In today's jam-packed 'sode, we kick it off with a discussion of Guy Fawkes, cheese rolling, and barrel burning, which eventually results in an official endorsement of chaos, looting, and rioting. As our title suggests, we also wonder what takes the cake as the single greatest human achievement, before we answer the age-old question of whether you can get athlete's foot in the jungle. We throw around a bunch of words like chalazion and dihydrogen oxide before diving deep into the philosophy of Men in Black and life as a goat. We hear Munro get genuinely angry, hurt, and offended for the first time (guess whose fault that was), and we shit all over all sorts of awards that we have never gotten and most probably will never get. This list includes the Nobel Peace Prize, the Grammies, the Oscars, and more. We wrap it up after talk of taxidermy, coffins hanging off cliffs, circumcision practice kits, and promises of discussion topics to come. Good Lord.

Up next on Way of the Renaissance Man, celebrating human achievement with Heartland Institute Research Director and space travel enthusiast Edward Hudgins.   When you’re a high school student fortunate enough to get an internship with NASA during the Apollo 11 mission, you get to see true human achievement up close and personal.   That’s one of many fascinating anecdotes you’ll hear about in this episode of the podcast, as Jim speaks with fellow human achievement lover and fellow space nerd, Edward Hudgins.   Welcome to the Way the Renaissance Man podcast. This is a show about ideas, personal empowerment, and celebrating the rational life. Our goal is to help each other discover the tools needed to better focus our minds, integrate our thoughts with actions, and live the lives we really want with your host Jim Woods.   This season, I will continue speaking with many more interesting Renaissance Men, and Women, who can help us identify, understand and assimilate the key ingredients essential to constructing a life well lived. Who's On: Today’s guest from our FreedomFest interviews is Edward Hudgins.. What's Discussed: Like Jim, Ed is a passionate intellectual activist who promotes reason, freedom, individualism and capitalism through his work at The Heartland Institute, one of the world’s leading free market think tanks.   Just some of the topics discussed in this episode include transhumanism, the development of a neural net, the latest anti-aging science, and the brilliance of science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke.   You’ll also hear Ed’s sharp critique of the American education system. Yet the primary focus of this episode is the advocacy for creating what Ed calls, “Human Achievement Day.”   That’s a day designed to remind people of how brilliant the mind in action can be, and what better day to do that than on July 20, the anniversary of the day humans first landed on the moon? And now, here’s Jim’s conversation with Edward Hudgins… Learn More with Links: FreedomFest Website: https://www.freedomfest.com/ Edward Hudgins' website Heartland Institute JIM WOODS' WEBSITES: Jim Woods Investing http://WayoftheRenaissanceMan.com Now, we want to hear from you! "“The act of interpretation is personified, given dangerously high stakes, and in many cases, made to seem like impossible task. An open-ended ""audio guide"" originally commissioned for Cliff Eyland's Library Gallery in Winnipeg, and then Owens Gallery in New Brunswick. The companion does not relate to any of the artworks the gallery except by accident. For this podcast, the companion expands outward to provide its services to any artwork anywhere.”" "Part 1 The introduction of this series states that ""tours can be followed in any order"", but this is wrong, and a lie. First is presented an absolutely inviolable order in which to view a group of artworks. After that, a special ritual to avoid sensorial numbness. Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. His words are burned into the pages of history, “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind!” It’s July 1969, only seven months since NASA’s made a bold decision to send Apollo 8 all the way to the moon on the first manned flight of the massive Saturn V rocket. So was it a giant leap for mankind? Eldon was surprised when he began interviewing people about this event to learn that most did not feel that it was such a big deal and many believed it was staged. Join Eldon and Bruce Tweedy for an inside look. Bruce Tweedy became a fast draw artist at the age of 15—going on to become the fastest draw in the state of Minnesota and winning many competitions. It wasn’t until 1989 that Bruce began to explore the world of crystal music glasses when he was given his grandfather, Charles Wold’s, original crystal music glasses. It was on this set of unique and carefully selected glasses that Bruce learned to play waterless crystal glass music.
