthic gear that I've been able to upgrade to 410. Any impressions / opinions about how that gearing system is/isn't delivering for people? I want Vulpera as an allied race more than I want world peace, but I have a weird feeling that we're going to get Gilgoblins. I would really like to know how many hours per week you guys play WoW. It seems like it is a lot more than I do. But I am curious.

For Evertoninans, Saturday's FA Cup final between Manchester City and Watford may well refresh the memory of the last time their side reached a Wembley showpiece. That came in 2009 when, despite Louis Saha scoring the fastest goal in FA Cup final history, the Blues were eventually beaten 2-1 by a Chelsea team in their pomp. An unlikely substitute for David Moyes that boiling hot day was Lars Jacobsen, who came on for Tony Hibbert at half-time in what would prove to be his last appearance for the club. And nearly 10 years on, our Everton FC reporter Adam Jones caught up with the former Denmark international for a special Royal Blue podcast. In it, Jacobsen explains how he eventually became a Blue, with a little help from Tommy Gravesen, what it was like playing alongside the likes of Mikel Arteta, Tim Cahill and Leighton Baines, and what is was like playing for Moyes, who got his man at the second time of asking. Life at Goodison could not have got off to a worse start for Jacobsen but he did fight his way back to fitness to battle Hibbert for the right-back spot, which culminated in that afternoon at Wembley. The 39-year-old recalls what was going through his mind when Moyes told him he would be coming on in the second half, and why he made a decision to leave after the game. The decision to join up with Sam Allardyce at Blackburn Rovers was one he still regrets seeing as he proudly calls Everton the biggest and best club he played for in his career. And before this must-listen podcast ends, Jacobsen gives his opinion on the current Blues crop, who he watches regularly as a pundit back home in Denmark. Enjoy. In celebration of Father's Day, June 17, the Let's Get Naked interview this week is dedicated to telling a deeper, more revealing story about fatherhood. Not what being a male parent is "supposed " to be but taking a look at the "person" rather than the "role" of fatherhood. Rev Baine Palmer is a father of three and has found himself as an "authentic man" by releasing the cultural expectation of being a "know-it-all fixer" and embracing the Truth of the ever-evolving soul, as well as being an inspirational example to his children like they are to him. Baine has lived though the sudden death of his daughter, Susan, five years ago and has great insight and compassion from the "heart opening" that was his eventual and eternal gift from her.
